Politics › Re: Kogi Guber: Press Release By Supreme Council Of Igala Nation To Gov.yahaya Bello by respect80(m): 12:08pm On May 21, 2019 |
Reference: But if you donot have a strong, credible alternative then how do you stop him from winning. In states where governments have changed politics is virile. Ekiti was a titanic battle but the Fayose juggernaut was railroaded, similarly in Imo where there were multiple political goliaths...where is the competition in Kogi.
And this is the problem with Kogi and its people. When I say feudalism is an anathema to development and democracy, this is the proof. The years of the Audu dynasty has not permitted the broadening, deepening and growth of the political space with respect to leadership. Since the Abacha era it was all about Audu and his court. His influence pervaded even the other goverments of Wada and the man before him. And he too violently crushed all opposition while the people watched and cheered. Back then you were either in the Audu camp or not. You think Bello has not learnt from that. He too wants to create a dynasty.
This is the result. Even neighbouring Benue stands a better chance at democratic advancement because the political elites there have refused to adopt a monarchical system and appoint a so called 'spiritual leader' or 'political king'. It is the people who permitted this creation that must dismantle it at their cost. They must rise up and cut Bello to size before it becomes too late the way Imolites did. Failure to do that and not only will he win again but after both terms he will 'Jagaban' the state for decades to come and the puppets he will instal are best imagined.
Nuff said.
PS. I hope Lagosians are watching...right now everything seems jolly. So called 'performance' is used as an excuse to mask lack of democratic development. The feudalism happily supported today will be an albatross in the future. This is certain. There will be a day of reckoning when it will become imperative to change, when society must lend itself to structures for salvation, but the cost will be too severe to bear then to create them. It happened in Zaire. It happened in Ivory Coast. It happened in Egypt. It happened in Togo. It happened in Tunisia. Prince Audu was acclaimed to be a dynamic personality in his time who did good things in the 90's by that standard. Today he is no more. The debts (not monetary) to society he left are being repaid with severe interest today. Kogi doesn't have the political structure to remove Bello nor replace him with something better. He is likely to win again. Thumbs up This is exactly the reason why I pity the youth of this country who applaud politicians with the political intuition to crush and silence oppositions. Considering the fact that we practice democracy as a form of government, I don't think any democracy can bring dividends in the absence of strong oppositions. |

Princedapace: Lol, bro, I must move to Bostwana if I can't get Canada..
Naija is not for my kids.. Lie lie. Here, the masses are senseless.. It's truly frustrating bro. That's why I always laugh at all the efforts they make to curb insecurity and crime. What they don't understand is that so long as the gap between the rich and the poor remains as wide as it is, insecurity and crime rate will continue to be on the high side in our society. In most developed countries, it is only when you compared how much individuals have in their accounts that you can truly tell the difference between the rich and the poor due to the flat rate access all their citizens have to the basic needs to support life (food, shelter, clothing and medical care). If our politicians can create such a society for us, no one would care if they launder trillions on daily basis. |

Banter1: we the youths of this country can make it right. if only we are bold enough to reject them without any form of fear. massive protest day and night all over the country. You made a point but with the level of hunger and frustration in the land, the youths you're talking about are as good as puppets in the hands of these politicians. That is why it is difficult to attribute Nigeria's problems to either the youth or the politicians. The funny thing is that most people who try to stir or front any kind of protest in this generation now are either hunted down or compromised. So, even "hopeless" is out of sight. Gone are the good old days when people stood for what they believe till the end... |

Onlineguru19: Thanks brother. I really appreciate. I only have a single motive and it must be achieved despite whatever insult I get. I don't want to see another fellow to fall for this clodpate.
Fhenzar must go down.!!!!!!! I have been a victim twice to a Nigerian source and a foreign source as well... Though after the first one I vowed never to attempt buying a game again until a well respected friend of mine motivated me to try the foreign source and I ended up loosing about 26 euro to the guy. Surprisingly, the foreign source guy usually post some free games on his Facebook page like 4 or 5 odds but I wasn't even lucky enough to come across it because I traveled to the village that very moment to oversee a project and the internet network there is just limited to some areas where u can stand to access it. And he normally post the game at very odd hour and very close to the kick off time. Considering how consistent he was predicting the free games and winning I decided to give him a try but I was scammed. |

This is his details 0091720516 access bank, Akanmu Andrew
So painful. I think it's high time EFCC rise up and have a section that is capable of tackling minor crimes like this one. A stitch in time they say saves nine. If you are on Twitter, kindly share your plight there and tag EFCC, but be ready to hear some who will call you lazy, greedy etc but notwithstanding, Twitter is a better platform for this kind of situation... It's not like I'm sure they will attend to your situation but if it's not given negligence, that account number there is good enough to get him... |

Originalsly: Hmmm.....so the lot should remain vacant?.... and wouldn't the same be should a new building be constructed? Would his car/cars be destroyed too? ... or that is different. The other members should be the ones living in fear. All properties and assets by these criminals need to be seized... sold at auctions..converted to orphanages.....offices...clinics...or community use. In as much as I understand your views, I would like to tell you that there's something you are leaving outside your consideration and that is the fact that the level of civilization under which your thoughts would be attainable can only be imagined in the kind of society we have here. Most of us are just nothing but hypocrites who don't do the things we expect from others. It's good to convert such building into schools, clinics, orphanages etc like u said but we're yet to have that sort of society where criminals would be civilized enough to forsake their ways after being disbanded. Can't you see some people protesting for Naira Marley to be freed despite being guilty of the crime he was accused? These are the same set of youths who would have blamed the EFCC if they ignored the matter.... Try to be conversant with the kind of society you are living in cos Nigeria is not America |
