So I log on today and there a LOT of mud-slinging about pricing!! My question is a simple one.:

1) what percentage profit do you think it is fair for a mechanic/parts seller to make on parts?

2) how much do you think it is fair for a mechanic to make on labor?

I'll go one step further. Assume the part cost the seller and/or mechanic N1,000.

Agree mostly. Mercedes is the most prestigious but as far as SUVs, they are lacking. Sedans however, they beat Acura. Back in the day, no contest across the board. Now, with the ever expanding SUV models they are adding, they are not taking their time and turning out crap.

Used to be a Mercedes baby without a second thought but now, I compare (suv girl at heart).

Pls stop comparing Nigeria to other countries our environment is very dirty.so many things aren't properly controlled.
The only time you need to put the recirculation button off is when you park your car and the weather is very hot.
But always remember to put it on when ever you are driving if you really need your car to be cooling proper and also to provent yourself from unnecessary smells around.
Some cars are controlled automatically once you put off the car the servo motor opens the recirculation door automatically.

PLS REMEMBER THIS IS NIGERIA

I'm not sure how being in Nigeria affects the facts started above but do you. Pushing your compressor harder and affecting gas mileage to avoid dust is a little bass ackwards to me but do you.

Honda transmissions usually don't survive past 150,000 miles but their engines usually never die when maintained well. But the good news is both engine and transmission are cheaper compared to Toyotas of the same class.

No regrets but I do notice that it's all MDXs on the road. Can't be bad.

Yup. My second one too. 2008 and 2014. Prior to that was a Mercedes baby. RDX won me over.

When I say luxury, I'm not talking about only tech features. Materials, comfort of seats, stereo, etc. I'd much rather go on a long trip in an RX than in an RDX, at least for the years the guy's comparing (2007).

But yeah, the GLK is a bit shite, haha.

Even with those, I find the RDX superior.... Did many a Houston-San Antonio trip in the RDX because it was so much fun and comfortable. Also, for triple like that, it was actually great on gas 22-25 if I remember correctly but like 14-17 in City (07 turbo).

To think I almost refused to look at Acura! It wasn't even on my list. Ex boyfriend made me look at it and I ended up buying it on the spot. So many buttons bwahaha

You're joking. Forget the mpg listed online, ask people who use that car what their mileage is like. Not only in Nigeria sef. Yes, even in the US where people use the premium gas that the RDX absolutely requires. Imagine how bad it'd be with Nigerian fuel. The RDX is fuckin awful on gas.

And yes, the RX is more luxurious than the RDX. What are you talking about? Even ignoring actual features and everything, the RX competes against the MDX, a more expensive, bigger Acura. RDX is positioned against the new Lexus NX. An RX is more luxurious than an RDX of same year.

Umm.. no. You can't compare the features on both period. I compared all in the same year the RDX, GLK, RR Evoque and RX 2008 and again in 2015. Was sorely disappointed by the GLK and RX and couldn't justify the price difference for the Evoque. Never thought I'd drive Honda but RDX was clear winner. Fuel economy is crap though because you can't help but floor it grin

Your gear doesn't go above 4 into 5 I have seen many toyota with careless maintenance on the gear have such issues.

The problem you have started after changing fluid, if the gear never experienced that issues until after fluid change then

Fluid used is fake or

Gear was already damaged but fluid change aggravated it
