Welcome back, sir. how about me? was I being ignored or you didn't see my question (which this thread is for... abi?) I've been waiting patiently for a while now...

OAM4J: Just saw this. Sorry, I didn't ignore you.

You post was hid cos it was off-topic.
PoliticsRe: Controlling Lagos' Borders... by remarkD(m): 2:50pm On Jun 25, 2013
Can you mention, one (1)... just one thing Igbos have done to Yorubas that made you insinuate Igbos "clearly detest" Yorubas?

(and I'm sure you know that saying they - Igbos - are boastful will be self-contradictory on your side?)If its the NL beakering that made you think so... check how most of the "fights" begin on here, tally 'em up and see which ethnic group "carries the day."
An Igbo man can only takes so much... but they are very tolerant people.

The point of making other regions and states economically attractive was made and passed by... don't think anyone objected to that...
kingoflag: I read every single post on this topic and its funny how you clowns cant see that its true that Lagos is busting to its seams and that in order to decongest you need to make your home more financially attractive, suitable and habitable. Instead, youre justifying why you gotta run over to the homes of others whom you clearly detest instead of taking your administrators to task for turning you into unwanted refugees in potentially hostile regions.

P.S: Dont forget to pless 99.8% again for PDP's corrupt and criminal Govt Officials in upcoming elections.

When did Lagos remove "Ibo indigenes"?

Show me one "removed Ibo" and I will show you 10 removed Yorubas...

(The bus that offloaded "deportees" in Onitsha that made you happy, we later realized when a sample of the names were published that they were mostly your fellow yubas being ejected....

...
Desola: Is it, really? Isn't Lagos equally a sovereign state? If it has power to remove unproductive non-indigenes like it did some ibo indigenes then surely, it can be suggested that it possesses the power to control it's borders, non?
PoliticsRe: Controlling Lagos' Borders... by remarkD(m): 5:30am On Jun 24, 2013
The problem with those that come up with such lofty ideas is that they've lived overseas for so long and thus the reality of what is happening back home is seen "on the surface"...

I don't know if he thought through how possible his suggestion was, but as usual... (happens on here a lot) ... he spews all his stuff so eloquently and his supporters will come pat him on his back... taking all he said hook line and sinker whether they understand what he said or not, talk less of seeing the challenges such suggestions will pose or its impractitality.

(reminds me of Wole... blow all his grammer and his villagers hail him ...
aletheia: Scenarios:

Mr A. just completed primary school and decided to come to Lagos after months of urging by his brother who's living in Lagos this past 5 years. Mr A. arrives and takes up work as a shoe-shiner/porter. According to the proposed tax regimen, being a new "immigrant", he ought to pay for instance an income tax of 35%. Several problems immediately arise:
a) How on earth, is the LASG going to assess his daily income for tax purposes?
b) No doubt Mr A. belongs to the lowest income band, and by progressive taxation principles ought to even be exempt from tax!

Mr B. a top company executive is newly redeployed to Lagos by his company. Since his income is readily traceable, the LASG is able to skim 35% off his pay. On Fridays, he likes to go clubbing...but the problem is how on earth he is going to pay the 17% VAT on the beer he drinks as a newly arrived "immigrant" to Lagos...since the bar man doesn't ask for his duly stamped passport showing the date he crossed Lagos state's borders.

Mr C. has been in Lagos for 15 years now. All his children were born in Lagos and attend Lagos schools. Since he works in Alausa as a civil servant, every month, regular as clockwork, LASG takes off income tax of 25% as a "longstanding" resident. Brother J. arrives from village to stay with him while learning "trade". I wonder how LASG is going to tax Brother J. for the privilege of being newly arrived in Lagos.

If only, Mr A. and Brother J. had stayed back in their states and not come to Lagos to increase the population without engaging in taxable economic activities. Perhaps if there were more economic opportunities back home in their states...

So do you agree (with your brother Dayo Kanu) that Yorubas are moving away from their land (to Kano, Togo, Abidjan and Paris) because they can't make it in their own (south-west) land due to poverty, non-conducive environment, (dirty) personal hygiene etc?

FYI its you and your gang that are, in your customary ways, telling a lie on this thread over and over again... (even after being corrected... but when tribalism and hate fills y'all the way it has, you become blind to truth and facts, even when stated with references).

