PoliticsRe: Soludo Joins APGA As A Gubernatorial Aspirant by remarkD(m): 7:00pm On Jul 29, 2013
wow!!! Yes! Yes!! Yes!!!

I was just about getting ready to crush some online oafs...
(and remind them they are dreamers and still dreaming... )

but then this news has made me all smiles! I am sooo happy!!!

By God's grace, may this man succeed. by God's grace, may all Anambarians give this accomplished man all the support he needs! I believe in this man so much and have no doubt that he has what it takes to make the state an economic super giant.... from the day I got a glimpse of his platform ideas for the state.. I was shocked why he wasn't elected running against Obi... I thought the masses will see that indeed a man of greatness with proven skills of performance and economic emancipation ... that gave rise to the middle class in Nigeria that now so many of our youths are making much more money that their parents in the government are... imagine how much he can do in a state then....

Obi should throw his whole weight behind him.... Chris should stay in the senate... yeah he may have performed during his short term as governor... but I mean... eve he himself should see how qualified CS is... but I am sure the Igbo spirit of competition will still make Chris Ngige and others to run against him... but again... May God lead this man, by His grace... to the seat of governor... change, rapid change... will be coming y'all!!!!

I cant wait to see what his campaign slogan will be.... Soludo! Solu-oganiru!!! Iseeeee!!!!! grin

Francis-1:
I do not really care about the undercurrents leading to Soludo's move to APGA, but I suggest that all Aspirants in APGA should coalesce around Soludo. He is the only one amongst them who has the intellectual, economical, relational and pragmatic skills to take Anambra to the next level. If Anambra is well, followed by Abia, then Igboland is well, economically.

Soludo Quits PDP, Displaces APGA’s 22 Aspirants F

By Obi Ogadi

-
In a cliff-hangar move, former CBN Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, erstwhile gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party will this week desert the umbrella for the chicken quitting the PDP and its rancorous primaries where 23 aspirants will slug it out, to muscle into APGA with a ‘deep’ bargain of N 2billion cash.

The deal , which will see its first light later this week, precisely Thursday when the Professor of Economics who contested the 2010 elections as an imposed candidate of the PDP meeting resistance from other aspirants will also be displacing 22 aspirants in APGA as a candidate imposed by leadership.

Indications are that both Sir Victor Umeh who recently won his battle to regain his National Chairmanship position in the Appeal Court and governor Peter Obi who surrendered to him in a hurriedly packaged reconciliation meeting by a high –profile clergy in the Catholic Church have signed into the deal, hence betraying his self-professed and highly orchestrated governorship course for Anambra North Senatorial District.

Indeed, Soludo had made flattering remarks at a memorial ceremony in his relative in his hometown, Isu Anioma, Aguata Local Government Area, in which the protocols were handled by Anambra State Government employees.

‘You have laid a foundation for future governments to build on in Anambra State’ Soludo was widely quoted as telling Gov Obi.

Insiders confess that the ceremony gave cover to a final negotiation, where the price, timing and other modalities was agreed, a development which may have prompted the repudiation of the guidelines earlier issued by the party for gubernatorial aspirants to pay N2m each as ‘consensus’ is now the name of the game.

But the National Executive of APGA and the aspirants under APGA, including 17 from Anambra North Senatorial District are not finding the development funny, even as they adopt a wait-and-see attitude.

Two of them who spoke to me on condition of anonymity said it would be shocking if the governor can make a u-turn on the principle of equity he has canvassed for close to 15 months in favour of a new deal.

Said an aspirant from the Omambala bloc :’I will not bury anyone before he or she dies, as God will make all of us live till Thursday , after which we shall respond to the new music with the right beat’

Another aspirant told this reporter on telephone that ‘It would be the most dramatic and dishonest reversal for Gov Peter Obi to abandon everyone and follow a new bride now’. Adding ‘This is just too difficult to explain’

Asked what he would do under the circumstance he simply said; ‘It is too early to say ,but if it turns out to be true, they will have to beat me in the primaries to gain my co-operation because they themselves said it that Anambra is not for sale’

The issue of producing a governor of Anambra North (Senatorial Zone) extraction has dominated political discussions for close to a year with the governor and his supporters openly declaring his support for the zone, which according to him has not produced a governors since Anambra State was created.

