tbaba1234:the "fear" is just the word "Islamic", some people are so blinded that if the give them arabic bible they will not touch it, this has happened in my presence, |
gtrust:May God bless you, until Nigerians start seeing thing from clear perspective without religious or tribal colouration it will be difficult to make progress. Most of people opposing intrest free banking are just against the name Islamic, not the baniking system. In real Islamic banking, when you borrow money to trade, both parties share the profit and loss, that way the bank will do all it could to support you, since you are partners more or less, not like common bank in which your interest continues to grow even when the bank clearly knows the business has failed. |
Where is Balinga on the list, Tesilimi Olawale "Teslim" Balogun (1927 – 30 July 1972) was a Nigerian football player and coach. Balogun played at both professional and international levels a striker, before becoming Africa's first qualified professional football coach. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teslim_Balogun |
I think Anglican Bishop must have been misinformed. The non Intrest banking is all over the world now. In fact it was introduced in to Nigeria by Joseph Sanusi , the CBN Governor before Soludo, a Christian. All banks have Islamic winodw, you just have to say you dont want interste paid on your account. The only disadvantage is that people dont have the opportunity of borrowing without interest, that is sharing of profit and loss from he business for which the loan was sought. May be the Bishop and co can explain to us how Islamic banking would affect the non Muslim for us to understand the threath. Are they going to be ask them to change their names before opening accts Are the banks going to employ only Muslims? |
May his soul rest in peace. |
Dis Guy:The N10b was collected following "due process" tambawal recommended pay raise after establishing a gap in pay, house big boys met, decided to borrow money to finance the urgent pay gap, the loan may be put in future budget, bla bla bla, so no crime in taken loan. Nigeria we hail thee. |
dayokanu:Don't mind the double speaking hippocrates. Even OBJ made it clear while closing GEJ campaign rally, that Zoning was alive and on, but GEJ's choice was for Unity of the Nation, as it was morally right and necessary to allow South South presidency at this time. |
emmadeiza:lol, bro, get married, you just have to be careful and stay out of trouble, one thing with women is that, when you have problem with them they hardly think of past or future, we just heard of one that microwaved her baby to to death just punish an unfaithful man, can you beat that? |
Is playing of Jailor by Asa sending a message to them or just coinsidence |
Uhmn, facebook made GEJ speech, maybe NL would in 2015, Hope alive |
What did Lagos and Ogun states did with N1.5B GEJ given them during the flood last year. Nothing have been done around Isheri till date. |
190:what has being local has with being elderly? Don't tell me all elderly people you know are local or all local people by your own perception are elderly, lol |
Jarus:Moremi hailed from Offa, she was married to Oranmiyan and taken to Ile Ife. The shrine by the Olofa palace was in her honour Jarus, how could you miss that. You must eat anomo (potatoes) for three consecutive days, lol |
check duduradio.com, but you should be able to get it in Lagos, definitely at decross |
maddock:I did not say mistakes should go unpunished, especially when they become repetitive from the same person. I mentioned appraisal in my post. There are so many ways to repremand or give an erring employee fedback, name calling is not one of them. I assumed its an organised company where both of you are employees, if you call him stupid, he may chose to respond with physical contact . You called some one stupid and still cut his pay, that to me is double punishment, lol |
If GEJ gave ministries to losers to run, we may be heading for a kakistocracy, “a government run by the worst people in the country.” |
maddock:Multinationals (Shell Mobil, Chevron, Total MTN, Accenture) no name calling, your boss can deal with you during appraisal if he thinks you are less competent for your job. |
If you work for well organised company, they should have anti harassment rules. Ensure to document the scene may be have a witness or record voice on phone, then report the case. |

He died early yesterday in his private residence, Mesirinka House, Efon Alaaye, Ekit State. He was 79. The late Gen. Oluleye, who retired from the Army 30 years ago, was Federal Commissioner for Finance and member of the Supreme Military Council (SMC) under the Murtala/Obasanjo regime between 1975 and 1979. Family sources said the deceased was hale and hearty before he went to bed on Wednesday after chatting with his steward and other members of his household. One of them was said to have gone to knock at his bedroom when it was noticed that he had not woken up to resume his routine exercise. Every morning, the retired General walked about one kilometre in his sport dress to keep fit. Following his death, family members contacted his fist son, Dr Wole Oluleye, former Executive Secretary, Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPRRA) and the paramount ruler, Alayemore Obalufon of Efon-Kingdom, Oba Adesanya Aladejaye, to break the news. Many indigenes thronged the residence on the outskirts of the ancient town to commiserate with the family. Oba Aladejare, a