Chelseafan1: Hahhahaha, thank you madam. It's on what mileage already. How about the AC too? Any negative remark? I'll check mileage when I get a chance but only one owner before us. Bought with about 15,000 miles on it. No problems with AC. Just what I said earlier. |

Chelseafan1: The 2005 C230 Kompressor ma. Fast, pretty, pleasant ride, decent on gas, fun to drive, lasts forever. Doesn't have Mercedes gas strut sit-down syndrome. Been known to have battery/alternator issues. Everything else sound. They (my dad, mom, husband and cousin) all struggle to drive it as an everyday driver. |

What's your review on the car, kindly let us know ma.
Thanks Which one are you talking about? |

mosbus: The recirculation switch needs to be ON all times because of our environment. No it doesn't. Mine isn't. I only use it when needed. My car has been here for 3.5 years and no issues. Y'all create most of your car issues on your own. Even China and India don't need it on all the time. That reason exactly is why there are so many AC issues in Nigeria. But more money for AC shops I guess. Like I said earlier, y'all do you and we'll do us. |

mayor2013: He is very correct. When you drive past a trailer with 100% emission into the ecosystem. How do you control this. The AC circulation button helps close up the flap from the inside underneath your dash so as to prevent ram air from entering into your vehicle It's meant for short bursts like the scenario you stated not to be used all the time is what I said. |

Car Talk › Re: Fluid Specs Q & A Thread by radautoworks(op): 4:42am On Jan 25, 2019 |
VolvoS60: OP,
Interesting thread.
First question: I have some enquiries about a couple of 4wd Toyota vehicles - a V8 Toyota Land Cruiser (2008 model year, 2UZ FE engine, 4.7L) and a V8 Toyota Sequoia (2008 model year, 3UR FE engine, 5.7L). While the Sequoia was built for the US market and bought there, this particular Land Cruiser was bought locally. There are usually no problems buying US aftermarket parts or OEM for the Sequoia but the Land Cruiser owner cannot confidently buy US aftermarket parts (or even OEM) because the vehicle VIN is not recognized. All too often, its a trial and error thing and he ends up with the wrong parts. Very frustrating. Any suggestions? what type of parts? Motor or suspension? Motor should match but suspension usually matches Highlander or 4runner especially if Prado
Second question: We checked the transfer case fluid of both vehicles some months ago and the fluid seemed ok - no darkening or visible signs of degradation – it was clear that both vehicles are very rarely used in low range (4LO). The transfer case fluid has never been changed - in 11 years. Would you still recommend a drain and refill? 11 years is a long time after all… don't recommend if low mileage. Some cars go lifetime
Third question: During our checks a drain and refill of the front and rear differential oil for both vehicles was done. Unlike the transfer case fluid, the diff oil 'looked' very dirty and we felt it was necessary to drain and refill. Quite straightforward although finding the right oil was quite a challenge and we had to settle for Pure Guard Gear oil (85W 90, GL-5). Toyota recommends some weird OEM fluid (Genuine Toyota Differential LT fluid 75W-85) that is very expensive and hard to find. Any options you would suggest for the next drain and refill? 80w90 conventional gl-5 http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=LUB&partNumber=780-05 or
http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=LCS&partNumber=10043
Fourth question: The ATF seemed ok (still a clear pink? red) but no one seems to know exactly when it should be serviced and how. Your technicians said given the low mileage (less than 60,000km for both vehicles) no service required for now. Owners manual merely recommends an inspection at given intervals. Vehicle owner doesn't want to wait until its too late. When is a good time? should drain and fill at 30,000 miles and do filter at 60,000 miles
Also, when performing transmission service - do your technicians only drain and refill the ATF from the sump or they also disconnect the oil cooler lines to get rid of the old ATF in the torque converter? usually the sump but we have the flush machine to empty whole system |

Romance › Re: Guys!! Is It Wise To Give Her The Spare Key To My Apartment? by radautoworks: 7:55am On Jan 21, 2019 |
Whitewolf8: We've only known each other barely a month, but she acts and behaves like we've known for years, Cooks, cleans, etc acting like we are about getting married when I obviously didn't say anything about commitment to her ....
Now she wants to have a spare to my apartment so she wouldn't have to be calling Me for keys anymore...
Thing is I'm an introvert and I love having my space sometimes, how do I decline her request without making her feel untrusted or rejected?? or do you think I should give her?? From a woman, tell her the truth. Tell her "you like her and are just getting to know her to see if there is a foundation for the future. To do that, you each need your own space so when you do give her a key, she'll know you are in for the long haul." Also tell her "you don't want her doing so much for you like cleaning your apartment as it should be a mutual thing and you'd like to court her some more". That will make her HAPPY to stop cleaning and invading your space Notice I said tell her "when" not "if". When may never come but it conveys an open mindedness that "if" doesn't. |
