harveygordon: Call them to know the exchange rate they are using then transfer the naira equivalent to their Nigerian bank account. On the remark you must include your booking reference number (PNR) & telephone number. The process is very quick no hassle at all, but call to find the exchange rate (I paid a balance because of this). I was told that there was currency converter on thier website but since I already paid I didn't border to check. 1 Like |

Visa Approved Lagos Consulate Alot of blue papers flying across board on that day. I arrive lagos on Sunday all the hotels that was recommended here to me where fully booked that (it was showering so everywhere is abit cold) evening. Finally got one by 9pm. My interview experience below: She did more of typing/reading than asking me questions. VO: Good morning and welcome, give me your 1-20/passport Me: Good morning, here is it. VO: Typed/read for about 1-2minutes, She then ask why do you want to study this course in this (She never mentioned the name of the school) school. Me: I want to study this course in this school because of the research work of Professor James Madison which I believe can be easily transferred to case studies in the region where I am from in Nigeria (She looked at me with surprised). His research at the moment is on solute transport modeling of contaminant in groundwater, I believe the skills and knowledge I will acquire from working with him on this project will help me address the issue of groundwater contamination we are currently facing. The region where I am from, we are faced with a range of challenges one of which is groundwater contamination. VO: Typed/read for another 1-2 minutes then she ask what will you do with this course?. Me: I want to set up my own Environmental Consulting Firm to work with Federal Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in ensuring that there is access to clean water for everyone in the region. VO: Typed/read for another 1-2 minutes then she ask I see you have a deficit ($10, 560), who is paying? Me: My friend who is based in Canada (She looked at me) VO: Is he a Canadian? VO: No VO: What is your relationship with him? Me: He is my friend from childhood, we grew up in the same neighborhood. He is passionate about my plans of establishing my own consulting firm. VO: What does he do Me: He work with an SSS organization in Canada. VO: Typed/read for another 1-2 minutes then she ask where do you work? Me: I work with DYZ Services; we are into a range of work that include groundwater investigation and borehole development. VO: Gave me the white paper and said I should follow the instructions on the paper. Note: What I notice on that day is that alot of persons are largely unprepared for the interview. There was this guy who built up his case very well and then the VO ask him where is the bank statement of his sponsor, he said he didn't bring it and that he had used it to apply for his 1-20 initial. There where others I can't mention here. My interview wasn't as smooth as it is up there, but I ensured that I nailed all the points. After preparations pray to the being you serve. I prayed to God, because in my own case I cannot take God out of the scheme of thing (not by my power). I just thought I should share this here. 36 Likes 4 Shares |

Good day all. So I got an admission for an MSc program (Environmental Science) in the US with no funding. Although the Program Director told me that they are working on additional funding (Which I cannot rely on) and will inform me if there is any update regarding funding. The total funds required for one academic is about $34,000 (All Fees including living expenses). I am thinking about accessing loan for the Program through one of the agency mentioned on this thread. And a friend is willing to gift me some funds as well. I can be able to take care of Visa Fee, SEVIS Fee and Flight fare. I want to know from those who are already based in the US if this is worth the risk, most especially with the loan repayment. All opinions are welcome. Thank You |

Experience of a close friend: This is for those who might be having similar problem/challenges with WES regarding the "YEAR" of award on ECA. His certificate has the date he completed his final examination (2008), date he was awarded the certificate (2009), and date the Vice Chancellor signed the certificate (2011). WES decided to use the date the VC signed the certificate rather than the YEAR of award. Nigga have been working with Statement of Result since 2010. He had to write WES regarding the discrepancy in the ECA & Certificate. WES responded with an apology and a revised ECA with the YEAR of award was issued. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

That is why it is always good to contact the agencies responsible for things like this, not relying on hearsey and speculations. BTW you said earlier that they "WES" said you must submit another credentials for Course By Course is that correct? Pardon me if I got you wrong. |

Fabulousfinite:Cost of posting varies from UPS-DHL. For DHL, it was about #11k+ sometime ago. UPS was less down that amount at the time. I don't know if prices has changed since then. |

clock89: What was your shipping method? Standard Mail or DHL. My experience with Standard Mail without P.O. Box, my letters have ended in someone else box. These has happen to me on three different occasions, though outside Lagos. If that ll work for the fellow then no problem he could fill in his/her house address. |

Tlontin: Don't waste your money use standard mail (You can always use the soft copy that ll be available in your account). For your address; you can use your Church/Mosque/Others address if they have an active P.O. Box. 1 Like |

Jbelieve: You cannot copy the roles and responsibilities as stated on CIC; that is not right. Here is what I think you should do sit-down and correlate your job duties with that of CIC. It doesn't have to match word-word, but it should mean the same thing/function the same way. 3 Likes |

darlingdadon: In addition to what others have said check this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/find-national-occupation-code.html On the filter items (search bar) type in Civil Engineer and see what you have. Your brother knows his job duties, he can continue from there. These things are not difficult. 6 Likes |
