Greetings.

Yes, it’s legal. It needs to be discussed and hopefully changed.

USA is one of the few first world countries that still offer this.

I pay my share and have no qualms with the leftover being used for social services and international outreach.

Where I, and a lot of others draw the line is when the system is abused as it is now.

Have a nice evening.
We can agree though that "anchor baby" technically makes no sense. The baby being born here does not prevent the parents from being deported. Remember Elian Gonzalez? Also, the child can only file for parents at 21 so that's how long they have to wait. In the meantime, they live in poor conditions. Thirdly, contrary to popular belief, the parents do not get benefits. Only the children are eligible which circles back to my point that the children go on to stay, work and pay taxes and in some cases contribute a lot to society.

Yes, ain't that something? I totally understand your point of view, but isn't this part of what makes America great? The fact that this country is bound by its own laws; obeys the law even when it's inconvenient and sometimes with negative consequences? How I wish Nigeria would uphold the same principles. In the grand scheme of things, this is part of the cost of upholding American ideals and its civilization.

The cost is insignificant compared to the resources available to this country. On the surface, it appears offensive to we the tax payers, but then, it is legal. Life in America as a whole is very unfair. Think of how medical insurance works. You and I and most insured Americans pay our premiums, and by the grace of God hardly use a fraction of what we pay in. However, an uninsured person can walk into the emergency room in a crisis and is guaranteed medical care. Most do not and will not pay a penny. In addition, 85% of medical costs in America is consumed by a relatively small percentage of seniors on hospital care. They consume multiple times what they put in. The point I'm trying to put across is that the system is designed such that corporations and the working class support the poor, unwilling, old and sick. What do we get in return? The absence of the unpleasantness of people dieing in the streets and safety from revolts with hungry hordes attacking and looting our properties grin

Lest we forget the most aggregious of examples, our ancestors who paid 400 years of hard labor in America. This has always been the American way, the basis of the American civilization! Monkey dey work, baboon day chop. When a monkey shakes the banana tree, some of the fruit falls to the ground and the baboon feeds too. If the baboon doesn't feed, there is a risk he might become a carnivore and start devouring monkeys. It's a win win situation!

My apologies for waxing philosophical this fine evening. My kindest regards to all who contribute to this interesting discussion.
Most of this is I agree with

As for the topic on ground
I don't think Dextron III is right for a 2007 Camry
As ATF - No
Power steering fluid - Yes
Better person. My whole point which they were trying to blur is that Valvoline maxx life which is the most commonly used alternative for Camry 2007 and up is a Dex III.

Dextron 111 cannot and would never be compatible with Toyota WS fluid. I think you are mixing up things here. Read up the 3rd link. Dextron 111 would work perfectly well on older camry 1999,2000, 2001 etc. Using dextron 3 on a 2008 camry you risk loosing that transmission. It's not a debate but just the pragmatic aspect of this field
Thank you.

The parents pay zero towards education, social services, hospital, infrastructure, taxes. Absolutely zero. And they get food at school too.
I get your argument but the trade-off is an investment in the future. America has the best of the best because of this. A lot of them grow up to pay society back x10. It's not like they run back to their countries with what they got here. Also, immigration is was America was created for and is its sole purpose. It's supposed to be a safe Haven for people want more so I don't see the problem.

Mercon LV or Dexron VI is what he will use, not Dexron III.

Don't be all defensive, take more time to read and listen.

The Dexron III is not correct and the top 3's you quoted as refrence were wrong too. Does it meet JWS 3324 as it is recommended as alternative to the WS?

this is Nigeria and while many of us do not willingly procrastinate, some other do it based on mindset.....

"if e neva spoil, we no go fix am"

now back to base.... a good number of Nigerians tend to compromise when it comes to vehicles and that is pretty understandable.... yes... very very understandable....