In fact the government was said to have sponsored a strong campaign in this regard tagged Equity 2014, with bottom line costs running into billions of Naira, a consideration which was said to have reflected in the latest political negotiation with Soludo.

Early indications to the latest development broke when 23 aspirants of the PDP beat the deadline given by their party last week to return their Expression of Interest Forms ‘ with those of Soludo conspicuously missing.

APGA executives had been reported by all major newspapers in the country as having denounced the delicate ‘church’ agreement, which has failed to involve them.

The dynamics to be created in crisis torn APGA amid its fragile but unhealed peace is a matter for conjecture as, the Anambra State November 16, 2013 elections turns a new bend.

This NL so funny!

I recall a poster asking that ilu-something-boy why he (and his brothers and sisters) are like vultures waiting to see a carcass before they descend to eat the deadbody... instead of hunting like a lion....

fastforward 2, 3 pages on the same thread and his fellow tribes-man/woman is conceding that they indeed are patient and hovering like vultures ... apparently waiting for the Igbos to leave property for them to come and take.... how pathetic can hate make you all? lol.

This indeed is cause this fella couldn't resist the urge to join his/her fellowSWners to brag, threaten and see if the Igbos will be scared and run away from Lagos, leaving their choice-property, business and investments for them... lol.

Well, honey, we have studied you guys too, and know that you. are. cowards.... and like to cover that fact up with noise, bragging, shouting at the top of your voice etc... /the equivalent of that on the internet/media as well...

That ilu-something-boy last night in all his ramblings said he was practising with redsun.... rofl....

instead of learning a trade or something useful that will help him and your lot in life... you are on NL practising how to brag, make noise, threaten and believe if you do it so much... that is how you will earn respect or acknowledgement from your fellow noisemakers whom you deem "advanced" in cowardice.

grin grin grin

Haters go quench!

The only thing you should ask people to respect is each person's right to his or her opinion.

Some believe that Eko isn't part of Yoruba land that they migrated there like the rest of the Igbos... and just because someone else disagrees doesn't mean everyone else should give in to the other side...

what i'm trying to say is that beliefs are always going to be in conflict, but or so whatever the case may be, charting a path or alternative... or whatever... and I think the Nigerian constistution is best to be adopted by all Nigerians... the whole country is a free market.. buy and sell to whom you will... live at peace with your neighbor and everyone will live happily ever after.
(definitely far from it, I know lol)

ALTRUTH: Lagos is Yoruba land and they own it. I think we should respect that is it too much to ask from us?

There hasn't been a Yoruba woman of prominence in politics or national issues since the first lady to drive a car in Nigeria....

everything you are is self professed as you have said in your own words.. and all the slaying you can do to igbos is online and it ends there...

it is because every Yoruba man sees hardwork as trouble.

An Igbo man will say... "Don't just give me fish all the time, teach me to fish... " (and before you know it he starts from scratch and builds a profitable fish business expanding his business far and wide....

The yooba man will say.... don't just give me fish, give my family - wives and kids - too.... continue giving us more and more...

and when there is no more free fish... he starts making noise on the internet/media.... threatening fire and brimstone... that one day, he will take your fishing business and give it to the Chinese and Indians.... he'll even take over your house (which his grandpa sold to you and he has no more rights of ownership) .... you know, just threts he knows he cant even dare to try... but to back it up, he will say 1967 - 70 - a war fought by Great Britain by means of unlimited weapons, air, land & sea... which northern soldiers and basically the rest of Nigeria sided with them - will be child's play compared to what he will do if you don't give him free fish...

he will go on...(he never gets tired of talking/bragging... ) that he has a very successful life and that your fish doesn't mean anything to him, (yet he is starving) ... that you and your fish business is wretched and you living miserably while he himself is better than you.... (I really cant match the extent of their yapping... )

but at the end of the day, truth is he needs food, he needs free fish... and when the government still tries to teach them to fish for themselves... the refuse, again and again.. and see what they end up doing:

Print version ‘Area Boys’ Burn Rehabilitation Centre
February 17, 2010 17:16, 105 views

By Kazeem Ugbodaga

The multi-million naira Lagos State Rehabilitation and Skills Acquisition Centre, Tekunle, Lagos State has been burnt by area boys taken to the centre for rehabilitation.

