Check out the Ambasonia agitations in Cameroon, the Cameroonian government are not handling the separatist agitations with kid gloves. Take note that the strongest part of a chain is it's weakest point, our ethnic diversity is our strength. Finally the issues of marginalization, geopolitical inbalance in terms of states in the six geopolitical zones, more federal presence in terms of infrastructures in the south east can be handled by your reps at the legislature IMO |

This abductions/kidnappings in Nigeria is one too many. The security architecture should be rejigged. These bandits are exploiting the loopholes in our national security. Can this happen in the west? Of course not. Dss, NIA, POLICE, CIVIL DEFENCE should be pro active by sharing Intel just like mossad CIA shin bet KGB just to mention but a few. Any security agency that cannot extend its dragnet to cover and forecast what will happen anywhere in the contry in the next 24 is not worth its onions. |

Interesting but Op made an error, instead of speed of sound he said speed of light. OK, but nothing can travel past the speed of light (Albert Einstein), if this happens the particle becomes a time machine and such a contrivance and whatever is encapsulated in it can see tomorrow today or more generally can see and predict the future at the very moment it reaches or crosses the speed of light. Simply put for example, you can prevent yourself from being born by killing your mother before you are conceived! (Matricide Paradox) Also known as doctrine of freewill. My vision of a SWAT for Nigeria are Men and Women with high intelligence from the fields of science ,engineering and humanities. The minimum qualification should be a B.Sc in the above. Fully equipped and abbrest with the latest technologies to combat crime and as such the FGN should enact an enabling law establishing it to give it the necessary legal teeth since their training is highly specailized and a clear departure from the regular police, they will be highly incentivised in terms of salary .In the US they are deployed by the FBI in their field offices nationwide and as such if properly kitted and trained, they can work in synergy with other agencies such as EFCC, NIA, DSS, Army etc.In fact they can neutralize Boko Haram insurgency. Make no mistake SWAT are more elite and rugged than SARS. They will not be seen at check points instead they are almost anonymous. I hope FG knows this otherwise its and audio disbandment. |

I hope this SWAT( special weapons and tactics team) will be like the US model. They are always in black uniform with face covering to conceal their identity. If so they will be a blessing to Nigerians in terms of confronting violent crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, banditry, hostage taking, counter insurgency etc if properly trained and don't trample on the fundermental human Rights of citizens. IMO disbanded SARS should not be in the nominal roll of this new SWATotherwise they will loose credibility going by the antecedents of their disbanded predecessors (SARS) 1 Like |
