SportsRe: Nations Cup - Ghana 2008 by Razorr(f): 8:21pm On Oct 31, 2007
Well, Ghana are one of the favourites, being host. Egypt also are favourites, being defending champions.
But one team I dread is the Ivory Coast (Cote d'IVoire) team. That's one star studded team, with players like Yaya Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, Kolo Toure, Salomon Kalou and not forgetting the goal machine Didier Drogba!!!!!!

The super Eagles would definitely go far. We would reach the Semi-finals at least. That I'm very sure of. cool We've got one of the most star studded squads as well and we still command huge respect, being the giant of Africa and all. grin

But the final matches would be really tough, as smaller teams like Mali are fast catching up.
One thing is for sure, the next Nations cup is g'onna be interesting. Expect upsets from minor countries again this time. wink

And expect me to bring you all the inside gist all the way from Accra, Ghana. wink

@Jackal

Are you serious? shocked Adebayor last scored 6 weeks ago? Wow! If I was Wenger, I'ld play Da Silva ahead of him. Afterall, Da silva scored about a hundred goals last season for his former club. tongue
You guys should send Saha to them on loan in January. Maybe WenGAY's Indomie cuisine would do something to keep him playing. Or maybe some good series of 'luving' from le prof would make him play. grin You never know. . .

AKINWUNMI!!!!!!!!!!!

You have a case to answer. What have you done to J-girl? She has gone missing since the battle you had with Debosky for her hand in marriage.

Jackal:
Eduardo is not a viable excuse for playing 4-5-1 . . . . .Walcott, Hleb and Bendtner can partner Ade upfront to make a 4-4-2.
I have a feeling Wenger will play a defensive formation and fight for a DRAW to protect their league position and the unbeaten run.
He knows once the United game is over . . . . .he wont be tested firmly again till he faces Chelsea in december!!!!!!!!!!!
Very good observation. That would be the smart thing for him to do too. Getting too adventurous would be too risky, so I see him doing the wise thing, being cautious, which may make things a tad bit boring.

Anyway, while watching Arsenal's last game against Liverpool, I realised something interesting. It seems it's only the gaynners on Nairaland that think Adebayor is a decent PREM striker, because all the gaynners I watched that match with kept screaming at the top of their voices that he is the worst striker in the Premiership. grin cheesy
They all agreed that he should be sold or sent out on loan in January.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Razorr(f): 3:40pm On Oct 31, 2007
@Jackal

I just realized something extremely interesting. Something that makes United favorites on Saturday -

Do you know that Arsenal has NEVER beaten Manchester United in a Premiership game on any Saturday in Prof. WenGAY's dispensation? grin

If any gaynner wants to dispute this fact let him do so with proof. grin cheesy So the gods knew what they were playing at when they influenced the FA to schedule this match for a Saturday. grin

That aside, I believe a 4-4-2 formation(your most exciting formation as far as I'm concerned) is what Sir fergie would play and I am seriously wondering who and who in the Arsenal squad have what it takes to tame Tevez and Rooney.

Honestly, who in Le Arse do you think can tame Tevez? huh Especially with his current frighteningly impressive form.

Chelsea fans should find this very interesting -

Mourinho back to Chelsea ?

Could Jose Mourinho be back at Stamford Bridge as early as December?

Well that's one possiblity as it seems that "the special one" is odds on to get the vacant manager's job at Valencia who will be visiting Chelsea in the Champions League on December 11.

Mourinho is quoted at 4/7, with the closest other candidate Fabio Capello at 5/1.

http://www.goonersguide.com/2007/10/mourinho-back-to-chelsea.html

Well, what can I say? Jose could be back in SB in december, but this time around he would be coaching against us. The news is all over the media that Valencia is in talks with him.
Very interesting news.

Who knows, the unlicenced manager might just choose that day to go on another 6-nil ass-whooping exercise and guess who might be the victim. grin

Jackal, I hope Loyika doesn't get to read the posts on this page o, cause his face would turn crimson if he sees how you've exposed his side.

Jackal:
Wenger goes to Africa to buy players . . . . there's a primary reason behind that.
Its simply because he knows Africans lie about their ages.

Do u really believe Adebayor is 23? Toure is 26? Those players are in their 30s.
If u believe that then u surely believe Britney Spears is a VIRGIN.
Oh ma God!!!!! You're a genius!!! grin

Do you know that thought never occurred to me?
So in addition to being a gay, Wenger is also a 419 expert! Wow! Ma respect for the man has increased! He sure is very smart!

And the funny thing is that he carefully selects the players. He picks the young-looking ones to save face.

I can place ma money on the fact that Adebayor is not less than 35. grin And Toure is at least 37. grin

I'm quite sure those two are older than Drogba!! Prof. WenGAY is definitely a criminal!!!! grin cheesy

@I-man

Leave Fabregas. It's already showing. The plonker missed two clear chances yesterday - right in front of the box. Goals that the baby kicking in ma tummy would have scored. So much for being the best midfielder in the world(according to gaynners). grin

I hope Hargreaves breaks the self-servicer's legs on Saturday! grin

@Jackal

Spot On!!

