Police and lies. The story has loose ends. So quick to have captured the people that killed him with so many vihecles. Hoe did they know it was Gulak that was in that car? What has Gulak got to do with the people that had been alleged to have killed him. The IPOB we know dont do that and everytime the security agencies framed up charges against them they have always come out to debunk it and the truth has also been there.
Gulak death is politically motivated period. Remember Alex Bade's case.

Name Population
Lagos 9,000,000
Kano 3,626,068
Ibadan 3,565,108
Kaduna 1,582,102
Port Harcourt 1,148,665
Benin City 1,125,058
Maiduguri 1,112,449
Zaria 975,153
Aba 897,560
Jos 816,824
Population is strategic in revenue allocation and infastructural development. States with high population will get higher revenue while states like Abia, Ebonyi will get less. This time around going by this figure, Lagos state will get double of what will go to Kano state. Infact Kano will get same thing with Oyo (Ibadan).
If all these are true, each state should ask their reps and sanators about it.
Census is about coming , you need to make sure your people get the best.

In view of the CBN and the president’s efforts to diversify Nigeria’s economy from oil to agriculture under the Anchor Borrowers Programme, the National Cotton Association of Nigeria, NACOTAN has acquired 93 John Deere Tractors that will be distributed to farmers so as to improve cotton production in the country. According to the association President Mr Anibe Achimugu, “ the tractor will fasten land preparation and assist in eschewing every form of delays associated with timely farming”. Speaking further, Mr Anibe said that the 93 tractors have been handed over to two service providers, AgroPro and CamTrack to manage effectively and provide suitable services to cotton farmers. He also used the forum to inform the general public on the cotton farming method being adopted this season known as contiguous farming which would increase the tons of cotton in Nigeria. The association looks forward to individuals who can provide above a thousand hectares of land for contiguous farming and every necessary input and assistance will be given to up take cotton farming on a large scale.Already 119,000 hectares of land has been earmarked for the season across 24 states of the federation with Ogun state having 2,000 hectares. Meanwhile cotton farming has been revived for job creation and income generation along its value chain.

Reno you over hyped these people. Olu was saying the real fact and warning them about the decision they want to take. The igbos for sure will do well and rule Africa and the world with a nation unlike others. Nigerians have been able to check mate the Igbos using qouta system, ethnicity, etc but with a nation, the igbos will offer you the best and you will v nothing to black mail about them.
For the yorubas i will sincerely advice they remain and work for the good of Nigeria. Yorubas v benefitted so much from the system more than the hausa fulanis. More yorubas in govt as civil servants. More yorubas as aides. More yorubas in oil companies that explore no oil in south west. The banking sector has more money from the south east and northern business men but the yorubas house the headquaters of these banks in Lagos. With a break up, people will move as well as business. New forces will emerge as well.
Mr Okeowo is right.
Politics › Re: You Won’t Get Presidency By Threatening Secession, El-rufai Clears Igbo by reality1010: 1:45am On May 08, 2021
pricklewane:
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, says although he believes the South should produce the next President, the people of the South-East must note that they cannot get the Presidential seat by threatening others with secession.

El-Rufai further stated that politics has to do with negotiations and convincing others why they should vote for you.

He, therefore, stated that the Igbo would need to adopt this approach if they want their son to succeed the current President.

The governor said this during a webinar organised by the Africa Leadership Group. The event which was tagged: ‘Developing a Viable Nation 2’ was hosted by Pastor of Trinity House church Ituah Ighodalo.

Responding to a question on why the South-East is being denied the Presidency, el-Rufai responded, “I don’t think anyone has stopped the South-East from going for the Presidency. But you see, you cannot get the Presidency of Nigeria by threats or by shouting victimhood. This is a political process and you have to engage other parts of Nigeria to convince them to support you.

“That is what everyone does. That is what Jonathan did in 2011; that is what Buhari did in 2015 and 2019. That is what every President does. You don’t stay in your corner, abuse everyone in Nigeria and say give me Presidency. It is not going to happen.”

He noted that no region in Nigeria can attain the Presidency without the support of others.

