Lush100: Good morning folks, My car vibrates on idle and then within a minute after take off the car runs fine without vibration. At high speed there is no vibration. I told my mech to check spark plugs but he says the plugs are okay.( He didn't check it). I guess he was in a hurry or so maybe Salah-being a Muslim. I did wheel balancing about 3 weeks ago at an automated centre. He mech mentioned something about changing my shaft. ( We we're on motion) and he was driving so I didn't get all he said. Pls what do you think it's the possible cause(s). Car is Toyota Corolla sports 2006. Gazzuzz Radautoworks Blackbishop. Your responses will be highly appreciated. There is a lot to unpack here. Find someone who has your time to actually check these things instead of telling you they are fine without looking. |

Many thanks. most cards nowadays are by default but yes, ask your bank. Alternatively, if you have bank app and go to card controls, you can see of it is and turn it on and off yourself. Some banks now also allow virtual USD card numbers for just this situation. |

DEGREE2466: Don't feel like a God. People do this a lot. Even on Fiverr, people make such requests and it gets granted.
People make much more daring requests like having their company name registered in the United States.
If I had known this is the way you would react, I wouldn't bother. I didn't go straight to sending you a private message so it doesn't seem like I have an ulterior motive.
Just to receive a phone from e-commerce website and ship to Nigeria is rude?
Please swerve.
For the respondent asking why I didn't consider using DHL, some of these businesses don't ship to Nigeria. Ask anybody that buy from eBay and Amazon, they have people that receive their items and ship them to Nigeria. Even the ShopToMyDoor that someone recommended, they have their agents in the States.
The mistake I made was getting in touch with the wrong person and quoting her on the wrong thread (my intention was never to post on Uber thread, it happened that this thread is where she comments most so I just quoted her last comment when I searched).
Let's die this. I never wanted to respond any further but someone is already feeling like a demi-god Again, really makes people want to help you. |

Online or not, teachers are still spending the same amount of time teaching your children so need their pay. Also, setting up online classes is neither cheap nor free. So yes, if he wants his children to be taught, he should pay school fees. There are wholly online schools and they are not free. Some actually cost more than in person colleges. Alternatively, there are tons of free lesson plans online and they can home-school the children. (Former teacher and I know how much time out of the school and classroom teachers spend on their job and don't get paid for. You have no life. Work doesn't stop when the kids leave and follows you home. Lesson planning, grading... Don't let me have PTSD jare ) |

djfiki: Car invoicing can be done in usd. This prevents you from loosing money to foreign exchange fluctuations.
Payments will still be in naira at the prevailing parallel market exchange rate.
Goodluck to you mr Amdman. And how do you deal with customs? Or when someone agrees to $1,000 thinking no more than 450:1 then it becomes 500:1 and they say they can't pay? Is this not Naija? We deal with low prices items (and we invoice in USD) and this is a daily problem not to talk of cars. |

DEGREE2466: When did you become the PA or PR manager to the quoted person?
I wonder why some of you lack dignity. Someone you are responding on her behalf is right on this thread and can choose to respond or ignore the request completely.
Mister risk analyzer, you seem to know much about international shipping than you know Lagos roads.
Anyway, I have got to find an alternative. You were quick to list the risks but never mentioned the dozens of businesses transpiring between nairaland members even when they have never met each other.
FYI, I had one of my cars paid for in the United States and shipped to Nigeria through a member I met here without knowing him before then.
No option to suggest maybe a verification or something, just an outright condemnation and 1001 reasons why such should never happen.
Please, grow up and stop asslicking. It will help you better This really makes people want to help you. |

izzou: Importation has really been dicey lately
With the way the naira is falling anyhow, one has to be careful
The Op wants to provide affordable cars, and at the same time the rates are not funny too
Maybe that's the reason for his silence...Just my opinion sha You are right. He even posted the naira is too unstable right now. He's fine though. Canada is just taking covid a lot more serious than Nigeria and USA |

nitigriti: Let me help Aunty RadAutoWorks reply.
This is not right for several reasons.
For one, you are soliciting someone who you don't know personally and who doesn't know you personally too to help you ship a product from the US to Nigeria. It's a security risk no one - including yourself - will take on behalf of someone not known to them.
There are shipping services out there you can use — UPS, DHL, ShoptoMyDoor etc. They will help you get your product down to Nigeria from Amazon even faster than @RadAutoWorks will do.
Lastly, I'm not insinuating anything. Please don't be offended. thank you |

Ty207: The major reason I change my engine is because of vibration even the new grade A engine I brought still vibrate and I notice the rpm always drop to 400/500rpm in traffic which make my engine vibrate, even though I increase the rpm it will still drop..... Most vibration in traffic is cause by fuel pump Is it "connected direct" or did you switch to manual compressor? Also check sparks and coils. |