The centre was built by former Governor Bola Tinubu about six years ago to rehabilitate area boys and drug addicts arrested on the streets of Lagos.

Tekunle is an Island at a remote area of Lekki and has often been described as a ‘place of no return’ because of its inaccessibility.

Area boys taken to the Island, after sometime adjust to the environment and learn useful skills such as tailoring, carpentry, vulcanizing, among others for a period of nine months after which they are sent back into the society to live meaningful lives.

However, P.M.NEWS gathered that scores of area boys sent for rehabilitation went on the rampage recently and razed the centre.

Equipment bought with millions of naira and the buildings in the centre were burnt by the area boys, bringing to an end the rehabilitation programme of the Lagos State Government for social miscreants.

It could not be ascertain why the area boys went on the rampage.

P.M.NEWS gathered, however, that the trainees revolted when they were being flogged for refusing to carry out certain instruction.

Officers of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environment and Special Offences unit, it was further learnt, saved the day as they stormed the centre and arrested scores of the area boys who carried out the act.

Chairman of the Task Force, Bayo Sulaiman, when contacted told P.M.NEWS that those arrested had been charged to the Tapa Customary Court, Lagos Island for arson.

He disclosed that the suspects were currently being remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons, adding that the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Supo Sasore, was handling the case for the government.

When asked to give details on how the area boys burnt the centre, he declined, saying that our reporter should go to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development to get such information.

When contacted, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kamal Junaid said: “I don’t know anything about it; you can contact the Public Relations Officer or the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth, Sports and Social Development.”

Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth, Sports and Social Development, Dr. Dolapo Badru, could not be reached.

One of his aides who picked the call said his boss was in a meeting and that we should call later.

Since the inception of the centre, about four sets of area boys had been rehabilitated and empowered to live meaningful lives in the society.

Some of them had told stories of their wretched past and how their lives changed when they were rehabilitated at the training centre.

With the burning of the centre, it appears the laudable plan of the state government to rehabilitate the notorious area boys has been dealt a mortal blow.

Why are you guys so concerned of the welfare of the Igbos? if you hate them so much as your want us to believe, why warn them of something that will lead to the "internal combustion" or elimination of the whole race as you wish?

Have you seen how you are your own problem(s)?

In front of our eyes, Dayo is radicalizing a young lady and promoting Akintolas speech from 50 years ago to generate more hatred in 2013 against Igbos...

You know, man... I aint worried at all. Because when you hate someone so much, and cant do anything about it... its just gonna eat you up inside... and you end up taking rat poison out of frustration.

If killing 2 million Igbos did not give Awolowo the satisfaction and peace in life that he wanted....

If the indigenization decree that transferred ownership of premier companies in Nigeria to yorubas was not enough to give the brains behind it some happiness and rest/peace in life....

then no matter how many Igbos, by omission or commission that happen to leave Lagos....

no matter how uch bribe is given to Baba-ole....

no matter how many customary laws of the yoobas that the Igbos choose or refuse to observe...

you and I know that you still wont have peace in life.... because allo that stuff is not the problem....

look in the mirror, and you will see that the person looking back at ya aint an Igbo niggga

"Onye ji mmadu n'ala ji onwe ya."

