Kai, but Eurocopters are the gold standard for chopper design and build. So it must be the flying in mountainous regions which has always been the chopper's nemesis. Sudden weather changes are always around the corner. Condolences to those affected. |
Political patronage that's all. It is not about work. If they want to change a light bulb they will still ask for contract tenders. |
KINGKONG:Projects, projects, projects. This is now the yardstick to define the performance of government. It is no longer administration, no longer service delivery. Projects because it is synonymous with CONTRACTS which everyone loves. I give you ten naira and you build me a shop, I give you twenty naira and you supply it with goods. To us these days that is governance, that is the priority we expect of those that we vote into leadership. We judge them by how many contacts they award. It is all about money, money and more money. But if we took governance as seriously as we take our individual businesses, what is our priority. The shop, the goods or the sale, the trade. What forms the successful engineering of a business, of an economy. If Dangote executed his refinery and then sat down and said to himself, it is all done, I am through. Will he still be in business...Look at how he has become a success. The noise is not about the contracts he advertises, nor the loans he took, not even the refinery as a project itself. All that umph has faded. The issue to him and us and this country is about the products he sells and the resources he realizes and the dominance he wields and to us the hope of a better energy experience. That is the point of all that. So for the customs to realize great revenue and hand it over to government to execute great projects, to me is just a tool, not the end and all of governance, if the revenues and projects do not cause this country to do I ate one thing or the other or prosper the citizens. To me, it is all about the money to them. Great news for those who are privileged to take our if it. |
Is there any reason why I should. I don't sink my teeth into rubbish in the name of food. This is for those who consume dangerous stuff or consume stuff dangerously. |
Exousiang01:So how did Uganda manage to have two....Uganda....Uganda. Just look at Nigeria in context to Uganda in every metric.,..it is such a shame. The so called fourth largest economy in Africa that last hosted an international sporting event how many decades ago. Even WAFU tournaments cannot be held here. We are too busy doing other things....chasing 'contracts' and diverting/siphoning resources. |
Racoon:The 'patriots' and 'everything is working fine' gangs will come for you. Nigerians just do not want to face the fact that we are in terminal decline. We love lies, we worship paradoxes. We have managed to assemble in one country some of the lowest quality people calling themselves citizens on earth. We cannot successfully manage anything, organise anything, cultivate anything, sustain anything. The Nigerian factor, home and abroad, just dismal. |
alizma:To prove that this country is not in decline...getting much worse. Even Buhari's government characterized by poor performance across board was received in almost every capital city abroad in his infamous 'round the world in 80 days' drama. The present leader can no longer move around as he used to the in his first few months in office since the dastardly revelations of an attempted coup. You can hardly call that progress. Looking more like beginnings of the siege situation of a typical dictatorship. Even within Nigeria he doesn't show up anywhere anymore. |
FatimaAbubakar:'Drug Daddy'...c'mon, he's the President. This is not good. |
How can you have a stronger naira and stable economy when you are paid N80,000 to do that....knowing that tomorrow they will tell you they don't have noney to do the things that matter. Do Nigerians think at all. That your actions are part of the 'instability', the kind of things that brought us here in the first place. With all the money we see and hear being tossed around in crass politicking, Nigerians should ask themselves this pertinent question. Are we in austerity or not. Because this government knows how to throw money around with one hand and is busy begging the people to be lenient and understanding with the other. |
spafu:They are just going round blackmailing anyone from that part that even hints at having a contrary position. In the mass media, on the net, everywhere. To them a south westerner MUST not oppose the President....and this is called a democracy.... So let everyone vote according to tribe and let us see by the Constitution who will be declared winner....never been this bad. |
Tribal, clannish politicking everywhere you look. Never been this bad, Obj, Yaradua, Jonathan and even Buhari did not have people OPENLY coming out to say they will not oppose because he was a Fulani man. And guess what, all the folks above had their most vociferously opposition and most dogged critics from within their zones and even tribes. This country is headed nowhere near unity and the kind of detribalised structure needed for real progress and true development. Just pity the South East because the way things are going they may not stand a chance at the top job in this millennia because there is not one within that supports the other over others without that zone. |
I think India has to start profiling folks before visa issuance. This is getting out of hand. Ah, ah...what is it biko. |
Who else was eagerly awaiting the breakdown so that we can verify those 'great' things done with our blood, sweat and tears these few years, the year 3 A.S....alas, they tossed it into the wicker basket called 'sharing formula' and.....it has all disappeared without a trace. Revenue is NEVER the problem of Nigeria. Give us the American budget and China revenues combined, you will still need a microscope to find where it has all gone. |
Streetinvestor2:I mean. if you are alright, of high fidelity then you want the matter cleared up and put to bed asap. Not dragging the country's balls all over the media hot coals. |
My only problem with this is just how much taxpayers money is going into all these cross border legal squabbles. Last regime it with the fitness of the President that cost this country a lot out of the scare resources for development. This time around the baggage is of a different kind. Can Nigerians just do themselves a favour next time and elect people that travel light. We simply cannot afford all these shenanigans. |
