This is not good. Very degrading. The whole concept of a sporting fiesta is being lost to this siege mentality gripping America today. I suppose in future FIFA will be asking potential host nations whether they intend to launch wars or provoke wars in the years close to their mundial. |
dederocs:I still don't understand a system where a 'Federal' security organisation will apprehend, a 'Federal' prosecutor will charge what is supposedly a Federal crime and then the death warrants has to be e excecuted by the state governor. What am I missing here and what do I not understand. That death sentence will probably never be executed. And why did it have to take this long for justice to be served. What cannot be accomplished in a month maximum after apprehension. By now the corpse should have returned to dust. The fight against terror must be sure and swift. |
edogu:No, Olise is French. We are represented at the World Cup by Burna Boy. He is Nigerian. |
OriOko88:Soccer is fast becoming a black man's game. |
OriOko88:Such records cannot possibly stand forever with the constant expansion of the World Cup and the more games that are available to be played. |
Looks odd but things happen. I fired my first shot from a rifle age 13 and my first shell from a howitzer age 16....looking back it seems a bit odd.... Some folks just grow up a lot quicker. Lewis Hamilton started his racing career at age 8, for context. |
GodHimself:Hmmm....the lagoon blues.. However I am totally in support of deportation of illegal immigrants. A society that cannot put a handle on every man, woman or child walking the streets is signing up for serious insecurity crises. Nigeria is a classic example. |
Find out where he lives and where his offices are and picket them. That is how it is done in saner climes. By the time he has to wade through a sea of journalists and protesters day after day to get out of his house and into his chambers, he will never try such again. His wife will plead for him to take early retirement. |
CodeTemplar:Resources are not in the ground. They are in the mind. They tell you what they will pay for your resources. Do you tell them what you want to pay for the products of their thinking. |
The smartest person is always the boss. How did you come to this conclusion. |
SixSeven:That man was a real leader. When you look across the length and breath of Nigeria's sad history he is about head and shoulders over the rest. |
Curious345:State police is not an execution squad to satisfy any blood lust. They will/should be guided by any other exacting standards as any other police services in the world....the civilized world. Any way the truth is that armed police is only a fraction of the overall strength of any police service. I suggest the bulk of resources is dedicated to investigation, intelligence and communications. If you have a superb communication network and a rapid response framework you can actually reduce the number of guns on the streets or in the bushes. |
If he was wise he will give a healthy portion back. To some charity or social cause. That will really endear a few more local folks. |
Dotherightthing:That is the precise issue at play here in Plateau that the judge is ruling against. I think it will become universal across the country perhaps not today or tomorrow but certainly in decades to come. And in my opinion that is when Nigeria will become truly united. Those seeking ethnic enclaves are fighting the last stand, battles they will end up losing. |
Okay first things first.... Justice what....tell me it ain't so.... ![]() Now, to the less important matter. Why can't we have such courts in almighty Lagos where this same issue is of paramount importance. Justice is really not equal in Nigeria. What is the use of the Legislature when such issues cannot be resolved peacefully because it is lawful and acceptable by all. |
'Yes, I know....yes, I know...' is the sound of a third world country's engine room. |
Dalohad:You understand the typical Nigerians Crabs in a bucket. They are either telling you the malaise existed before their principal was born so you should shut up or that everyone is doing it so you should get used to it. Claim the gold of change, deliver the dross of depravity. Country keeps on decaying by the year. |
Pootle:Here we go again. This horse is nearly dead from flogging. |
Poor woman. So sorry for what she has gone through. Nigeria owes this woman lots of love and care. She should not suffer anything for the rest of her life. Honestly we can do better as a nation. This just cannot continue. |
Well, Mr. ADC. 'If they go low....you go... shut up Michelle.... we go low too....' |
BigYash:There is a growing body of information about his 'businesses'. But for now, no comment. |
Oga, this is 2026, roads and flyovers no longer dazzle and hoodwink. Please raise the bar to sound economic policies that filter down and affect all. Every government since independence no matter how wretched has built a few roads. Abacha 'the hated' did more infrastructure through the PTF that is unmatched till today. I am sure NADECO will not have voted to keep him in power for that reason alone. |
Normal feudal moves of an autocracy. And all others that were there before him should retire like senior military personnel when their junior is made to head because of his tribal alignment. The simple reason why leaders cannot gain the real support of the citizens, the genuine solidarity amongst the polity, amongst supposed colleagues. They say leadership is all about sacrifice. Not here. They cannot make the sacrifice of self, ignore the crass privileges of office. No. They have WORKED for success so they must take it all. For them, their families and friends. Whatever crumbs are left can be shared by the faithful peons. |
I think it's B....or just a bit more than B, |
Jorussia:If this President cannot address the economic hardship he cannot tackle insecurity. The bad economy is the fuel that runs insecurity through desperation and compromises. Desperation on the part of those at the fringes of society who cannot 'manage' and compromises by both civilians and uniformed men and women that look the other way for a fee. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that nexus. But it takes a pretentious person to ignore it. |
omoredia:Well that is the essence of state police. Whichever state decides to harbour criminals will make it's territory ungovernable and with that unlivable and become an economic wilderness for lack of investment and by the time fiscal federalism kicks in that will be the end. They will be one insolvent and cease to exist. |
It is a very hard decision because of this north-south rotational candidacy. It is certain he doesn't want to emerge on the wrong side of history as he is contending with almost every other political party that has fielded a southerner. I just pity him. Do and you are damned, do not and you are damned as well. Will have lived to see him contend for the top seat. He is a man of deeper intellect. One you can actively engaged for solutions. |
NovusHomo:No, 'SANER CRIME'.... The person that reported to the police could as well have gone third world and called her to share the loot. She will gladly have split it 50/50 rather than lose it all and practically end her life in prison. Mark you, in Federal custody, time is time. |
loadman:Hahahaha... that is Nigeria where people are employed with a predisposition to steal. Where a politician will tell you OPENLY that he is there to make money. And you are thinking to yourself, make money from whom?. It is just like you are waiting at a doctors' appointment and he walks in and says, I hope you have come to die here... a complete antithesis. |
Eba50:What did I say yesterday. |
Rapmoney:Jeez, what the hell is this. |