Those gaynner players have deceptive looks. The reason why people claim they are young is because they have small faces. grin
And their smallish look is because they eat only indomie unlike Rooney, Tevez and Essien who eat pounded yam and Akpu. grin

The gaynners' choice of nutrition should also explain their inability to win the PREM in years. Any sensible parent or coach should know that indomie doesn't keep the child strong and can result in things like weakened bones towards the end of a major league like the PREM. grin
I said on the other thread that as things stand today,Chelski is the best team in the Prem and they will beat both United and Arsenal if they were to meet. @I-man

I know you guys have all the trappings of back-to-back title winners with your recent performances, but I'ld have to go with this quote from Loyika's favourite analyst grin.

"Which brings us on to Chelsea, and the rejuvenation that has taken place on the quiet under Avram Grant.

Manchester City were awful, but Chelsea were rampant and Frank Lampard was magnificent. Lampard's pass for Chelsea's second goal, scored by Didier Drogba, was the sort of thing you dream about.

Chelsea showed quality, a will to win and real team spirit. One thing is for certain, and that is those players are playing for Grant, despite all the talk of dressing room unrest.

They have the quality to get right back in the title race - which will be a real thriller if this weekend is anything to go by. "

My dear 4Play, I repeat, the fear of Chelsea is the beginning of common sense. grin Write us off at your own peril.

Watch your back!!!! We're just 5 points behind you. cool

And do you realise that if you make the mistake of drawing against Arsenal on Saturday, the gap between Chelsea and the top two would reduce to 4?

Who knows, Chelsea might just move to the top of the table by December 16. grin Don't ask me how.

Ask Jackal, even he would tell you he respects Chelsea a lot now. He's glad you guys played us when you did - when we where disorganized. Or do you think if we repeat that match at this point, you'ld just walk over us like that? grin

What can I say?

First things first, where is Loyika? grin I've got a special thank you message for ya. grin

Oh ma dayzzzzzzzzzz grin grin

Chelsea moved from 11th position into the top four in just two games. grin

I told ya we would climb to the top of the table by December. It's not even November and we're already doing it!

Chelsea is definitely the best team in England!!!!!!!

Did anyone see those goals? 6 fire-crackers that completely demolished the team at the 3rd spot!!

What can I say?. . . The Fear of Chelsea is the beginning of common sense!! grin

About the ArseAnal and United game, well, a draw would be best for moi. Let the big teams keep dropping points, so I can climb to the first position.
But that aside, I wouldn't mind seeing these gaynners lose. grin Too bad Liverpool had to Bleep up. I'm sure Manchester United would finish the job for moi.

But a draw would be best for Chelsea. grin

I'ld just get maself a bottle of champagne, cross ma legs and enjoy the match and then watch chelsea go on another demolition campaign. I feel bad for Wigan, our next scapegoat. grin

Can't wait to meet these gaynners on the 15th of December. grin I'd like to teach these dumbo scousers how it's done!

Loyika, you go d'ey Lagos on the 15th? Make we watch that game together sef. I wan d'ey look your face as we d'ey beat you. grin You can invite your girlfriend, Kit, as well. grin By the way, how is Remi? grin

What did I tell you yesterday? grin  I'm g'onna make so much money off these gaynners again this weekend.

Rafa's head is on the line for the first time and right now, he would rather die than lose that match. Seems the scousers have given up on the C/L this year and have their sights on winning the PREM. These gaynner 'kids' would be the perfect scapegoat for uncle Gerrard and his wounded tigers. grin

Used to preach to we kids a lot in those days and buy us candy. And he used to tell Kareemu's mum to stop throwing herself at my pop. Anyway, the woman is dead and in the grave now(she died 7 years back of AIDS) so lemme stop talking about her. It's not good to speak evil of the dead.

Okay . . . If I say members of the Kareemu family are dumb and pathetic, Nairalanders would tell me to cool it, but I always have my facts.

If they are not dumb, pathetic and completely lacking in creativity, why would the discovery of someone's last name get them so excited and make em rant forever like they just discovered the exact location of heaven? huh

@The kareemus

Relax, almost everybody on this board has heard the Bankole story before, so please if you want to exchange yabs, get creative and do it intelligently and stop making fools out of yourselves. The damage you have done to your image is bad enough already.

There's something Mr. Bankole used to tell me: - It's that if you are a fool, people would not know it if you keep your mouth shut.

Just a friendly advice. wink

PS: Alhaji, have you found a job yet? Seems unlikely with the amount of time you spend on these boards these days. You're getting it all WRONG! What I'm saying is that ArseAnal has not been TESTED sufficiently and have played most games at home, which has helped. If you w'anna disagree 'bout the home fixture factor, just look at Chelsea last season, we didn't lose any of our home fixtures and still didn't win the league.

What I'm simply saying is that Arsenal in the time of Mr. Wengay has been too fluke-prone to be taken seriously. Arsenal is the only team I know that can go 2 million games unbeaten and still not win a league. grin That's why we can't take you seriously. grin A win over Liverpool (away) on Sunday would simply tell me that ma assumption that you've done well cause you haven't been fire-baptised was wrong.

SPOT ON!!! Most of their fixtures have been at home and we acknowledge that they're very strong at home.
