Please be on strict bed rest so that the cerclage does no give away finally. Are you on nifedipine? As this will help relax the uterine walls and prevent contraction.

@ iyabetajos how are you feeling? If I may ask what drugs are you on because 2 weeks ago I went for ANC and my BP was checked its was 190/90. The nurse was like madam I can't tell you your reading. She did thrice and sent me to the gyne who asked to rest for 3hrs and checked again its was 170/80. I was placed on Aldomet and nifedipine twice daily and was asked to come back after two. I went after two days and its was 160/90. The Doc then increased the dosage to Aldomet 2 three times and nifedipine 1 two times. After two days its was checked and it came to 140/80. Since then I have been on the drugs and watching what I eat with my salt intake.
We shall carry to term teamie. .....

Affliction will not rise again. I will no longer cast my young. It is well with all of us, in Jesus name. Amen.

Please you need to be on strict bed rest. And also try to discuss with you Doc if you can be on cyclogest and aspirin daily till you get to 30 weeks.

@evacroft @iyabetajos@omojudy we're u given antibiotics after the procedure? I was given erythromycin 500mg (4 cards) to be taken 6hourly. I have the feeling that the antibiotic is too much oooo. We're u given something similar? What meds were prescribed for u after the procedure?

Please you need it after the procedure. I was given antibiotics too. You need to prevent any infection as foriegn bodies were introduced to your body during the cerclage.

Hnmmmm, i'm 18weeks today went for a scan and ws told my cervix OS is slightly open . Cervical length 42mm and was advised to do a cerclage.

My worries, is it not too late to hv a cerclage? What are the disadvantges/advantages of having dis procedure done? Can d cervix close on its own without necessarily putting a cerclage? Pls mama's who hv gone thru dis pls answer me soon abeg.

My dear what you are doing is emergency cerclage and it is not too late
Like Zayine said thank God it was discovered on time and you are not licking amniotic fluid. Please be on bedrest immediately and also after the cerclage.
Don't worry God will perfect all He started
And please do it on time .
