lovewins: Discrimination is a difficult concept to explain to Nigerians because our nation by design encourages discrimination. In a country like the US where citizens are expected to be treated equally you can't do this.
It's why funding for sports even for national teams don't come from government. Federations are expected to sort out their own funding from partners and sponsors so your rewards as an athlete is determined by how much funding your sports association gets. If the President of the US does this for example for one sports, he is by law expected to do same for every other sports cause not doing so would be discrimination. Gbam! We await Tinubu's next move. |

semid4lyfe: Supported. Make dem pick the top two teams from each continental confederation. Off the top of my head, e go be
Europe - England, Spain Africa - Nigeria, Morocco North America & Caribbean - USA, Mexico Oceania - Australia, New Zealand South America - Brazil, Colombia Asia - Japan, South Korea.
The tournament go maad gan. I think 12 is a bit much though. They can do just 6 teams and make it like a league table. The team who tops the table after all matches have been played wins. Or they do 8 teams: 6 winners from the 6 confederations and the best two runner-ups. Then they can split it in Group A and B, the same way they used to do in the early 2010s. |

Darkprime: To the vocal detractors of Osimhen, I empathize with your sentiments. His departure to Galatasaray is a tad bit frustrating knowing the type of player he his, and I'm one of the people who isn't fully satisfied. but please let's take it easy on the Galatasaray slander. It's unfortunate that they're in a league that isn't as competitive or impressive as the EPL, La Liga, Ligue 1 etc, but they're not a terrible team on their own by any means. We're talking of a team that was as big or arguably bigger than Real Madrid in the early 2000s. And they seem to be cooking something mean this season with their recent strategic player acquisitions, so let's not count them out of the UCL just yet. Who knows? Osimhen might even be able to propel them back to the heights of glory they used to enjoy in the 2000s.
Conversely, to the ardent supporters of Osimhen, I should probably remind you that value in sports is not rigidly defined. The perceived value of a player is always being influenced by a myriad of factors, including but not limited to age, injury propensity, market timing, club wage structures and so on. I am certain, without a doubt, that Abrahamovich's Chelsea won't bat an eye twice for Osimhen, before bringing him in. The reluctance of certain clubs to meet the stipulated price tag does not necessarily denote a lack of appreciation for the player's abilities, but rather a calculated assessment of their financial and strategic priorities.
So let's try and be balanced with our takes here please. Perfect. Couldn't have put it better. As for me, I've said it before and I will say it again: provided he performs well in our international tournaments, I'm good. |

Ppogbae: I commend these girls on their comeback versus Senegal but they should not expect another 100k gift from Baba Balabu. Basketball simply does not have the same reach.
I hope they temper their expectations cause I don't wanna hear any wailing after they lift the cup. Temper kor temple ni. Tinubu has no choice but to finish what he started. Or you think D'Tigresses won't internalize that feeling that they're not respected if Tinubu doesn't even give them a nod? It's not like they're an age grade team, they're representing Nigeria at the most senior level. We can talk about popularity and reach all day, but Nigerians are Nigerians. Emotions override thoughts here easily. |

charlesemeka85: Bro u ought to know that one of the major issue with majority of folks here na sentiment, Favouritism and emotions which always blind them from the truth
Being an Osimhen fan as much as I am won’t make me shy away from the truth which is that his move to turkey at this stage of his career where he is among the very best in the world in his position isn’t pleasant to the ear let alone the eyes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No matter how we sugar coat it or check stats of most viewed club and player in social media Osimhen is too good at this stage of his career to settle for a move to Turkey
It would hv been more understandable if he accepted the offer from Saudi, Atleast it will be clear he moved there for the money and can easily return to mainstream European league maybe after just 2 seasons Honestly I feel Osimhen has better chances of returning to the top 5 league from Turkey than from Saudi Arabia. Anything wey make Osimhen enter Saudi, just forget it. Izz gone. That being said, it might still be difficult to return to a top 5 league for the reasons listed in my previous post. |

Amedino99: lookman is the opposite of osimhen in behaviour. No controversies, current apoty. Why is he not getting his big move then?? According to what I usually read on the Premier League subreddit, most of these teams from the top 5 leagues are only willing to break the bank for players who are much younger 9 out of 10 times, because it means they will maximize their potential to the fullest and they will have very high resale value. I'm assuming they see players like Lookman and Osimhen as having shorter stints of being in their peak, since they'll be 30 in 2-3 years. Another thing is injury history (for Osimhen). So that probably explains their conservative bids. Only exception is if the player can fit into the tactical demands of a team in a short term. I don't completely agree with this sentiment, but given the nuance of transfer deals and the fact that there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes, I think it's the strongest argument I've seen so far if you want to play devil's advocate. |

