But where exactly did this tradition of kissing the bride originate from? I don't think it's in the bible and I'm even surprised a white garment church incorporates it in their weddings. I think it's meant to make the crowd cheer, otherwise its totally pointless. The average Nigerian woman doesn't even know how to kiss to begin with. |
Ugosample:They are not being denied any passport. Even as a Nigerian you can get a greencard today if you have $250k to invest in America. In adulthood, if they choose to further their education overseas, there's an opportunity to do so. My parents made it in Nigeria without formal education and toured the world on vacations. I'm making it in Nigeria. If my children decide to make it overseas, that's for them to decide and chart their own path. Moreover, who's to say that America will remain a super power in the entirety of their lifetime? You have given up on Nigeria and that's terrible. |
Ugosample:Another misguided quitter. During the 1700s, Americans were under colonial rule by Great Britain. The British Royal Navy had conquered 3/4th of the world's land and were the greatest military ever formed on this planet ( yes even greater than the Roman empire and ottoman empire). Fighting against the British Royal Navy with untrained and poorly funded troops was almost suicidal, but in 1775 Americans waged war for their independence. They would rather sacrifice thousands of life at the chance of freedom than remain colonised forever. In 1917, America joined World War I even though this was mostly Europe's war, America realized that staying neutral only meant that the Germans may have unchecked power and dominance and sooner or later they might threaten the north American continent. In 1941, America joined the 2nd World War after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawai. This was by far America's bloodiest war. Teens as young as 17 were drafted against their will to fight because they realized, if the Germans, Japanese or Italians succeed in defeating Alied forces, nobody will be free. The Axis forces would've occupied America and who really knows what atrocities would've been metted on them. This is only a brief synopsis of America's history of dying for their country in hopes of making it great. There are no guarantees of victory, but without these sacrifices, America might have remained colonised until the 1960s, afterwhich they could've just been another 3rd world country. But today, it is the greatest country on the face of the planet. So you are very foolish and short sighted to give up on your home country. You are also very foolish to think you or your children cannot make it in Nigeria. I truly feel bad for your extreme pessimism and I hope you don't pass it on to your offspring. |
damola1:You are a quitter and myopic in reasoning. You don't even give yourself or your children a chance. If everyone reasoned like you, no one will remain in this country. |
Nobody welcomes their child into the world via a Nigerian hospital anymore. Trump should close this loophole, if you give birth in the U.S, that's great but no automatic citizenship. Your child must wait until the age of 21 to apply for citizenship and only if he or she has lived and schooled in the U.S for a combination of 18yrs without any criminal infractions. Our politicians, celebrities and regular Nigerians have exploited this loophole for far too long yet they are first to criticize America and support Russia. I refuse to join the band wagon, I had the opportunity to give birth to my kids in the U.S but gladly refused; they are Nigerians by birth and they will make this country great. |
And we are Africa's biggest economy. |
Terrible. She wants to copy lady gaga but she looks like a pinata. |
Plato |
No wonder her husband divorced her. Mother of 2 and she's still showing off her goods like a harlot. |
JoeOdion:You sound really soft and I blame the media. Watch several movies and you will see men playing the roles of sissies. The masculinity has been substituted with androgentity. Pay a close attention and you will notice a trend of Male actors either dressing, speaking or imitating typical female behaviour just to be funny. I can give countless examples of their attempts to sissify all men, but you are already in the sissy camp and there's no getting through you. You are even having a hissy fit because of my moniker. You should go rent a c0ck and come back. |
Aidejay:I will never take a person who says "whaw!" seriously. You are a typical specimen of this misguided and spoiled generation I speak of. Creating silly words and slangs to drive home a point. Get rid of "whaw!" then I might counter your points. |
Man this generation is so weak and have no clue about it. Young boys and girls got drafted and were sent to wars to fight for their freedom or liberate other nations. Men and women were enslaved and forced to work against their will and in the most inhumane conditions. Men and women marched and self mutilated themselves to call attention to social injustice. Men risked being jailed for several years as sacrifice for a better living conditions for millions of people facing persecution. Millions of men, women and children were sent to concentration camps, beaten, rapped and starved to death. There hasn't been a world war in almost 80 years and now we have a completely weak and soft generation. A generation that has created 7 sexual orientations and 80 different genders simply due to confusion. Masculinity and chivalry has been completely lost, now people have phobias for just about anything you can mention. I know a friend who has agoraphobia or fear of public places. This guy is 38 years old and has not set foot outside his house since he was 20. Leaving his house causes such immense anxiety he literally panics just thinking about it. This is the reason why I strongly advocate for the occurrence of a major world war, genocide and massive atrocities for a brain reset because this internet generation are so spoiled, weak and afraid, they literally panic at everything. |
