As much as I like Fashola and believe he will do very well as president, however, I will only lend a support to him in the presence of fairness and equity. Nigeria is a very complex country and people's allegiance are most often than not tied to their regions and tribes first before any other concern, hence the sharing system and culture in Nigeria. It will be grossly insensitive for our yoruba brothers to at this point-after they have let OBJ use their slot as president with the support of other regions to be clamouring for another shot when there are seriously some other regions yet to use their turn. I mean, this whole thing goes beyond fashola and his good heart for development, it is not like Fashola is the only person that can move Nigeria forward, there are as well excellent administrators from other regions too who have been able to utilize their meagre accounts(both fed and IGR) to achieve very worthy developments in their states. Enugu state and Rivers always come to mind. I am even more awed by Enugu's. Am sure if they have thesame access to cash like Fash they will equally do excellently well like Fashola even better as they wont need to look over their shoulders for a Tinubu like Uncle Fash does. Before anyone begins to drum support for anybody, let justice and fairness be their guard, an Igbo presidency may not seem imminent now because of political calculations and considerations but in fairness and considering other regions sentiments, Fashola will be president after other regions too have been given thesame opportunity as was given his region. I would rather he is appointed to serve as a minister in the government by then to keep him relevant till the time when he will be better positioned to be president thab go against people's sense of fairness and equity, I realy want him too to be president but on fair grounds. |
Seriously, I have lost faith in many of these so-called men of God. Last time I got angry arguing this same issue with a member of the church, at a point I thought I was arguing with a programmed robot as he kept missing the pointing and continued to aimlessly quote the bible to support his claims. My question is; how does owning a jet help you win souls for christ, is it not out of place that you are going to convince people in remote areas to accept christ (as often claimed) in a private jet? A private jet in the Remotest part of the world, does it not sound stoooopid? How many of these MOGs are in any elaborate programs that show young people how to succeed after school, work with government and give skills to poor people. Even the white man with all his greed and vanity had missionaries who where dedicated to the development of people's welfare, they had quality and heavily subsidized schools, they created vocational centres and the likes to better the way people live. Today all one sees in all these new generation preachers is vanity, imagine somebody giving us a list of MOGs with private jets like it is competition, that is the latest fad now, acquiring flying toys. How about putting that money to heavily subsidize school feez and other payments at his University or is it the church's so that ordinary members can get thesame quality education. What exactly is the benefits of being a member of all these new happy-feel-good churches exploiting our collective expectations of things getting better. Is it the very kool and hip soundbites from them about prosperity and stuff, if that is all there is to being there then I could as well quit my membership and listen to rap music am sure I will get original lines to give me that sunday placebo. These pastors are as vane and extremely materialistic as any criminal politician, their sense of fairness is warped, they all lose it when the money starts rolling in, the geedy beast in them begins to come on strongly like a designer outfit, they may try to cover it up with preachings and misquotations but a discerning mind still will know. |

Jason did you say points? Dude you only cited one million reasons why "you" think it will not work, am not the type of person to argue aimlessly and endlessly just for the sake of it. You have got know cogent points just speculations and manufactured excuses, am not in a contest to have the last say, you can do that with the jobless junkies here. If you have got some real cogent points to debate, I will oblige you but petty talk? Count me out, bro! And yeah dude, you still need to get laid for real, you are fast becoming dull and unimaginative unlike when you first started. I remember how cogent and articulative you used to be with your points(especially when accused of being pure Yoruba even when you claim to be edo/yoruba) not this wild guesses and weak arguments devoid of facts and common sense. Dude, make that call and ask her over mehn, you are losing your MOJO! |
Jason you seriously need to get laid jor |
lucabrasi:exactly my points too. They have not shown any reason besides the gists the little demons dancing alanta on their shoulders is whispering to them in paranoia. Imagine some people arguing like they are more privy to classified info on the state than Okorocha the state governor. Reading through Jason's very petty post is enough to conclude these people are just here for straw-man arguments than for any intelligent debate. His arguments have no substance just "ifs" and "but", you know somebody finding a reason to discredit something. The other one is a loose canone. . .lol. .her arguments are junk argument dont take that one seriously jare. . She already has a reputation for arguing like a toad. . TeteHeheh. |
jason123:Like seriously, are you trying to manufacture excuses where there are none? You almost sound like you dont want it on whatever merit. What are all those excuses you are concocting to make a point, dude! So you are saying he just woke up from a trance and declared free education? What plans and data are you talking about even after I ve shown you figures( culled from imo state government website). Dont even try to act like Awolowo embarked on some extremely complicated and elaborate education program that took sky rocket scientists of Yoruba extration to organize and implement. And what is all that talk about corruption not being in government during his time, sorry sir, you are not talking to a toddler in Nigeria history here. You even had to lie that Zik tried to implement thesame thing in the east but failed and attributed stuff to some super I.Q Awolowo possessed. You just like to play subtle jingoism abi? My statement about some people being prejudiced because an Igbo state is involved was not directed to you but like white on rice you felt the need to claim it was about you, so we can in turn digress and start the usual childish rant about your tribals having super-brains while others are poo like you are trying to do with your endless rants. Infact, on the other hand, may be it was meant for you, wear it mehn, it so fits you! Jeeeeez, what a laughable attempt at hair splitting. Guy go and get laid jare, you are not thinking straight at all. |
Part of the problem Aregbesola has is self-inflicted, I would rather a free education policy that is easier to sustain than his 20,000 job creation which means every month you pay millions in salaries to people who are not doing anything productive besides the fact that they ve been employed by the government to do jobs that will bring no revenue to the state coffers. That is the main reason he wont get comissioners because he just created a bigger problem to solve another one. I still continue to affirm that free education is a sustainable policy that is not as expensive as these whiners here are trying to show. Government is not paying anybody's school fees, basically, they are going to fund those aspects of education that were being funded by the meagre school fees that were hitherto being paid, improve on school facilities, get more school materials, bring in initiatives to promote better educational standards, get more childrien enrolled, especially in rural areas. It is not like the entire budget of the state will go into it, already both primary & secondary schools in Imo state are heavily subsidized, making it entirely free will only need a little bit more money that can be cushioned by the conversion of the state's security votes and prolly increasing efforts to generate more IGRs in the state. I repeat it is not rocket science and it is more sustainable than creating out of no where jobs only to pay people every months for unproductive labour. People that say it can not be done should not stop people that are doing it, period! |
Nice one, especially with the closing of gate at 7:45am. Nigerian Civil servants are part of the problems, they have very bad work ethics. Imagine giving such excuse to a bank manager whether im no go kick ur ass to d curbs. |
