What strategic achievement can we point to under his administration? Most of his efforts were lackluster. Compensating party faithfuls with key Ministerial appointments. What business did Wike have in Ministry of Education with his crassness? Or reappointing Obanikiro as a Minister to compensate him for loss of the Lagos PDP guber ticket?

Who got punished for the poorly refurbished Airports? In Ph, domestic arrival is still under a canopy and 50% of the airport remains uncompleted. The new Arik terminal at the Domestic airport, Lagos already looks dilapidated. The glazing and curtain walls were obviously substandard. The air conditioning at the International wing has been haphazard since commissioning. Despite these poor performances, no one was punished and full sums paid.

East-West Road has been on for like ever. Where did the probe of oil thieves end? It ended with one of Jonathan's best friends setting up the covetous head panelist; end of story, another noise making with no results. Refineries and the power sector were fixed under Jonathan and we never enjoyed the pleasures until baton exchanged hands. Who is fooling who?

Jonathan's government only succeeded in deceiving it's cronies with the cosmetic approach to governance. His government was a free for all centre for anyone who sings his praises, charlatans and comedians alike. Jonathan paid dearly for his shortsightedness and advice from sycophants.

Buhari will make some poor decisions but he would teach PDP who led for 16 years what good and accountable governance looks like in 4 years.

I will gain nothing by denigrating the North. You are right, I served in Sokoto and it was an amazing year. I will always cherish the fond memories.

However, I noticed that there is an ethnoreligious influence in the attitude towards education. Religious schools seem to gain precedence over secular education. Local media enlightenment is primarily through the native language. In this era of globalization, it is high time the methodology is changed for emerging generations.

Poverty is on the increase in the North because the leaders have not harnessed a concerted vision to develop the regions. There are no population control measures. Yes there are good roads but no attendant complementing industries to boost the economy of most of the Northern States. The per capita income if the average northerner is way below the threshold buying power for basic goods and commodities.

The first step to liberation will be to accept that there is an endemic problem in the North. Secondly, identify the root cause. Thirdly study countries and economies with similar ethnoreligious and climatic nomenclature (e.g UAE). Develop a regional plan and commence implementation via portfolio management strategies; starting with the most important plan. Fourthly, commence the process of reorientation. Make English common and compulsory in all formal form of communication. Encourage all wards to go to school. In 20 years, the North will surpass the South in development if these measures are considered.

Anout 20 years ago, while I was in Senior Class in Secondary School, "Black Jap" finally was allowed to pass out after 15 years as a student. He could not be rusticated because he was a Northerner. After a while, he was being promoted without passing any exams in a Federal Government College. This favoritism is why it is very difficult for most of such youths to develop their cognitive intuition requisite to cope with the global world. The last resort is usually public service or politics.

Lastly, I am Yoruba by tribe but acknowledge the Igbos have far developed their regions (except for Lagos) more than we have. There are still mud houses in my village. Most Igbo villages I have visited have been upgraded to towns with contemporary styled Architecture. The primary reason is because, Igbos have industralized their regions, embraced education (an average Igbo person can at least speak a derivative of English - pidgin) advanced in the tenets of global trade and promote a congruous culture of upgrading their homestead before others. On the other hand, we Yorubas are very enlightened and educated but often times incongruous. We will rather develop the cosmopolitan cities than develop our villages.

Great people but a lot still needs to be done to enhance literacy and reduce poverty. The rich are very rich; and the poor are very poor.

I really think those modular refineries should be given a go to provide opportunities for my former militants brothers who used to operate illegal refineries in the creeks but have now been educated home and abroad to bring their small knowledge to bear.

If a detailed value chain analysis is carried out to support the modular refineries (PPP model) to fruition, it may create a competitive advantage in the long run. It requires the review of all primary and support activities from source of crude oil, contract times, geographic considerations, inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, requisite infrastructure, manpower analysis, risk assessment & mitigation, distribution, cost vs selling price, monitor and control.

Afterwards, the existing refineries can also be upgraded to a modern facility through a PPP too. Sustainability should be the focus; and this involves ensuring future generations benefit from decisions made today.

If you have ever visited 26Battalion Sokoto you'll know what I mean. The CO Lt.Col. OO Ejere has been using soldiers to work on his groundnut as well as cattle/rabbit farms. These same soldiers go to work by 6pm and close by 6am and yet from 7am till 4pm they are working on the farm. Those with cattle close by 7pm and resume by 6am.
That is not military duty. Somebody please tell President Buhari to call him to order oooo. Those soldiers are suffering and are likely to get diseases. I couldn't get pictures so I don't look suspicious.

Private Universities are damn too expensive.

My first year tuition fee was N1,500 and accommodation at N90.

Second year was N500.

I doubt I ever paid up to N5,000 as one time tuition fee until I graduated.

High time our Federal Universities are upgraded to accommodate more students for effective qualitative education.

The high demand for frontline Private Universities is responsible for this menace of hike in fees.

Op, I pray your cries are heard. I know most parents make excruciating efforts to keep wards in these schools because of certainty of education over the public schools. Not all of such parents are rich!

It is extremely disgraceful and shameful for anyone to request for destructive criticism toward the break up of his own country. Have you forgotten that the peace of the country is the peace of your household? What you have listed as reasons for these negative reactions are barely relevant matters. I strongly advise you save your sweat for more important elements of discuss. 4 years is a long ride, you will need a lot of energy for this your chosen path of destruction.

I was more baffled at how APC could have garnered so much supporters in Bayelsa with senior citizens and members of PDP, denouncing their membership and openly declaring for the APC party barely 3 months into the new administration (I detest the idea of accepting all manners of decampees including thieves). My conclusion is that Jonathan failed his people due to gross incompetence and lack of vision. He lacked the charisma, know how and acuity to make any meaningful impact through the years he led. The Niger Deltans have nothing significant to thank him for. They realised that no deep thought was given to the development of the region other than sharing money to their elders, promoting ethic bigotry and upgrading toilets.

Jonathan had 5 years as the lead man at the helm of affairs. A sensible opposition will criticize objectively at the outset and give Buhari at least a year or a full "budget cycle" before choosing to destructively wail (as suggested by Op).

I do not think Buhari is the messiah, he would however be miles better than Jonathan in all ramifications.

This is the reason I strongly advise the new government to consider a "new technology hub"in every major city (Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kaduna, Abuja) which can be as small as a multi-storey office building or as large as a village for young brilliant minds to develop and garner skills in latest software and hardware technology. In 5 years, Nigeria will surpass India in new technology revolution; massive reduction in unemployment; and there will be a major outsource of expertise to neighboring African countries and beyond.

Globalization, environmentalism and sustainability are the sure fire ways for human capital development.

As you rightly predicted, Jonathan balkanized Nigeria; Buhari will prove to everyone who chastised you at the time that to abate corruption, it is a function of the leader's approach. Stunned that this serious case remains inconclusive 3 years after despite the weighty allegations (Farouk Lawan also comes to mind).

This open confession is more of a case closed scenario for the original accused persons, no need spending federal funds in prosecuting them. They should just be sentenced. The secondary offenders who are alleged to have received gratification to stall the trial should be immediately docked and made to also dance "ayangba" to the music!