Imagine leaving 1million naira in the bank and having it lose 12% in purchasing power every single year. At this point I would rather buy bitcoin and take my chances. |
Everyone wants to associate with Nigerian culture and fashion. I see so many white people on Instagram all dressed in asoebi. Nike is making a killing with this super eagles Jersey, I hope they repatriate a percentage of sales to the NFF as gratuity. |
Short man Mo Salah, fish is almost his height. |
Rochas would've sculpted a statute out of this freakish cassava. |
That guy looks like an alien. |
While growing up, we were told the legendary story of Samuel Okwaraji the Nigerian player who lost his life after scoring our only goal in the 99-1 match against India. You see, India was beating us 99-0 simply because they used jazz that turned the ball into lions whenever the Nigerian players tried to score. Nigeria needed to score just one goal to win the match and Samuel Okwaraji was the only one courageous enough to put the ball behind their net but he died instantly as a result. I know doctors will always conjure some fancy diagnosis to explain his sudden death but in the hearts of many Nigerians, Samuel Okwaraji died a legend. I love stories like this, infact they give me an erection. In 1994, another legend made history by scoring against Bulgaria in the 20th minute at cotton bowl stadium Dallas. Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian player to score in the World Cup. |
Sad. For a moment I thought he died in a stampede in Anfield not knowing he died in a viewing centre on campus. What a terrible way to die. |
Goaaaaal Tottenham!!! England has reminded everyone they are the inventors of football. Wow! |
I don't understand, can't they just give up their child for adoption the normal way that it's done or do they get more money by selling the baby directly? Or are they selling the baby to ritualists or what? |
Good |
Another upright Nigerian setting a great example for we all. Truth be told though, even if he decided to withdraw the funds and go into hiding, he may have been caught at some point but that doesn't take anything away from his good gesture. I also commend the governor for showing him gratitude with a car, some others would've just said thank you moved on. There are so many good Nigerians and I will never give up on this country. In 1994 Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian to score in the worldcup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
These are the Elon Musk, Henry Ford and Innocent Chuwkumas of tomorrow. When I was their age, I was busy running around Mushin in my dirty pant while pushing tire or catching tadpoles, but these young innovators are busy building sleek prototypes. The government should immediately locate these boys and send them to the best secondary school and then the best engineering school in the world like MIT with full scholarship. These boys will make Nigeria pride some day just like my Rashidi Yekini made us proud by being the first Nigerian to score in the 1994 World Cup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
Greenvaiper:_Fuck off |
KendrickAyomide:You are an idiot, if everyone thinks like you, we wouldn't have a country. |
Megadixh:Of course the field is always greener on the other side of town. Invest the 2m in Nigeria. If you run to the white man's land, who will build this country? If all the Americans, Canadians and Australians did not sacrifice millions of lives and limbs in fighting the World Wars, where will they stand today? If the white man did not rebuild after the war or after the multiple depressions, recessions and famines, will there still be a country for you to run to? I will advice you to invest that 2m in a small scale business and strive to build Nigeria. If we all run away seriously, who will remain to build it? |
For the loss of an unborn child, fetus really, you took the lives of 9 people and still have the guts to say you have no regrets. I believe in rule of law and the justice system, but in situations like this were the perpetrator is either guilty beyond any reasonable doubt or has confessed to their heinous crimes, I think they should be made to suffer a slow and painful death. This idiot is alive to talk about his lack of remorse while 9 other people have been reduced to bones and ash. He should be dismembered and his body parts fed to worms. Usually i would remind people about how great Rashidi Yekini was by being the first Nigerian to score in the world cup, but I will not mix this legend's name with a soulless ding bat. |
These are true Nigerians. Despite the persecution of Christians by Boko Haram in the North, these love birds showed that they will not let terrorists dictate their lives. I commend this young brave couple and I know they will bear fruits to bold, responsible and fearless children who will disperse around the country and dig their roots regardless of fear, tribalism or terrorism. These are model Nigerians, ready to die while defending this country in the face of extremism. I tip my hat to them just like I tip my hat every day to Rashidi Yekini for being the first Nigerian to score in the 1994 World Cup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
While this is a good suggestion, these companies already know a majority of Nigerian youth idolize Yahoo boys. Many of these guys with unfounded wealth have more social media followers than most brands, so it is only in their best interest to turn a blind eye to Yahoo, afterall they are just trying to sell their merchandise. The average Nigerian fantasize about making it big with little effort and that's why most musicians put on this persona of wealth and luxury because that's what sells and increases their fan base. So no, brands will not terminate their contracts with celebrity ambassadors just because they hype yahoo boys. I for one do not buy any goods or services based on celebrity endorsement. The only person whose endorsement will make me patronize any company is Rashidi Yekeni; his beautiful goal against Bulgaria in the 1994 Worldcup still gives me goosebumps till this day. |