What exactly is the basis of this whole arguments; is it that free education is an unrealizeable policy given the federal allocation to the state or that the new governor is not being sincere(which is not a fact but an opinion). I am begining to feel some people just criticize cos it is an Igbo state, after all a similar policy was also announced in a SW state, how come the governor is not getting a heat? Na wa o. Awolowo was able to give an entire region free education without anyone questioning his motives or financial abilities, now a state governor is about to do thesame thing and all these closet tribal haters are here foaming in the mouth in disguise of having an opinion and painting all kinds of weird scenerio in their feverish mind. To the extent one Jason123 dubiously and conveniently reduced the number of people from an entire region that benefited from awolowo's free education policy to be minute compared to prospective beneficiaries of just a state that has anounced thesame policy. What a maneuvering lier! Currently, Imo state has the following: (i) No. of Government owned Secondary Schools = 309 (ii) No of Government owned Primary School = 1245 (iii) No of Tertiary Institutions owned by State Government =3 (iv) No of approved private owned Nursery Schools in Imo State = 158 (v) No of Privately owned Primary Schools = 132 (vi) No of approved privately owned Secondary = 139 (vii) No of approved privately owned Vocational Schools = 319 Total enrolment for secondary school in the 2003 school year was 486,026. Enrolment in technical colleges and vocational/commercial colleges for the same year was 122,650. Total number of teachers in both primary and secondary for the same was 96,711. In the 1996 school year. Imo State primary school enrolment was 561,214. Give or take lets put the prospective beneficiaries of the policy at a million plus teachers inclusive and bearing in mind that the policy is for childrien in primary and secondary schools, so what is the whole brouhahaha about. Imo state gets about 3billion naira from the fed and almost 600million naira IGR, what exactly will it cost to educate a million childrien if there is decent management and well planned budget for such. People should stick to facts abeg and stop whining about the man's gestures to show his commitment, none of you malavolent whiners live or have ever been to the state, yet you lots like to argue like you know the politics and policy history of the state like the back of your hands. Imo state is going to do what it needs to do get up, you all can go and drink cyanide for all we, Imolites care. |

I would rather people made objective statements here based on available facts and not speculative scenerio and emotional need to support a particular sex. I have read the accounts of both Mr & Mrs Wigwe plus that of their son, Nelson; it is important to keep in mind the kind of characters that both the man and the woman have portrayed, both of themselves and of eachother. It is very obvious that the woman is temperamental, petty, obsessive & extremely paranoid to a fault. As for the man, he is no saint, apparently he has got mistresses outside hence the wife's paranoia. However, the woman's excesses can't be excused on the basis of the man's infedility as she too did thesame and even had the guts to bring her lover into the family house against the childrien's wishes, it is obvious she is selfish and only cares about herself and nobody else, at least, her husban never had a live-in girlfriend while all the nonsense happened. I mean, how can a "married Igbo woman" be so insensitive to the feelings of her childrien & her entire family and bring in a live-in boyfriend to the family house all because the little devils on her shoulders tell her that her husband is probably cheating on her while he is away on assignment even though she is the reason they live apart, ALU! I ve seen my parents have very heated arguments and even throw accusations at eachother, that is something that happens in virtually every family, we as kids mostly stay out or sometimes shout everyone down when it becomes too loud. When they settle, which always happens, we mock them at times, my mum for instance, has a very strong personality, you can hardly intimidate her and my dad who is a very outspoken person sometimes find my mum overbearing and they clash with heated arguments but one thing they never did was get physical, at least not in our presense. I will never support either of them to hit each other. While in this woman's case she is more concerned with herself and what she can get from the man by criminal scheming, my mum always put us first and the family when making her arguments with my dad, she is not about what she wants to get from anyone. Even I as a teen back in them days seeing some of those arguments, I sometimes see reasons with my dad and some times my mum. For Nelson to be this bold to state painfully with honesty that his mum is not a nice person and a schemer shows how outraged the childrien are by their mum's character. It speaks volume, I'm surprised that even though they had lived with their mum for the most part of their lives, she still could not get her childriens support to corroborate her stories. Unless my mother is a very bad person I am not sure I can be courageous enough to do what Nelson did, Again, it speaks volume, the woman obviously was all about hersel. And let the male feminists here stop kidding themselves with all that politically correct statements of how they can never raise a finger on a woman no matter what, that claim is easier said than practised. Let me give you a brief account of an incident that happened to me in a public transport in lagos. Me & my lil niece were trying to get to the back seat of the bus in the process my niece unknowingly hit the woman's breasts. Little after we had settled down in our seats, the woman started causing in Yoruba language, my lil niece was not even aware the woman was actually cursing her as she did not understand the language. Me on the hand understood what she was saying & angrily ask to know why she was cursing by then she had turned directly to my lil niece & was about to get physical with the lil gal, thart was when it dawned on my niece that the woman all along was cursing her. Then the lil gal just as I was enquiring asked; what did I do to you" and this woman's response was a resounding slap across the girl's face plus very annoying invectives towards her parents. I got so angry that I warned her never to try such a thing again in her life, by then my niece was already crying and people in the bus were already reprimandind the woman's act, the woman turned to me, dared me(prolly because she was significantly older than me), I told her in clear terms that if she tried what she did again or even point fingers at me, I will do to her what she just did to my lil niece, she flared up and was all up in my face cursing and daring me, I shoved her back to her seat. She stood up & almost hit me, I dudged it & gave her a resounding slap. A serious fight ensued, she held my cousin's dress but this time the lil girl hit her with the water bottle she was holding. Almost everyone in the bus was in support of what had transpired, they separated us,me and my lil niece even had to change our seats as she still wanted to fight us. It took threat from others to calm the mad woman down. It is easy to come out and say shit about hitting a woman but me I ve always maintained that any woman that can be bold enough to slap me or even make such attempts on me will get a dose of it from me because I will assume she is guy like me too. |
RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS OF WIFE BATTERING AGAINST ME, DR CHIJIOKE WIGWE, BY MRS TESS IYI WIGWE AS PUBLISHED BY THE STAR NEWSPAPER ON 26TH MAY 2011 Background I married Tess Iyi Wigwe (nee Oniga) under native law and custom on 9th April 1978. The girl I married was famous for her temper and fighting ability. With my gentle and unassuming nature, I honestly believed that the sharp contrast in our characters could neutralize and complement each other. It was a grave error of judgment. I joined the Nigerian Foreign Service in April 1984 after teaching at the University of Jos for some years. My first posting in 1986 was to Tokyo, Japan. I was in charge of Commercial and Trade Matters. One night in July 1988, I took my female colleague from another Embassy out for dinner. It was actually the first outing. After dinner, I took her in my car in order to drop her off at a train station. As we drove through town, a car which I quickly recognised as mine (I owned 2 cars) and being driven by Mrs Wigwe pulled up beside us at a traffic light. Mrs Wigwe hurled air freshener bottles and any other objects she could find in the car to hit us. I later came down from the vehicle and explained to her who the lady was. But she did not believe me and instead chased me through the city shouting abuses at us and throwing objects at us. When I got to a train station, I opened the door and let the lady out. Mrs Wigwe abandoned her car in the middle of the road causing a big jam as she ran after the lady. She caught up with her and after interrogating her, seriously assaulted her, and beat her so mercilessly using the woman’s umbrella that the woman passed out. Mrs Wigwe fearing that the lady was dead fled the scene taking with her the woman’s hand bag. Good Samaritans took the lady to hospital where she spent one month in intensive care. I was made to pay the woman’s hospital bills. The morning after the attack, Mrs Wigwe traced me to the Embassy where I had taken shelter and took a huge stone and smashed the windscreen of the car to pieces. Mrs Wigwe never admitted to taking the handbag and its contents. However, months later, the wife of a colleague with whom she had left the handbag, confessed. This gross act of violence visited on an innocent woman, so angered the Nigerian Ambassador and the entire staff that it was decided that Mrs Wigwe should be punished severely to deter other wives with such inclinations. Accordingly, she was suspended from post for 3 months and repatriated to Nigeria by the Embassy in October 1988. She spent a total of 6 months at home coming back only in April 1989 when my posting came to an abrupt end following the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recall over 150 officers worldwide who had spent 24 months and above at post in the wake of the structural adjustment programme of the government of the day. That premature recall had a serious psychological impact on my very young family of 4 and I decided to take a one year study leave at own expense ostensibly to pursue a post-graduate diploma in journalism in London, but strategically, to insulate our children from the disruptive effects of the unpredictable posting policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I therefore took my family along with me at great cost. When I left England in February 1992, I left my family behind. In 1993 I was posted to Warsaw, Poland but my family remained in London for the sake of the children’s and Mrs Wigwe’s education. Having learnt a bitter lesson from Tokyo, I unilaterally decided that Mrs Wigwe must not live with me at post in Warsaw. Instead, I encouraged her quest for higher education since she had only secondary education when I married her. She graduated from Middlesex University in July 1998. I paid her fees through university from 1993 and law school. At the end of my posting in October 1998, I returned to Nigeria. The family, now well established and settled, remained in London. Between 1998 and 1999 I made regular visits to the family. In November 1999, Mrs Wigwe visited me in Abuja and we travelled to her home town. We had a very serious misunderstanding. We returned to Abuja and she travelled back to London. When she returned to London after two weeks, she informed me that she no longer wished for me to come to London as previously planned to spend the Christmas and New Year holidays. All my efforts to reach her by telephone, fax and mail were unsuccessful. The situation continued until 2002 when on transiting London en route New York for an official assignment in July 2002, I discovered that Mrs Wigwe had brought her male lover, a Nigerian of Yoruba tribe, to live with her and the children in the family house. The children told me how they had bitterly resented her and her lover. But she ignored the children and co-habited with her boyfriend in the family house for close to a year. To all intents and purposes, we were still husband and wife; we were not even officially separated! It was then I knew the reason why I had been barred from visiting the family since 1999. Consequently, and bruising from the humiliation she had bestowed on me and the children in particular, I hastily remarried in December 2002. I married my colleague in the service whom I had not actually known for more than six months. By mutual consent in December 2006, we decided to separate amicably and to remain friends which we are to date. As the marriage had no children it was quite easy for us to part. I remained a bachelor. Following my nomination as ambassador in September 2007, I called Mrs Wigwe on phone to offer her an olive branch and to ask her to join me, if she so wished, to associate with my new appointment. It was another grave error of judgment. Although I never intended that we should live together under the same roof again as husband and wife given our antecedents and the coldness of feelings that mutually existed between us after many years of separate lives. I was only prepared for her to have a sense of belonging and attachment to my new status considering also that we have 5 children together. I thought the honour was due to her. She accepted and travelled to see me in Abuja in April 2008. Our first encounter after many years, proved to me and I guess to her, that we could truly no longer call ourselves husband and wife. Nevertheless and much to my shock and deep apprehension, she decided to take a leave of absence for 3 years from her employer in London to join me in residence in Nairobi. She insisted that I should take over her monthly expenditures in London including an ongoing mortgage for the family house I had myself helped her to buy in 2004 after she was on the verge of losing it due to lack of funds to meet her housing loan requirements. I did this in spite of not being married to her. I did it for the sake of the children. I could not contest her decision to come and live with me in Nairobi thus I let her come. But, it was clear as crystal that our differences and her mistrust of me and our mutual dislike for each other’s company were insoluble but above all that our long evaporated love would never come back. Thus, we have been living in separate bedrooms connected by an inner door that is firmly and permanently locked from her side of the border. We decided to live with as minimal contact with each other as we could manage. Because she often refused to open her door, we developed the art of communication by notes pushed under the door. She liked it so much as it often allowed her to state her endless money requests without having to justify them. We hardly engage in conversations except when she needs money. Our irregular engagements in the act of conversation often end up in a quarrel. In public we manage to present a united front but those who are close to us know that we were only putting up appearances. We did fairly well and were just longing for the end of my tenure as ambassador so that we could resume forever our separate lives. That long hoped for time is nearly with us and hence the deep anxiety on the part of Mrs Wigwe who for 3 years has lived in reasonable comfort and financial security, with a Mercedes Benz car and a driver to complement her status. The end of my tenure would mean a return to financial stress and anxiety for her. Mrs Wigwe is in a desperate mood. I am reliably informed that most of the GBP 1,700 mortgage (about $2,800) that I have to cough out every month from my meagre Foreign Service allowance and remit to her account in London through my Barclays account in Nairobi, was allegedly misappropriated by someone she trusted in London and that to date the mortgage in London is in tatters and Mrs Wigwe has suffered a loss of GBP 10,000. Besides this loss, Mrs Wigwe claimed that she had lost $6,000 in cash from her bedroom in 2009 and most recently another $3,000. The houseboy then in 2009 was accused of stealing the money from Mrs Wigwe’s 24 hour locked bedroom. The servant pleaded his innocence and the money was never found and police abandoned the matter and we sacked the servant. The latest theft of $ 3,000 again from her heavily locked bedroom sometime this year remains a mystery. She did interrogate the new servant and even followed him to his house to interrogate his wife, but nothing came of it. Mrs Wigwe is in a desperate state financially. This is the motive for the onslaught against me in a desperate attempt to tarnish my image and reputation and to get monetary compensation that will restore her big loss and sustain her for a long time. That is why she has carefully chosen the words she used in the story that appeared in the Star where she was talking of spine and paralysis. Mrs Wigwe is an avid watcher of the television channel Crime Investigation. She hardly watches anything else. She had obviously practised and rehearsed her lines and actions for months in her premeditated assault on me on Wednesday 11th May 2011. Concerning her wish for spine injury that would lead to paralysis, I can only pray God to please graciously grant her wish so that she may truly know what it