Has there been verifiable data of the "deportees"? i.e. where they are from...
but either way... that action is really shameless... and need I say, unconstitutional...

berem: A human rights group has launched an
investigation into the alleged deportation
and dumping of 67 Igbos by the Lagos State
Government, which reportedly dumped them
in the famed commercial town of Onitsha,
Anambra State, in the wee hours of Wednesday, July 24.
In a message posted on its website yesterday, Due Process
Advocates (DPA) sought information about the incident that
would enable its lawyers to launch a suit against the Lagos State
Government over the issue. The message goes as follows:
"URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:
"CALL ON MEMBERS FOR INFORMATION:
"Any member of DPA in Asaba, Onitsha or Awka with any
information on those 70 persons that were reported to have been
deported from Lagos State to Onitsha should kindly contact DPA.
"Also any member in that area who could help obtain
information should please help. We are looking for the following
basic information:
"(a) Name and phone number of any of the deportees.
"(b) Name and phone number of any relative of any deportee.
"(c) Name and phone number of any eyewitness to the arrival,
dropping off, picking up, handling and shipment of any deportees
from Lagos to Anambara State recently.
"(d) Name and number of any government official or NGO
involved in this mater or who bas been reported to have made a
public statement on the matter.
"Your help is needed for the lawyers to be able to do something
about the problem."
DPA, which has over 6,000 members, is known for intervening in
cases involving under-privileged people, including defending
them in court.
According to reports, the Lagos State Government has come
under heavy criticism from various groups for the alleged
deportation of of Igbos for the second time in a year in brazen
contravention of the Nigerian Constitution.

Thank you for the translation.

There goes the last person (yooba) I thought was a brave man....
(I had thought that his firing at the soldiers that came to arrest him during the Jan. 1966 coup was an act of bravery.... )

But knowing what was at the core of him in his heart... I now see in him what I see in the rest of f they yoobas that (still) use words (the media also) to show their "strength" against Igbos.... fluff, fluff and fluff all through...

So here I am, wondering if there is out there, a single Yoruba man that believes in himself, in his own might and abilities to be a success in the struggle of survival in Nigeria (where inter-ethnic relations abide)... that waiting for the fall of, or plotting the fall of an Igbo man for him to step on and reach his destiny is the only way he can reach his destiny...

I don't go looking for a reason to hate a yooba and deem him a coward (the general-average Nigerian view...) but when random stories/soundbites float my way... it creates a notion, though limited, and as I hear more about 'em... a more full notion is created... and so it went... from Obasanjo...(whom I realized isn't a full-blooded yooba, was hiding during the Dimkpa coup, and got a bullet in the bum while fleeing the warfront), to the so-called scorpion...(also not a full-blooded yooba, never got to the 'Igbo heartland' where he boasted -surprise! - to shoot at anything & everything... that was enough even not knowing then how he plotted to kill his own men), Gen. Diya and his brothers...(his picture on the coverpage of newswatch says it all) and now its Mr. Akintola that rounds off the final dismiss of "Men worthy of emulation."

And on NL... tis only one poster that I have seen as an upright man at all times.... that doesn't call black, white; and white, black only when it is an aim for "pulling the 'Igbo' down for the almighty :d to rise....

dayokanu: I can interpret some.

In the first part after the greetings he said that many of our Yoruba people compare our country to USA and UK claiming since it was done in those countries it should be done same way in Nigeria. and the Ibo Alakuko have been using their Newspapers to promote their agenda and Yorubas trying to act sophisticated dont trust their parents again rather they believe Nigeria should be like US and UK, Nigeria is not like US and UK

He said one of the Ibo leaders claimed he believed Ibos are special breed of people who are designed to Lord over other Nigerians.

Count how many Yorubas are in Eastern parts heading parastatals? Now compare that to Ibos heading such stuffs in North and the West. Why do they want to Lord it over all.

He said in Ibadan, Arabs and Lebanese were sent away from trading yet the NCNC made sure it was Ibos that took over the whole markets in Ibadan, that our wives in Ibadan cant even get stalls to trade.

All Nigerians ambasadors to London, Paris, Moscow, New York are all Ibos through their alliance with the Hausas.

This election is for the future of your children, This is not about Akintola or Awolowo this is about the future of your children.

Recently Michael Okpara came out to list the achievement of Federal Govt in the Eastern region. He listed the Cement company in Nkalagu, the Coal in Enugu where thousands of their children are getting jobs while our own qualified children cant get jobs

The 2 VC of the University in Lagos and UI are both Ibos. Are they saying of all the educated people in Abeokuta for more than 100yrs none is educated enough to head?

