SuperEagles:But the government and it's supporters frequently used that stick to beat the man and his supporters. Were you guys not often saying Mr.Obi saved while the people of Anambra suffered neglect across board...and that his only investment was worth nothing... So what is different with this. Is suffering not in multiple factors today. Is infrastructure done.... For the first time in living memory the three major highways from the north to the west, Midwest and east were so damaged that traffic was grounded simultaneously. Lagos - Benin, Abuja - Lokoja and Nasarawa - Benue all collapsed....all in the midst of towering savings.... Monetary.... excellent. Fiscal.... total rubbish. Political.... hypocrisy. |
I am all for boosting external reserves. I prefer savings to debt, a true reflection of a country's productivity, development and most of all discipline. So, kudos to the CBN for pushing it up step by step and the effects are a relatively stable naira which should incentify investment. The monetary side of things is shaping up quite nicely. The other side, the fiscal side of the coin however is another matter entirely. A worn wicker basket indeed where the humongous loans, the overbearing taxation and the total absence of social services is just ruinously fritted away with absolutely nothing meaningful to show for it. Instead of INVESTING....INVESTING.... INVESTING these collosal sums accruing to government in a planned, pro enterprise, pro job creative, pro productive manner we are constantly told these sims are being SHARED...SHARED.... SHARED to people who the silly Constitution has given immunity from prosecution, the government has given immunity from scrutiny and the people themselves have given immunity from accountability through their subdued, feudal mindsets. So the discordance of so called historical savings alongside the paradox of historical poverty. If a man has substance and willingly deprives himself, it is called a 'fast'. A fast is done for a higher purpose, to make for divine involvement. Are Nigerians fasting in this government. Having plenty but seeing none.... |
Just do your next four years and go. Hopefully Nigerians will have learnt enough to graduate with distinction from the school of hard knocks. There is nothing more to say about this disaster if a government. Everywhere you look. No solutions. No thinkers. No executor's. Just excuses and more excuses and even more excuses. |
Magnumproperty:Oga. Government should not fold its arms and watch cost of energy spiral out of control. It will wreck the economy. It will shut down businesses and it will destabilize and endanger the government itself. It will make the country unattractive to investment particularly in a country where diesel is the go to energy source for alternative power, where diesel is the go to energy source for haulage in the absence of rail transport. Governments round the world do everything possible to ensure energy security. They even go to war because of that. I don't understand how the citizens of this country will want to absolve to government of that basic responsibility. If they are not concerned then what is the function of government. What is government for. |
It is all about an atmosphere where private enterprise is allowed to own the economy, not government. How many times have we seen governments expend taxpayers money on transportation schemes that end up being money pits. They are never sustainable. They never turn a profit. They are never proper, self sustaining enterprises. If government cannot create an atmosphere for private sector prosperity then this zero sum economy cannot grow properly. They should focus on their core mandate which is economic resuscitation and which today boils down to lower Inflation, lower inflation, lower inflation. Governors posing in taxis in 2026 after 27 years of democracy is not growth. |
helinues:Barking up the wrong tree. Face the government not the people. Democracy is about people, not about kings or emperors. Ask this question. What are they angry about and relate that to.your bosses. You should be their eyes and ears to the ground. Your failure to paint the right pictures has caused them to fail. You are not helping the government you so cherish. |
boxypane:They are aware. They are the cause of the inflation that affects every cost in the country. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce this. I did warn three years ago about the cascading effects of unbridled inflation caused by fuel subsidy removal. A scenario this government should have prepared for before the act. We do not operate an intellectual government. |
Have no idea. I don't watch them. I don't watch Nigerian television. Adds nothing to me. |
Racoon:Didn't need to read more that the first two chapters. The summary is simple. There is just no substitute for a well run economy. What we have sent over the recent years is a polarisation of the economy. Various demographics are isolated for 'special treatment'. Everything from import duty waivers to students loans, to street level handouts are all patchwork of interventions aimed at breaking the desire and impetus for comprehensive economic repair and resolution of deep seated structural problems. Problems of inflation, lack of productivity, a persistent contracting and rent seeking subculture and many other millstones that will just let this country fly and rescue the vast majority from the trap of multidimensional poverty. This government just doesn't have the soul, the vision and the intellectual capacity to turn the fortunes of this country around and around for good as people of the world generally define and understand economic recovery to be. 'Projects and palliatives'. That is the A to Z of this governments economic blueprint and after three years it is patently evident that some just cannot stomach it any longer and are voting with their feet. |