is to have spine injury. ALLEGATION OF WIFE BATTERING On Thursday 26th May 2011, the Star, a Nairobi based tabloid, published a story in its front page with photographs showing a badly bruised face of Mrs Tess Wigwe and an allegation that I, her husband, had inflicted those injuries on her face. It was alleged that I had beaten my wife because she had responded to a “note” from me requesting to be served food. It was alleged that I had so beaten her that she suffered injuries to her spine and she was in danger of being paralysed. Many other allegations dating back to many years then followed in her premeditated attempt to build a solid case against me, including the foolish allegation that I used to bring women to the Residence in 2008 and the blatantly false information that she left me in Nigeria in 1999 and went to England to study and live. RESPONSE In response to these allegations, I wish to state quite categorically that I did not beat my wife and that I did not ask for food either in writing or verbally. What happened that fateful Wednesday night was shocking to me and clearly fits into a pre-planned mould cast by the avid Crime TV watcher, I had returned home late at night after attending the launch of a new product, Go Places, by Kenya Commercial Bank which was held at the Hilton Hotel. As is my practice, I went straight to my room and began to take off my jacket. Mrs Wigwe matched into my room shouting on top of her voice (that is how she speaks to me) that if I knew I would not be eating at home, I should tell her so she does not have to prepare any meals for me. I was stunned as indeed I had been eating regularly every day when I come home from work. I took it for a joke but I saw she was going on and on and would not let me put in a word. Her loud voice attracted my daughter Ada who came over to my room. Upon sighting my daughter I told her to please convince her mother that I had been eating food I met in the fridge every day at least for the past two weeks. Mrs Wigwe was taking none of that and insisted and before I knew it she was abusing me and calling me names. I naturally got angry and told her that if she were indeed taking proper charge of her kitchen then she would have noticed that I do eat what has been prepared for me. She took offence with my comment and became agitated when I asked her when or what has prompted her sudden interest and care for my welfare. In her characteristic manner, Mrs Wigwe lunged at me to slap me. I tried defending myself and indeed my daughter came in the way and as we tussled and jostled around the door to her own bedroom where a massive wooden shoe rack was standing, Mrs Wigwe received a cut. Once she felt blood on her right side of face, Mrs Wigwe used her right hand to rub the blood and smeared her entire face with it. She ran into her bedroom and produced a camera and in the presence of my daughter and I, Mrs Wigwe photographed herself, taking two to three shots. She was shouting that she had got me, and that the whole world was going to see her bloodied face; that she was going to send the picture to Abuja. As my daughter and I tried to push her into her room to prevent her from coming to fight me, my daughter’s hand was caught in the bedroom door and she gasped in pain. Mrs Wigwe also grabbed her phone and called her friend Yvonne to come and take her as she had been injured and bleeding. My son Nelson, who also joined in the effort to restrain Mrs Wigwe, offered to wipe the blood but Mrs Wigwe refused. With camera in hand, Mrs Wigwe ran downstairs and outside the building and for the next one hour was hurling abuses at me and shouting obscenities about me and my family and friends. It took the combined efforts of the Security Guard, the Cook and my son Nelson Ikenna to hold her back and prevent her from re- entering the house which I had now safely locked. In frustration that she could not re-enter the house, Mrs Wigwe who claimed in her report to the Star that she had suffered spinal injury, managed to wrestle with three able men and finally broke loose to carry a flower pot to smash the big glass window of the room we use as gym. She carried the flower pot and threw it at the glass window, shattering it. Not long after, her friend Yvonne arrived and together with my daughter they drove off. No ambulance was needed to convey Mrs Wigwe to hospital. Mrs Wigwe did not first rush to the Police to report the incident and show her injuries to the police. Mrs Wigwe only reported to the police on 27th May! That speaks volumes. She went to the police after people had begun to doubt her story! The first wave of shock when the story first hit the headlines had begun to give way to sombre reflection and analysis. As the children and house staff began to contradict her story, she decided it was time to make a statement to the police. She began to focus on her dual citizenship and what the British government might do for her. Yvonne later sent me a text message saying Mrs Wigwe and daughter had been admitted at Aga Khan Hospital. I sent Mrs Wigwe a text in the morning advising her to get much needed rest. I also wanted to go and see her but she bluntly told me to keep off and to await a letter from her lawyer and to watch the news for what was going to happen to me. I had advised her to take the period to rest properly in hospital having noticed that since January she had lacked proper sleep following the devastating news of the alleged misappropriation of GBP 10,000 by her trusted friend and the“theft” of $3,000 in-house. Of course, she was not aware that my son Nelson to whom she had confided about the loss in London had intimated me I had sworn to secrecy before not to divulge the information. I continue to pretend ignorance of what has been ailing her and almost confining her to her bed for months. In addition, my son had also informed me that while I was away on consultation in Abuja, Mrs Wigwe had told him that somebody had hinted her that I might have purchased a house in Nairobi. She had said that she was investigating it and if found to be true, will engage the services of a lawyer to ensure that her name was appended to the property. She thus began calling my staff in the Embassy but got no positive response. She quizzed Nelson and found out he knew nothing of any such enterprise. She could be scheming to lay her hands on the property if it is indeed true. It is instructive that on the night when her spine was broken and she had severe waist pain, Mrs Wigwe remembered to mention the house issue among the tirade of words that were flying out of her mouth like a practised actor. Her greed would not allow her to note that she alone owns the house in London and in her village which was built entirely with my money while serving in Tokyo. Considering the odds staring her in the face as my tenure in Nairobi draws to a close, Mrs Wigwe is in dire need of a way out. My daughter Ada was discharged from hospital after several x-rays revealed no damages to her bruised hand. Mrs Wigwe remained in hospital until Saturday 14th morning when Yvonne sent me a text to say that she had been discharged and I needed to pay the bills. I was in church when the text came and I went straight to the hospital and paid the bill of ksh 27,800 (about $330) and even took her x-ray result. She had only taken the pain killer prescribed for her and had not taken the x-ray result. Her spinal injury was miraculously healed within 3 days. From hospital she went straight to Yvonne’s home and remained there. I travelled to Abuja on Wednesday 18th and came back on Wednesday 25th. When she heard news of my travel, she returned to the Residence as I was to learn later. As I had locked my bedroom from the front door, I was shocked to discover that my drawers had been ransacked and 1 (one) Rolex watch, 1(one) Accurate gold watch and 1(one) gold ring with precious stone had been stolen with their cases. Mrs Wigwe is the only one with a key to the connecting door to my room. She prevented me from keeping a spare. Only she has absolute access to my bedroom and she enters there at will including when am fast asleep. Why did she have to remove those items if not to sell them and make some extra cash from them? Secondly, when I entered the pantry next to my bedroom, I noticed that 1 (one) trunk box and over 10 (ten) empty suitcases belonging to me had disappeared and the room was desolate. The trunk box was full of my stuff but she had recklessly emptied them and forcefully repacked them into the other two boxes. I asked the houseboy who confirmed that Mrs Wigwe had packed all her personal belongings into the suitcases and locked them in the store downstairs. I went downstairs and noticed that she had removed her pictures from the various room walls. In spite of all these, I found Mrs Wigwe very much living in the house, locked up as usual in her