Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party (LP) has lauded President Bola Tinubu for nominating an indigene of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Zephaniah Jisalo as a minister.

Jisalo is the first FCT indigene to be nominated as a minister since the present democratic dispensation in 1999, a feat Senator Kingibe, who is also from the area, is grateful for.

“I would like to, first of all, congratulate my nominee and all of the FCT for this nomination. We are all extremely happy and proud,” she said during the ministerial screening in Abuja on Friday.

“We would like to thank the president and the vice president for actually making this a reality; something that we have been wishing and hoping for a very long time.”

While praising the nominee, Senator Kingibe described him as “highly recommended”.

“I have known him for so many years before he became local government chairman; he through two terms and after that two terms in the House of Representatives,” she noted. “So, he is well-known to me and definitely qualified to be a minister”.
She thereafter asked her colleagues to allow Jisalo, a former member of the House of Representatives, to take a bow.

“Therefore, I would urge all of you, according to the protocol that we have been following and as a member of the House – two terms – that he should also take a bow,” the lawmaker said.
“We [FCT people] are so happy [to the extent] that I am actually speechless of which you know that I am not.”

After her speech, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, therefore, asked the lawmakers if the nominee should take a bow. The senators unanimously agreed to that.
Jisalo, from Abuja Municipal/Bwari Constituency, once represented the area in the House of Representatives. Born on April 3, 1970, he was also the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Council Area (AMAC).

There are many people in APC and many competent hands in the country. Festus keyamo, amaechi, Fashola and co just served 8 yrs as minister.
Its only fair that other people are allowed to serve. It's not anybody's father's seat after all. Tinubu will also serve his years and leave. DTS the beauty of democracy.

To be fair to him, he advocated for people who have things to offer and are willing to serve to be allowed to serve irrespective of party affiliation since public service belongs to no one’s father.

Digging deep to bring out a 2019 tweet where he said something not so nice about Tinubu just to blackmail him is nonsense. A lot of those that accused Peter Obi of being a failure while serving as governor are now telling us he’s the best thing to happen to humanity after slice bread. People change their opinion about others with time and it’s no big deal.

So, it’s nothing. The tweet means nothing. He will serve as minister and contribute his quota to the development of the country. We want people who can deliver result in government and not asslickers. You all should learn to deal with it.

In fact he loves opposing views.
This is why all these men queue up around him and are so loyal cos they can speak their minds freely and their voices are heard. I can never forget at the APC primaries when Tinubu passed by the VPand went to shake Buhari, Femi gbaja the senate President went to tell him he missed the VP and dragged him back to greet osinbajo. How many pple can correct their leader like that?

Co-founder and CEO of Nigeria’s biggest tech hub, Co-Creation Hub, Bosun Tijani, has been included in the second batch of the ministerial list by President Bola Tinubu.

As he did in the first batch, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, appeared before the Senate on Wednesday, to deliver the 19 names for screening.

Tijani, a 46-year-old initiated Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg’s first-time visit and received him in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa as a whole in August 2016.

He is a Nigeria-British entrepreneur born on July 20, 1977, with a diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Jos between 1996 and 2002 respectively.

He joined the Lagos Business School, Accenture and Junior Achievement for an MBA Course, Venture in Management in 2003.

He has a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Management from the Warwick Business School in 2006/2007.

In 2013, he did the Innovation for Economic Development executive programme at the Harvard Kennedy School, and also recently added a PhD, in Innovation and Economic Development at the University of Leicester.

From September 2003 till about mid-2004, he worked as a Business Development Manager with DeliveryKing.

He has a broad working experience in the tech world as he also worked as Deployment Lead (Africa) with Hewlett Packard (HP) Global Micro-enterprises Acceleration Programme (GMEAP) for about a year.

He managed the ODel learning centre at the Africa Virtual University in Kenya and completed the deployment of the HP, IEEE and University of Ibadan telecentre in Nigeria within the period.

The 46-year-old also initiated and completed the deployment of the HP Micro-enterprise Acceleration Programme learning centre at the Lagos Business School in Nigeria and provided recognizable support to its deployment in Egypt and Morocco.

Among his wide coverage of work in the tech field was that between November 2005 and May 2007, he was with the International Trade Centre (UNCTAD/WTO) as the ICT Consultant responsible for the design, implementation and management of ICT for trade development-related projects in developing countries.
