Putinofrussia:Insecurity, you call it legacy... Economic distress, you call it global.... I really then want to know and understand what are the responsibilities of government. Because if EVERYTHING is not his fault and NOTHING is his responsibility. Then what are people who want these things solved going to vote him for. You expect people just to vote him in because.....of what... Ha e you seen a company or business man employing staff just for employment sake. Is it not to do the work of productivity and troubleshooting with the aim of growing and prospering the business of enterprise. If you as a CEO had your highly paid staff say this to your face. That the problems of the company causing it to literally tank are 'legacy' and there is no solution because of global economics, what will you do with him... I keep in saying this. You folks who are close to this man and his government, perhaps benefit from it, love it to bits...why can't you reach out to it for a little advice, why can't you tell them the simple truth. Do you lie to someone or about something you love and cherish. Do you not want it to succeed. Why do you folks gain by deceiving your dear government that all is well and they are on track when you know in your heart it is not. Why are supporters of this government not at the forefront of giving it direction and impetus if you truly want it to succeed. |
HacheNoire:Yes it is. '13 more charact....' |
HacheNoire:Temporarily until the new pair of Boeing's arrive from 2028 they said. The US Congress is not happy about it but Mr. Trump has arm twisted then into accepting this stop gap on a count of the high and escalating cost of the new aircraft, 5.6 billion for the pair compared to the 400 million spent on the Qatari 'gift'. The future President is unlikely to touch it. |
chicfarmer:Well the plane actually belongs to the US Airforce like a good number Presidential Air Transports round the world including Nigeria. So technically the President doesn't own the plane but the American taxpayer. |
Yeah, badly needed. The 200 series is seriously aged although there will be little semblance of the original aircraft after many years of upgrades. Trust them to have gone through the Qatari aircraft with a fine tooth comb to ensure nothing clandestine or inimical has been hidden in it to make it a modern day, 21 century Trojan Horse. |
The problem now is that the boy survived. Given time and care this terrible episode will ebb from his memory....until the almighty internet sometime, somewhere in some distant time to come will bring all that torment back to him and if he has not been purged of all that hurt.... The internet is great on historicals.... some, but not every album is positive. |
tiswell:Depends on the transfer market. If you guys cannot eject those freeloaders scattered throughout the club you will find it nigh impossible to defend the crown. |
Professional sports is so crazy. You barely rest with a crown before it fades into history and you have to start all over again. By August everything Arsenal went through will be forgotten barely 90 days after it ended with ticker tape, champagne and back slapping. |
Rinse and repeat. Their business. What happens in Iran stays in Iran. The world should not be interested. If any Iranian seeks liberty they should leave the country, period. No one should intervene in that place again. Like Afghanistan that fought against democracy in favour of theocracy, no one is bothering them again. When the people's will to be free reaches a critical mass then the country will become too hot for everyone. Till then leave them and their mullahs the hell alone. |
Willy2025:Not a place to be kidnapped and taken on a safari.... |
Anything Nigerians culture for themselves will be their experiences. If they decide they are not interested in knowing how democracy works, it will never work for their good. Just collect and continue your poverty. |
Thank you JD. Just the reality. This eye for an eye thing is Old Testament. Even God Almighty has abandoned it. If he was in support He will not have any creation left to worship Him because man and offences are inseparable. People must be ready to sit down and talk out their political differences. No one will have it all. |
It is only Trump that has affected everyone else in the world including everyone on that plane. I am certain everyone else has mentioned his name both in public and in private. |
Heard this debate yesterday and a thought occured to me. Yes, dairy suffers from the 'long trek'. The sheer amount of calories burnt and the limited time at rest and recovery leads to paltry milk production. In effect t we don't have dairy cows. For beef cattle however I dare say I will liken our cattle breeding to free range poultry keeping. And the effects are leaner but healthier meat production. The burn a lot of calories on the trek leading to less fatty tissue and just like free range poultry have a more diverse diet leading to tastier beef products without the use of steroids and hormones. Our cattle management bears more semblance to the traditional south American model which is somewhere in between the extremes of free range and complete confinement. They graze of extensive estates of thousands of hectares on indigenous forage highly nutrient rich. I think this should be the model we should adopt. |
Southy shutting up Continental haters. Haba....it's too much na.... ![]() |
jetguy:Which predicament. You have a smart phone and data and still doing this shameful thing.... This is the greed that has messed up this country from citizens and supporters all the way up the food chain. Those packs of whatever are the mandatory things the governor has done. Anything else he does between now and the end of his tenure is entirely of his own good will. No one can hold him to account on anything. He has settled everybody and should not be troubled to do any more. |