bedroom! On the same day that I had returned to Nairobi having flown with the night flight from Lagos, I went to work and a little after 11 am I received a call from an unfamiliar number. It was a man from Radio Africa, publishers of the Star. He mumbled something about a letter with very bad photographs of a woman sent in by a woman lawyer in respect to my wife. I was shocked but I told him that I recall that Mrs Wigwe had sent me a text on 12th May saying that I would soon hear from her lawyer. She had also told me that she was going to send pictures around. I instantly denied inflicting any such injuries as he was describing and requested him to call me back so we could set up a meeting to discuss the letter since I who was supposed to be the accused received no such letter from any lawyer. He hung up. The following day, very early in the morning, I could hear movement from Mrs Wigwe’s room and I could hear that she had ran downstairs and back upstairs. As I went into the bathroom, a friend called me and advised me to check out the Star newspaper. I ran downstairs to pick up the newspapers of the day from the front door only to discover that Mrs Wigwe had earlier picked them and returned to her room. When I finally saw a copy of the paper in my office, I was aghast at the strange photos of Mrs Wigwe and her“battered face” and worse still to read of severe injuries to her “spine” which according to the report could leave her paralysed! I was also shocked that the story of how the argument started had been shamelessly and fraudulently altered. I was shocked to read that my two children took her to hospital. I was shocked to hear that I had beaten her up in 2008 because I had brought women to the Residence. And many other concoctions of our story over the years completed my day of mystery and entry into the world of absolute scandal and blackmail, with intent to extort money from me. CONCLUSION I affirm on my honour that I am not a wife beater. I affirm that in the many years that I have known and lived with Mrs Wigwe, she has always been the aggressor. That Mrs Wigwe is prone to using her fists first rather than engage in a debate or an argument to prove her case. If anyone is guilty of violence in my home, it is Mrs Wigwe. If anyone is a victim of domestic violence it is I. I have lost many spectacles over the years following Mrs Wigwe’s direct hit on my face. I sleep every night afraid that she may enter my room and stab or strangle me in my sleep. I am for this reason half awake all night. I do not take phone calls when I enter the Residence. Every call I take is suspected to be from a woman who must also be my girlfriend. So even for official calls from colleagues or from my host government or my own government, I have to go downstairs where she cannot hear that I am making a call. On some occasion when I would have fallen asleep and had forgotten to turn the television set off, she had stormed into my bedroom with lights blazing, to accuse me of making a call. On such occasions, I normally summon all the humility and composure in me to endure the unwarranted interruption of my sleep in order not to provoke an argument. Mrs Wigwe removes the photographs of people she does not like from the album of official events organised by the Embassy. She had also asked that DVDs be edited to remove the people she no longer considered as friends or people she said did not greet her in a respectful way or people whose affinity to me could not be sufficiently established. Most recently, she abused officials of the Association of Nigerian Women in Kenya (ANWIK) and prevented me from attending the Nigerian Family Fun Day on Easter Saturday 23rd April 2011, organized by the women because she was angry that ANWIK which is registered with the High Commission did not consult and get her approval before approaching the Embassy. The women had apologised and pleaded and even bribed her with a free special dress which she had accepted, but in vain they pleaded. On the day of the event we were not there and my colleague from Ghana had to stand in for me! On the level of public conduct, Mrs Wigwe has so intimidated and assaulted many people in Nairobi, men and women and staff of the High Commission alike that the High Commission no longer holds dinners, luncheons and other mandatory functions in the Residence. If in doubt, please ask around Nairobi. Mrs Wigwe has assaulted and abused so many people at public gatherings in Nairobi that people fear to greet me when we meet at public functions. Mrs Wigwe hardly supports me in my work. Although she struggles to have a copy my weekly programme and quarrels when my staffs forget to leave a copy for her, she often criticises me for attending too many functions. When people commend me for the work that I do she feels offended and often complains that I am the reason why people don’t notice her. I have tried in vain to encourage her to do more social work or to consider doing a post graduate course in any of the universities in Nairobi, as a way of keeping her occupied and fulfilled. But after three years living in Nairobi, she has not added any educational value to her degree. On relations with staff of the Mission, Mrs Wigwe is a constant irritant. She considers herself as the ambassador and I her weak deputy. She calls staff and directs them on what to do. She intimidates the local staff and threatens to sack them and when I refuse to do so, we quarrel. Mrs Wigwe is in dire need of psychiatric examination or what religious persons may call spiritual deliverance, but over the many years and on each occasion when I or those close to us have advised her to do so, she had always ended up insulting us. But this woman needs help. Every woman who shakes hands with Dr Wigwe is a threat to Mrs Wigwe. Even my female colleague ambassadors have not been spared. Mrs Wigwe’s ten finger nails are painted and coloured differently ranging from blue, red, brown, and gold to yellow. A different colour and pattern for each finger nail. Everybody sees something funny in that especially for a woman her age and status, but only Mrs Wigwe sees it as most fashionable and chic. Mrs Wigwe is desperate seeing that my posting is fast coming to an end. She badly needs money. She set me up and used me as a pawn by destroying me knowing that we were never going to be husband and wife again after Nairobi. Our coming together was only for the sake of sharing in the glamour and glory of high office. That was the motivating factor for her uncharacteristic concern for my welfare on that night of the 11th and that was why she refused to believe either I or her daughter and instead proceeded to generate an argument using provocative language. She had obviously concluded that Dr Wigwe must not be allowed to leave Nairobi with honours on his back. That was the plot and she found a willing accomplice who introduced her to a woman lawyer who is a friend to the Editor of the junk newspaper otherwise called the Star. That is how the Star has come to champion this fake and fraudulent story in an attempt to help the friend of a friend in her most difficult time of financial ruin and imminent suicide. My daughter, Adanne and son Nelson Ikenna, had stormed the Star newspaper offices to protest the falsehood the Editor so shamelessly carried in her paper. The Editor had confessed to my children that she and the lawyer were actually friends. Two quality newspapers in Kenya namely the Nation and the Standard had refused to carry the junk story. Nelson has further made a comprehensive statement to the Diplomatic Police, where he had met the Residence Security guard (name withheld) who had witnessed the actions of Mrs Wigwe on the night of the event and had struggled in vain with the Cook and my son Nelson to restrain Mrs Wigwe, with a “seriously damaged back and spine.” Mrs Wigwe had coached, coaxed and incited him to misinform the police about what happened in order to make her story credible but fortunately for Truth and Justice and fortunately for the millions of men like me all over the world who are silently suffering and living under the Tyranny of a Woman, who are Living in Bondage, who are emotionally and physically abused and assaulted on a daily basis by their wives, who are forbidden to bring their relatives to the house, who are forbidden to bring visitors to the home, who are impoverished by gluttonous and greedy wives, the Christian and God fearing Guard refused to be intimidated. May the Truth prevail. Violence against Men is real and must be stopped. The stereotyping of men as being responsible for domestic violence has gone too far and has damaged permanently the reputation of so many good men. Many men have lost their lives or have been forced to commit suicide because of over domineering and manipulative women. The female predators move on with glee to their next victim. Mrs Wigwe has proven beyond doubt my long held beliefs that“Truth is a lie repeated three times,” and another which says that “He lies often who cries often.” CWW Dr Chijioke Wilcox Wigwe Dated this 30th day of May 2011 at Nairobi, Republic of Kenya |