The governor advised those who want to be President to get on the road and convince people that you mean well for them.

He, however, explained that the All Progressives Congress is weak in the South-East which may not favour the region.

El-Rufai added, “Presidency is not by allocation. It is the result of a political process. You join a political party, your party negotiates with other parts of the country and it happens. That is how it is done. And you cannot get it by sitting down or threatening secession. It won’t work.

“I think the South-East is going about it the wrong way because if you look at the APC for instance, we do not have many footprints in the South-East.”

Politics › Re: North West Speakers Endorse Tinubu's Presidential Bid Ahead Of 2023 by reality1010: 7:24pm On Mar 27, 2021
Sirjamo:
Serving Speakers and their predecessors from the northwest zone of Nigeria have declared their support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the successor to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Their declarations and promises are coming some weeks after a similar endorsement of Tinubu was carried out by their colleagues in the southwestern zone of Nigeria.

At a meeting held in Kano for the states in the northwestern zone on Friday, March 26, the lawmakers declared that Tinubu remains the right person for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at this time.

Some of them argued that with the challenges currently being faced by the country, Nigeria deserves a leader who is detribalised and has shown over time that he has the capacity to lead the country.

Praising Asiwaju Tinubu for being able to unite the southwest under one umbrella, they noted that his leadership qualities are scarce in some other zones of the country declaring this as an advantage for the entire country.

At the Kano meeting where the speakers and former speakers received the visiting Speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, who led a team from the southwest, participants further promised to commence grassroots mobilisation ahead of electioneering.

Rt. Hon. Yau Abdullahi Yanshana, a former speaker from Kano, described Tinubu as a worthy leader, who he believes would take Nigeria to better heights while one of his colleagues from the state, said at the meeting that Tinubu would have no problems securing votes from Kano and other states in the zone.

“We should now be thinking beyond him being the flagbearer of the APC and concentrate on securing victory for him in the actual election.
“We know that 90 percent of the structure of the party is built by Tinubu.”
On his part, Abu Dauda, a former deputy speaker in Jigawa, noted the contributions of Tinubu to the success of the APC and the growth and progress of Nigeria.

According to him, Tinubu becoming president would mean consolidating on his passion to make Nigeria great.

Speaker Obasa said he and his team made of serving lawmakers, including Hons. Victor Akande and Temitope Adewale, as well as two former speakers of Ogun and Oyo respectively, were in the zones to interact with their colleagues on how to move the nation forward.

His words:

“2023 is by the corner and the first thing is to look within us for the person that is capable, that has all it takes - the knowledge and capability - to deliver.
“To achieve that, there is a need for us to come together and talk and extend the discussion beyond our boundary to every part of the country to make it easier for us in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the man that we believe can deliver.”

An elated Obasa commended his colleagues in the zone for honouring the meeting in their numbers.

“What we met is even beyond our expectations. This is an encouragement and success because our brothers here have assured us that they are on it and that we should concentrate on others beyond them because they are already in support of what we have come to preach to them.”

https://www.legit.ng/1409189-2023-obasa-secures-endorsement-northwest-speakers-tinubu.html
The North is trying to play their politics of old again. Giving Tinubu support for APC Presidential ticket is to douse the tension in the Southwest and the North knows what the Yorubas like which is political opportunity. They also believe with this move, tension will build up in the South especially the South East where the North has been having its traditional problem for years. The game is that , one, Tinubu will go against his people, and as a specimen for the South east leaders to go against their own people (IPOB). But the plan will fail because the South east are very very organised and rsolute in what ever they want especially the biafra agenda. The spoiler game the Southwest will play will not benefit the north because towards the end the Southwest will change.
My advice is that the North should face reality and accept a better decision of restructuring the country. Even at that the North will not lose.

