Agreed, I bought a Trane battery that is supposed to be a premium battery, it has not lasted one year. It has failed, there is no need to go back to the source, how I wish it was a Bosch, I know they have a presence in country.

The battery charger guy said, this Trane is not as it used to be before, it used to be as heavy to lift as a bag of cement or something approximate.

Either they don't make them as they used to,or it was a cheap imitation from China, so please bring us Bosch batteries!

I prefer the top of the line Bosch battery, I think it is called S6!

Will you selling batteries and will you be giving them warranty?

The battery I bought back in Oct 2015 was under warranty and was the second exchange.

Clearly worth the money for me and the Konganians for sure won’t be doing that.

Carquest batteries come with anywhere from 1-3 year warranties in the US depending on the grade (silver, gold, premium) but for now i think we will be doing 6month -2 year warranties and see if the environment allows us to go longer. Gold batteries top out at about N73,000 though because batteries are classified differently and are expensive to ship.. I don't know that the market can bear that.

Thanks. It's actually more about the power ratings as we will be bringing in our brand more than anything else. I need to go by vehicle models and power ratings. That's actually been the hardest part about stocking inventory. Took about eight months to settle on the first mix of parts we brought it. It's pretty much guesswork since there is no real database of cars registered on the road that is readily accessible.

We have a few in stock and I'm arranging for another pallet coming in. This is where a little help from you might be good. We need to pick a good mix. A pallet holds 40 batteries. What do you think is a good mix for Nigerian market?

So had someone come in and buy a hydraulic jack today. Pleasantly random. When we brought in tools as well for sale, we though we would have them for a while but so far, getting quite a few tool requests!

Is N31,970 for an oil change with said Valvoline Synthetic on 2016 Toyota Camry inlcuding all parts, labor, a 30-point inspection and under 30 minutes acceptable?

That same oil change would be N22,845 using Carquest synthetic (which is either valvoline or amalie).

How about N24,115 parts + labor for a front brake job on the same vehicle? Ceramic brakes with a 3 month labor warranty, a 1 year parts warranty and a 30 point inspection?

That's what we are offering. We are not here to compete with the people that occassionally get their hands on cheap product.

Nothing we can do about that. If this was easy, someone would have done it before us. I fully expect people will be able to find cheaper prices here and there but not consistently. We are offering the best prices we can to our customers after overhead. We do not buy from stores in the USA or look for liquidation specials. We are an actual Carquest distributor on behalf of the manufacturers so we get the lowest prices possible from the manufacturers. We are also working every day to find ways to lower costs but as long as customs and clearing remain what they are in this country, it is what it is.

Obviously, our Carquest brand will be a lot better priced than other brands even as we get all our inventory from the manufacturers. This is also because Carquest is in stock here and we chose to bring in the other brands as needed. If over time, if popularity is enough, we will bring other brands in bulk as well which will lower costs a little more. All we can do is consistently offer everything you need for your car in one spot at reasonable prices with warranties. If someone was providing original parts at a cheaper price consistently, I'd be a lot more worried.

At the end of the day, if someone is getting repair work done with us, I dare them to find a cheaper cost + labor anywhere in the country with warranties. Where we may occasionally fall short on parts pricing, we more than make up for it in labor.

I usually carry stuff like spare tires, seats, generally lightweight stuff but have carried a transmission for a 1973 BMW 2002 before.

Unfortunately, I'm not debating issues with you but made a suggestion. However, as at the last time I checked, there was a CRC MAF cleaner with #3k price. I just did another check and saw the new price but then if you compare, your price is still higher if I have to arrange for the courier myself to PH. Whereas they have fixed it at #1k delivery, your system means I have to cater for that myself which, if I'm not purchasing other items, I should be spending a minimum #3k extra on just one item.

The seller on Konga is not bringing in same quantity as you are which should give you advantage in pricing.

Secondly, try to come up with a system in which you contract a courier service and cost of items + transport to customer location is factored in and, total price is arrived at for intending customers at least for now. Since you're in just one location (Lagos) at the moment. I can suggest one, if you don't mind.

In reply to your screenshot, I have also attached a screenshot taken just now other brands as well available on Konga which were all within sane price with the CRC last time I checked.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention but we can't win them all. Like previously said, they could have gotten a pallet liquidation from a store going out of business or something. Through manufacturer channels bringing in things by container, this is the best we can do.

Yes, we are working on a courier service and normally I handle that but I'm not in the country for a few months. Unfortunately I was spoiled by the USA system and never gave it second thought til someone brought it up here. It will be set up fully by January. We are currently in soft open phase and will have our grand opening in January after working out all the kinks we encounter along the way.

Where ai work, we are replacing all hydraulics lines that are not under pressure with rubber tubes and leaving the ones under pressure with steel tubing.I do get your point, however if you check on line, tyre manufacturers do not buy into this ideas, only fixer, then one could argue this claims are one sided cos the more you change tyres the more the fixers get Biz, by fixers I mean the likes of KWIK FIT,RAC Green flag , the AA etc, but people like Dunlop. Michelin, Pirelli etc nop.

Even the car and tire manufacturers will tell you their tires expire! Check the book in your car to see what the maker says about your tires.

Hello, we are working on that. If you have a carrier you like to use you can certainly have them pick up from us.

I will have someone go on the warehouse and check the size as that is the picture that pulls up for that part number and description.

I can't speak for Konga but can tell you our product come from the manufacturer channels and are original. We do not price gouge and base our prices on selling cost, shipping and clearing. It is quite possible they bought liquidation stock somewhere and it's not consistent supply. Again, I can't speak for them.

Rubbers degrade with age because of oxidation like old rubber bands. Synthetic rubber is made 60-70% of.... Wait for it.... Petroleum products.