former university teacher, was said to have lamented the demise of the gallant soldier who finally relocated home from Lagos two years ago. He said his death was a blow to the kingdom at this stage of its development. The late Gen. Oluleye played a prominent role as one of the leaders of the umbrella association, Efon Development League. He was chairman of the Lagos State branch of the association for many years. He was also acknowledged the most important personality who brought Efon-Alaaye into limelight. Family sources said around afternoon yesterday, Governor Segun Oni was informed about the demise. While alive, it was said that successive governors held him in high esteem because of his principle and discipline. But, Oluleye was said to have deliberately declined to enter politics because of the deceit associated with politicking. Born on October 14, 1930, at Efon-Alaaye, his home town, the late Gen. Oluleye attended St. Luke’s College, Ibadan, after leaving primary school. He taught briefly after his teacher training. In 1959, he opted for a military career, attending the Regular Officers Special Training School, Ghana. He was also at the Nigeria Military Training College, Kaduna and Defence Services Staff College, Wallington, India. He joined the military as an officer cadet, rising to second lieutenant in 1960. He was in the first Battalion, Enugu between 1961 and 1963. Between 1964 and 1965, the late Gen. Oluleye was Chief Mortar Instructor at the Nigeria Military College. In 1966, he became the commandant, Operations Officer, Nigeria Army Headquarters and later, General Officer Commanding, Second Infantry Division, Ibadan, between 1970 and 1975. When the late General Murtala Mohammed became the Head of State, the late Gen. Oluleye was posted to the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna as commandant. But, he declined to assume duties, saying he had taught enough at the military school. The late Gen. Mohammed asked him to resign, but he also objected on the ground that he still wanted to serve his fatherhood. Already, he had been named a member of the SMC as commandant-designate of the NDA. But, when he declined, the late Gen. Oluleye was made the Federal Commissioner for Establishment and Training. He was there between 1975 and 1977. Between 1977 and 1979, he was Federal Commissioner for Finance. The late Gen. Oluleye was a member of the Constituent Assembly, Abuja between 1988 and 1989. An avid reader, he authored Military Leadership in Nigeria (1966-1979.) Until he died, he was a widower. A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon Bisi Kolawole, paid tribute to the former minister, whom he described as a father-figure. |
The instruction should have just been "Guys you have made enough to recoup campaign donations you made, go back to status quo ante" lol How can you direct the crashing of price if you don't know how much is the landing cost of such commodity, is government going to reduce its own tax and duties charges on that product. What about the price of diesel and kerosene at N160 per liter? |

Katsumoto:Oyo kingdom did not have army stationed inside Oyo town, so all those armies as Ibadan, Igbon, Ikoyi, Aresa, Oko, Ijaye and so on, were all subject to Alafin to defended the kingdom. That was why Ibadan had to destroy Ijaye when Kurunmi rebelled against Alafin, and Owu when they rebelled against Ife. Aare Ona Kakanfo, the war generalimo was started by Alaafin Ajagbo as the head of Oyo warriors, the Aare must not stay in the Oyo town with Alaafin,. Emissaries usually sent to wherever the incumbent leaved from there the army mobilized against target. The Jihad or Jalumi war did not get to Osogbo, it ended at Inisa by Odo Otin, as matter of fact the name Jalumi came from the Fulanis falling to river unknowingly. The canon marking the end of the war is still at the river bank at Inisa till today. You can google Jalumi or Inisa to confirm. The Ibadan warriors stationed at Ikirun, about 3 km from Inisa, for some time after the war and it took some agreement between the parties before they left the place, that was the origin of statement " Ki ogun o to kuro ni Ikirun, oro lo tele" Before warriors left Ikirun, there were some discussions. |
zstranger:May be you can tell me the story behind the proverb Omode gbo agba gbon la fi da ile Ife, (Hint, check Alawiye Apa Kefa by J F Odunjo} |
zstranger:let me answer you this way, I entered Unife and graduated from OAU, you can guess from that hint, lol |
This is what that vindictive Akala created, the power tussle btw them have been solved with creation of Osun out of Oyo. Ooni has been been Chairman in Osun and Allafin Chairman in Oyo. Ti inu ile kan ban toro, awon omo ale ibe ni koi ti d'agba. Historically, those who remember the origin of the proverb "Omode gbon agba gbon laa fi da ile Ife". It was about how Ile Ife stopped paying homage to Oyo by sending a male cow to Oyo and demanded its calf to be sent to Ife , and so on, and so on. Which means Oyo at time governed Ife. History has it that when Oduduwa died, Oranmiyan was not around, so his grandpa's properties were shared with nothing left for him. Infact no crown was reserved for him, that is why you hear "lade lade lade Alaafin ko lade (Alafin does not have crown) When he showed up later, the family, in a face saving tactics, gave him red soil and told him that his own share would be the whole of Yorubaland, that was how he started collecting homage (isakole) from all part of Yoruba land. |
