Good evening Dr. I have two beautiful daughters and
I tried to conceive the second on ovulation day but I
guess I ovulated earlier or later in that cycle since I
did not use any kits or such then. Meanwhile, my
husband wanted just two kids.
Now, I really want to have a boy. Someone told me I
can work with a gynea to make this happen.
Something about the gynea monitoring me and
knowing when my egg is about to burst so I can meet
with my husband that day.
Is this possible? If yes, what tests was she referring
to and which Doctor/Gynea can I meet to help in
Lagos? This is will my last baby so I don't want to
take chances at all.

Polygamous is the state of marrying more than one person. How is marriage a basic instinct? Polyamorous is having more than one partner. Or if you want to be really specific, polygynous is where a male lives mates with more than one female in a group but the female only mates with one male. Also telling me to do "some readings" is literally the laziest thing you could ever do in a debate. Rather than telling me to do "some readings" prove to me that you have done some. Cite them in an academic matter and quote them to present your case.
People leave their spouses for very complex reasons unique to each divorce. Not because of some imagined basic impulse.
Emotions may trump logic many times. But emotions are a sign of an advanced, highly developed limbic system and evolved because we are social creatures. They are not the "basic impulses" you are talking about. You're talking about human males being ruled by the impulse to reproduce with many different people. This is an impulse that we DO have control over. Using it as an excuse for promiscuity is weak. Human sexuality is extremely complex and in fact female human sexuality (females having sex at any time of the year) is unique among primates. You cannot simplify it to "men were meant to be polyamorous" "women are meant to be attracted to wealth". It's crap.

But yeah you are never going to convince me and I don't think I will convince you. I enjoy debating.

Sooo sad!!! Dr Kevwe that I know in st. Nicholas is actually a paediatrician. I fought with him a lot when my he was always pricking my new born baby in a bid to get her blood sample (she was very tiny with multiple needle marks on her fragile hands and legs). Poor guy was sitting in and taking the heat the so called consultants should take. why should a case file be locked in an office? and how can a paediatric handle such a matter? St. Nicholas has the habit of sending their trainee doctors to handle cases they shouldn't. I use them, so I know. I also complain a lot but, how better are the other hospitals?

While I wouldn't exactly endorse sex before marriage, I'd have to say it's time for us to stop treating sexual immorality like it were the only bad thing a human being could possibly do. For crying out loud, people lie,cheat. people defame other people people steal people commit idolatry for Chrisakes people kill each other but still society has managed to make sex look like the vice and canker worm eating into the society.

Your level of self respect and the richness of one's personality or even state of self control has nothing do with the vaginal status(i use vaginal because girls seem to be the worse victims).
I'm tired of society reducing something as intimate and beautiful as sex to a user/used context where one party is appraised and the other scorned.
If you believe in abstinence good and fine (which I'd personally recommend due to the maturity and energy involved in sexual relationships) but stop categorising other people who don't live up to your principles as being bad.

Those guys complaining about being targeted by the Police should please go to the State of Bavaria or Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany, they will understand what a police state is.

However, even though there are some overzealous or even racist police officers, some of the predicaments we face are self afflicted. Some of our people like to cut corners, beat the system, and when they're caught, the oyinbo begin to stereotype everyone, we become potential suspects.
Despite all these, UK still offer a better opportunity for you as an "educated" African when you compare it to Germany even though Germany is economically, organizationally and structurally miles ahead of the UK. For instance, it's easier to land an administrative position as an African in the UK than in Germany.
Anyway, the only cure to us being mistreated is to get our country to run. We will earn the respect we crave if our homeland start to show signs of sanity. I'm afraid that might not even happen in my life time considering the situation Nigeria finds itself right now. The mentality of an average Nigerian, the lack of foresight of the political leaders, and the fact that Nigeria has defied reforms that ensure the growth of stable institutions and infrastructures necessary for development among others are very troubling. I wish Nigeria well nonetheless!

I am the second medical doctor in my entire family, the first doctor, my uncle, finished from unilag in the 80s and emigrated to the U.K, he is now a consultant and director in his trust & of course, a U.K citizen. When I graduated from Unilorin, I was 21. He heard and was so excited, promised me that I'm not going to practice in Nigeria, he'll do all he can to make sure I do my specialty training in the U.K. 5 years down the lane, he doesnt pick even my calls again, call me or reply my emails. I'm not the kind of person that bothers people, so its not like I call him all the time, maybe a total of 8 times in the last three years. I have never even asked him for money, even when I was a broke medical student. I passed all the exams I need to practice in the U.K except for the last one which I have to write there. All I need from him is just an invitation letter & accomodation for a week. I am working and can afford flight and all, though my account is not healthy enough to apply for a visa but I have cash flow. I told him I want to come to come to the U.K for the exam, it took him three months to reply me and he sounded so uninterested. I called him thereafter on two different occasions, his secretary that picked noted down my name and said she'll have him call me back, he never did.

I'm just so surprised why he is behaving like that. He knows that if I come to the U.K, I'll be successful but he is not willing to help even in the slightest way. It is people like this that make me want to "make it" so well so I could prove to them that I can do it on my own. . .

As much as I like helping people, I will not knowingly help an illegal immigrant to either find work or accommodation as it is against the law. I can assist with money either to buy food or ticket back home. You don't ruin your life/career/good name just because you want to "help" someone.

look i had a resit in final year,...when my mates were worrying about where to do internship. I had to worry about passing, not where i'd do house job. The fact is that medical career is in phases. That Australia runz though...don't use all your widow's might for it...cos i don't think it's easy to pass. I think the exam is written in Greece and Australia. I know some folks who went to Greece to fail and gave up. And another to Australia to fail, and got stuck there, with no $$$. So he got a teaching job and has been teaching since. But i heard the pay is good, if you can pass the AMC, but unfortunately, the number of Nigerians there is lower than UK and USA, and d place is fing far!...not to talk of the spiders, snakes and walking lizards!!!

Australia is a bloody far place, almost on the far end of the world.
The Australian system is very disorganised for foreign doctors.
Part of the problem with Australia is getting the internship slot that is required to commence residency training. However, if you are willing to go into the remote/rural parts of Australia, then it may work for you. Nobody likes those regions because they are a long long way from the mainland where everybody lives and you have to battle hot temperatures, possible loneliness (no Naija peeps) and then gmyguy's spiders, snakes and walking lizards .

You'll need to scale you IELTS and AMC MCQ (approx A$2000) and then get the required visa

Currently though, there is no place to write the exam in Africa and many foreign doctors are even averse to practicing in Australia. The average Pakistani, Indian or Fillipino doctor wants to go to the US or Great Britain.. I'd even advise New Zealand over Australia, at least there are some successful Naija docs there.
