There's nothing new here, kissing is the leading cause of mononucleosis. The only reason why mononucleosis isn't common in Nigeria is because the average Nigerian either doesn't know how to kiss properly or doesn't like kissing altogether. All politicians, ministers and government officials should be made to sign an agreement that neither they nor their children will be permitted to take vacations or attend schools abroad during their term. Now the Chinese are making progress, they also have Tencent, Baidu and WeChat but the only reason why those tech companies are successful is because they are backed and highly favoured by the Chinese government. I was lucky to travel to Beijing once and I couldn't use Google, gmail, google map or any Google products and that's because Google had to pull out of China because of the numerous restrictions.

The Chinese do not play fair and have never played fair. It is very difficult to compete in China and even If they give you a chance, they add very high tariffs to make your products more expensive than the their own companies.

Another reason why china will continue to lag America in tech has to do with their cultural upbringing. American kids are raised to be outspoken and question authority including their parents and teachers. They are opinionated and allowed to express thoughts. Unlike Chinese children who are brood to respect elders and never speak against elders. This fundamental difference is the reason why Americans are creative and risk takers. China is very good at imitating and copying, that's why most of their advancement has been off stolen intellectual property, reverse engineering and patent infringement.

A major part of South Africa's economy relies on its tourism. Imagine Nigeria, India and China make up 30% of the world's population but have no visa free relationship with South Africa. That just shows you that it's not about population size rather its about dollars and cents.

Stop deceiving yourself. You need to travel out and see how backward this country is. Nigeria is at least 50years behind Europe in development. China is years ahead of us. You think these countries fold their legs and wait for Nigeria. They are developing day by day while Nigeria is developing 20 years by 20 years. A lot of Nigerians really need excursion to Europe and America to see what development really means.

China was a very poor country with small villages and farms some 30 years ago. Their exponential growth started once they allowed some variation of capitalism and ultimately become a member of the WTO. They allowed foreign companies to build their factories and take advantage of the cheap labour. These are exactly the steps we need to take as china is slowly moving away from an export based economy to a domestic consumer based one. Cost of living and wages are creeping up in china and foreign manufacturers are looking for the next cheap labour to boost their bottom line. Africa is the next China and Nigeria should be tapping into this opportunity in the near future.

I think its time we do away with dual citizenship. If you are a citizen of a foreign country either by birth or naturalisation you should be forced to denounce your Nigerian citizenship as it is technically unfathomable to have the best interest of two countries at heart.

Nigeria is slowly but surely progressing and one day, it will undergo the same scale of economic growth and prosperity that China has enjoyed over the last 30 years. All those who ran away and abandoned Nigeria for greener pastures abroad, will be the same ones begging to return for better opportunities.

A nice idea, however I wonder how this works. Unlike taxi drivers, Okada drivers are not always idle and usually get passengers. What happens when the okada driver is heading to a pickup location and is flagged by a passenger, will he just wave that passenger off while burning petrol to head to the first customer?

I wish them luck but whatever they do, they should make sure they properly wash and disinfect those helmets everyday as well as provide passengers with disposable hair covers to apply before placing those smelly sweaty helmets on.
