These clerics are all businessmen. They always find ways to generate more income and enrich their pockets.
You only see it as generation of more income because of the hardness and stiffness of your heart.
It is like saying govt is building more hospitals to secure more taxes in the future. They may be building hospitals but that's for the current health issues. A malicious minded person may see it as revenue drive but will it make sense for a 25-35 year old to die and the parents try to conceive again? Never! It is better govt steps in and build hospitals to prevent death by health issues.
That's what the church is after. After concieving a soul in the kingdom, it will be stupid to watch that soul die for lack of food and medicine. They need bigger halls to feed the saved souls. It has little to do with income from those souls but their welfare.

LordReed:
So why didn't Peter build any auditoriums to feed the sheep in?
because there were very huge auditoriums in Jerusalem already. When 3000 were added in a single day in Acts of the Apostles, it was one of such auditoriums that was used.
The current 15,000 seater of the church is already fully exhausted and has to hold 5 services on Sundays thus a need for a bigger one. That's different from the situation peter was facing.

Sure maybe I am missing the point but still spending N100bn on an auditorium when you believe Jesus is coming soon seems like a pretty gigantic stretch. Especially when you realise that the early Christians gave their things up because they too were expecting Jesus to be coming soon.
That Jesus is coming soon is no excuse to permit spiritual sabbatical. When Jesus asked Peter to feed His sheeps, there was no condition attached to it as to whether the feeding should stop before Jesus comes.

Image123 and LordReed, I think both of you are missing the point in Mark 10.
Verse 21 stresses the effect of giving to the needy, which is to have heavenly treasures.

Verse 23 - 24 clearly reveals the trust the young man was having in his riches instead of being a blessing to the needy was his fault.

Lastly, the decision to sell and give to a needy person or true charitable cause is a personal one that's conceived on a by one on one or personal basis. I doubt all the pastors involves in making the decision to give that money to the needy can easily agree on it and on which needy to give to. Church contribution is a sort of public money but personal money is what genuinely come from the heart of a giver and thus translate to heavenly treasures. Even when Jesus was replying Judas, He personalized the reply to Judas because all the twelve contributing before giving would have made less sense than each one making the decision on their own.

Only one God created the stars, the Suns, the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto; dozens of moons; and millions of asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. Beyond our own solar system, they have discovered thousands of planetary systems orbiting other stars in the Milky Way.

Jesus was sent only to our own earth. Who was overlooking the affairs of other worlds when Jesus was on the earth.?. The answer is: none other than the One true God. So He alone is the true God, and the only One to be worshipped. He is the God of Jesus, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, and thousands of other prophets of God as well as all human beings and all things.

So building a ten trillion Naira building means nothing. What only matter is to worship the One true God, the creator of all things, inside such building.
The aim of a bigger hall is to accommodate more souls per time. If you say gathering to hear th e word being preached is bad, then I rest my case, otherwise, a bigger hall is better to help improve quality of teachings and service.

In all honesty, in my own opinion, I think this project is needless.

Why not use the money to conduct soul winning crusades globally? This time is super ripe for soul winning as the rapture is so so close.

But anyway, bishop oyedepo is a prophet. If God told him clearly to build the largest auditorium in the world, I have no beef with it.
soul winning and soul renewal are complementary efforts towards making the kingdom of God. Both are equally important. All over the bible, the emphasis on teaching is undeniable. Teaching in church like teaching in schools need condusive environment and if the teacher teaches all the student in two class periods, I believe it is better than doing it over five class periods thus a need for a bigger hall to accommodate more students.

I love agbado.

Stop calling something you can't afford useless.

Agbado is part of Nigerian's diet and many people in Nigeria survive from eating corn or food processed from corn
Corn is useless if that's all a presidential hopeful can promise along with some phantom cassava. Ordinarily it the most common food but promising corn and cassava isn't enough. What will he do concerning insecurity that's driving farmers away from farm? Disease killing crops? Lack of storage facilities? Power issue that making mechanization of farming hell?

No detailed plan and just phantom promises. That's a useless agbado there.

Acquisition of knowledge and skill is no guaranty for finding a place that needs that knowledge. A safer plan is to have knowledge and skills that can be used outside organisation and places of mass employment.

Good, Israel is lucky to have the world's foremost superpower as the closest and most important ally.

But this two-state solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict won't be easy to achieve, Israel isn't interested or ready for that.

Donald trump made a big mistake by moving US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a highly disputed territory

I'm glad that president biden is meeting Palestinian president, something Donald trump would never do

Israel should stop using excessive force on Palestinians, I will never support modern day apartheid.

The holy bible doesn't teach us to hate people of other faiths, Palestinians are so helpless right now.

The death of American Palestinian Al-Jazeera journalist in the hands of Israeli forces this year and the attack on her coffin doesn't portray Israel well, mourners and pallbearers carrying her casket were beaten and humiliated by Israeli police.

Enough of senseless killings, we're all human beings, don't degrade and dehumanise people of other faiths/ creed, tribe and race.
Stop talking.

This is how Nigerian men think.
I build house, you build yours. I will go and build one bigger than yours to show I'm richer.

What do we call this mentality?
if as a haulage driver you have to make five trips to move certain amount of good from point A to point B, and along the line you get an opportunity to use a bigger truck to move same goods in two round trips, will you call your new truck a show off? I doubt.
Two services will benefit more worshippers and allow the preaching to be more detailed. The extra time spent moving people in and out four times every Sunday will be spent moving them in and out once. Think about it.

For people who are expecting Jesus to come back it baffles me how spending N100bn on an auditorium makes a lick of sense. The Bible that these people follow records the Apostles spending money on their fellow believers for their needs not on fancy meeting places. It baffles me how this is what they think is a priority, except of course this is the result of church organisation in action. LoLz.
It is not about fancifulness but bring number of services down. Fancy is good when affordable but the capacity of the church is important here.

If the subsidy is proving too much, it may be better to adjust the subsidy level by pushing pump prices upwards to:
1) reduce demand, a move that will further lessen the burden of subsidy on FG due to reduced local consumption.
2) reduce profit margin for smugglers, and like the above, further lessen the subsidy burden on FG due to reduced leakages.

It is more reasonable to achieve these three effects than risk inflation. Inflation isn't something that can be easily reversed.

Between 200 and 250 should do for now because many people are already queueing to buy within that range of price.
