Investmentfreak:Cotton Bowl stadium Dallas 1994. Watch it on YouTube bro, it will change your life. |
No matter what anybody says or does, I will never give up on this country. Even if I'm shot and killed by a corrupt SARs officer tomorrow, I will be at peace for my little contributions in making the lives of those around me better. Dangote, Ifeanyi Uba, Otedola and other billionaires should take cues from Bill Gates. This guy has donated more than half of his net worth in discovering cures for HIV and malaria; paying for vaccines for polio, measles etc. Had it been Bill Gates did not donate more than 50% of his wealth, he will still remain the richest man in the world, but even at that, he's still amongst the top 3 richest people in the world and he has sworn to donate even more. It's good to recognize great people who will one day be remembered by several generations later. I will always remember that in 1994 Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian to score in the World Cup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
yemblaze:And you think police in the white man's land doesn't randomly shoot and kill innocent blacks? |
Quite sad, so many people are excited to flee their motherland to help grow and build up a white man's land. It's just like what my friend used to say, 'immigration is modern day slavery except this time they do not have to forcibly chain able bodied men to slave ships or rape our women, they just make it easier for your youngest and brightest minds to simply emigrate in droves'. Who will build this country if you all leave, have you ever thought of that? You think once you run to Canada you will still have any reason to return home? How about your kids? Do you think by taking them to Nigeria for 3weeks vacation will entice them to one day relocate to their father land? Sure nobody thinks about these things. The biggest problem the black race has is selfishness while the white man thinks about the greater good of a community. Everyone only thinks about what will benefit them and their family and that's where it ends. Even in the so called abroad, your fellow Nigerian will not want to accommodate or guide you because they think you will be better than them. Common info about schools, work or getting certain government documents, your fellow Nigerian in the diaspora will not help you. White countries and white people In general are successful because they collaborate and help each other. U.S, Canada and the UK are amongst the most developed countries today due to strong trade and military alliance. A white employer will hire a fellow white man for a lucrative job position before he hires an immigrant with the same credentials. Before anyone says I'm ranting because I was denied Visa or whatever PPR thing you guys relish here like a lottery ticket, I also used to think abroad was the be all end all after graduating from university. I also hustled and eventually left Nigeria. I made $265,000 that year working several overtime hours (I have the W-2 and tax return forms to prove it) but I was never really satisfied because this part of me kept feeling like I betrayed my country. It takes a special kind of person to self reflect and then decide to walk away from a lifestyle of adequate security, good health care system, great schools, cheap food and law & order but without any sacrifice, Nigeria will perpetually remain a 3rd world cesspool. I moved back, got a job and started a mentorship and scholarship program where we find youths whose families are unable to pay their elementary and secondary school fees and we partner with local businesses to raise funds for these kids. School isn't for everyone, we also train several kids in IT, carpentry, plumbing, construction and mini importation. Has it been easy? No. Do I sometimes miss the convenience of my 2 bedroom apartment in north Los Angeles? You bet I do. But do I feel accomplished knowing that I'm making a positive change in small ways that will alleviate poverty, possibly reduce crime and put more food on the tables of a few Nigerians? Certainly. The UN needs to look into countries like Canada that take advantage of the dire situation in Nigeria and prowl on our brightest and youngest minds for the sole purpose of developing their country and replacing their aging workforce. Just today, their Prime minister was begging President Buhari to give him 1 million Nigerians. This just sounds like the year 1756 where the white man met with local chiefs and traded silver, mirrors and gun powder for African slaves. While I know most of you have made up your mind to flee your motherland, the least I can urge you to do is to find reputable charities and NGOs in Nigeria and donate to them once in a while. Goodluck. |

Besides the Toyota coaster and Mercedes Benz Tourismo RHD, Innoson buses are the 3rd most fuel efficient non hybrid buses in the market. As unbelievable as it may seem, Innoson buses fuel consumption is 2.1L/100KM, meaning for every 2.1L, their buses run for 100KM. They are so fuel efficient, they rival hybrid and electric buses. Innoson motors are also built with high quality titanium, very light weight yet 1000 times stronger and more durable than aluminium. They are aerodynamically designed to maximize speed and reduce fuel consumption. They are 3 times cheaper than their European or Japanese rivals. Best of all, they are made in Nigeria and you should feel very proud to support the Nigerian economy because every Innoson bus you buy puts food on the tables of so many families. I wish you success in your endeavors. We should all be proud of our fellow Nigerians, regardless of tribe or religion, I will forever remain proud of Rashidi Yekini being the first Nigerian to score in the 1994 world cup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
This thread makes me happy. Rashidi Yekini is finally receiving the recognition that he deserves. |

