By Eta Uso (Jr).

Nigeria, what has become of you?

These days it is either strikes, bomb-blasts, kidnapping, slandering of political opponents, ingenious looting, begging for our rights, leadership nonchalance, think any vice – think Nigeria.

The political class is in a state of decay such as never seen since the world begun. The citizens are so impoverished and disenfranchised that they now beg for their rights rather than demand for it.

It is only in this same Nigeria, where senators get millions as constituency allowance, then come home to give few scholarships to an insignificant number of people, buy motorcycles and sewing machines to share to an insignificant few, then they go about sounding their trumpets that they have alleviated poverty in their constituencies.

It is only in Nigeria where political appointees are actually glorified sycophants who must abide to the rule of their masters or be exiled to the poverty-soaked way of life of the common Nigerian [a situation that a common Nigerian finds him/herself as caused by the same selfish masters that they call leaders].

It is only in Nigeria where failed leaders and clearly unpopular political office holders, come out to vie for offices and even go ahead to seek 2nd terms, 3rd terms and even more as may be allowed by the constitution. It is clear that it is only in Nigeria where our leaders seek re-election even when the land they swore an oath to govern and serve is ridden with strikes, anarchy, deprivation, unrest and all humanly thinkable vices.

Many commentators favoring going back to Nigeria re just myopic in their postulation. The truth is,,,,,if things re working out for you in Nigeria,,,,stay back in Nigeria,,,but if not,,do the best to find an entirely result oriented solution to your peculiar problem.
Check the link below and tell me if this is the Nigeria someone is advising others regret about?
For those who moved legally, have good jobs and are caring for their families who cared for him during his younger years, there will be no problem. The problem is the negative picture we paint of ourselves in our greed to look for the easy way out. I wonder how many Americans who will run from their countries to stay here all because he wants to find a 'home' in Lagos.
The bottom line is money, our attempts to seek out easy wealth which most times lead to crime when we cannot legitimately acquire enough to satisfy our need.
If most Nigerians are suffering, it is as a direct result of their understanding about life, have it ever occured to you that staying in naija is also a choice, or that some people cannot take some dehumanizing treatments meted out to Nigerians abroad despite the money involved. Stripping women for toto, sorry total search is one of such.
It would be better if you start educating the suffering masses so that they would not suffer,,also Nigerians face far more worst dehumanising situation in Nigeria than Nigerians abroad
As to why Nigerians marry whites, clearly for economic reasons. Those you mentioned may be affluent but the vast majority do so for social security. The white man will never trust, like you and for you to love the whites to the extent of marrying them is regrettable. For those of them that marry our girls, check surname of the girl and you will understand. Are you saying Akunyili two daughters got married to white Americans because of money? or MKO Abiola daughter too?? or the Late Bishop Benson Idahosa son who got married to an American whitehuh
The save Nigeria group may have its own agendas so is no reason to conclude we are suffering. Its not the 10 billion dollars remitted that worries me, its the trillions lost to foreign govts as taxes and rates. Its the lost opportunites and brain drain tht should frighten us more.
Mr Invisible,,,you sound very intelligent,,,,but the problem I noticed here is that you re blindly patriotic,,,Nigeria is my country,,,and there is nobody under the face of the earth that loves her more than I do,,,,but I would never pretend about the situation in Nigeria,,,,I believe Nigeria can be better,,,,but not by wishful thinking or blind patriotism,,,,
TravelRe: Do You Regret Moving Abroad? by REALTRUTH1: 11:32am On Nov 13, 2010
Everybody can't stay or live in Nigeria,,,,It would be very stupid, wicked and heartless of me to assume that because Nigeria is Ok for me,,,therefore, it should be oaky for everyone else. Its also stupid and an act of foolish and blind patriotism for me to assume that Nigeria is the best place for all Nigerians to be in order for them to achieve their life dreams.
Its good enough to say the country has the potential to be better than what it is or has been all along,,,,but untapped potentials are just not sufficient enough. The truth is ,,,if Nigeria is not working for you,,and you have the means as long as its a legitimate one get out of the country. But if you think the country is treating you fine,,,,then good luck and stay back.
Too many avoidable things are wrong with Nigeria,,so mere patriotic statement can not fix it,,,even our political leaders know this. If things were very okay in Nigeria,,,there would not be groups like Save Nigeria Group. However, anybody wants to talk down on Nigerians abroad,,,for a group of people sending down atleast $10Billion to an economy yearly,,,,that is quite substantial and commendable.
As far as I know presently,, most people re suffering in Nigeria,,,it takes pretence not to admit this fact.Even our political leaders children do not even resides in the country,,,many wealthy Nigerians(criminals or not) have their funds outside the country because they themselves re not commited to the country.
Why do we have the Akunyili's daughters getting married to white Americans? Why MKO ABIOLA DAUGHTER(An Havard graduate getting married to a white?? Why is OBJ son(Muyiwa married to Bahamians and living his life in the US?? Even Adenuga's first son too refused to resides in Nigeria.
I read an interview by Dayo Adeneye last year,,,he said all his siblings ,,,except himself don't live in Nigeria. The truth is that there lots of Nigerians doing pretty well abroad(Particularly in the US),,,don't know else where though,,,