You might ask why is the top position important its because due to their nature, the first in command is Ibo, he would ensure second in command, third in command till fifteenth in command is his tribesman till all the commands are finished

The average yooba is a scary scary scary scary cat....

there is nothing they got (in a fight) and is why before they even make an attempt to fight... they will shout shout shout shout... talk talk talk talk.... you will think the sky is gonna fall... I mean... if someone who is not from Nigeria and doesn't know how these sissys operate sees that weak posters comment, the person will probably think "wow, this guy must be a strong man..." ...
not knowing that just a fake motion of a slap will bring the sissy down on his knees and start shivering like a mo-ron ready to make peace.... either that or they scurry away like a rat that has taken poison....

P.S. tis hilarious when a yooba says "trust me" ... the immediate thing to do is take the opposite of what he has asked you to trust him for... lol comedy at its best.

Austine.E:
typical of a yoruba man,you got into a fight with him,he starts by calling passer-by and his nieghbours to come oo,that you want to fight them oo.imagine this slippery creature, while the possibility of a battle between igbos and yorubas is being discussed, this tout is busy calling on Hausas,Nupe,Edos etc as those who will do the fight.Even within the Yoruba-parapo cycle, they know very well that igbos are in a different class from yorubas,a world ahead of yorubas in anyway you want it.Because Lagos was developed by federal govt and our common-wealth,as the former federal capital, every yoruba d i c k and harry is jumping into the band wagon of 'lagos has the highest GDP and most developed',i just hope that the Gwari people of Abuja shld also claim responsibility for developing Abuja....am eargly waiting for the dimwits to develop Osun,Ekiti,Ogun,Ondo and the brown zinc Ibadan!or are they nt yoruba states.

and don't people have to chop-belle-full first before they can be able to "kick" anything? is the Baba-ole looking for donations for him and his 24 concubines that will do the "kicking" out? or the poor London rat that doesn't have enough money to chop talkless of coming back to Nigeria that will "kick"? ... perhaps as you people always talk of Adekulikuli... he will come carried in a wheelbarrow to "kick" ... Aki and Bobo will take care of that one.... abegi don't make me laugh...
0lumide: That's not for Igbos to decide really. It's beyond Igbo's beneficial capacity to make a decision on leaving lagos or not because Igbos will rather die than leave lagos so it's left to Yorubas to decide when enough is enough. Sorry but, such is life. When the Hyksos were expelled from Egypt, they were at their prime. In fact, some Hyksos were pharaohs before real Egyptians decided to kick them out.

So whether you leave or stay, Yoruba dont give a fvk. If you stay though, thats by your own choice and a consent that you want to be ruled and subordinated to the customs of the land, including the Babaloja of Ladipo, Alhaji Abibu Oki.

We are not Yorubas... we do not shout or make noise....
Who is going to maul an Igbo man? and what will be the reason for doing that?

9jacrip: Then when you people start getting mauled down you'd shout what?

You really think an Igbo man will leave Lagos (Ladipo) when there is money to make (and he has been making it)?

Or that if Ladipo closes they will just pack their bags and leave?

Wake up, my friend.... you've been dreaming for too long...

Baba-ole brouhaha or not.... don't even dream that Igbos will leave a place they've been for ages just because someone is shouting at the top of his voice.... I mean...

the shoutings of a Yooba man is now like music to the ears of an Igbo man...

it even makes y'all look pathetic citing the north... you're pretty much accepting that you yourselves are cowards and powerless....

and its funny that you wonder why Igbos wont leave the north even after religious killings or BK killings are going on..... you think that mere making noise on the internet (where the traders are not wasteing their time on) will make them close shop and go "home"?

Dudu_Negro: To those calling for Igbos to relocate to East....there are Chinese, Jews, Hausas, Ghanaians, Brazilians, Arabs, Europeans, Americans....all waiting in line and looking for space to establish market in Lagos. Exit quick so we can bring in cultured people who understand the value of land usage and virtue of cultures and customs.