Goke7: If they are not knocked out before semi semi-finals, e go hard for any ref once they are in the last four! If they make mistake and get to the finals, they're winning it 8-9 times out of 10. It's very clear now that Morocco are desperate for an African title. Any team that is going to face them in the finals will have to be at the top of their game and coordinate themselves like a well-oiled machine. |

Goke7: I fear for the upcoming AFCON, especially in the last edition, with the way the Ivorians did all the dirty things as hosts to win in the final by denying lots of Nigerians entry into the stadium, we may have our hands full, especially if the Eagles go all the way. True. Although I strongly believe Morocco will get knocked out somehow before the finals. |

GeneralDae: I share thesame sentiment but the only problem I have with this is that when you give these people a chance they can easily disregard the super falcons as old soilders whose time is gone. This is what some South African analysts felt the super falcons were at the beginning of this tournament until the 5-0 thumping of Zambia and then everyone got scared of the falcons again.
I have never watched a match of the super falcons against an African team where any analyst see them as an underdog in the tie, but I was shocked to see that some international analysts saw the superfalcons as the underdog in that game against Zambia just because of our poor performance in 2022 and the hype of Zambia. Zambians also boasted a lot seeing they beat the super falcons 1-0 in 2022.
So you give these guys an inch, they disrespect you and treat you like you are Equatorial Guinea forgetting super falcons are like the UEFA Real Madrid of African female football.
South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia must learn (like Equatorial Guinea did) that getting to the top is hard but staying there and maintaining your standard is much harder. Brilliantly said. We need to keep reminding them that when it comes to African women soccer, no matter how far they go, they will only be a reflection of us - the true powerhouses. |

Joebie: I forsee Nigeria winning the WAFCON for a second straight time. That team will get even better. Exactly. The squad is still young. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this 2025 WAFCON tournament was the first major outing for these Super Falcons set collectively (Babajide, Okoronkwo, Ijamilusi, Echegini etc) They will play more games together and hopefully develop more chemistry instead of just relying on individual brilliance. Plus, we now have a potential beast in Chioma Okafor. Not only might we win the next WAFCON, I can also see us going far in the upcoming Women's World Cup and possibly sneaking into the semis at least. I was probably one of Justin Madugu's biggest critics before the last tournament, but I will admit the man has impressed me. I noticed he seems to make the right calls, even though he wastes time in doing so. I won't mind him graduating from interim to become the main coach, provided he has a clear plan or agenda for the Falcons in the next 3-4 years at least. If I were NFF president, I'd make certain that he does have a plan, but then again you can't really vouch for NFF when it comes to foresight and quality assurance. |

Goke7: Nigeria has hosted Afcon on home soil and lost in the finals, hosted the World U-17 World Cup and lost in the finals too. Morocco should take a chill. I still find the walking out in the APOTY ceremony, where Lookman won, so irritating and childish. They need to show they are indeed a strong soccer nation, but acting like that portrays them as a weak developing soccer nation, and it stinks to the high heavens. They've always been entitled bunch of clowns. Also, I think the performance that the senior men's team put up at the last World Cup in Qatar coupled with their current FIFA rankings has gone too deep into their tiny heads. They've become way more insufferable ever since. I won't be surprised if they crash out in the group stage of this 2026 mundial. Let's not forget that their entire schtick during the last World Cup was to park bus like say tomorrow no dey. |

Avedonn: After closely observing the housemates and their personalities, I’ve noticed that it’s much harder to predict a winner this season compared to previous ones. However, I believe the eventual winner will likely emerge from these top contenders:
1. Imisi 2. Sultana 3. Mensan 4. Koyin 5. Joana (if she stays competitive in the Arena games).
Personally, I’m stanning Mensan. He may come across as a bit much at times, but I really like his authenticity and unfiltered personality. He stands out in a way that’s hard to ignore. Personally, I like Victory (and Bright Morgan to an extent) but it doesn't feel like they have a very solid fanbase so idk. Out of these ones you mentioned, the only one I can manage and root for is Koyin because he's the least insufferable to me. |