Some people just like to seeth with subtle tribalism and malevolence sha, The OP was only giving his version of what he heard the governor say, there is no official report on that. If you know Rochas very well you will understand that he is a people oriented person, he is very savvy with words and passionate with his new job. He understands very well the people's commitment to his emergence as the governor, Imo state people remain the most expectant people since the end of the elections, he knows there is no room for excuses. Already, there is deadlock at the state assembly over attempts to thwart plans to overturn those die-minute spiteful decisions made by Ohakim to cause problems for the new government. Unlike many states, Imolites are very educated and understand clearly what is it they expect from Rochas, they are realistic with their expectations and do not expect him to do the impossible. One of the things Rochas has going for him is his seriousness to want to do somthing and his understanding of the problems of Imo state. Nobody is expecting him to embark on say, Eko atlantic kind of project for now until the pressing problems of Imolites are first attended to. He is realistic and very media savvy too(which is a plus anyway) plus he is not a joker like some people want to make us believe by all means. I am from Imo state and at present, in Owerri, I can tell you there is an overwhelming sense of duty and expected performance in the air, everyone has their ears to the radio, newspapers and TV. This is not a story of mere talks and 3D drawing, this guy is busy as hell meeting Imo state stakeholders and making plans to start putting things on ground. Already, there is delegation(my Uncle inclusive- a retired MD with FIRS by the way) with a proposal on how to increase the state's IGR. A poster made reference to security votes, well that already has been pledged to the the free education program. Enough said, people should afford the man the benefits of the doubt, wait and see his actions before rushing to condemn. If Fashola can enjoy thesame praise and worship for both work done and about to be done, I see no reason why Rochas should not get his dues. |
fnep2smooth:who is this Mo'ron running wild because his brother got a phoney job from Ohakim. On the other hand, my younger brother bought into that Ohakim 10,000 jobs and as I write, he is yet to get any job, so what the hell are you talking about with your misspellings and incoherent gibberish. Why employ labour with no plans to make them productive, just pay people every month for being in the ministry even though their labour is not productive. Is that not a dumb populist policy that will only fatten the already over stretched budget of the state. Even Rochas said it that most of the productive sector of the Imo state economy that would have gainfully employed people in a productive capacity and ensure the payment of their salaries are moribund and a lot of them are subjects of litigations, take for instance AdaPalm, Concord Hotel and so on, they are all struggling with one problem or the other. Pushing people into the state civil service is an unproductive policy that will fatten the state's expenditure, monies that would have served better building facilities that should attract investment. Before you open your filthy mouth and spew hokum make sure you understand what is it you are on about. How old did you say you were again? You swell with so much ignorance, go and read a book, get laid or sth, politics is not your thing. |
To doubters, It is very possible to give free education in Imo state, at least to secondary school level. During his campaign when he was challenged by his opponents to tell them where he would get the money to run a free education program, he told them he was going to use the state's security votes-which hitherto has always been squandered-to fund it. And who says imo state only needs to affordable schools? Free education as well will infact, yield better results than a subsidy which some may nor neccessarily see the effect. |
People should understand the politics of the free education programme before rushing to call it "sensationalism" or impossible. Let me give us a brief history of the politics of Imo state, when Rochas was campaigning for the position of the governor of Imo State, most part of his campaign hovered around free education, that was the backbone of his campaign. Ohakim who had earlier argued in a debate that it was impossible to give free education to Imo people, suddenly decided to anounce a free education program at all levels and even extended it to imo indegenes that are not resident is in the state just to pit Rochas against the people. Rochas never claimed that he was going to give an absolutely free education at all levels-of course he knows that is impossible with the meager allocation and IGR from the state. However, he still re-iterated his commitment to giving free education to Imolites and even said his government was going to send a bill to the state house of assembly to make it a punishable offence not to send a child to school. The man is serious and should be given a chance, already there is a crisis in the state house as opposition members are set to upturn the very spiteful policies taken by the out-gone regime of Ohakim 2wks to his removal from power. Already the state house has been shut and the speaker under a lot of pressure to quit. I believe this government is going to be active and like I said before, I like Rochas' maturity in handling the calls for ohakim to be probed. He dos not have to show that Probing Ohakim is going to be his aim, let him do it fine but we are more interested in what he is going to do next to move us to the next level not make Ohakim another aimless obsession. |
Unlike Ohakim that likes to run his mouth without caution, Rochas has that political savvy of Obama, the heart of Fashola and the trust of Imo people. Free education is a realizeable policy as long as it is well plamned and budgeted for. Imo state is known for its educational stance and education has always been very dear to the hearts of Imolites. And I like the way he is not wasting time talking about Ohakim or how he is going to probe him(even though we know he is surely going to do it, giving the recent avalench of policies taken by ohakim to pit Rochas against the people of Imo state. But we understand his antics. I will also advice that Rochas sgould not neccessarily fall for unworkable populist policies that will creat more problems. We ve heard how some state govt have given unproductive jobs to 20,000 youth or even the defunct ohakim invisible 10,000 jobs; job creation should be left in the hands of the private sector, what government needs to do is to provide conducive environment for inestors to come in by building a better roadnetwork, bridges, expanding Imo state roads and massively supporting agriculture. It is folly paying people money for unproductive work done like is seen in some states, funds are limited and there should priority. |
My Joe The fact still remains that there is'nt any shred of evidence to support the born gay myth. There are billions of public dollars and tremendous political power resting on the public mis-conception regarding the origins of sexual deviancy, and therein lies the reason for this departure from reason. Gone are the days of ethics in science, nowadays most public policies and opinions based on "science" are merely junk science fashioned to serve political purposes. The fact that homosexuality has become so prevalent in certain societies like in the west-where there are legislations and powerful lobby groups to protect the act compared to other societies like in Nigeria where it is seriously frowned at and there are no laws or powerful lobby groups to support it indicates that widespread homosexual practices has a behavioral and societal component. If we allow homosexual behavior to be accepted as merely one more alternative and accepted lifestyle, we are running the risk of having our own societies degenerate into a sexual equivalent of the west. Not very savory models to emulate. If homosexuality is not a matter of indulgent preference then how does one explain other sexual deviances such as paedophilia or bestiality? Obviously, there is a strong possibility of either an abnormal psychosocial development or a delayed one like many researchers on this subject have hypothesized. And I think in a lot of cases that these deviancies are indulged with full consent of the will and see nothing wrong with the behavior. I have read extensively especially