cenaman:It is not a government agency. |
You are about to have a very, very bad day. |
My job, my profession, my business and the way I choose to run it is safe. AI will remain in assistance as long as your bum is not welded to a chair and your eyes glued to a screen. |
Hahahaha....pure pictorial definition of lapdog. You cannot draft a better screenplay for the trajicomedy called Nigeria politics.... ![]() Next is to get Wike stroking a white pussycat to show him badder than Enstavro Blofeld.....hahahaha.. |
RandDigital:There is no love there. She is just a contractor offering services of escape for the young man to flee this island of misery. You think she doesn't know there is no possibilty of a relationship here. Very soon the West will catch on and start placing embargoes on this sort of thing. A Bill will soon be passed limiting age differences. Just watch out. |
Just shameful what this country has reduced her citizens to. Stripped them of every iota of dignity. Returned them to the status of willing slavery. All just because they cannot organise th ms lives into a viable society.and governed themselves towards prosperity by agreeing common values. Just don't know whether to blame or pity them. Just pathetic. But they are part of the generation that will keep on adjusting. Finding new ways of catering for less and less until all they can afford is water to drink and then they go hide in a cupboard and kiss this sorry country and thei lives good bye. Youths, your mates in other nations fight when they are fed up of injustice and inequality, of lack and indignity fight for liberty and the right to prosperity, peace and the pursuit of happiness. Look at all of them. No w has any sort of joy written in their faces. Just relief the sad chapter will soon be over. |
Its the economy 'stupid'. That was how Clinton downed Bush Snr. The supporters of this government should realise that if people vote according to their situations, their conditions, their living stabdards...(which is the hallmark of most progressive democracies), they stand no chance. Even a donkey will not only landslide before noon but open a sinkhole under the ruling party. |
motionarena:How many strikers are there like those two. World class means you should be successful at what you do across borders, that is in different leagues and I think he has proven that. He has not been a flop or underwhelming in any league or cup he has played. Always the top scorer or there about. That is the definition of world class. |
AndroBlaze:Too high for most clubs and then the clock is ticking. His age means there will be very little resale value to recoup the investment. It is all about the numbers. |
Salary demands. Breaks the wage structure of a number of clubs that did want him at various times....Arsenal, United amongst a number. His second and last contract at Napoli is the cause of everything. They were desperate at that time to keep him after the league victory that he squeezed them for wages that were not sustainable to the club and the league, Serie A as a whole. It remains an issue with Gala as they struggled last season to pay him. |
Mariangeles:Nigerians are rather interested in contracts. 'Government give me 1 million to buy toilet rolls of N1,500 to supply to your loos, we share the loot...' That is what they are interested in. Deal making, not enterprise. |
RandDigital:But it is not as if Iran sat innocently within it's borders attending to it's people and they were attacked. What has it being doing in Syria, in Lebanon, in the WestBank, in Iraq for decades. Has it not been arming, funding, training forces of destabilization and insurgency. That is where their problems arise. They act as the Grand Protectors of the Shia sect wherever they are found. They sold illegal arms into Nigeria a few years ago. They don't keep to their borders and mind their business so they are everyone's business. It is all too easy to look at the elephant and define it by the prominent trademarks while ignoring the big picture. Iran is not a neutral party is world affairs. |
Runaway22:The history of the world is replete with wars of conquest and territorial gains and losses, of empires rising and falling. It will never end. We are viewing just a snapshot of civilisation at its brutish best. |
That is what I am saying. This problem does not have a solution. Israel's long term, ultimate goal is Jerusalem. An undivided capital. And see how they make haste despite the terrible timing. It appears the people and their government are preparing for a lifetime of confrontation, a generation of conflicting, a war without end. Best wishes to them. |
kingthreat:When an economy tanks, HSE goes to the dogs. They are like weeds in rainy season, mosquitos in a swamp...they just cannot be eradicated. When we say there is no alternative to a well run economy people think it is a joke. This country is going to pieces we be brick at a time. Leadership is completely failed. Totally out of touch with the reality of a decaying nation. |
