I did it for 2 months and realised that even the people I called friend, even my babe, them run leave me, from refusing to take my calls to stylishly avoiding anything that will make her visit me. At that point, I started being on the lookout for myself and started valuing myself more. I don't care if they say I'm stingy or something.

You have allowed the actions of others dehumanize you, strip you of your remarkable values, the end result of which is a broken society where everyone is scattered and easily picked off by predators.

Don't be a little minded man.
That is life.
That is the TRUE meaning of love.
That is the the test of sacrifice.
To expect NOTHING in return, EVER.

One of the most inspirational quotes that came to me a long while ago and has stuck with me for life, goes:

"A relationship can only be at rest when one party ACCEPTS to be subservient to the other"

And this truism concerns every kind of relationship that exists. From that of God and man, husband and wife, between business partners and even soccer team mates. One of the party MUST CONTINUE to make the sacrifice for that relationship to be at peace, at rest.

The idea that there is equality in relationships is just fairy tales. We are created to make sacrifices. We are created out of sacrifice.

You had accepted this role but have FAILED the test of rest. I suggest you get back to doing what made that relationship work and ignore everything else or go down like folks in the West in a blaze of selfishness onto broken homes and destroyed psyches.

Don't try to get her to equity.
It is the nature of humanity.

Abdulsalam did his 6 months and left despite pressure for him to continue.
That pressure could have led to a complete breakdown of law and order. He made the right choice. International sanctions were crippling the economy and it was only matter of time before we will be blocked from selling oil which will have meant complete disaster. No military government after Abacha will have survived without serious violence.

Well, to cut him some slack.
The situation around his leadership did not allow for much governance. National cohesion and stability was the objective then and a swift return to democracy. It was more about politics than governance.

However he and his colleagues could have done a lot more with the inadequate Constitution bestowed on this country.

He, above every other living leader had the best opportunity to restructure this country because at the time the destructive forces of ethnicity and religion besetting this country were evenly matched by a dire need for cohesion and solidarity to prevent total national implosion.

It was at this juncture he could have constituted a national conference to chart a new way forward. No one or any group will have resisted a restructuring. That opportunity he missed.

So history will praise him for resisting the temptation to extend military rule but rather more circumspect about a country he had every opportunity to restructure before handing over.

Those fundamental problems he could not tackle are front and centre of our challenges as a nation today, problems our kind of democracy is just not equiped to handle.

we dont even have the money to achieve that
Very easy.
The PIA was supposed to detach the NNPC from government but it is still acting like a parastatal, not a proper LTD. Why can't this government do exactly that. Properly privatise it, or better still go the Aramco way and put it up for public patronage so that you and I could for the first time benefit from our assets.

But the won't b cause they want the NNPC to remain a closed, shady entity for all the bad reasons.

Get Ajaokuta up and running, and put it up for public sale and all the government assets that are presently liabilities.

If the PHCN was a public company instead of a defacto private one, it will have done a lot better. The issues affecting service delivery will have been better understood and resources and solutions more widely available.

Those are the things government can do without lifting a finger. Get their assets to work for them and the people creating wealth across board.

Tinubu is and will never be a failure. It's just amazing how we call our leaders failure when we don't even have the metrics to measure them.
For one, political failure means the inability to keep YOUR OWN promises. The things you said you will accomplish that people believes and thus voted for you.

Secondly, as a politician, the things you criticised past governments about creating an atmosphere that you will do better if given the opportunity particularly banking on your own history in public service. It is like political fraud. Posing as something, to get something but ended up different.

And all this is because democracy as a system puts you on a stopwatch from the time you are sworn in till the time you have to submit your test papers. You are given exactly four years to do everything you said.

Sometimes like in written or oral educational examinations the examiner may score you well based on intent. He can see you know it just that you probably didn't have enough time to present it properly.

Intent can also get a politician reelected if he can show what we call in these parts 'workings'.

So where are the promised achievements of this government or where are the workings to show intent in all the critical areas Nigerians care about. Remember...tick tock...tick tock...tick tock...

That is why abroad they go in looking normal and leave office looking far older than their ages....here to hey come out fresher and younger because they practically do no work or worrying.

Mr. Obi.
Mr Nnamdi Kanu's detention makes a lot of sense to the establishment and to the state. The charges and conviction are in line with the allegations.

