jason123:
I am very unhappy with this news because it proves two things:
1) It shows that the north still has this born to rule mentality. I mean, did Falae step down for OBJhuh Why do the north always step down for each other just so they do not split the Northern vote?! angry The tribalism and regional sentiment in this country is just appalling!!!
2) Is this the alliance of ACN and CPChuh I do not want ACN to join up with CPC because it will guarantee a win which means the SS and SE will be relegated and that will be unfair. Instead, they should stay apart and let the best person win.

BTW, these northern people can be tribalistic attimes . angry angry angry
I don't think they really have "born to rule" mentality, they are kinda protesting zoning agreement violation. They allowed OBJ  to represent south for 8 yrs, it got to their turn, their pikin died mindway then the southner that is supposed to honour a deal is sing another tune.

So madam rebranded too has joined the company of riggers?  cheesy
When she, Dora, was mentioned among those who "persuaded" Mrs Ayoka to come out of hiding to complete PDP rigging in Ekiti rerun that time, she denied any involvement, truth is coming out now little by little.

I think we are returning to status quo as at 1999. CPC/PDP - North, ACN - West, PDP/APGA - SS/SE
Nairaland GeneralRe: Who Is Tumfulu? by Remii(m): 8:03pm On Apr 10, 2011
Tunfulu is name Yoruba, especially in Lagos, call a new born baby before it is given a name on the 8th day. I think it has origin in Hausa somehow.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by Remii(m): 7:17pm On Apr 10, 2011
In 2003 Iyiola Omisore was able to win election from prison, without campaign or even a single poster showing his movement from AD to PDP. He had won over and over since then until Jega came to the helms of affair.

What he did from prison he could not do when outside, kudos  to GEJ and Jega.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by Remii(m): 9:26am On Apr 10, 2011
I think the NASS members expected the exodus, that is why they budgeted so heavily for NASS in 2011, to take care of terminal benefits.

PoliticsRe: Lagos State Nass Elections Updates by Remii(m): 11:08pm On Apr 09, 2011
I think Lagos Central Elections would be cancelled, Labour Party was conspicuously missing on the ballot papers. They complained last week also and should have be rectified before toady.
I am not a tribalist. But at the same time, I don't like quisling Yoruba, Yoruba 5th columnists. Men who seem to love the North more than they love their own people. Now, I'm not accusing you of that. . . I'm just saying, it is a very bad thing that must be stamped out in all parts of Yorubaland.

This is no more the 70s, 80s and 90s where such might have been necessary. All I'm saying is that fawning over Hausa and Fulani should be strongly discouraged.
eh eh he, even when an Hausa man is about to give you the first truly free and fair election? after Ademola, Ovie Whisky, Ani, Ephraim, Nwosu, Guobadia , Iwu and the rest? I dey laugh.

You should support who ever can deliver the goodies, you have only one life, if you allow any kind of bigotry, religious or tribal,  to mess it up you are done for.

Sky Blue:
There are only four ACN govenors in Nigeria at present. Would you suggest that Aregbesola is performing the same way you would say, Amaechi, or Fashola or Sullivan Chime or Imoke?
When did Aregbesola get there, how long does it take to award contract, or you expect him to just be a dictator?. He is still implementing Oyinlola's budjet you know. he has just created 20,000 jobs for young men and women, he has reduced school fees in tertiary institutions . You evaluate people on KPIs over a period, at least 1yr.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by Remii(m): 3:34pm On Apr 09, 2011
Again, Labour Party is missing on the ballot papers around Lekki, Lagos. I hope we have not just wasted our time again today?

I just voted, peacefully, no kwams, got my two thumbs marked with ink.

UN observers (Oyinbo man and woman) visited, they walk round, did not talk to anyone, no questions asked, obervere the process for 2minutes and left. I THINK NIGERIANS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GO AND MONITOR THEIR OWN ELECTIONS TOO.

@ jason123, no wahala, Bottomline is Nigeria should come out better after the election. A strong opposition in 2011 will help bring out the best of PDP in 2011. But just for the records, it is completely untrue that Nothing good can come out of PDP. All that is bull. It is an insult on people like:

Donald Duke,
Amaechi,
Ribadu,
Okonjo Iweala,
Sanusi Lamido,
El Rufai,
Soludo,
Deziani Madueke,
Akunyili etc.

who were appointed by and have served under the PDP led governement.

Even if you dont like PDP, it is wrong to cast both the wheat and the grass into the same fire. Mind you, lots of people in CPC today are people who were once in PDP. Are you saying all those who came out from PDP into CPC are bad? If so, why do you want anyone to vote your party. 1 tree cannot make a forest. I am happy however that for once the democratic process is coming alive.
the issue is not appointing experts, its having political will to do the right thiing with gains of their efforts, no one has ever worked with best heads in nigeria like babangida, from wole soyinka, tam david west, olikoye, kalu idika kalu, tai solarin, oladele olasore, olu falae etc etc the list is endless. but what did he do with the gains of their ideas.
PoliticsRe: Reuters Mocks INEC's Incompetence Over Postponed National Assembly Elections by Remii(m): 8:47am On Apr 03, 2011
This notwithstanding, Keyamo said “while Jega must accept this stick from us for this setback, we must commend him for the courage and humility to accept the blame and to quickly save the situation by canceling the entire exercise. That was the best decision under the circumstance. Under Prof. Maurice Iwu, it is under the same circumstance that results were announced where no voting took place and winners were declared – situations that Prof. Iwu also defended with so much vigour. In this case, instead of defending the indefensible, Prof. Jega decided to eat his humble pie.”

that is one thing that doesn't happen in Nigeria. Incompetence would be tolerated untillllllllllllllllll