SportsNov 5, 2010By Patrick OmorodionPerturbed by the current confusion and rot in the country’s sports sector, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has taken up the gauntlet to salvage the sector through a Special Prayer/Thanksgiving Service on Sunday. The event which will hold at its Headquarters in Ebute Meta area of Lagos will be presided over by the church’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, to ask God to revive Nigeria’s sports and bring back its lost glory, Paul Bankole, Director of Sports of the RCCG disclosed inLagos.AccordingtoMrBankole, the RCCG became concerned in the decline of the sports sector because “not too long ago Nigeria enjoyedreasonable respect within the international sporting community, participating regularly in every competition of note and giving a fair account of itself in these competitions.”Stressing that the problem of Nigeria’s sports was both spiritual and physical, Mr Bankole said that things like “age falsification, fetishism, corruption/fraud, moral decadence, winning at all costs, violence, demonic covenants, favouritism and insensitivity of some churches towards sports” contributed to the present decay in the sector. He equally blamed the extinction of boarding house systems in schools which caused the collapse of the inter-schools sports system, disappearance of Physical Education from the curriculum of schools, dilapidation of sports facilities and unsound sports policy among other things, as the bane of sports in the country today. The Pastor of the RCCG National Headquarters, Richard Anyiam particularly mentioned the crisis in football as one of the things the church will pray against to restore the country’s glory in the area.“The NFF crisis is a show of shame, things have really gone haywire. If we can take care of the spiritual problem, everything in the physical will fall in place. We will not pray for football only but all the sports,” he said.He said that Pastor Adeboye who was recently conferred with the Spiritual Pillar of Sports award by the National Association of Nigerian Footballers (NANF) and Save Nigeria Sports Initiative (SANSI), is happy to be associated with sports.http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/11/pastor-adeboye-leads-special-prayer-session-for-nigeria%E2%80%99s-sports/
This is one good example of taking the name of God in vain!! Until some body prove to me its with prayers Brazil, and other footballing Nations used in winning football laurel,,,,then is yet one other spiritual manipulation,,,Its really sad ,,i mean very sad how certain people with all their self styled spiritual professions take the name of the Lord in vain. Nigeria can never develop mentally until they truly begin to challenge their so called spiritual leader,,,
PoliticsWhat Do You Think About Fela Durotoye ? by REALTRUTH1(op): 9:28am On Nov 02, 2010
Fela Durotoye otherwise called FD,,,is a young Nigerian in the business of motivational speaking,,,, He has been going about everywhere in Nigeria from radio station to Television station even on to Facebook and the globe,,,he has one very specific message or do i call it prophesy:
He said that come December 31st 2025, Nigeria would be the most desirable economy and most desirable place to be. I ve consistently object this idea,,,not because i do not have faith in nigeria but simply because there is basically no logic to this effect.
The only logic he has to do this effect is that God would make Nigeria the best economy in the world by 2025. I personally don't think God wokrs that way,,,
Christianity EtcRe: Have You Prayed For Nigeria Today? by REALTRUTH1: 5:03pm On Oct 29, 2010
The proper question to ask is if God recognise that there is a country called Nigeria? Was it God's idea that the North and Southern Nigeria be amalgamated?
There re very serious countries out there with several problems,,,and they too are sincerely praying to God for help,,,and i think God is busy with those countries,,,trying to solve their problems b4 coming to very unserious bunch of disenfrancised, forced amalgamated dissillussioned people,,,
The truth is that,,,its not prayers that has been keeping Nigeria,,,its simply the interest of the 1% Nigerians controlling the country that has been keeping the country together in a lie and forced marriage .
If anybody loves Nigeria and wants Nigeria to continue(this is my wish),,,,the only prayer to pray is that : God should impress in the hearts of people the need to embrace the concept of Sovereign National Conference,,,,where all parts or regions would sit together to DEFINE OR REDEFINE the basis of NIGERIA's continued existence,,,We must in a very pragmatic way define and redefine how we wish to continue to live as one or,,,the other alternative , peaceful disintegration(which am not in support of,,but if it will give us the peace we all want ,,I don't mind).
Religion is the number one problem of Nigeria,,,and religion has continued to fail Nigeria over time and time and again. The sad truth is that,,,no one can ever find God in religion because all the religion this present day are man made,,,,