aswani:Thank you. And the last collapse of the global economy was led by the US housing market bubble. Exactly the kind of thing we are talking about here. If China was that large an economy THEN when the Evergrande star exploded it will have caused global shockwaves too. The principal behind it is presently in a Chinese dock awaiting a mong prison sentence. People should learn organic economic growth. Be patient, content, faith filled and conscious of your economic health and the health of others around you. The safety of what you do and the environment you exploit in the process. To ensure all us done sustainably. So it all ends well. |
Blackman101:In my opinion debt is merely the greed of one party at the expense of another, generally the poorer party. Look at nations. Nigeria, the United States, all economies of the world. They borrow vast sums to share, to provide for certain interests, to back specific individuals, groups, corporations. But the debts are paid by all (the majority of whom are poor or of average means) through inflation and declining social services across board. Look at large corporations. They borrow to 'expand' indirectly from the citizens (the majority of whom are poor or of average means) who are given a miserly return compared to what is retained. A reason why most banks including the Nigerian ones report enormous profits often in total variance with the performance of the larger economy. I think the eventual collapse of the world economy once again. And it is coming (as it does cyclically) will be once again on the back of this thing called CREDIT, a simple but clear definition of man's insatiable greed. |
For a believing Christian debt is NOT A GOOD THING. To use it to amass for the purpose of being rich is being faithless and greedy, the root of all sorts of bad things. It is virtuous to grow things the way God created nature, that is patiently, persistently and sustainably. And when your time in this world is over, be known as one that has 'walked with God's as a co Creator, not a destructor of humanity by the temptations of wanting ALL at the expense of humanity. Truly it is near impossible for a rich man to be righteous. |
Imalwayshorny:Then shoot him in broad daylight on the streets like a stray dog.... ![]() Was it not their Oga, the IG who just days ago pronounced the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in extra judicial killings, or mob action, aka 'jungle justice'. And here before the ink had dried on his 'Executive Order', his boys have already tested his resolve. Isn't this just an astonishing country.? |
lordm:For the growth figures to really impact lives, inflation has to ease significantly. In very basic, elementary theory plus 4.5 minus 15 leaves a deficit of 20.5 percent. In effect Nigerians are getting poorer in real terms by 10 percent this year. If your salary or productivity does not exceed this on a regular basis you will be worse off by December compared to the start of the year . |
Racoon:Really. Did he tag is a 'natuonal.concern'? What part of this sordid drama am I part of and determined to shield as a Nigerian. What part of any expose or tunneling will be of concern to me...except the fact of the matter itself, not the cloak and dagger dramatics surrounding it. No one forced Mr. Tinubu to vie for public office and the highest office in the land is where accountability expands from your state and it's clans.to folks from other parts that really want to KNOW YOU, know who their President is. If there is any concern it.is.that a foreign government.has some sort of leverage on our President. The kind of concern Americans had when speculations of Donald Trump's connections to Russia and the potential leverage that adversarial country had on them. We should be concerned the leverage the US government has via this issue and it calls for Legislative action, a serious inquiry, if we are a democracy of accountability. I just hope this is an awakening call for the future of this democracy. That we begin to take issues of the person, the process and the principles correct.going forward. And I hope.this serves as a heads-up to.our future leaders. Watch what you do. |
Tenses:Absolutely not. Finals are always games of chances and opportunities. The midfield did enough in containing PSG's. Their goal came from the wing. Kvara v Mosquera, not the middle. Arsenal has a notorious habit of not pressing their advantage and going for more against the biggest teams and this was the case. And it is all down to the lack of an out ball, a point man who presses from the front and occupies opposing defenders. Kai is not such a person or a presence. He is more of a striker of opportunity than a striker of occupation, domination. So the defenders did not mind his presence throughout the match and played comfortably out from the back. Can you do that with a Haaland or an Osimen or a Lewandoski of a few years ago. These players tie down defenders and make it difficult playing from the back. PSG had a field day playing out the back. That is the weakness of the false nine system. |
Mryacks:I don't know why Lautaro crimes to mind. If you watch this guy for Inter on any good day, you see a classic top 9. His goal instinct is second to none. Seriously devastating striker you dare not give a second. But maybe slowing down a bit as age catches up. When a Technical Director hoed shopping for a CF, that is what to look for. Not one million goals but technical ability. |