1. economy.
2. priority (an AC fix is less severe than a brake fix and should be given less priority in cases of tight/limited resources)
3. frustration (it'll be difficult to convince someone who has changed AC compressor 3 times in 3 weeks.. to fix his AC)
4. we are Nigerians...... soon enough, y'all (not running repair shops oh and shouting maintenance maintenance) will understand!

to start with, someone will think.... I bought a tokumbo UK or US "used" vehicle for 1m to 5m and someone is telling me to use 500k to 2.5m to revive the ride with brand new oem parts now that I have already been managing the whole issues.... OMO na to sell the car add money buy another one for 1m to 5m again joooooor...... grin

just giving u a preview of the average Nigerian mindset when it comes to cars...
well I'm above the average Nigerian
Na so we see am o. But we totally get it. Maintaining $ car with N salary.

Thanks for the prompt response. The car is 2.4 L 4−cylinder (2AZ−FE) engine. Therefore, I will need the 5w-20. However, my current need is the coolant and ATF. The mechanic informed me that the ATF is smelling and dark which I believe has become burnt. Therefore, I need

1. Zerex and MaxLife pre-mix Antifreeze 1 gallon N10,220 http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=ANT&partNumber=675130

2. Carquest ATF DEX VI 1 quart N5,015 http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=CQO&partNumber=CQ426 (Can't I get a gallon for this since a Transmission flush might be required)

3. I also need the cost for a new front engine mount whose rubber had broken (FInd attached)

How much is the total and the cost to Abuja? How do I make payment? Can I get these orders before Friday?

Thanks and have a happy sunday.

OilsPartsCars:
To part sellers, all fluids are compatible, as long as sales are made angry.

The ATF specification for the 2007 Camry is Genuine Toyota WS cool, not Dex III or even Type TIV like i hinted earlier.

That transmission is very sensitive. The Dex III will fry that transmission gear. Do not mind what you see on autozone or OReilly. The book says WS, manufacturer recommends WS. Use WS. Do not use because it is used in the States or Ajegunle grin as a yardstic to fry your transmission. Mistakes can be made anywhere sad
You were so adamant I went back to check again and yes you're right. There is an error. It's not type IV. It's WS. I was working on a 2000 Avalon at the same time. Dexron III however is still correct.

Car Talk › Re: Useful Car Information at Mr. Transmission/Milex, Carquest BLOG by radautoworks(op):
Our next topic is AIR CONDITIONING

When last did you get your AC system checked? If it's over two years, it's been too long. The aim of this post is to give a basic understand of your AC system. See the brochure below.

You'll notice refrigerant is a big component of cooling but not all refrigerant are the same. Cars used to use R12 refrigerant until it was phased out by R134a because it was better for the environment while blowing colder. It is important to know that you can't just grab some R134a and put it in. You actually require a conversion kit to use R134a. Recently, R152a has become the new standard in Europe and actually blows even colder than R134a. Another perk is that R152a does not require a conversion kit to work with R134a cars.

Similar to R152a is HCO-1234YF but for your purposes, you will likely be using R134a for years to come. That being said, not all R134a is the same quality. Some are used up much faster than others so buy reputable brands and don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

When a car repeatedly requires the refrigerant to be topped off, our beloved Kazeems are quick to recommend an ac compressor change but half the time the problem is simply a gas leak. Rather than admit they do not know how to find the leak, the average kazeem will simply tell you it's a compressor replacement that is required because if you replace the entire unit, hopefully the leak will be gone. In actuality it literally takes minutes to detect the leak with the right tools.

Finally, when you replace an AC compressor (which we hope you don't have to), there are recommended things to change as well. Why? Because the old components might not be able to stand up to the pressure of the new compressor and may even cause damage to the new compressor if they get damaged themselves. It is also a lot cheaper to get these components as part of a compressor kit than it to buy them individually if they cannot handle the pressure. The components that topically come in the kit are and should be replaced when doing a compressor change are: A/C compressor with clutch, accumulator or receiver drier, expansion valve or orifice tube, o-ring seals, correct viscosity PAG oil and a full evacuation and recharge of the system.

Thanks for reading.