on the works of Laura .S. Allen & D.F Swaab on the anatomical structure of the brains of both homosexuals & heterosexual males as it relates to their sexual behaviour. Swaab concentrated on the hypothalamus region called the suprachiasmatic nucleus(SCN). In the homosexual brains he examined, a small portion of the hypothalamus, termed the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) was found to be twice the size of its heterosexual counterpart. And in a separate research Laura Allen found that the anterior commissure (AC) of the hypothalamus was also significantly larger in the homosexual subjects than that of the heterosexuals. This differentials in their brain anatomy they hypothesize may be responsible for their differing sexual orientation. However, the problem with their results is that both the SCN & AC are not involved in the regulation of sexual behaviour, this makes the size differentials results highly unlikely. The most discussed research by Simon Levay for instance got me confused a lot of the time, especially with the complexities of his samples which included gay men that died of AIDs. He did not explore the probable effect of the disease & antivirils on their brains. He did not say anything about the sexual orientation of his supposedly heterosexual males and some gay men brain segments were more "male" than some of the heterosexual men's. The whole research to me, seem more like a confusing mix of a pre-defined motive to make excuse for such preference by making it a prenatal sexual differentition of the brain, yet that remains to be seen by his results. One thing is obvious though, there seem to be a deliberate attempt not to find solution to the problem of homosexuality especially in the west where it is heavily supported by regulations and presented not as a mental disorder but as a congenital disease that should be tolerated. I have read somewhere about some kind of aversion techniques and its moderate success in turning homosexuals to heterosexuals, why not improve on such researchs unstead indulging homosexualism and making cases for them like they, homosexuals are not interested to be cured they would rather be queer than make any attempt to change. And finally, another possibility is if sexual preference can actually condition the brain to adapt to a certain a sexual behaviour due to constant expsoure to same-sex and its related activities. These are possibilties theat have deliberately been ignored by gay right activist in their quest to gain more recognition. |
@My Joe Most part of this resrarch are based on hypothesis and conjectures not any real fact. Mostly, the research was only based on the assumption that homosexuality is an entirely congenital disease as opposed to whether it can be aquired without any congenital connections. I find most part of the research especially this parts: ( Men with the active and women with the passive form of acquired homosexuality. Such men look masculine and possess male-type sexuality. Correspondingly, the women possess feminine features and female type of sexual behavior. "Their pathological attraction to the opposite $ex forms also on the basis of conditioned reflex, usually at the juvenile age." Exactly what scientific proof do they have that their homosexual attraction possibly emanated at juvenile age and was on the basis of conditioned reflex and not triggered off by say, the environment or exposure to non-pathological factors that could have triggered off the attractions. When they say conditioned reflex, they did not tell us if the factors that conditioned their reflexes are pathologically acquired or prolly a genetic disorder that only began to show its effects at juvenile age. All these are just conjectural and hypothetic explainations, they leave many questions unanswered. My point is while yes, it can be argued that some men have characteristics regarded as typical of a woman(effeminate males) and the women vice vesa(tom boys), that still does not form the basis to argue that every effeminate male or tomboy female is most likely going to be gay at some point in their lives. That appears to be the argument of this research, they have unwittingly and conveniently avoid telling us wether it can be aquired by mere curiosity and conditioning of the mind as opposed to the fancy "conditioned reflex" they are telling us. After all, there are cases of people who had hitherto thought they were gay, only to try it and switch back to being heterosexual since they just did not see the point of their sexuality ambivalence. I still stand on my argument, there is no such thing as homosexual genes, may be a dis-order, fine! But the former? That will remain anybody's guess. |
monkeyleg:Mehn I can't believe that Nwa Afor like you will make such a careless declaration that an Igbo young man taking a fellow male as his second half to meet with his parents in the east is not worthy of discussion. Nwanna, ima kwa ihie wu alu-that such a man could be bold and brazen to bring his gay lover to see his family in the village-whatever happened to your sense of decency and customary accepted values. Do you know the kind of violence that brainless act could spark. If homosexuality was inconsequential as you would like us to believe how come recently, was it in kenya or so, there was a wildly publicized media attention on a gay couple who tried to do thesame rubbish by marrying each other in the African country. They almost got killed and I think they almost got jail terms for such. Are you saying there government and people should not have taken decisive steps to nip such rubbish in the bud, may be they should have waited until they solve all their so called "pressing issues" before dealing with that sociatal malignancy. Do you know increasingly hedious homosexuality is? I can't even count how many times my elder sister was disturbed by this bunch in different occassions. No need acting like it is not a problem my brother cos it is. This efulefus are getting brazen by the day and it is only logical to condemn botj them and their acts cos they are inseparable. |
Come'on ekt_bear, what fact do I need from a straight person I have always known who recently turned gay. I dont know how the social systems in the west works but I can say without any fear of equivocation that a majority of the people down here in the act were not born that way, nature never made them like that. Have you been to our boarding and secondary schools? Do you know how much of such habit a new entrant there can pick up? Not to talk of our Universities where we have some very popular gay groups with enviable access to , who make such habit look very attractive and fashionable to wanna-be(s). Well, I may not have written evidence to show that homosexuality has almost nothing or very little to do with genetic make up but more to do with the product of ones environment and value system; however, I have personal experiences and stories from the horses mouth to prove my case. And pls, i would realy love it for you to show that there are scientifically proven cases of homosexuality in human genetic make-up. |
Man I highly doubt that. Think about it for you. You as a kid, were your sexual attractions defined by your parents? Or by the female friends you had in primary/secondary school and saw on TV. . . or some sexy teacher you had in secondary school? For me it was the latter. My peers at school and the tv I watched has influenced the type of girls I like a lot more than pretty much anything else. My suspicion is that for most people their sexual orientation is something they are born with. And if influenced by those around them, peers are likely to have a bigger influence than parents.
Let us get this straight, a majority of the people indulging in homosexuality are into it by virtue of nurture and not neccessarily nature. Most of the ones I personally know, most of them women, did not start out as homosexuals. Many of them have thesame line of story, the lure of peer pressure and sheer curiosity occassioned by what they have seen in movies and porn movies. With the proliferation of porn in our media and increased access to forein TV programms-it was only a matter of time before we start seeing the effects of these things. It is folly to even try to argue that homosexuality has continued to grow because "all of a sudden we are begining to realize some people are born with homosexual genes"(there is no emperical scientific proof to that, just some random western sociologists explaining stuff away ) come on, being liberal with the scourge of homosexuality is the west of saying you cant be them you join them. Thesame nonsense must not be allowed here. |

It isn't as if being raised by those two gay dudes will change you from a heterosexual into a homosexual. Which one would likelier lead to a better life for you, as a poor orphan boy/girl?
