It's not going to be a three horse race, are you forgetting that Obi and Atiku are already in the same party, and only one can emerge as the presidential candidate. If Obi emerges as the ADC candidate and he picks Kwankwaso (assuming he joins ADC and supports Obi), Atiku will have no choice but to back them, because it would be too late to leave the party at that point to go and set up another political structure elsewhere. With the support of Atiku, Obi/Kwankwaso ticket who where the 2nd, 3rd and 4th candidates from the last election would definitely give Tinubu a run for his money and based on popular votes they would definitely win, but we all know it is very unlikely for them to be announced as winners by INEC, even if they win. Nigerian politics 101. seunmsg: |
This is the only ticket that can defeat Tinubu hands down, unfortunately it will never happen. Kwankwaso will not be Obi's deputy. It just doesn't serve his political interests. He will have to wait for Obi to finish 8 years before he gets a chance to run for presidency. Right now as thing stand, if Tinubu completes his second term Kwankwaso is already the biggest northern politician after Atiku, he stands a much better chance of contesting and winning in 2031, at which time Atiku will be 85. Moreover, if he deputises for Obi and their government doesn't live up to expectation, it will diminish the popularity he already has. Their is only one clear path for Kwankwaso, join APC and wait out Tinubus second term. It is very possible for him to win the primary and be the APC candidate in 2031. If he does anything other than this, he should kiss his dream to be president good bye. |
Whatever you want to call it, call it. Anything that will help us end this chapter of terror is a welcome development. And if it works out, Tinubu would have achieved what Goodluck and Buhari could not. nairamaniac: |

I never said Everton is bigger than Sevilla; I said Real Betis. I can comfortably list 30-35 clubs bigger than Real Betis across Europe. I don't know what the argument is. Real Betis is not a big team in Europe by all accounts. Period. and any sane football fan understands what I am talking about except you just like arguments. erniok: |
Of all the 5 million species of animals on earth, the 400 billion stars in our galaxy, the 2 trillion galaxies in an infinite universe, it is my haircut that God cares about. This right here is one of the reasons I stopped practicing Islam. |
There are only three big teams in Spain, real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. If you are feeling generous you can add Sevilla because of their Europa league record. Valencia, Villarreal, Bilbao and even Real sociedad are all bigger than real betis and those ones are still small teams when we are talking about Elite footballing teams. In fact I even rate the likes of Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle ahead of Real betis. SoliBayNG: |

I am beginning to like this man by the day. Of course he exaggerates a lot, but it turns behind all the bravado, he is a man who genuinely wants to make his country and the world a better place. No I see why they call Tinubu, jagaban of politics. He is really good. Look at how he has made Trump flip script, without uttering a single word. Yesterday, he was praising the first lady, today he is acknowledging they worked with the government in their fight against terrorism. |
Indeed it is. But that is the situation we find ourselves. crossbreedwears: |
Of course he doesn't have options. The only option is to end terrorism and if the US is offering to commit to that, he has no choice but to comply. bluefilm: |
You people are underating Trump, because he uses impulsive language, you think he is actually impulsive or irrational. You people are thinking Trump is going to come an engage an ethnic group you don't like in a war on your behalf. He is not that daft you see. Nigeria has a problem, Trump called it out with his usual inflammatory rhetorics, it forced Nigeria politicians and military to finally start treating the issue as a real issue. They acted in good faith, sent multiple diplomatic envoys to US and now the US are offering to commit troops on the ground to help Nigeria in its war against terrorism. Even a blind man can see that this is a big win for Nigeria. JAPAHTML: |
Hate him or like him, you have to give Tinubu his flowers for the way he handled this US situation. Nigeria now have stronger relationship with the US, than under any president. Trump's rhetoric from last year might just turn out be a blessing for Nigeria. The man is very rational and capable, regardless of his language, if you look at his actions, you can see that he means well. I just pray, he help us end this chapter of violence and terrorism. |