What a joke this administration is. So we should be jubilating that the inflation rate decreased 0.06% or less that 1/100th%? How significant is this reduction when inflation is still in double digits? Every year I leave my money in the bank, it loses 11.3% of its value. Inflation is high, wage growth is stagnant while food prices have increased drastically. I weep for my country. Our leaders have failed us, the only people making this country proud are our footballers ex the likes of Rashidi Yekini, Daniel Amokachi and Amunike who swept Bulgaria in the 1994 world cup. |
I know some haters will come here and ask where's his wife but why force a man to marry and raise kids if he's not ready or interested in all that? His passion is music, cars and living it up like a bachelor, should he get married and become miserable because that's what the public wants? In nineteen ninety four, Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian player to score in the worldcup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
Everyone is using this innocent girl to make money from internet traffic to blog sites and paid ads on YouTube videos and I think it's wrong. Everyone benefiting from this girl's plight should donate all profit to her and her parents. I don't know what it is about warri people that always make them act like they have fire in their head even at an early age. 80% of primary schools in Nigeria look like this, just come and see the deplorable state of the schools in my neck of the woods, Mushin, you will leave in tears. Pop quiz, do you know the name of the first Nigerian player to score in the 1994 Worldcup? Hint R.Y. |
Another Nigerian legend, the guy Is so good, they named him twice. I remember this game back in 1993 when Jay Jay Okocha was playing in Europe. He really embarrassed Oliver Khan and the entire defence. German Keeper Oliver Khan was known to have serious anger issues, I can imagine how humiliated he was that day if care wasn't taken he might've turned full Nazi that day. I appreciate you OP for sharing this piece of Nigerian history, football legends should never be forgotten and we should always embrace our own. A year after JayJay's demoralizing goal, Rashidi Yekini entered a rarified space by becoming the first Nigerian player to score in the worldcup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
naturefellow:He's a legend |
9jaRealist:Thanks for the correction. I will add that Greece immigration system is a bit different. Automatic citizenship by birth is only given to children whose parents are also citizens. Everyone else have to spend several years in school and I believe after 18th birthday they might grant them citizenship. |
We all know all these guys who schooled abroad usually pay someone to complete their NYSC let alone the president's son. It's a farce, it's all a publicity stunt. Buhari's sons and the rest of his lineage are set for life, set for another 20 generations even. It's not like he even needs to serve to get a government contract. Rashidi Yekeni had no support while growing up in the slums of Kaduna, yet he carved his name night history books by becoming the first Nigerian to score in the 1994 worldcup. |
Bbbwings:Shittymorph is my role model |
Amala is rich in potassium and vitamin K which gives stamina. I can't even believe this is what they are teaching university students at Coventry. Amala should be banned but the white man's pizza should be embraced abi? The same amala that gave our boys stamina in the 1994 worldcup where Rashidi Yekini, Amokachi and Amunike scored against Bulgaria in our first ever worldcup? |

He's Greek, Nigerians shouldn't stake a claim of this basketball prodigy. He was born and raised in Greece, schooled in Greece, given the opportunity to play in their 3rd division basketball before being discovered by an NBA scout. Nigeria did nothing to develop his talent and had it been he grew up in Nigeria, he might've ended up a motor park taut. Every single member of his family played sports or are playing sports. His late father was a former football player. His mother is a former Olympian. His eldest brother plays football in Europe. His other 3 brothers are playing highschool or college basketball in the U.S. But what's even more amazing is the fact that his youngest brother who's only 14yrs old and 6'9 tall will be taller and better than Giannis. It's mind boggling to think that someone in the Antetokounmpo family will be better than Giannis. Had it been young Rashidi Yekini was raised overseas and went to a football academy, he might've been the next Maradona, his stunning goal in the 1994 worldcup proved that he was a raw talent that needed refining. |
Perpetual97:Lol, thanks dear ![]() |
kernniejay:And that's the ultimate goal, if I have the money to erect structures in his name, I would. |
9jaRealist:Good point. |

So what if the school was never registered, what does it have to do with the collapsed building? What exactly is the requirement for registering if not to pay a large fee every year? The owner was very smart, he chose to save his money instead. What i'm perplexed about is how all those guys in this picture have flat tummy and 6 packs, is it hunger or is it from their daily activities? I go to the gym 5 days a week, do push up, lift dumbell, do squats, do dead lift, do crunches and I still have no 6 pack. Maybe its not in my genes. Do you know that in 1994, Rashidi Yekini became the first player to score in the worldcup where Nigeria defeated Bulgaria 3-0? |
"Plus sized model" is only a euphemism for morbidly obese. This lady is one fried chicken away from having a massive heart attack. There is nothing appealing about being 200Kg, she looks like a water buffalo. Nobody is saying she should weigh 50kg and wear size 1, but being this fat only puts so much pressure on the heart and it can only carry that load but so long. Young Rashidi Yekini was 6'1 75kg of muscle when he scored Nigeria's first goal in the world cup June 1994. |
PerfectlyPerfect:Twitter does use AWS, IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure and many others. |
I feel sorry for all Boeing shareholders right now, I see their stock price falling another 30% before everything returns to normal. What I love about this Boeing story is the fact that I can head to facebook and twitter and talk about the aircraft even though i've never flown on a plane before and people will like my post. If something isn't done about this, Airbus may steal market share from Boeing. On the 20th minute on June 21st 1994, Rashidi became the first Nigerian player to score in the worldcup where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
I think of you Even though you are gone Young Rashidi Yekini a legend you've become I think of you Even when others have forgotten Your statue will be made golden I think of you Even when a nation moved on You made my childhood fun I will immortalize you, son I think of you A kid from the slums You rose to the peak Without losing your virtues I think of you Even though it sounds silly Many think its crazy I think it is necessary I think of you Even as you lay in peace Your legend gives me solace I smile, I shall never grimace 23 October 1963 – 4 May 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbD7hu3nBE8 |

In this era of fake news, it is very important that front page threads should be dutiful verified before publishing. All over the world, major social media sites are clamping down on fake news and we should be doing the same thing here. How can a ridiculous news story from a blog be pushed to front page when it is obvious that OP is just trying to drive traffic to his blog site? In the north, anyone caught stealing or killing a cow is stoned to death let alone someone who killed 50 out of 150 cows. This story makes no sense, what makes sense is that in 1994, Rashidi Yekini became the first Nigerian to score in the worldcup Tournament where we defeated Bulgaria 3-0. |