I have said it times without number that trust yorubas at your own peril. Yorubas are better off in Nigeria than outside. Yorubas should be grateful to the North becasue the North made Yorubas what they are today and without the North Yorubas would have been nowhere.
What can Lagos offer? Apart from Lagos all the remaining states in Southwest are weak and cannot sustain itself. Also Yorubas are parasites in Nigerian government who offer nothing than first telling you when he meets you that he is not an igbo person. He says this while looking for favor from a Hausa man. Instaed of speaking what he can do, he start destroying the Igboman first. While he is going to mosque with an Igala or Egbiraman who is a moslem or a Hausa fulani man, any little issue that involves an igboman becomes his weapon to lobby for favor. So where there is no Igboman, how will the Yorubas survive? Whom will they look to destroy to gain favor. Reuben Abati clearly captured the issue when he avvered that Yorubas have benefitted more in one Nigeria. And i believe they should remain and also stop biting the finger that feeds them that is the North. More Yorubas are occupying positions in this government than even the Northerners. As we speak Orlu has been under heavy military attack as if war has been declared against innocent people. What is surprising is that hundreds of people v been killed and no one is saying any thing. Even a sitting Governor has come out to accept that he ordered the military onslaught against his people innocent people who are armless.
There is every sense of urgency for people to speak especially Igbos in diaspora and we'll meaning Igbos because this is a killing that affect them. By this act one cannot tell why the nigerian army is bombing these innocent people but v left Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen who v been killing and raping people all over the country.

thebosstrevor1:
Yoruba people have more to lose if Nigeria breaks up.

Igbo people are entrepreneurs in nature, they move from one place to another, they have high energy and many of them are hustlers.

Yorubas on the other hand look for safe heavens, many of them prefer office jobs, no wonder there is high rate of unemployment among them. They dont farm nor do anything.

Hausas are like the igbos...almost all hausas are enterprising, even a gate man has a small kiosk selling sweets, they produce bulk of the food in Nigeria.
Honestly Yorubas will be the loser in any break. If you observe you will see that the Huasa man can be use to expand or create development. Once they come to a place, that area gets developed through buying and sellling as well as other activities. Same goes with the Igbo man but you cannot say that about the Yorubas. The Yorubas are the most beneficiaryies of governmt largesse. These people enjoy govt wealth and resources more than any ethnic group in Nigeria and they bring nothing to the table. With these i dont understand why the Yorubas will be fighting the fulanis who v always made them. All that the Yorubas get from the govt is through ethnic , religious or propaganda patronage. But the Igbo man goes with his skills and competent that he will deliver in what ever assignment he is entrusted with. Nost of the political aides at the Villa and ministerials are Yorubas.
Politics › Re: Igbo People Will Be The Biggest Losers If Nigeria Breaks Up by reality1010: 10:44pm On Feb 19, 2021
LoveUdie:
By Fredrick Nwabufo
The idea of having a near-perfect country out of a ruptured Nigeria is illusory. The composite parts of the country each contribute to the miasma of confusion that Nigeria is. No single entity is responsible for Nigeria’s problems. All the ethnic nationalities are equal shareholders in the failing of the Nigerian enterprise. There is enough blame to go around.

Splintering the entity has often been exalted as the remedy to Nigeria’s problems. But this is a defective reasoning because in this instance, Nigeria is defined by its geography and not its people. Nigeria is its people. It is the same people that will occupy the emergent states not angels. There is no paradise anywhere. The problem with Nigeria is a people-problem. Recalibrating the map will not change anything – if the minds of the people do not conform to progressive values.

The assumption that there will be ‘’divine concordance’’ if Nigeria breaks up according to regional lines is obtuse. That a people speak a common language does not put a stamp of camaraderie on group relationship. In the south-east for instance, there is native discrimination among people of the same region. Some are regarded as ‘’impure Igbo breeds’’ while others consider themselves as ‘’true Igbo scions’’.

There are areas sons of certain states are advised not to tread in search of love. Also, it is quotidian among the Igbo to describe people from certain areas in Ebonyi with the pejorative of ‘’wah awah’’ – ‘’impure breeds’’. And there is a deep gulf among classes on the social ladder in the region.

