Hello everybody, I just landed in Canada, the SP journey has been a hectic one, but grateful to have gotten here.

Landing gist,
Arrived MMA by 9 for my 1:45pm flight with Ethiopian airlines, the airport was basically empty, so I tipped the baggage security people 1k cos they already hailing me boss and said I can’t give them 5H, then I continued to agriculture declaration venue, I didn’t declare any agricultural products (though I had a bag full of food items) I just told them it’s clothes and books and since it was in a box, they let me go. Went ahead to check in, my bags weighed 20kg and 22kg, at check in; I showed Arrivecan, Covid test, admission letter/enrollment letter and Passport.
I got my boarding passes and proceeded to customs and immigration, I didn’t tip anybody, the airport was empty and nobody had my time, so it was quick. In 5mins I was done with immigration and my passport was stamped. Proceeded to board and we left for Addis Ababa, arrived at Addis Ababa, proceeded to my Gate and boarded my flight to Toronto. The flight stopped in Dublin for refuel and then proceeded to Toronto. Got to Toronto, didn’t declare anything at Customs, showed them I’m fully vaccinated and I was given the green sticker which meant I was exempted from quarantine and proceeded to immigration.

At immigration, my village people wanted to try nonsense because my passport and visa information was not coming up on the Immigration officer’s system, he kept scanning and typing. Finally it came on and we were both relieved. He asked about my school, fees and acceptance letter and proceeded to print out my study permit. By the time I finished at immigration, I had missed my flight to British Columbia which is my final destination. Went to the Air Canada counter and told them that I missed my flight because of the immigration officers and the woman rescheduled the flight for me without any extra fees (apparently I think if immigration makes you miss your flight, the airlines are not supposed to charge you, that’s what the immigration officer told me when I was trying to tell her I’ll miss my flight).

When my flight was rescheduled to 8pm…and I had 12hours in Toronto, I called a friend who came and took me to downtown Toronto and other places, ate a lot of food and walked a whole a lot. Came back to the airport and boarded my flight to BC (Toronto to BC is like Lagos to London)

Just arrived BC, and I’m waiting for a cab to go to my apartment.

Also which is better for a Masters in Social Work
And also between colleges and Universities in UK, which is better?

I know UK consider of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England

I just need cheap Schools please, I no fit stay this 9ja again

There are several clubs and rooms in clubhouse app you can learn a lot and even pitch your ideas if you think you have a sound idea.

To pitch your idea as a Nigerian to investors abroad is nearly impossible. Those who have been lucky so far are very very few and they go through rigorous process. Most times some countries are flagged and priorities are given to western countries.

In club house app, you get to speak to these investors and even connect with them freely.

Just make sure your idea is very sound, because a lot of people will be listening. Don't go and embarrass yourself.

Also, there are other room and clubs that I have found very interesting.

There is a club that focus on careers in tech and Remote opportunities for unpopular Tech Jobs that companies are looking for and willing to pay more.


This club talks about all the tech jobs that most people have refused to look into. Because everyone is talking about javascript or data analytics everybody's attention is on it. But what everyone fails to realise is, there are other roles too that even pay more than these popular ones and the reason they pay higher is cos there are very few people qualified for it.

So while you are looking at switching careers, know that regardless of your educational background, anyone can break into tech and get a very decent pay if they have the right information and mentor.

I currently work remotely as a Salesforce administrator. Got this job on indeed.com right after I received my training from a tech mentor whom I connect with at the NGO I was formerly working. She also runs the club (link already shared) on clubhouse.

One thing I can say is there is a huge difference between watching tutorial videos on YouTube or website and having a mentor guide you through a path.

Yes you can still apply. That’s why it’s called a Graduate Trainee. It’s not an experienced hire role. You do not need to study banking and finance to be a banker. I have a colleague who studied industrial chemistry. The other did plant abi soil science I can’t readily recall.

They don’t use background to pick. Pass the exam and finish off the interview then you’re good to go. I don’t think banks offer internships for graduate hires o. I may be wrong though.

If you scale the exams and interview, you’ll be sent to training school for a couple of months. I did 3 months in training school. Here you’ll be well grounded in the workings of the bank.

After training school, you’ll be rotated in 3/4 different department of the Bank within 3/4 months per department.

You could do 3 months in sales (you’ll be sent to a branch), do another 3 months in compliance, another in corporate communications or IT. Basically any department.

At the end of your rotation, you’ll eventually be settled in any one of the positions you performed best.

I remember during my interview, there was a covenant university graduate who did banking and finance. She didn’t make it. My point is that for a GT role, you don’t need to have a background in finance. All that’s needed is a university.

Please house I want to make inquiry on behalf of my sister. She is a registered health social worker in Nigeria and working with one of the teaching hospitals in the country. She has sociology Bsc and master in medical social (MSW). Now she is planning to relocated to UK under the UK health and care visa. The problem is that if her Nigeria degrees is enough to get her job with sponsor in the UK and how best way to go about it.... Please anybody with any easy ideas to help out

I decided to start my driving licence Journey.
Been driving since I was 16.
It's needed as I've gotten jobs that would make a difference in career in few years but was denied when I didn't have a driving licence.
I'm going to be starting with the theory test, I've been ridiculously lucky, for the first time, they've included an online test. I would sit in the comfort of my home and do it. Same way I wrote my master's exam. Super Duper Happy. Been following it for a while and they recently launched it. I had a feeling it was coming.

There's some adjustments that the pandemic brought I love, I like to walk around without people struggling with me with some almost brushing you. I like to sit in public space without strangers sitting next to me, Unless in the case of loved ones and friends.
I love the online queues, gosh, I hate Nigerian queues, thats the queue you'll stand on and remain in one place. Then people start to enter from the front. I don't care the urgency of what I need, I'll just walk away.

The pandemic brought an opportunity to order and make appointment online, totally love it. E.g the gnib is the card to make register your stay in Ireland, getting the appointment to go there is intense. It's almost similar to the story of the lame man at the Pool, when the Angels disturb the water, before he will creep in, someone quicker will Jump in. Thats how crazy it was, people had to pay to get appointment, by third parties, using bots extension and so. When you eventually get there, you'll waste at least 3hours. Now I can renew my stamp on my bed, Can somebody shout Hallelujah!!!!
I like to the option to Work at Home.

I recently got a customer care job since I was getting too much free time from the home care, I would get four days off sometimes, due to the pandemic, the company launched the off-site thing which is super convenient, I only have to sit at home and pick calls, I won't waste money on tfare, which would be at least €150 monthly, save time on transportation, cook and eat what I like, avoid uncomfortable coworkers and office politics. From the 8hours I work, I get one hour break divided into a 30min lunch break, and two 15 min break one before the lunch break and the last after the lunch break. We also get 15min personal time. The company didn't say much about it, was only informed by the flat mate that works there.


Good news here, Health care assistant for Nursing home is now eligible for Employment permit!!!!


There's contemplation on including Home care.
