It is so annoying when you go to a neighbourhood shop to get stuffs and the seller ends up getting you treated as one who has come to beg for the things you actually came to buy with your hard-earned money. That's how it is with most Nigerians, especially, those that sell provisions, foodstuffs and other little house-hold items. Immediately they get a handful of customers, they become lords and turn arrogant! One could lose the numerous customers one has made over the time if your customer service is bad! You can actually improve your customer service through the following ways:

1) Readily having change to give to customers: I know that there are times when it seems difficult getting accurate change for customers but you shouldn't make it a duty for customers to come with the exact money for the purchases they would want to make. There are shop owners who even quarrel with you when you don't come with the exact money . The Northerner in my neighbourhood makes more money than any other shop owner I know of because he has change readily available except on few occassions. This is in sharp contrast with the seller who frowns and quarrels with you when you come with 50 Naira to buy pure water of 20 Naira! Though, some buyers are annoying sha! How you go bring 1000 Note and talk say you wan buy 30 Naira groundnut?

2) Value every customer that calls in: If you sell something worth 20 Naira, you are richer because you must have made profit. You can't tell me that the market price was the same as the amount you sold it!!! There are people who sell reluctantly to you when you are buying something of small quantity but observe how they react to the man who has come to buy more. My guy, life nor be competition o! Treat your customers well, whether big or small and watch how your sales increase!

3) Always say 'Thank you' when someone patronizes you: Money doesn't grow on trees. People toil and sweat for it, so their purchase, whether small or big must not only be appreciated but must be shown to have been appreciated. Saying 'thank you' when someone buys from you is a sure way of making them come back again. There are people who will never say 'thank you' even if you buy something worth thousands of Naira from them!!! Absence of courtsey in business can make someone to patronize your competitor even if it takes them a longer time to get there!

4) Make sure customers are comfortable while they wait: You can increase people's patronage when you treat them very well whenever they check in. Do not leave customers standing unattended to. There are people whose business outfits you would visit and I bet you, you would regret calling in. Some would be seen discussing and laughing on phone or with a friend in the shop while you are waiting. If you own a shop and it is always crowded, make sure you talk to every customer that comes in, make them comfortable and assure them that you will soon attend to them. Don't make them stand, waiting without any pleasant word to ease the stress of waiting. It is easy to lose customers when there are other competitors!

5) Always avoid the temptation of selling bad goods to customers: This is one sure way of giving your business a bad image! Some years back, I had a woman who operated a provision shop close to my house. She was fond of selling spoilt and expired stuffs to people. When she discovers that her packs of noodles have been eaten by rats, she would still package them and sell to an unsuspecting buyer!!! She thought she was being clever but she got to know better when her customers started decreasing!!!

Your attitude in business matters a lot. It doesn't just end in packing your shop full with variety of goods.

Its a bit embarrassing but with love and teaching she can be the best cook in the world. Cooking takes practice to perfect, guys should stop hating and complaining. Whenever I cook, sometimes it taste well, other times not so well. Maybe she was kinda nervous cooking for a crowd that's why it came tasteless, I get nervous cooking for large crowd but I'm working on it.

Doesn't Iya Basira cook for crowd? Buka owners cook for crowd so that doesn't hold weight, dear!

I was at an old friend's place sometime ago after several invitations for a little get-together. I never knew that other old school mates of mine had also been invited too. It was really a great re-union as we had the chance of having some interesting discussions on the past; we had a good time cracking jokes and we almost laughed our heads off...then something happened that spoilt the beautiful get-together! . Our host quickly told his pretty girlfriend to prepare a bountiful meal for everyone in order to grace the gathering. God knows I was terribly hungry that day and I started salivating when I saw her taking out the ingredients from the freezer...turkey laps and assorted meats (Shaki, Abodi, Liver, Pomo, Roundabout, etc)...fresh red tomatoes like those ones found around the Gaza Strip in Palestine...and the rest. Deh talk am say woman wey nor sabi cook nor really sabi cook even with all the ingredients in the world!!! It was an irony that we all ate the food in silence after it had been prepared! It was really embarrasing. Our host was highly embarassed as I observed his facial expression; though, I didn't blame him but his girlfriend who failed to learn how to cook!!! . I almost thought I was eating real granites from Okpella in Edo State while eating the rice! The stew was extremely tasteless to the point where guys started picking just the meats! No dulling...Warri children!!!

There are so many young ladies who are very bad cooks; it is okay if you are eager to learn but when you feel that you can feed your would-be husband and children with the foods you get from Tantalizer, Shoprite, Sizzlers, Komchop and Chicken Republic, then you need serious help! Men love good food cooked at home by their partner...don't push him to start hanging out with another lady that knows how to cook good food . Remember, Ekaete and Ebiere are everywhere o!

If you are a lady and you are bad at cooking, why not try and get enrolled in a catering school this 2016? Abeg, make you troway shame o! Let it be among your resolutions and stop adding unnecessary stuffs such as looking more posh this new year! Your man could be taken by a woman that's not as posh as you because she knows how to take care of your man's stomach better than you!!!

Guys, watch out for these signs to know your girlfriend is a bad cook:

1) She brings tasty food in, telling you she cooked it but she will never cook in your presence! We go use Gbejero eye take look that type of babe o! Na lie she dey lie... She probably stopped by at an eatery!

2) She always invite a friend to cook with her, especially when you are not around! Na afraid de catch am. She nor wan spoil the food

3) She is a bad cook when you always feel that she added rice to the salt instead of the other way round

4) She always feel it is cool if both of you eat outside instead of a good food prepared at home!

5) She tells you that she loves noodles a lot! Na lie be that. If she knew how to cook well, she would love to cook something else. Indomie na bird food!!!

6) Seriously, I wonder why some babes fix artificial finger nails on all 10 fingers!!! How you go take wash banga nah?
