Last time i checked, both Man and Woman supplied the chromosomes to make a child.Of course he has rights but not until the baby is born. if you think about it from the x and x/y chromosomes, he should have rights to his property but even if you make a law that will enable him have rights from conception, what will happen to women who doesnt want a pregnancy because of the changes it'll bring to their body or because they dont want to be single mothers? Don't you know that some guys may use pregnancy as a form of punishment on a woman? I'm prolife tho. |
Disturbing reports reaching my desk confirm that squads of stern-faced armed security guards have been deployed to keep vigil over all of Kano's fabled open sewers to deter hordes of non-indigenous gutter aroma sniffers who have besieged the ancient city in the belief that the sewers of Kano offer a superior high to those in other cities of the country.Wouldn't it be better for them to charge taxes and fees for sniffing their gutters? while some really stale ones should be marked V.S.O.G(very superior old gas) and should be sniffed for a higher fee. |
Hey nairaland babes beware of madmen on d street because they beginning to fall in love like every other normal human being.roflmao |
RoflmaoHey, don't knock it till you've tried it. At least you won't get busted for scuba diving in the gutter, which is definitely prefereable to what would happen if you stood beside that same gutter smoking a joint. Rather than ridicule the gentlemen who have turned Nigeria's fetid open sewers into a treasured natural resource about which Nigerians can finally be proud, we should applaud their resourcefulness, ingenuity and undying spirit of adventure. |
Almost 90% of the hausas here live on drugs, they smoke and trade weeds, iice, Happy Five, Ecstasy and some cough syrubs, I see it as part of them because they do it everyday. In this part of the world, people take weed like there is no tommorow and i see nothing bad in it.This is a very bogus statistics. 30%, may be but 90%? hell no. |
Did she actually confess to this? I have heard cases of people trying to deliver cases for friends, only to get caught and charged with trying to smuggle drugs out of the country. I say the media should make sure this is not the case before painting her black. It's only a new traveller that still deliver cases for people nowadays because they write it and announce it over and over again in every airport. |
What is going on in kano? It's time we nickname kano "the center of Euphoria". Again, is the sharia law not against drug abuse? |
Kano battles spread of strange 'chemical' among youths From Adamu Abuh, Kano KANO State government has expressed concern over the disastrous effects of a chemical item identified as rubber solution abused by youths in the state. advertisement A section of youths in the state, it was learnt, had formed the habit of sniffing the substance, which makes them to lose self-control and sometimes become unconscious. Director-General of the Directorate of Societal Re-orientation, Dr. Bala Mohammed, while speaking with journalists shortly after a seminar on "Youths Against Drug Abuse" at the weekend, lamented the ugly trend among youths in the state, adding that the substance known as Adai daita Sahu, which is bought as glue, was used for other illicit acts by youths. He said: "While we agree that bicycle repairers and others are doing their legitimate trade by dealing in rubber solution, we still believe there could be a deliberate ploy by some unscrupulous persons to destroy our youths with this harmful substance. I say so because why do we have one million sticks of this substance required by only a handful of persons in our market?" Mohammed disclosed that the one million sticks of glue had been confiscated by officials of his outfit, in conjunction with members of the Hisba Board after a raid of the Kofar Ruwa Market recently. He stated that his organisation had approached the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) to explore means of regulating the sale of the substance to members of the public. Kano State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Nicholas Walter, said the agency was handicapped over the issue of the abuse of the rubber solution. Nevertheless, he said he organised a meeting with members of the Association of Rubber Solution Dealers in Kano to explore means of ensuring that the end-users of the product were the deserving persons in the state http://odili.net/news/source/2008/jun/30/31.html |
I heard they do so in Naija. pathetic!!!! |
The youths need it for getting high. You may consider packaging them like they do water in Nigeria. That may make a good sell.We can't have the cows farting anyhow anymore. It contributes ginormously to global warming. |