PoliticsNigeria’s Economy Is In Tatters —bishop Oyedepo by REALTRUTH1(op): 1:01am On Sep 28, 2010
The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church World Wide (aka Winners’ Chapel), Dr. David Oyedepo, has said that despite the huge resources the nation is endowed with a large percentage of Nigerians are living below poverty line because Nigeria’s economy is in shambles.
Oyedepo said this on Sunday in a letter he sent to all Winners’ Chapels nationwide.

The bishop in the letter which was read to the congregation at the Winners’ Chapel Ado-Ekiti urged members of his church and other Nigerians to pray to God to liberate Nigeria from the bondage of corruption and misrule as the nation celebrates 50th independence anniversary on October 1.
He said, “The economy of the nation is obviously in shambles. Nigerians are living below poverty line.”
Oyedepo added that Winners’ Chapel would hold a “Jubilee Passover Night on September 30 to battle for the soul of Nigeria,”

He expressed the hope that the nation would be freed from the hands of bad leaders as Nigerians pray and change their ways and asked each of the church to get a giant map of Nigeria which would be prayed upon.

The cleric further said that the nation would begin to experience real freedom from all its enemies because God ordained jubilee year as a year of freedom.
Oyedepo added that it was regretable that other 50 years of nationhood, Nigerians had continued to languish in abject poverty due to wickedness of their leaders.
According to him, democracy is the country in nothing short of “demons crazy” as politicians kill, maim and perpetrate all manners of atrocities either to get to office or to hold on to power.
Oyedepo stated that ritual killings had been on the increase as people were looking for money and power from the wrong source. He said that politicians used human beings for rituals to get to office, adding that when they assumed office they foisted wickedness on the people.

He also urge Nigerians to shun money politics and vote credible people into various offices.

Oyedepo said that there was an urgent need for a positive change in the country because virtually every sector of the country had collapsed adding that the collapse was evident in health sector, roads, education and others.

But he said that Nigeria would march out of bondage as the nation entered 50 years of nationhood.

Christianity EtcPastor Killed For Raping Man's(co-founder Of Church) Daughter by REALTRUTH1(op): 3:15pm On Sep 23, 2010
A 56-year-old man, John Oromoro, is in police custody for allegedly killing his pastor, Ben Ojinaka. The incident happened on Sunday, September 19th at Jakande Estate, Ajangbadi. Mr Oromoro said the pastor of Jesus Power Ministry, Benjamin Ojinaka, 45, allegedly raped his 15-year-old daughter in July this year.

He said he went to confront the pastor on the allegation that it was his daughter that lured him to have sex with him when a fight ensued between them that led to the pastor’s death. “I be tanker driver,” he said. “The thing wey happen na since more than one month ago. My daughter, wen be the last born of my fourteen children get marine spirit. Pastor Ben come say him fit deliver her. Na me and pastor na we form the church together, so na so pastor come dey carry her go for deliverance.”

Scandal and death

Mr Oromoro stated that his daughter was eventually delivered of the ‘spirits’ but he noticed she kept going back to church after the deliverance. “Later my daughter come refused to go church; after I ask her many times, she come confessed say pastor Ben rape her for inside my house one day during deliverance,” he said. “I come vex, go meet pastor. Him come tell me make I forgive am say na devil work, I vex but I come forgive pastor.” He said he then heard rumours of the pastor claiming that his daughter lured him to have sex with him. “When I hear say pastor dey tell people say na my daughter rape am, I come go him house on Sunday go ask am say why him dey spoil my daughter name,” he said. “Him tell me to get out from him house , I come vex, we come dey fight. Na so people for the compound come separate us. As pastor dey run go tell police, na so him fall down.”