hmmmm. . If dem give you chance eh. .hehehe Anyway, either way such a kid will be fcked up no doubt. Whats up with all the vitriols against GEJ like people wish him to fail. Come on guys these are just speculative reports. Why will GEJ put pre-requisites such as not having any controversy or electability and having integrity only to want to cut corners in Bankole's case. Was he more influential to GEJ's re-election than say; the governors-whom reports have it that they dominate the ignoble list and for that GEJ is flirting with the idea of dumping the list. So, I think it will do us good to wait and see than speculate and unwittingly wish GEJ fails to prove a stoooopid point. Issues have gone beyond such parochial leanings, everybody should lend a support than pull him with destructive criticisms that only boost personal egos. Even I that voted and supported GEJ, I'm not too happy with his posturing with many issues lately, especially his reluctance and seemingly lack of serious political will to take decive steps but I still understand I have to give him the benefit of my doubts. No need wishing him to fail and propagating fears in people's mind, we all can't afford to see him fail. |
@FirmKY Dude you are doing exactly what the Igbo leaders did in supporting GEJ, lending support on the basis of sentiment and not on real pragmatic political agreement that will further our cause. Enough of that pandering and pampering, obviously, GEJ is only interested in those regions and people he considers as powerful threat than in showing any iota of independence of mind and ensuring equality. Your claim of him needing OBJ and hence his reluctance to show displeasure at his belligerance is laughable, what exactly does he need OBJ for? The entire southwest is not even in the hands of PDP, if the man was so powerful, how come he could not even win one state for the PDP in his region. OBJ is as powerless as a cockroach, it is the Nigerian media that makes him feel so powerful and myterious, they credit him with some fictitiuos political genius like he has shown any laudable political finesse in handling issues besides dumb, brash use of force and resort to corrupt, high-handed means. Tinubu will trample on him any day in a power struggle in the SW region, that old general is overrated, his style of politics is so stale in the Nigeria of today, no wonder even his own people oppose him vehemently. I dont mean to insult you, but your analysis on issue is at best childish and passive too. We jeopardise our chances of emerging as V.P in readiness for the bigger picture in 2015, JEG needs to understand that a bird at hand is worth two in the bush, he seems to want to conquer the unforeseen even if it means sacrificing his allies. May be he, GEJ will take us seriously, when we leave sentiments aside and root for our gains like others are doing with him, may be only then will he learn to make his decisions based on priorities. He seems to be moved by threat rather than common sense. Since he belives satisfying OBJ's ego is more important than being fair and realistic to understand that performance is also paramount to choosing who should get what especially as it concerns the party. How exactly can anyone rationalize that a region the party has no control over is going to get such an exalted position as against another region that gave total support to the party. And bros pls stop talking like our politicians are the only ones complaining you make it sound like they dont have rights to voice out their displeasure in the open, all that talk about SE chieftain washing dirty clothes outside shows you do not understand the intrigues of the report, you make it sound like they went to press to issue threat. Abeg learn to argue without those needless stereotyping of a sect, everyone is lobbying, the Igbos are no different stop sounding defeatist like we should be begging where others are demanding, that sounds lame biko. It is you who is reading meaning into what Igbo leaders are saying which is not different from their counterpart, every goddam section of the country is making a hell of noise, stop taking special interest in what igbo leaders say. Guy you need to be more realistic with your expectations, we have gone past the era for begging for little things, now it is a demand. Learn to talk that way, we are not the only ones demanding. Power has never been a business of begging, you demand it and work for it. At this point, Igbos need to be more concerned with themselves than with what is going to happen to GEJ if we leave him, he already is taking care of himself sacrificing allies and trying to appease everybody to the dentriment of his allies. My dad always says this; i will only help a friend that wants my help as friend but I wont say let us exchange situations just to ease my friend's burden. For what na ![]() |
Dbanj and label mate Wande Coal are presently at loggerheads over whose album should drop first. According to our sources, trouble started with the ground breaking, commercial success that trailed Wande’s debut album, Mushin to Mo’Hits, released in 2009.The album propelled the Mushin, Lagos-bred young man from just being a backup singer for the crew to a substantive music star but with scant opportunities. The success of Wande’s debut was so huge that D’banj’s album, The Entertainer, which was released months before Wande’s, reportedly suffered a slump in sales. But things fall apart, when the demand for Wande at shows and concerts dropped considerably while his statutory proceeds from the little that came were either withheld or handed out to him as piecemeal. To underscore that he was no longer the beautiful bride, a source alleges, the standby generator in the Maryland house was moved to Lekki. In fact, he did not benefit from the presidential windfall that came the way of D’banj and Don jazzy unlike what would have been the case if things were right, “the source adds. Wande’s friend who spoke on condition of anonymity say though he knows he is being stifled and deliberately denied of cash, he is not particularly bothered because he still gets enough to keep body and soul together. What they say is Wande’s major grouse now is the seeming refusal of his label bosses Don jazzy and Dbanj to push any singles out or help him work towards the release of another album. It was further revealed that Wande has been neglected for the past one year or there about and that there is no effort whatsoever to help him release another album much less a single. Wande who believes competition in the industry is getting stiffer, and he needs to drop some singles to stay relevant, is allege to have plan for life after Mo Hits as he has reportedly incorporated his own record label (Black Diamond) |
I'm so disappointed at GEJ. This man will never shed himself off the strangle hold of OBJ, IBB, Atiku & co. He is so ready to sacrifice Igbo interest to save face with regions that dont even give a damn about him. I'm almost begining to regret my support for this man. He fails to remember that Ndigbo gave him enough confidence not just in words but in action. Besides, the SS which is his region, no other region gave him the kind of support we gave him. We even spite our own ambitions to ensure he emerged as President. His Party PDP got a wholesome support in votes from the SE region yet he did not see any need to argue for our case given his position when his party leadership surreptitiuosly schemed us out of relevance in their appointments to the extent of giving speakership to a zone that is in the hands of opposition. What a disrespect! Not even one person from the SS region has openly said anything about this injustice to people that considered them brothers even after they(SSoutherners) betrayed us in the past. Now there are reports that it is even the Northerners that are pushing for the SE to get the speakership position. GEJ and his SS brothers ve got to be the most stupid and clueless politicians in Nigeria if they fail to read the handwritings on the walls of our political scenes, is it not obvious there is a scheme here? The present chairman of the PDP is from the North, he and other northern PDP strongmen in the NWC understand the impact of SE support to Jonathan or any serious bonding between the SE and SS; what did they do? First, they capitalized on the love-hate relationship or rivalry between SE and SW plus OBJ's greedy desire to have the SW retain the position-to forestall the SW from joining in the burgeoning southern relationship-they agreed to give it to the SW to keep us at loggerhead with the SWest while we question the basis of our support for GEJ and the new found relationship with the SS people. While all these play out, they on their own part will be the ones to come to our rescue against the supposed enemy, SW. And possibly we will begin to hate the SS for not reciprocating our support. All these are playing out because GEJ and SS politicians lack the courage and political savvy to read the handwritings on the wall, they dont even understand who their friends are. GEJ is a serious lame duck with no serious personal resolve to do anything. I like the way the Yorubas are busy looking out for their own. They understand tribal politics than we, ndigbo. I guess Ndigbo will ve to be forced to sever their relationship with the SS, they obviously are not worth the sacrifice. "My mamma say pikin wey call her mamma, she go call am pikin". We dont ve to have to leave the party just yet, let us wait and see at least, until after d swearing in. But let it be known, Ndigbo leaders must never make any concessions again on the strength of brotherhood but on the basis of strategic benefits and importance. |