The problem here is simple. The failure of eastern leaders to make his case a political one rather than a criminal one right from the get go.

There was no concerted effort at making his case as one of agitation for equity and justice, the foundation of the movement.

The people and leadership of the Niger Delta managed the militancy to the extent no one is in the slammer today for the deaths and destruction of that period, rather a half hearted amnesty and a few carrots have been dangled to quieten the movement.

But where are the equivalent of the Ijaw elders that engaged with the polity and acted as mediators....

By trying to make this an election issue you have just given your opponents a stick with which to beat you. They will make his case about you and not about the East in general. They will side step the issues and make you the lightning rod.

FIFA should have made it clear to teams what is possible and what isn't and except they can get the teams diplomatic passports I cannot see first world countries breaking their own laws simply because hey are hosting international events.

I mean these countries host a lot of events in the course of a typical year from concerts, exhibitions, sports events, high profile meetings. They break the law for one, they break the law for all and trust me lawyers are just waiting for such loopholes.

Partey is even lucky his case is already in the judicial pipeline, if not he may have been arrested as per international warrants issued for fugitives. These guys at the borders listen to news. Their Intel is top notch.

SlavaUkraini:
Because Peter Obi is afraid of his Supporters

He cannot call them to order, when it is obvious that they are wrong...

That is weak leadership...
But is leadership in a democracy not supposed to fear followership.

This is the exact problem we have in black Africa. A complete misconception about how societies are built. The thinking that leadership MUST BE FEARED. That leadership that is NOT FEARED, IS WEAK.

Who taught you folks this.
Is there anyone in the White House, in the Republican party, in the US government that fears President Donald Trump....or PM Starmer of the UK or Macron of France....or leaders of other democratic nations...

What they have is respect for the office, and for the person if he is of good conduct. But fear.... that is for dictators and autocrats, the Putin's, the Xi's. Not for someone who perhaps lived on my street, came to my house to ask me to help him into power and a few days later I become terrorized by him. That is not leadership.

And that is why today the people are at the mercy of those they elect as supposed servants. Because they cannot see themselves as the owners of democracy, the drivers of democracy. So the benefits never get to them who own controlling shares in their country.

Please oh, renew your mind about what democracy means.

I am not an Obidient. I don't have a voters card and have never voted and probably never will. Bit if that man ever happens to be elected, I do sincerely hope he continues to fear the people who put him there and by so doing, do their bidding, not his. Do their agenda, not his, prosper them and not himself and his family alone, leaving a people that cannot hold him to account stranded.

Please Obidients, donot allow anyone enslave you. Keep on putting pressure on anyone and everyone aspiring to lead. Let him who wants to be held captive to any tin god remain imprisoned. It is their choice.

Why are opinionated people such a threat to you folks.

You sit here and admire democracies in the West. How free speech and diverse opinions have shaped and developed them.

But back home it cannot be tolerated. We must have regimented societies where boy scout rules reign aka follow the leader.

We rejoice when our much hated Donald Trump is opposed on the streets, opposed in the courts, opposed in the Legislature, opposed in the polity, opposed by celebrities, opposed here and there. We say, yes that is democracy in action.

But here at home we are totally outraged at the thought of having same. Here, dissent is tantamount to rebellion, criticism is now termed 'hatred', and in the case of the 'headless mob', it means such associations cannot win elections as they are bad for democracy......

I just wonder, what kind of democracy do.you folks mean. See Oshiomhole in the Legislature yesterday. Pressing to have people accountable. But the very institution of principal accountability will have none of it. They want silence which to me is just acquiescence, the failure of society.

How.

You want to own their hearts, their consciences and even their mouths.

Oga, it is you that is the danger.
You want totalitarian rule, which I call feudalism.

You want their support, not their opinions and you call that democracy....

I have been saying this.
Black Africa cannot get its nations to form viable societies. It is either autocracy or nothing as viewed both by leaders and supporters alike.

Here our NFF has acted like that toddler that lets out a banging fart but pretends it is someone else.

Yeah.

The leadership recruitment process that established the Heads of all sporting organisations and associations is obviously where the problem lies.

The NFF elections for instance is similar to political party congresses enmeshed in secrecy, from candidature to the ballot. The organisation is run like a secret society despite the fact that it operations affect millions of people that have no say in it.

Little wonder it just cannot free itself from the recurring stench of corruption that afflicts both it and its senior cousin FIFA.
