128 sounds more like ur RAM, and if that's ur RAM Speed - I wuld not advise you to install Ubuntu like that, do an upgrade . . Atleast, 512MB is required . . For Graphic Cards, Right Click on My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced Tab -> Device Manager |
MTN - Not the Shit, I'd be changin soon . . . To get bigbrovar's PC look, I'd have tu know what Graphic Card u have in ur system . . . and YES! 7GB is aight for Ubuntu, note that after installing Ubuntu, do not try to reinstall XP or u loose the Grub, which may be kinda hectic during recovery. . . |

I've alwaiz known that Desktop Webshots to be some bull shit ![]() Concerning that picture, when u install a software on your system, the program files are stored at C:\Program Files\ (Provided Windows is Installed on Drive C) So Copy and paste this into an open explorer window on your system, C:\Program Files\ You shuld see sth like the "image1" below Click on "show content of this folder", and find the Webshot software name in that dirctory, and open it, Search through that folder and I'm pretty sure You'll see the picture there . . If that does not work, and u remember the picture name - u can search the entire system for the picture file, and if u still don't find it . . Open the picture, take a screenshot crop it using an image editing software like CorelDraw . Good Luck !
|
Logon Studio is a good 1, the only thing is that anybody hu wants tu use the Nairaland logons must install the Logon Studio Software . . I can work on 1, take screenshots and upload for you tu see 2mo . . . But I dnt have images . . Visit www.wincustomize.com and download the software, NOTE: u will need sth like CorelDraw. Adobe Photoshop or any other Imaging software because Picture's have to be resized . . For Linux Users, talk tu afo - he's good with the linux codes and all that . . Later mayne ![]() |

@Rich Dad, Oudated is not the right word, although that 1 came out a while ago, Ubuntu 6.06LTS was the second release from Ubuntu, These are all the releases; Ubuntu 5.04 Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Dapper Drake Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Ubuntu 7.04 Fiesty Fawn and we are expecting; ubuntu 7.10 Gusty I know of many people who use 6.06LTS because of it's long term support (LTS). the next Ubuntu release with LTS will be out around April next year. . It will not be a bad idea if you decide to install the version u have, that is an earlier version and it may be suitable for beginners, if you don't want that, you can contact 1 of the Ubuntunigeria Admin's for a CD. Since ur location is at Lagos, you can hook up with Bigbrovar or Afo . . I would talk to them on ur behalf Good Luck |

Hello Computer Geeks, Today, I won't teaching but I will be asking (we all learn don't we )Now, here comes the q? : Well, I seem to be on the run, so here's a brief question. I think the answer should be simple for Ubuntuans I have just installed Ubuntu on a FrEsH 40GB HDD, and I slaved the other 20GB in the System . I also have another Computer on my Network and I have about 15GB I will like to backup, So I need tu access shared folders on any of Operating Systems, On Ubuntu, I pressed [Alt+F2] and I got the box tu connect, I entered SMB://Bleep.Bleep.Bleep.Bleep (My I.P on Windows XP PC), i progressed because I could see my Windows Shares but when I try to open any of the folders, Ubuntu demands a Password, I entered all usernames and passwords on both Computers but no progress, the Username/password dissapears and pops up again . . What do I do? ? |

W'ssup Nairalanders ? ? ? ? Yesterday, some 1 asked me for a file on some other forum, and I uploaded it on RapidShare, but a lot of poeple posted crap and seems plenty internet users do not like rapidshare because you need to be delayed or get a premium account, For me, I do not have a Premium account and I do not wait to download files ![]() Thats because I use RapidGrab Instead of getting this message "You have reached the download-limit for free-users. Want to download more? Get your own Premium-account now! Instant download-access! (Or wait 45 minutes)" Bypassing this restriction is easy but troublesome. If your ISP offers dynamic IP address, you just need to disconnect and reconnect your connection to get your new IP address and you can continue downloading the next file from RapidShare. From the creators of The Grabber, comes a great new unlimited RapidShare downloading method. Team CodeMasters has developed a new free service called RapidGrab which allows you keep downloading from RapidShare without waiting. Download speed is limited to 512 kbit/sec (64 KB/sec) [Which I really doubt any Nigerian] and only one file can be downloaded at a time. But incase u have MAD download speed like 1mb plus, Team CMS announced that the download speed will be increased to 1.6 mbit/sec (200 KB/sec) starting next week! All you need to do is copy the RapidShare link to RapidGrab and click the GO! button. You will need to enter a 4 random character captcha code at the next page. If the code is right, you'll get a direct link to download the Rapidshare file. Quickly start downloading because the link is only valid for a few minutes. With RapidGrab, you can now conveniently download a few parts with your favorite download manager such as FlashGet automatically. I thought to myself, it doesn't make any sense for a direct link to valid only a few minutes but it's resumable if you pause the download. That means it is important that you START the download but it's not necessary to complete it. This tip which I am going to share with you is no where documented or taught in RapidGrab's website. Let's say you want to download a movie from RapidShare which has 7 parts (100MB each). 1. Generate direct link for the first part. 2. Add the direct link to your favorite download manager. Start downloading it and once it has downloaded a few KBs, immediately pause the download. 3. Do the same for part 2 and so on until part 7. 4. Finally, set your download manager to download one file at a time, start the download and go to sleep. When you wake up the next day, you'll find that all 7 parts has been automatically downloaded from RapidShare WITHOUT using RapidShare Premium account! Thanks to Team CMS for this free service and let's hope it will continue to be free after the Beta period is over. You can download RapidGrab from following link: http://www.cmszone.org/rapidgrab/ Good Luck nerve@windows.com

"It's been a rumour for several weeks, but now it's confirmed: AMD buys ATI. What implications is this merger going to have for the hardware market?" AMD will be providing NDA specifications, an open-source library, and there is a new open-source graphics driver as a result. AMD will continue producing a closed-source proprietary driver; however, they are opening the source-code to a critical library with accompanying GPU specifications for X.Org developers. From the article: "A baseline driver should be available next week and there is already a community of developers in hand with AMD's GPG documentation. The driver that will be made available is comparable to the Avivo driver, but it should be excelling at a much faster rate." That will be an open-source driver for the R500 and R600 GPUs! As mentioned in the article, AMD is paying Novell to do some of the work. |
No! It shuldn't . bh in some cases, it's possible, Please post these here: Harware Details: Processor Speed RAM Make (Intel?? Pen, Cele . (bla!) laptop/Desktop? Screen Resolution? |