First time in my life I watch athletico Madrid game against a small club, and baba didn't disappoint. This was how I used to watch Napoli games because of Osimhen, until he went on Instagram live and insulted the National team and the head coach. Since that day any love I had for him just magically disappeared. I just hope Ademola maintains this his humility and professionalism. I don turn athletico Madrid fan like this o. Nothing concern me with Barcelona again. Atleti, Atleti, Ale, Ale! |
The funny thing is that, some people for this country go nearly die of pain as them see this news. |
I am not religious, but I see your point. Probably the take home from your message is that men evolved in fear, chaos, injustice, pain and wickedness; and that is what has stayed with us. Goldeno: |
I wonder why there can't be peace in this life. |
See as mature adult men just dey delusional, e dey do me like say na film them dey act. Biafra is a pipe dream sold by the miserable to the gullible. There are almost an infinite number of reasons why Biafra would never materilize, and to see matured people, some even educated thinking that it will happen has to be the 8th wonder if the world. |
The person who wrote this clearly doesn't know what he is saying; comparing state government-imposed taxes by Republican and Democrat parties in their respective states to the Federal government VAT, which is the same 7.5% in every state in Nigeria, is not even related. They are two different types of taxes. They say VAT is a consumption tax; you are talking about entrepreneurship. In that case, what of the millions of tons of agricultural produce from the North that does not have VAT? So should the northerners also come out and be wailing that their VAT was not calculated well? |
This is getting interesting. Let's see who the traders will obey, government or the secessionist group. The governor obviously has the upper hand, all he just need to do is if they don't open on Monday he closes the market for another week, upper Monday too the same thing till they yield. Easy peasy! |
Never thought I would see the day, when a US president will see Kim jun Un as a role model. |
Somehow I still suspect this was staged by Kwankwaso, but if it turns out to be real, then this would be one of the worst cases of a politician betraying his benefactor. |
Why in God's name will I care. How does sit at home affect me. If not that I see post about it on social media, I even forget it exists. Mbanda: |
Chai baba don enter one chance |
Let me tell you, I even pray they add Wednesday and Friday as sit at home days. If they like them do sit at home for the whole year. It doesn't affect me or any other Nigerian outside the south east. Mbanda: |
I was working in Onistsha from 2022-2024 and within that time even government workers were not free to go to work, schools were closed, banks too, even hospital you could not go, fueling stations, gas stations were were all closed every Monday. If you mistakenly forget to buy some things on Saturday, just forget it till Tuesday before you will get it again. It is just an unreasonable exercise, hurting only people in the state. Moreover, it is not even achieving anything. For how many years now, some people living outside South East don't even know anything called sit at home exist. It will even be better if Igbos all over Nigeria take to the streets and engage in peaceful demonstrations. Jomonix: |
The governor is just been practical. Sitting at home is not helping aanyone, instead it is hurting the economy of the states. Jomonix: |
Come on, how is sit at home a terrible nightmare for the Nigerian state. Soludo is just being practical, sit at home achieves nothing. After how many years, it has not resulted in any meaningful development in the quest for Biafra, it didn't stop the government from sentencing MNK to life in prison, the government has never even invited IPOB for a conversation about their demands. Because sit at home is of no consequence to the government. A perfect example is the way the government reacted swiftly with the Naija Delta militants because their actions were costing the government, but you see IPOB their actions do not cost the government anything at all Mbanda: |
You sound naive. First of all it is every bit of the governors business. The sit at home Mondays are taking their toll on every institution, including banks, government agencies, not just private business. Even schools are not spared. There are 52 Mondays in a year, that is nearly 2 months. Students loose vital learning time and don't even get me started on the trillions of naira cash flow that is lost in the state. And you are saying it's not the governments business. Kalulu44: |
Nobody is complaining. In fact the federal government doesn't give a damn at all, that is why for all these years neither Buhari nor Tinubu cared enough to even bat an eye lid towards the sit at home, same as other Nigerians. Nobody cares if the south east were to do sit at home every day of the week till Jesus comes. It is the state governments that realize this and are now taking actions to stop it. okoliobinna84: |
