What is this pattern? From Hanaway's use of words it's evident (at least to me) that he's more widely read than Deicide, so unless Deicide is switching to a higher frequency(which in my opinion is impossible), he's not Hanaway. If he's was reducing his ability it would have been understandable, he is increasing it. This is like saying something is deciding to be more intelligent at will. They are two different people.