Drug disgrace for Nollywood star By Senan Murray BBC News website, Abuja The scandal is said to have boosted interest in her films Fans of popular Nigerian actress Hassanat Taiwo Akinwande are still shocked by her fall from grace. The star of Nigeria's film industry, known as Nollywood, appeared in court last week charged with trying to smuggle drugs to the UK. Some of them say they will now boycott films she has starred in "because she has disgraced her fans and country". Miss Akinwande, who uses the stage name Wunmi, was arrested in September by officials of the Nigerian National Drug Law Enforcement Agency while trying to get on board a London-bound Virgin Atlantic flight from Lagos. After a few days in detention Wunmi, who is famous for her roles in Nigerian movies that preach morality, had excreted 92 wraps of high-quality cocaine weighing in at 1.214 kg, according to the prosecution. Reaction "I am really disappointed in her," Jide Osinowo, a taxi driver in Abuja told the BBC. It's the work of the devil https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/42368000/jpg/_42368300_hassan203.jpg "I and my family used to watch her films because they taught children lessons about how to grow up and become responsible citizens and now this! I even heard that she was crying in the court and saying she was not guilty. Well, we shall see." "With this whole cocaine business, I have no reason whatsoever to watch any of her movies," Nollywood film buff Sola told the BBC. But some of Wunmi's fans are sympathetic. "It's the work of the devil," Kemi Makoju, a self-confessed Wunmi fan said at a video rental store in Abuja. "She is not the kind of person to do something like this. I'm not going to stop watching her films just because of this small thing." Disrepute Wunmi's colleagues in Africa's fastest-growing film industry were not so sympathetic. Nollywood films are usually distributed by video and DVD Following her arrest, the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners quickly suspended Wunmi from its ranks saying her conduct had brought the industry into disrepute. Wunmi's fans and fellow actors now appear to be avoiding her. When she was charged before Lagos high court last week, her fans and colleagues uncharacteristically avoided the court premises. Abandoned and alone, Wunmi wept freely and told the judge she did not speak any English. Her confession was greeted with subdued sniggers from the gallery who clearly thought Wunmi had taken her acting to the court room. "Mi o jebi, sir" - Yoruba for 'I'm not guilty, sir' - she responded when the one-count charge of illegal drug possession was read to her. Pioneer Wunmi, a single mother of two was a Nollywood pioneer with a career that dates back to the 1980s when she first appeared in a popular Yoruba language soap opera called Feyi Kogbon, Yoruba for 'Learn from this'. It's a good advert for us because more people are now asking for her films Pirated film seller She's starred in over 50 low-budget Nigerian home videos which are usually shot in six weeks or less. One of the Yoruba language movies Wunmi starred in is Ajeniyonu, Yoruba for 'making money is a risky venture.' It is indeed a big risk Wunmi may have taken, for if convicted she faces spending the rest of her acting career in jail. However, her arrest, ironically, has reportedly led to a renewed interest in movies she starred in. "It's a good advert for us because more people are now asking for her films," Uchenna Obiefuna who sells pirated CDs and DVDs in Abuja's central Wuse Market told the BBC. "Yes, I feel sorry for her, but our people also say one man's downfall may be the opportunity another is waiting for to rise." "No be my fault, na God - it's not my doing, it's God's," he adds in Nigerian Pidgin English, shrugging. Nigeria is reputed to be the hub of African drugs trafficking. Although marijuana is the only drug cultivated in the country, Nigerians have been caught in the past smuggling South American cocaine to Europe and other parts of Africa. A recent United Nations report which studied drug trafficking in West Africa found that Nigerians were responsible for most of the cocaine smuggled into the UK by the so-called "stuffers and swallowers" who swallow drugs wrapped in condoms for later retrieval. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6193008.stm |
raw sewage releases gases like small carbon-chain alkanes like methane, alkenes and most prominantly hydrogen sulfide (which all account for the putrid odour). I suppose that is what the fellas inhale. Why not visit the farms and inhale cow fart? |
Why are you'll hating on my Hausa brothersDid you see anywhere in the article that said the inhalers are hausas? |

I think that some of the topics we discuss are analysed from a perspective of an outsider looking into a variant model and trying to force/mold the model into conformity within the analytic rules.Lol; Are you a court marshal in your local govt's magistrate court? |
Roflmao,Ma friend's dad once invited dpolice to investigate d whole house. including his wife and kids, brothers, in-laws, so its wont be new thing if i do d same to ma wife, maybe if she refused, to confess, i'll give her serouis torture, lol, i might invite Jack Baur, to do rest, Tongue |

Look at it very well, is the half not reallys hers? Women are not complaining about the law and they are not against giving out their own half in case of divorce. Funny, some guys here steal from their girlfriends. |
Um why are you lying? Many women would have a problem with their husbands taking money from their purses. Even you sef said a few pages back that such a man isnt a "gentleman"Oyb said " does that mean that y'all won't have problems with your husband spending your money on , " He never said "our husband stealing our money for , " A man that steals from a woman is not a gentleman. |

All of a sudden, Dr Jackal, a celebrated chauvinist is supporting women stealing from their husbands. I can only think of one reason which is that he's also pilfering his girlfriends purse. Guard your purse girl, he's up to no good.It depends on how much she is stealing. . . . .How much do their accessories really cost? Pea-nutz i say. ![]() |
