He wasn't and couldn't have been the only one, but he led a very successful unit.

You don't have to be bitter about it. It's ok. There should not have been war in the first place. As for Adekunle role, it was just simple and straight forward. Infact, war can solely be won on propaganda alone and so there was nothing wrong giving  interview during war in as much that it would not endanger your troops.

Honestly, in a warfare, you should not expect help and to be specific food from the very enemy you are fighting. It's just logical.
One thing you seem not to understand is that, majority of the people killed by the federal fighters were civilians. I mean civilians not military personnel.
Except you want me to believe civilians can be killed in war by opposing forces. If it is done with intent then it is pure genocide like what He(Adekunle) boastfully said.

He was a well trained soldier and clearly understood that in war, all is justified. He knew the key weakness of Biafra as declared and promptly worked on it.
He wasnt the only one fighting the war. But he kept making statements that would put him behind bars or possibly an execution!
Did you see any othe persons making lousy statements like the way He did?
If there's one, put it up!

He had so much joy and pride starving igbos and killing everything including the lifeless in Igboland. Is that normal thing to do?
Anywhere, He is now, He will live in nightmares for life. Let him keep shut for life!

^^^^Was he normal when He said all those. There's a clear difference between a trained soldier and a tout who brandishes a gun.
bayooooooo:
"Okay," he beamed, "the Germans just know how war works. Tonight there is a front-party in my headquarters. You will come! An order is an order!"

This interview with the most important man in the Nigerian war took place at night. Whisky and beer were abundant, uniformed go-go girls played DJ, Adekunle danced and petted his mascot, a small mountain goat named "Ojukwu".

STERN: Your friends in the federal government of Lagos call you the "bloodhound of Nigeria". You are chasing a whole people. You kill everything.

ADEKUNLE: Europeans are awful. They always generalize. My troops have kept prisoners. You have had a chance to convince yourself of this.

STERN: I only saw one prisoner, a fifteen-year old boy.

ADEKUNLE: There you are! In addition I want to emphasize that we do not murder all people who no longer want to remain members of the Nigeria Federation.

STERN: Does that mean that you do not want the extinction of the Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: The nation which the Ibos founded under the name of Biafra on May 30, 1967 is not a pure Ibo-federation. You Europeans should really know that by now. Seven million Ibos and five million other population groups are living now in the 80% overpopulated Biafra: Ibibios, Ijaws, Kalabaris, Ekios, Efiks, and Annangs. These minority populations in the Ibo nation have always hated the Ibos. Therefore they jubilantly welcome the liberation of their areas through federal troops.

STERN: What are your troops doing when they march into a town around Port Harcourt, an area where most of the farmers are not Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: We aim at everything that moves.

STERN: Small children tend not to stay put for very long.

ADEKUNLE: I know. I have two myself.

STERN: What will your troops do when you get to the Ibo heartland, that is, to the place populated by Ibos only?

ADEKUNLE: There we will aim at everything even if it is not moving.

STERN: Are you racist?

ADEKUNLE: You should know exactly where racists are. There is no such thing as racism in Nigeria.

STERN: But why are you refusing to discuss this war with a European?

ADEKUNLE: Let me tell you something: When the Russians surrounded Stalingrad did you request a land corridor from them so as to better feed your soldiers who were stuck in the pot there? Of course you didn’t and I can tell from your face that you think the thought of a land corridor to bring in food for the captured German soldiers in Stalingrad is a bad joke. Me too. Where and when, …………., was there a war in which the loser was re-nourished one more time before the final loss? Why are you just calling for a land corridor for Biafra? Why aren’t you calling for a land corridor for the Viet Kong? I have to declare: You Europeans are simply not competent!
STERN: What is happening to the European Humanitarian Assistance programs which were authorized through your government?

ADEKUNLE: In the section of the front that I rule—and that is the whole south front from Lagos to the border of Kamerun—I do not want to see the Red Cross, Caritas Aid, World Church delegation, Pope, Missionary, or UN delegation.

STERN: Does that mean that the many thousands of tons of food that are stored in Lagos will never get to the refugee camps in your section of the country?

ADEKUNLE: You are a sharp one, my friend. That’s exactly what I am saying.

STERN: But you said yourself that most of the refugees in the part you captured are not Ibos.

ADEKUNLE: But there could be Ibos among them. I want to avoid feeding a single Ibo as long as this whole people have not given up yet.

STERN: Do you sometimes feel sympathy for the Ibos?

ADEKUNLE: I have learned a word from the British, which is "sorry"! That’s how I want to respond to your question. I did not want this war but I want to win this war. Therefore I have to kill the Ibos. Sorry!
The End.

well in as much as this is a sad event, Ojukwu did not rescue anyone in fact he was better still a catalyst that killed more Nigerian/igbos than any other. This is an historic fact not the lies you were feed.
Do you want me to pull out videos of the war?
Well that is YOUR OWN FACT not the historic facts.

In fact I think to myself why Igbos love Ojukwu so much. My first though is that Majority of them are delusional or just plain dumb/mad.

But after today, I had a second though, I mean not all Igbos can be mad ! then it clicked to me why they love Ojukwu.

The reason is because They (Igbos in this case) Believe that Ojukwu saved them from the genocide that was happening back then.

Now from an Igbo man's point of view, that is all that matters to him right !