So, what will change if, for example, there is a south-east state as some are campaigning for? Will the present social order be inverted? Will the internecine hate and wrangling dissipate? Well, for sure I think the current revulsion that some have for the entity ‘’Nigeria’’ will be reserved for the emergent state. Elite corruption and abuse will still dominate the polity because the new order will be from the same predatory gene-pool. Non-ethnic predation will give way for ethnic predation because at the end of day class struggle is not resolved by the unity of language, religion or culture.
There is a classic example of a country in Africa steeped in economic and civil crisis after breaking away from the motherboard. The case of oil-rich South-Sudan rings a familiar bell.

Today, South-Sudan is one of the poorest countries on the surface of the earth despite its oil wealth. All the hoopla and gyrations that followed the country’s severance from Sudan soon gave way for tears, sorrow and blood.

As of 2019, 400,000 citizens have been killed in the South-Sudan crisis. Four million refugees created and 1.8 million people internally displaced. The cause of these tragedies boils down to power struggle among the elite who quickly mobilised themselves behind the emergent state to capture power.

A country fabled to be a lodestar in Africa and which was to be a compelling argument for splintering ‘’artificially created’’ states on the continent is now a functional example of why breaking up countries in Africa is not expedient.
An often parroted argument for Nigeria’s dissolution is that the country is an inorganic fabrication of the British. True, but so are many countries on the planet, yet they are thriving and working according to a common purpose.

Most countries in the world were created by accidents of history. It is nearly impossible to find a homogenous country. The problem with Nigeria, as we all know, is that we are yet to have a people’s leadership or as Chinua Achebe puts it, a leader “humbled by the trust placed on him by the people’’ and ‘’willing to use the power given to him for the good of the people’’.

We are stronger together. This is not a platitude but a fact. 90 percent of the wealth of the Igbo is not warehoused in the south-east. The Igbo are a peripatetic people gifted with extraordinary entrepreneurial abilities. They are among the most financially fortunate Nigerians. Nigeria and beyond are their trading arcade. They are in every nook, cranny and crevices in the country. It is unarguable that a united Nigeria is a more viable emporium for the Igbo than a fragmented Nigeria. It will not be the same for the business-minded Igbo with new states emerging from the wreck of Nigeria – the emergent states will certainly want to put up hedges that will protect their own people against outsiders. Where does that leave Chukwuma who has billions of naira worth of investments doting the north and the south-west?

The same theory applies to the north of which economy thrives on agriculture. Nigeria with its bubbling population is a consumer paradise for the agricultural produce of the north. In addition, there are bountiful benefits for the north from Nigeria’s oil wealth.

The south-west as well cannot subsist as an island. It needs the commerce of the Igbo, the endowments of the north, and rich cultural and material resources of other groups to blossom. We need each other.

Our diversity should count for something. It should be our strength. We will be the biggest losers if the Nigerian enterprise is liquidated. We must make Nigeria work.
OP You tried by your attempt to convince people especially the Great Igbo people that a one `nigeria will be the best for them. let me start from south sudan that most people qoute easily. You cannt compare south sudan with the igbos. South sudan is a country without a single football club bu the south easst has formidable football clubs of international reputes. I decided to use football as a mianute item just to let you know that south sudan as a failed state should nt be compared with the south east. If south sudan would be a failed state UN, USA and others wouldn have granted her an independent status. Which nation in Africa is not a failed state if i may ask? At least the killings and kidnapping we are experiancing in Nigeria now are not happenning in South Sudan. We Nigerians are funny people. We have a funny habits of speaking for others as if we know people and what they want better than themselves. If you go to South Sudan the people there will stone you if you attempt to say to them what you v written about them. Why dont you people qoute Eriteria and other new nations, why always South Sudan? Igbos because of there spread and presence in every nook and crannies deserve a formidable state that will protect them. mark it, the day that nation is created you will be shock at the rate of investment they will bring home. The Indians, Chinise, Lebanese and Jews are like the Igbos and you cannt mess up with them because of their nature.
So your arguement does nt hold water.

Expressing shock that such ugly development can happen in Yorubaland which they noted, had been in the forefront of a united Nigeria, the elders tasked security agencies to immediately swing into action with a view to arresting the culprits so they can face the wrath of the country’s law.