PDP was in the south-west for only 4 years; save for Lagos - which as earlier mentioned, has not been ruled by the PDP since 1999.

This is something you can find in less than 5 minutes by searching on the internet...

but lieing is your preference, lies that you say are 'facts' ... some of y'all know it is a lie, but go ahead to spin it and spread it anyways, that is the one I cant seem to understand, I only wonder the amount of darkness in you guys' hearts.

Anyways, I have stated it here and hope that any one in the future genuinely looking for information related to the topic of thread will not be deceived.

So carry on lieing.. repeat it over and over again, tell it to your children etc and even the media as y'all did in the past will be used to spread lies that is solely aimed at shifting the lame to others, pointing at other ethnic groups, people or as in this case, a political group... but puts wonderful ACN as angels... holy indeed.

Continue on Gary... you wont be the 1st to lie... cheesy
Garri the 1st: I dey laff ooo.

So the OP and his gang don't know that PDP's years of ruling in the SW destroyed and took the region decades backward...

PoliticsRe: Jerry Rawlings Blasts Premium Times Over 'irresponsible' Journalism by remarkD(m): 5:25am On Jun 22, 2013
I was surprised when I read that story from Premium Times. I'd read a few Grade A reports on there before and began seeing them as one of the top in the Nigerian journalism industry.... but since I knew of Gen. Rawlings, I've admired him a lot and the balls he had to sanctify his country and rid it of corrupt individuals... so I really didn't know what to believe anymore... maybe, again, call it naiveity... ut didn't really think of why or how PT will report something untrue...

so now, shocked am I, reminded I am, once again, of how some unscrupulous elements can go to extremes just to pull down a young man that is at the centre of our country and trying to stir us the right way... it seems everything and anything is game... to spin, turn on its head, and dress it up it ever so nicely, to produce an anti-GEJ report... and there you have it.

Na you go tire, haters. its gonna eat yo up from the inside. keep lieing, keep spinning, turn your face the other way when truth stares you in the face, plug your ears when the voice of eason is eckoning, your inevitable end will be your own (un)doing... rat poison or not... you the one that has it all to lose.
Ekwusi gom...

Remark D

gregg2: I saw that piece too talking about the Jonathan government being the most corrupt in history and I knew Rawlings could never have implied that. Jonathan is too kind-hearted. The FOI bill is being abused with so much lies and outright mischief. Only very few Presidents can take the huge doses of lies, disinformation and mischief being fed to unsuspecting public about government.

It's unfortunate but this the situation we find ourselves in this country beginning from Punch, The Nation, Sahara Reporters, Premium Times, Leadership etc. The norm now is to lie, lie and lie as much to forcefully pull down expecially the government at the center.
PoliticsRe: Fed Govt Awards 2nd Niger Bridge Contract To Julius Berger On PPP by remarkD(m): 11:24pm On Jun 21, 2013
Why should "we" reconsider "our" stand? they haven't done squat yet on the building of the bridge, talk less of the toll gate... but you have made up your mind already? This doesn't sound to me the way an typical Igbo man thinks... there's no point asking if you really are Igbo as you insinuate, its very evident.

and did I just see a poster say GEJ is building a ten-way highway to "buy" the Yoruba's vote?
Such comments are unbelieving; it goes on, anyways, to buttress the fact that when you hate someone, nothing they do, absolutely nothing, will or can be seen objectively or in good lilght, no matter even the original intention of the person they've focused their hate on. If GEJ doesn't build infrastructure in the south-west, they'll raise hell and say its cause its not Yoruba bal blah andshould be kicked out... and when he performs (by way of infrastructure or other aspects of development) .. of couse as we see on this thread.. its been supn to be a way of "buying" votes of the south-west. such things only come from the spin masters themselves. they do the same to other ethnic groups they hate.... they blow up any and every bad deed, and turn any good deeds on its head and call it all sorts of bad names...

GeJ is performing, is doing his best which has been way more than any other Nigerian president, but just let the man be... they refuse. If god doesn't punish you all... then God will punish you all... haters.

Expensive72: .