According to the wife of the deceased, Mr Ojinaka slumped after the fight and was rushed to a private hospital. “As him fall down, we pour water for him body but him no wake up,” said Mrs Ojinaka. “We carry am go private hospital and them refer us to General hospital for Badagry. When the doctor seem am for general hospital, them say pastor don die make we carry am go mortuary.” His corpse was subsequently taken to the mortuary at the General hospital, Isolo, Lagos.

Police officers from the Ilemba Hausa Police Station arrested Mr Oromoro and the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department at Panti, Yaba. Homicide detectives at Panti said investigation into the case has began. Frank Mba, the Lagos Police Command Spokesperson, advised resident to shun violence and embrace peace.

Sagamite:
- We can't adequately provide for the 150m we currently have.
- Our attempt to improve productivity and governance to improve our ability to provide for the current population is painfully slow and cannot match the population explosion.
- Weather patterns and land fertility structures are changing drastically with us having limited understanding of why, the likely developments and likely final state, so our current agricultural knowledge would be eroded and become obsolete hence we might not be be able to control our food productions which might lead to food shortages.
Yet people do not see a problem with our spiralling population?
The truth is Nigeria presently is far more than 150Million population wise,,,,Nobody takes a country serious which lacks verifiable statistical data about very fundamental indices that defines such country! The census board of Nigeria claims that Lagos population is 9Million plus,,,,whereas the Lagos State Government believes that it is over 20Million,,
Anybody who have lived in or being to areas such as Ajegunle,,Orile Iganmu,,Badia,,Agege,,Okokomaiko,,Oshodi,Mushin and other areas of lagos would know that Lagos is truly almost or over 20 Million,,,
By my thinking,,Nigeria is far more than or almost 200Million population wise,,,what is your thinking about this??

We are dealing with adults, and not children under papa's care.By default, parents are supposed to be spiritual heads over the family in Israel, their case is different, because it was a nation under God. The headship in Israel were spiritual. Even the kingship. They were naturally spiritual head over the children. We are not under that system now. There is no national faith and national religion, this is personal relationship with God. If you have parents that are christians, they have something to impart if they bless you, but that doesn't give them authority over you as an adult. And they can't take the place of your pastor who is your spiritual head.
They are recognised by  the government,by God , by demons , by angels, by the church. But the court has no power to bless marriage. If a Christian does that , he still needs to do marriage blessing or church blessing, to confer Gods blessing upon it.
Just as many of the pastors in Nigeria have unknowingly developed a psychological problem,,,I can see clearly that you have also developed one( Pls bear with me that I ve to use dis language for U),,,In essence,,if truly all the marriages that were/are contracted in the church has got God's blessings,,,tell me why in some pastors are actually involved in divorce cases in Nigeria,,,also why is it non- Christians live a much more honorable and decent lifestyles than professed born-again tongue speaking christians in Nigeria,
Much more,,,I am using pastor Ighodalo's wedding as an illustration,,,Can we say his marriage has been blessed by God since it was conducted in a church? Knowing that those who blessed him in the church are now making a U-Turn thereby withdrawing the "the church blessings(curses)"
I have a feeling U are a pastor,,,and am not surprise at ur twisting of God's word. I am sure since you are internet savvy,,U must have heard of Rend. Jim Jones,,,At what point would you recommend that people should disregard their pastor authority?
As for me,,,No pastor,Bishop or whatever can have any authority over me that contradicts my parents,,I am a spirit being,,and am spiritual connected to my parents,,pastors these became pastors because of greed and an uncontrolled zeal,,,because U re a pastor,,,U must have authority over my families affairs? what if you are wrong like Revd Jim Jones? would you ever think I will listen to you if at all you re my pastor,,,You re living in a dream world,,,Many people are becoming very aware of the antics of these chalatans,,,who claimed to be annointed,,,

