Ladapo:
I heard they are bringing EFCC directly under the supervision of the Police as soon as Ribadu takes over.
Are you sure about that? If it's true, then that's good news!  grin  Uncle Sege would be arrested!  grin

@sweetchick
Yes it's true.

@magneto
What is the business of the current IG with the EFCC? Does Ehindero head the EFCC?

The EFCC is independent!

Ribadu is going to be the IG of police and trust me, that is not an easy task considering the current sorry state of the police force.

One person cannot head both the Police force and EFCC! It would be an impossible task - too much work!

Obasanjo is smart. Ribadu would leave the EFCC and he would put someone else there. Someone who is not as crazy as Ribadu.  grin   grin

Obasanjo has finally impressed me! He is a very smart guy!   grin

What an excelent way to cover his tracks!   grin

Everyone knows that Ribadu is a mad man. As soon as Obasanjo steps down on May 29, Ribadu's plan is to start probing him immediately!

That is why Obasanjo wants to remove him from EFCC in a few days. I was just discussing this with a  friend this morning!

All Hail Baba Iyabo!  grin   grin
Politics › FG To Name Ribadu New Police IG! by Razorr(op): 9:26am On Apr 24, 2007
A major shake-up is imminent in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), as the Federal Government is set to name Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The shake-up in the Police is expected to lead to the retirement of top officers of the Force, particularly the deputy inspectors-general (DIGs) and assistant inspectors-general (AIGs).

Ribadu, who was re-appointed for a second term of four years as the EFCC Chairman on April 10 and also elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, is to take over from Sunday Ehindero.

A source in the Presidency who confirmed the development on Monday, said both President Olusegun Obasanjo and the President-elect, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, have already ratified Ribadu’s appointment as IGP.

It was gathered that the move was being carried out with an understanding between the Presidency and the top hierarchy of the police.

"The president is disposed to Ribadu heading the Nigeria Police Force in view of his performance and track record at the EFCC.

"It is believed that his headship of the Police will give the Force a better image both at the local and international levels.

"Yar’Adua has been briefed barely a month ago on the moves to elevate Ribadu to be IGP and was said to have agreed and consented to his appointment as IG.

"The Federal Government is expected to announce Ribadu’s appointment within the next few days, while he is expected to be sworn in before May 29 when Obasanjo would hand over to Yar’Adua," the source said.

The source said the Presidency sees Ribadu as capable of repositioning the Nigeria Police towards making it effective in fighting crimes and corruption as well as improving the security of lives and property.

His recommendation by Ehindero to be promoted to AIG is not unconnected with plans to finally elevate him to the position of IGP.

Ribadu attended the recent meetings of DIGs and AIGs and other top brass of the police with Ehindero at the Force Headquarters towards ensuring violent-free elections in the country.

Obasanjo had in March 2005 appointed Ehindero as the IGP, following the removal of the former IG, Tafa Balogun, in February 2005.

Ehindero was expected to retire in December 2005, but was given a one-year extension by the president. He then requested for another six-month extension after the expiration of the earlier extension in December.

Ribadu was born in November 1960, graduated from the Nigerian Law School and was called to the bar in 1984, before joining the Nigeria Police, where he rose to become head of the Legal and Prosecution department, Police Headquarters, Abuja.

OH OK!  shocked  I remember now. . .

I believe I've seen them somewhere in the media!

They are the team with one guy called Roonnini or something like that. The guy who resemble's his great great grandfather who was a chimpanzee.   grin

The press also talked about one guy in their team with fast legs who is supposed to be gay. I heard the guy was harrassed by Wacko Jacko when he was a kid. The guy's name is Ronolaldo or something like that!  grin   grin

The funiest thing about that team is their coach whose mouth is always moving. They say he is suffering from chewinenialaises - A disease that makes your mouth move constantly.

I heard that team is aiming for a Treble with some scummie players.

Na wa o!   grin   grin

They must be a bunch of jokers. So they are planning to wrestle with almighty Chelsea for Trophies abi? They are drunk!   grin   grin

Why are you scared? It would be a nice combination now. . . And Mourinho would build a lot of confidence into the boys like he has done with chelsea.

People would start to fear England! grin grin

Mourinho would easily solve the Lampard versus Gerrard midfield issue, if he takes over in England. McLaren lacks imagination.

England would be wise to employ Mourinho. Problem is they won't, because they are racist pricks! grin

Tokunbo, to answer your question, I have not done anything to make him suspicious of me. He is just scared because he has friends who have experienced horrible things at the hands of Nigerian girls. He is just trying to be careful (at least, so he says).

I told him after he told me about the detective was that he was a freak! I still can't believe it!

Debosky and J-girl are just trying to make us look like fools! They are messing with our intelligence! angry

They have broken up! cheesy

They are just rying to save face because of the bad publicity they have been getting! grin

I have proof for that: -

1. They both changed their signatures from words of love for each other to some irrelevant bullshit!

2. J-girl wasn't with Debosky last night. She was with me! While she was writing all that gabbage, I was busy sucking her boobs! grin That is why I couldn't chat - We had only one computer! grin grin If you don't believe me, I have pictures to prove it! grin

Razorr, do you have anything to fear? if not then just fashi and go about your normal day to day activities. I think you should have some real talk with your boyfriend and let him know you are not down with him putting private eyes on you. That's invasion of privacy , boyfriend or not. If he doesn't see it that way, then you need to start thinking ahead. He might do worse things when you get married, once he has any reason to doubt your commitment.
The fact is this, even if you have nothing to hide, the private eye wants to earn his money and so will emphasize those little details like , the guy that gave you a hug in public (even though he hugged 3 of you at the same time), the guy who paid your cab fare (even though you were not the only one in the cab), the text messages on your phone (assuming he has access - even though there's nothing suspicious there) and due to the lack of trust from your boyfriend, he'll hear and believe only what he wants to hear and believe, and that's what he set out to find out in the first place.
Any relationship that's not based on trust doesn't deserve to exist. That's the bottom line. You guys need to talk.
My fear exactly! undecided