Yes, GEJ was overwhelming voted for in the southeast in 2011. And you know what? The southeast will do it again. GEJ has done so much for the southeast. In terms of political appointments, today it is the Igbos that are running the show in the GEJ govt. From finance minister and coordinating minister of the economy ('prime minister') to the number one defender of the nation, it is Igbo gallore. In terms of infrastructure, the southeast is having its fair share. From the Onitsha-Owerri road to Enugu-Osha-PH road, to Airports and ports, distribution of petroluem products, etc its been fair so far.

@Sincere nigerian I have always buy ur ideas, praise and ur optimism about the government of GEJ but on this issue of SNB I'm against u. So what we the Igbo's will get as a dividends of GEJ administration is a tolled SNB?, for our overwhelming support & vote during his election? if so, then GEJ is in for a shocker come 2015, because we are going to reconsider our stand.

Dear Sir,
I have a breaking news!
A group of people from the Western District have come out openly to condemn the open romance between their kinsmen and the Jihardists.

They are even calling for alliance with South Sout, South East and Middle Belt.
I think these people do understand Nigeria very well and they want to make a difference.
What do you think Sir?

Do we trust them?

and while you're at it...what was wrong with my post (and view) of Tinubu's flee from Dubai that the comment had to be hidden?

its really difficult understanding or trying to follow people that are all over the place in their actions/decision-making...

remark D: Kind sir, please clarify this for me (and everyone else interested) just so we are all clear about the rules and how they are being applied:

- by hiding a post made in 2012 because it violates a rule (of forbidden terms used for ethnic groups) made in 2013, should we take it that the rules of NL can be retroactively applied?

- Since you hid that comment, was the poster banned as well? that is, should i expect a ban anytime if a thread i posted on in 2009 violates, say, one of the new rules created this 2013? ... and it happens that someone just so happened to bump the thread...

I hope you can clarify this for us so we all know how to proceed and what to expect from you.

I salute you for this your post.

Double salute if you're of the same ethnic stock as Tinubu but still are able to view this matter so objectively and stating what clearly was the wrong move by the frog-eyed ex-governor.

Not only is running away the wrong move... it was a cowardly move... how can he even show face in public again? I mean... he should just go hide... and maybe get someone slip him some rat... (fill in the gap)

enm: Walking away was not the best option to take. Believe me, that was a perfect opportunity to showcased his maturity in handling of criticism. Walking away shows that he take and bear no nonsense and what do you expect of such a man if found himself where jonathan is sitting now.

Matured person would diplomatically put Smart in his place by reminding him that, they are in a wedding and as so it is occasion for celebration and joy but promising to to provide the answer to his question when the wedding is over, thereby steering the party back.

To me walking away was a wrong move and generate a lot more question.

I totally agree with you, however, not all of us have had the (mis)fortune of living amongst these people...
so when we come online and see them fulfilling all the characteristics that one way or another that we have heard of or come to know (of them), its hard not to see them differently...

i have asked a few people that have lived amongst them... hausa or Yoruba... guess their response? (for whom theyd prefer to deal with)
gbaky_floor: I have come to realise that Yorubas are the major problematic ethnic group and thrives on tribalism.

The poster wrote such a wonder piece and it took a yoruba person to derail the thread ranting on how illiteracy is killing hausas and how un forgiveness is Igbo's major problem.

This type of ranting reminds me of my Nysc camp days: there was an election in my platoon for a financial officer, the yorubas voiced out against the choice of a candidate simply because he's Igbo and to them all Igbos are crooks even without dealing with any Igbo before.

But I appeal to other tribes, do not be like me and generalise this about yoruba.

Granted the most tribalistic set of people I have ever met are yorubas but also the most warm hearted and accepting person I have ever come across is a yoruba person. Do not allow some yoruba bigots shape your opinion of the Yoruba tribe.

The next time any Yoruba bigot attempts to start tribalism on a thread just ignore the post. Do not encourage such e-war of tribalism.

What happened to the poster 'Dozingbaba' whom had time to engage the tribalistic posters wanting to trade insults... your guess is as good as mine..
its little wonder they are called cowards; can never stand on their own damn feet to do anything, not to talk of "fighting"... without running underground and looking for ways to un-level the "playing field."