Look at it from other Nigerian point of view before passing your judgement on others.

from the northern point of view :- After the coup which I do not see as an Igbo coup at first glare. In sabon gari, as usual triats that is even displayed Here on nairaland. there was gloating of which some silly igbo traders were singing on how they rule the country. Thus it was made a deflaut an ethnic coup given the fact of the gloating and also the leaders that was killed

from the western point of view :- This Ojukwu and Igbos that were meant  to be our allys/friends first of all left there region to come to our land, and we welcomed them only for them to try and rule us. after we did not allow them, they split out region then locked up out leaders and killed them. after which they even tried invading and annex ondo and lagos to baifra. after all we have done for them.

from the south-south point of view :-  it is simple, we are not going to baifra

the the middle belt :- we are fighting for Nigeria.

Now tell me, with all this contrasting views of ojukwu and others one can only go to one logical conclusion

A SEED OF DISCORD WAS PLANTED SOMEWHERE either by the west thanks to Nnamdi or by those who are still benefitting from Nigeria till today.

BTW, Ojukwu is NOT and will NEVER be a hero, he would be known in the history books for all the wrong reasons. FACT. lets not sugar coat anything.
Shove this epistle down your gay arse. No one cares!

Politics › Mopol Beaten By 3 Cops! LOL.. by Relax101(op): 4:41am On Nov 27, 2011
By Godfrey Bivbere
It was a show of shame yesterday as three regular policemen in uniform gave a mobile policeman, also in uniform, the beating of his life in front of the Lagos State University (LASU). A crowd of about 30 people watched in surprise.

The mobile policeman, Anni Emmanuel with tag number 441195 was alleged to be illegally escorting a van when he was accosted by men of the Ojo police station and was to be forced into a police pick-up vehicle.

The mobile policeman repeatedly explained that he was only given a lift by the van driver from mile2 as he was on his way to Ajangbadi where he lives but his fellow policemen would have none of it. The team which was led by an officer said to be the provost at the station (name withheld) ordered his men to get the mobile policemen into the waiting patrol vehicle.

In their effort to get him into the patrol vehicle, he was not only man-handled but was thrown into the gutter but luckily for him, there was no water in the gutter and his uniform was torn. Efforts by some mobile police officers posted to guard the gate of LASU to intervene proved abortive.

As the show of shame continued, the number of regular policemen, mobile policemen and on lookers grew.

Politics › Re: Interview With Ojukwu, comments On The Coup And Awolowo by Relax101(m): 1:32am On Nov 27, 2011
It is very possible for Gowon to have met Awolowo after his release that made him(Awolowo) change his mind.

bashr8:
RUDOLF OKONKWO: There is a big debate going on in the Internet over whether Awolowo said to you that if the East should secede, the West would secede. The conversation supposedly took place in Enugu on May 6, 1967 and was pulled from what was titled, Ojukwu and Pa Awo Conversation and Speeches during the War in 1967. The information was claimed to have been classified but now declassified. Is this information authentic?

OJUKWU: Let’s stop fooling ourselves, please. When any Nigerian gets up and say, this is classified information that has recently been declassified, I say, classified by whom? Declassified by whom? Do you think we are in America where you have these things? In Nigeria nobody classifies anything and nobody has declassifies anything. So, once it starts with that you know there is deception.

RUDOLF OKONKWO: They said you were the one that recorded this conversation.

OJUKWU: And then I declassified it recently?

RUDOLF OKONKWO: Prof. Aluko, Prof. Eni Njoku, Dr. Nwakanma, Dr. PNC Okigbo, Lt. Col. Imo, Chief J.I Onyia and many others supposedly attended the meeting.

OJUKWU: I find it quite amusing also that all the Igbo participants are dead.

RUDOLF OKONKWO: That is true.

OJUKWU: How come? Is it the death of Pius Okigbo that declassified the information?

RUDOLF OKONKWO: Did the meeting take place, and was there such an agreement?

OJUKWU: We’ve said this over and over again, so many times, and people don’t understand; they don’t want to actually. If you remember, I released Awolowo from jail. Even that, some people are beginning to contest as well. Awo was in jail in Calabar. Gowon knows and the whole of the federal establishment knows that at no point was Gowon in charge of the East. The East took orders from me. Now, how could Gowon have released Awolowo who was in Calabar? Because of the fact that I released him, it created quite a lot of rapport between Awo and myself and I know that before he went back to Ikenne, I set up a hotline between Ikenne and my bedroom in Enugu. He tried like an elder statesman to find a solution. Awolowo is a funny one. Don’t forget that the political purpose of the coup, the Ifeajuna coup that began all this, was to hand power over to Awo. We young men respected him a great deal. He was a hero. I thought he was a hero and certainly I received him when I was governor. We talked and he was very vehement when he saw our complaints and he said that if the Igbos were forced out by Nigeria that he would take the Yorubas out also. I don’t know what anybody makes of that statement but it is simple. Whether he did or didn’t, it is too late. There is nothing you can do about it. So, he said this and I must have made some appropriate responses too. But it didn’t quite work out the way that we both thought. Awolowo, evidently, had a constant review of the Yoruba situation and took different path. That’s it. I don’t blame him for it. I have never done.

How Phillip Effiong turned out to be an Igbo man in Eko ile's house is very difficult to understand.