MarketDispatch:Hmmm... story. If we were downhill since independence, that crazy move was the hangman's trap door dropping. It was the stupidest thing this country had ever done since independence. 45 years later we are running all over the world like headless chickens looking for foreign investors without any iota of success. And to rub salt into injury, look at the country we mortgaged our own economy for, chasing us out... The British, Americans and the Dutch will be laughing their heads off. |
Osiris12:CS is by far the safer option. |
mrvitalis:They will come for you. Why do you think they like contracts that much. It is the easiest route to corruption. You can alter bills, alter rates, alter specifications, alter quality of service and not a single person outside the loop will be aware. That is why they run from the HARDWORK of investment in production, productive enterprises for tangible goods, works and services. Because these are naturally accountable, measurable and open to assessment. In contracting you get the money before the work so the interested parties easily cash out. Real cash. While in real, productive things you only get the money after the work, after tangible things are made, done, served or delivered. And a good chunk of today's inflation is traceable to yesterday's inflated contracts. Ask contractors to deliver and then collect payment via utility aka BOT and watch 99 percent of them including their government aides disappear. |
Misterone:Because he who pays the piper dictates the tune. Just as you can weaponize poverty, you can also weaponize obligations. Do we know what judges are due that hasn't been given to them...no. Because there are no mechanisms for redress. They go cap in hand just like any parastatal to get their dues and it is at that meeting point anything can happen. |
Blunt99:Exactly. The Judiciary should have their own money directly from the treasury. The Legislature should be financed directly by the people. |
Lifestone:The nation is best served with an independent budget for the Judiciary drawn as a statutory first line charge from the treasury. The best way to do it is to to set the charge as a fixed percentage of national income. So when he economy does well their budget rises and they have a jolly time and when the economy tanks they go into poverty as well so that they are left to think about what they helped to sink it. Obviously such allocations must be audited and subject to same scrutiny as other public accounts so their heads do not steal or misuse the resources of the many. I will further suggest that the budget of the National Assembly be given entirely to the Judiciary. Nigeria as a state should not be paying the way for the Legislature. They are primarily representatives of the people. The people should pay for their representation 100 percent. |
jamafa:There is no 'market' as far as the oil industry in Nigeria is concerned. 'Market forces' in the true sense of it do not exist. It is what the producers and importers dictate that we end up buying it. A classic sellers scenario. To create that price moderating 'force' in the case of petroleum products you need to introduce a third party with the capability of hedging. That is a party able to buy what is doesn't need and selling what it doesn't have inorder to neutralize the forces of demand and supply. Those are the 'forces' of demand and supply. But on my own I can't go to a gas station and force them to sell to me at my desired price except with a gun. That kind of force is jail bound. |
Kukutente23:Arrrrgh.... ref. That is below the belt. But in reality. If you want to have proper economic control over a thing you need to set up a market place for it. |
Hemanwel:They told you why. The key reason is the cost of energy. It takes energy to send consistent, quality signals. Energy your government refuses to prioritize. |
Maj196:Government is putting pressure on them to lay more eggs, the economy is putting pressure on them by reducing the quality of feed. What do you want the chicken to do....make eggs from wishful thinking. We are yet to know how to work this democracy to better our lives. We better go to school or experience pressure all our lives. |
Nice. Next time you hear the word inflation, you run. Twenty years ago a tarrif review will typically take upwards of three years. Now, we have had one review this year in addition to this proposal. Continue down this inflationary road and the operators will be calling for reviews every market day. The tariffs will be Livestreamed like on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Told you folks what to demand for. |
How a people think is how a country becomes what it is. |
What a week of political foot shooting. |
Ha. Then you are certainly not ready to lead. Leadership is ALSO about inspiration. That is getting people to do things you cannot possibly do by yourself owing to a dearth of resources. To tackle this power crises you have to be as inspirational.as Adolph Hitler. You've got to get the people to go over and beyond their possibilities and be willing to make the prime sacrifices to get it done. This starts by telling them EXACTLY HOW YOU WISH TO GET THERE. Mr. Obi. This is not leadership. Spare a little time for governance issues. Too much politics is beginning to wear you down. |
Naso Mr. IMF. It is 'sustainable' when Mr. Nigeria is spending half his salary to pay interest on the gbese he enjoys. Not the principal oh....interest, interest, interest....oh I am spending half my salary to ensure my properties are not confiscated by my creditors and it is okay.....okay ooooooh. |