In the statement signed by their National Coordinator, Dr Tunde Aremu and National Secretary, Barr. (Mrs) Folake Ajasin, respectively, the elders said the action does not represent the Yoruba people.

“We received with utmost shock and disbelief the burning down of the residence of Sarkin Fulani Oyo State, his livestock and 11 cars, by some suspected criminals in Yoruba land allegedly instigated by one Sunday Adeyemo otherwise known as Igboho. This action is unacceptable to us, it is criminal, barbaric and uncivilized, and we call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Sunday Igboho and all the perpetrators of this dastardly and unwarranted act,” they said in the statement.

The elders said,” While we acknowledge the criminal activities of some suspected Fulani herdsmen in the state, we must state that the attack of the Sarkin Fulani Oyo is madness taken too far.”

“The Sarkin Fulani has lived in Oyo State for a very long time and has been known to be very peaceful. He has spoken publicly and privately against the criminal activities of some of their deviant youths and tasked security agencies to go after them. The Sarkin Fulani Oyo deserves commendation for his actions against the few criminals masquerading as herdsmen in Oyo and not this kind of evil and injustice meted on him by some of the criminals in our region,” they added.

Noting that, “This is highly condemnable and must be condemned by all”, the elders said: “Criminality is not a tribal trademark but a global trend involving people from every tribe and race.”

“We all know that they are more good Fulani people than the bad ones just like there are also criminals of Yoruba extraction, hence it will be wrong to attribute criminality to every Fulani person in the South West,” the statement added.

According to the elders, “We must remember that we have our brothers in the North who have been living there for ages as well. We shouldn’t set this country on fire for our selfish interest.”

” We, therefore, urge all the governors in the South-West states to take responsibility of their states’ security by ensuring that every lawful Fulani man and woman living in the South West is safe and protected from any form of attack and violence in the interest of peace and national unity, they must commence an immediate robust stakeholders’ meetings to engage all parties.

“While we call our Fulani and Northern brothers not to see this act as an act of Yoruba people but a clear act of criminality perpetrated by some misguided youths that will be brought to book in no time.

“The unity of Nigeria cannot be sacrificed on the altar of criminality,” the statement read.

The trailer killed a boy but you wouldn't say that. fulani herdmen kidnap & kill but you wouldn't say that. All of you are the same- wicked, evil & callous. How many Southerners are kidnapping and killing you in the north?
My advice for you is stop behaving like animals otherwise you will be treated like animals.

kiss the truth!
Remember the land does not belong to Yorubas alone. Fulanis are also part of the owners. Lots of intermarriages have taken place with mixed bred of fulani sons and daughters born into yoruba communities. Same thing between Igbos and the Ibibios and Ijaws and Ibos. Igbos cannot tell the Ibibios to quit their land beacuse these people v become part of the society. Same thing goes to the Yorubas and Fulanis.

Imagine! Very shameful that a bycycle repairer will be the one leading educated people to kill and burn innocent people and their properties. How come his family is abroad? How did he get the money?

This is very bad and wicked. The way Yoruba youths are destroying people's properties is disheartening. These youths v carried out lots of destruction on people's busnesses. The other time the Yoruba youth burnt a full trailer load of cows belonging to people. The insecurity we are experiencing is everywhere and everyone is helples. We are in our trying time as a nation. To allow such magnitude of atrocities is a call for civil unrest. Other tribes should join hand in warning the yoruba youths on the repercussion of what they are doing. I cant tell why their leaders are not speaking. Igbo people should speak now if not next time you people will be the main target especially your busness. Speak to condemn these act because you v more businesses out side than any ethnic group in nigeria

You think it is Nnamdi Kanu people support? It never was about Nnamdi Kanu, its always been about the ideology of liberation known as Biafra.

To look at Kanu is to miss the point, its always been about liberation. Hate or love him, Nnamdi Kanu knows how to massmobilise people and there are not many people who can do that. Without being able to massmobilise people, whatever change anyone seeks to make in Nigeria is a non-starter
You are absolutely right. Even as it stands the Igbos will never drive the Fulani people away. They may support Biafra but will not allow anyone to kill or attack other.