Parental authority is not forever , when you get to the age of accountability, you are responsible for you life. They are to raise the children to embrAce God. God becomes their father. The parents have succeeded as parents.
Matthew 23:9
9 And call no[ man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Luke 14:26
26 If any[ man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Mr Agbaje or Pastor Agbaje,,,either of two things would play here,,,its either the Bible is wrong/invalid or U re a false prophet wrongly interpreting the Bible,,,Look at the Bible referrences below and corrolate with ur above interpretation of the scripture you quoted above:

Ephesians 6: 2-3. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promisewink That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
The scripture here did not define when a man ceases to be a son to his father or mother,,even African traditions teaches us to honour our parents,,how come a so called religion would teach us how its got to get to a point we have to disobey our parents,,,

Matthew 15:4-5. For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

How many pastors in Nigeria are actually saved or born-again? That is the question that begs for an answer,,If marriage is based on your definition,,why was it in about 2 parishes of RCCG last year,,,within a year marriage contracted got divorced,,,or why is it that after the elders came together to rejoice with Pastor Ighodalo and got all the so called spiritual blessings from all the pastors and GO's,,,,and just 2yrs in his wedding,,,he was asked to either quit the marriage or quit the church?,,,is it that all the men of God that graced his wedding were not born again enough or not spiritual enough to know that he was married and divorced b4,,,a story everybody knew about him,,,
YOU MUST stop spiritualising and indoctrinating people because the wrath of God shall befall you and your likes who have brought the name of God to disrepute,,,
How can any sane person call the criminals in Nigeria men of God,,

That's If you are are unsaved.

parental authority is not spiritual authority. But pastoral authority is spiritual.

I didn't remember that you were quoting my earlier post, I thought you were just asking in general based on my numerous posts.
We can't deny the authority the parents have over the children, but at the same time , we must recognize , their authority has limits.
1. When they reach the age of accountability.
2. When the parents take a stand against the word of God.
When a man is born again, he's Gods property, there's God purpose to fulfil. The person that has spiritual authority to bless them is the pastor. The parents have parental authority for a period in their lives, but the pastors spiritual authority to bless supersedes the parental . If parents are not born again, they have no blessing to offer a Christian . Because there's a rule in blessing. You can't bless your senior! The lesser person is blessed by the greater person.
Heb 7:7
The less is blessed of the better
.
With all due respect,,am deeply sorry to say that I have to insult you for trying to insult peoples intelligent here,,I would you re a very stupid and one of the false pastors parading the streets of Nigeria. Who is a man of God ? and where in the Bible did you see the above bolded statement. This how you people go about breaking peoples home in the name of a God you don't,,Did you not read up where Ephe 6 Verese 2 to 3 says what should be to parents? Why is it at Deeper Life Bible church they always insist on parental consent as against the penterascals doctrine that have brought confussion in christianity in nigeria,,,
I repeat again you re and must be very stupid and silly to make the above bolded statement,,,Can you smell the coffee that more and more people are becoming very aware and informed of the manipulation, deception and fraud your so called men of God re becoming these days? So I will allow the authority of the man of God "RUN FROM YOUR LIFE MINISTRY" to have authority over my son,,or I will allow ur man of God that I will have to pay #200 for BAMITISM and where I will consider sunday service as ORDINARY service,,,
As Christian and as a person I have virtually no respect for any NIGERIAN PASTOR,,,except fro KUMUYI AND BAKARE,,,,

More facts have emerged on why the sacked Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Dr. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke was ignobly removed from office.

Ndi-Okereke
She was said to have rebuffed the advice of both President Goodluck Jonathan and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to resign her appointment after billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote sent a petition to the Securities and Exchange Commission alleging financial infraction against her. She had run to the two men to intervene on her behalf.

The sacked Director-General, according to sources close to her, is currently running from pillar to post to regain her exalted position.

Besides the law suit of N3 billion against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), challenging her removal, she is also said to have embarked on intense lobbying to make the capital market regulator rescind its decision.

Okereke-Onyiuke had approached Jonathan first, but was shocked to be told it would be impossible for her to keep her job. She was given the option to resign.

She then ran to Obasanjo, her mentor. But the former president was angry to learn from her, she had first approached Jonathan. So he simply gave her the same option: resignation.

The troubled former NSE Director-General was also seen on the camp ground of the Redeemed Church of God and was understood to have met with Pastor Enoch Adeboye for prayers to keep her job.