HacheNoire:Go for quality so you don't need spares. |
Artiiclebeast:Exactly what I said yesterday. This is an enormous stash. No way on earth can you take this much out or bring it into any country in Europe without being detected. Just cannot happen. Folks on both sides of the transit are involved. There are co conspirators here and in the destination airport. NDLEA should grill him and tap INTERPOL to get up and running. The haste to splash his face all over may have bungled a major cartel bust. |
A certain Minister of all manner of Works is not on the group chat. He is busy getting his....massaged... ![]() |
OredoPikin:60 billion popped up in Osun a few days ago and the people collected their 'share of development' in cash. They liquidated their 'mutual funds' ahead of maturity. |
35...? Are you sure....as Defence Minister....very reckless. |
seunmsg:Totally agree. There is no reason why they shouldn't challenge one another. In the UK, Reform is not in government yet they receive more brick than the Labour party in power from all and sundry. Nigerians are overly too sensitive to opposing views. Just don't know why. They have first class attackers but zero defence, how do you win tournaments with that setup, no way. Anyone aspiring for power and all the privileges it provides in these parts should be made to pay a steep price, Obi and Atiku are no exceptions. We want to know EVERYTHING |
Honestly, there are things so irritating that overloads your 'puke-o-meter' you just want to run for the loo. Can you imagine this bullcrap... You are a total failure and you want to continue...to do what...to torture Nigerians. He was presented severally with the opportunity to salvage things about the national teams yet stuck to his guns and crashed. In the middle of a tournament the Ivorian FA replaced their foreign coach and went on to lift the Nations Cup. You sat there and did nothing, watching the stubborn coach repeating his mistakes time and again, only to sack him after the damage had been done....and you want to continue...to rig the elections....win 'unpopularly' and perpetuate failure for another four years.....kai, what a mess. |
No thanks. High inflation means that I will only be able to get that car back at a higher price than I sold it for. Except if I have a venture yielding a higher than inflation return the cash is practically useless. Or I just want to dispose of it because I am that desperate. A bad economy affects EVERYONE. Assets are voluntarily been frozen all over the place because to thaw them means to lose them. |
AsomughaChuks02:It is up to the state to ensure it is not a 'Fulani' thing. It is first and foremost a business, an industrial location not a cultural theme park. I don't know why we just cannot escape the tribal shackles holding us down. Anyone should be able to go into that place and practice, trade in the raising of livestock. Afterall the Fulani will tell you that a good proportion of the animals they raise belong to non Fulani. We can do better than to stereotype professions, vocations and business interests. The Enugu state government should encourage it's indigenes to venture into the field and practice animal husbandry alongside the traditional pastoralists. That may lead to trust, understanding and solidarity in the long run. |
Slippy:It should not be like that. The land should rather be leased from the communities for a specific, long term period in a purely commercial transaction and subject to renewal. The government runs the facilities in a PPP mod l for efficiency. And just like other public facilities no one is given permanent residence or ownership. This should be made clear to all involved in the MOU to avoid future problems. I hope they have also done a thorough EIA study. Ranches not done well can be environmentally damaging in ways that cannot be ordinarily reversed. |
I think it is a good idea. I suppose the land is leased by the communities to the State government and the facilities run as a PPP....just like every other public facility such as markets, motorparks, free trade zones or ports of one kind or the other. |
I heard that Infantino and Motsepe will not intervene on condition the FIFA man will be supported in his own reelection bid.. Guess Nigeria's predicament can be solved by corruption at the highest levels.. What a time to be alive. |
Stanna2025:I really don't know where you guys want the church to stand. In business or out of business, in politics or out of politics. They care, it is a problem, they do not....another problem. They convert every space to churches instead of factories, now they venture into one factory....guess what, problem. Right from the early church Christians have always worked and been part of society. The full time church leader and member has not always been the case. Even early monks worked various skills and knowledge to support their causes and ministries and a wide range of discoveries, developments and technologies applicable today came out of the church. As long as the gospel remains at the front and centre of their calling, they should be let to advance the course of humanity. PS: If this is profit making, which I seriously doubt,. won't it put less pressure on 'offering and tithe' hating 'Christians' and scoffers out there....just my two cents |
This is the real definition of plastic surgery. When a guy who used to make mannequins in plastic thinks himself a surgeon.... ![]() |
What I can't wrap my head around. He went to the airport with that huge consignment, literally a truck load of narcotics hoping to walk through without detection or what... And then enter a foreign country with this same consignment... undetected....what was he thinking....or is there something beyond this fool's errand. Thee is no way on earth he could have succeeded this long if this was his modus without a conspiracy somewhere and on both sides of his journey. |
Count Ribadu out please. The slaughter across the Mddle-Belt is continuing unabated and no one has heard him speak, visit or tend to anything concerning the systemic genocide going on there, or is that not defined as insecurity in the same lingo as banditry and insurgency in the far north...? And as for the CBN chief what is he saying about the persistently untenable high rate of inflation that he cannot cool in three years? |
So this thing is really true. Gosh, what a shameful.way to live. So who are they here.... |
