Have they started receiving application for job seeker viaa? {quote author=Olayinkaoj post=128276368]Be warned, the jobs available are hotel and restaurant waiters (in summer) , labourers in construction site (all-round the year), farm/garden/fruit pickup (seasonal), but gardening can be all-year round.
Wages are low, €5.20 to €6 per hour in that category. You can make up to €860-€900/month if you work for about 20 days in a month. If you have extra days to work, and you are a labourer in construction, you can earn up to €1,100 or €1,200/month, mostly in summer when you have longer day, and if you work 9 hours/day.
Portugal is not an industrialized country or a warehouse/logistic hub like Germany, and so, don't expect much. Their own children also go to central Europe in search of greener pasture.
Accommodation is scarce but available in location where there's no job. In places where you can find jobs, it's always difficult to find accommodation and it's between €250-€350/room. And this is why Indians, Pakistanis, Bangla, Afghans can be up to 4 people in a room and pay €150/bedspace.
But the good news is, in 5 years, you will obtain your permanent residence card, which would allow you to stay and work in any part of EU, and if your proficiency is high in Portuguese, you can apply for a Portuguese passport immediately after your Permanent Resident card. Your passport is visa-free to Canada, America, UK and almost everywhere. Weigh the options and know that you are not coming to a place where life is that easy.
|

I am AA. I tested multiple times. The last one was during my HND programme admission. When I got to the States, I fell sick, at the hospital they were telling me me I was a sickle cell carrier. I disputed it, along the line, my health improved and their basis for saying so was shaken but not cleared. I left the hospital and the state. My current doctor still insists that there is a trace of sickle cell in my genes after many blood works, I guess about three. Actually the OP should not have suggested japa gang not to come. At the same time, I am just here for only 14 months, and have lived in 3 states. I can say, many well to do Americans and foreign Americans are leaving. - The rate of child trafickking and trafficking generally is alarming. But you know Naija is a training ground for anywhere.
But right now, I am disappointed, this is not the yankee i dreamed of, for good 25 years. Though if you offer me millions, I won't come back to naija, and if I get my citizenship and you offer me the same millions, i will collect and relocate to somewhere else starting from Canada perhaps. |

I wouldn't bother with Madagascar or Mauritius because they're infested with Indians. Cape Verde, Ghana, and South Africa have strong Nigerian hostility, so I'd skip those too. |

Your cousin will do his own DNA and send to the consulate from America obviously quoting the case number. Then his mum will do her own dna at approved clinic here too, the clinic will forward to the consulate. After, you will receive a confirmation letter from the consulate that they have received the results and scheduling her for another interview. I just finished reading that old letter. If possible I can post it.
uote author=Nonexisting1 post=107038106]Okay so it will take the embassy 2-3 months to write her to come for her own sample collection here in Nigeria. After that, what else will she expect? Will she be scheduled for another visa interview since the other one was denied because she didn't do the DNA or will she be asked to drop her passport on the day of DNA sample collection? Please if you can tell me the steps and estimation of how long it took your mother to get the visa from the day you received the letter, I will appreciate it. I'm only conversant with European countries, USA visa process is alien to me. This poor old woman can't help herself and the person I'm leaving her for is almost an illiterate. My cousin will be helpless as soon as I leave this country and I can't stay back because of this. I owe him a lot which is why I'm trying to get things in shape for my other cousin that will take over.
My mother did DNA with my brother. St. Nicholas sent her copy to the consulate (2008/2009). Then it took about 2-3months before the DNA from USA arrived. We just received letter from the Consulate to that effect. That is my only explanation. Nonexisting1: My cousin's mother's interview was denied and they were asked to do DNA testing. He told me he has done his own there in Houston Texas but his mother is yet to be called for her own sample collecting in Lagos embassy. What will be their next step and how long are they looking at for the whole process? I have been taking the poor woman to and fro Lagos for the process but now, I am about to travel out myself so I'm trying to help as much more as I can until I leave. It worth to be paranoid about. It might bore down to that point. It's called misrepresentation in immigration term. There is nothing you can do than to be honest which means you attests to committing misrepresentation, and if you want to take other route, you will just be digging the hole deeper. Good luck. Jasmine90216: Hi all. Great submissions all through, learnt alot. Glad I found this forum. Like many others, I'm also on this journey that has become such a long tumultuous process of waiting, hoping and praying. My pd is June 2015, DQ May 2021, awaiting interview letter. Having read through almost all pages on this forum, I have a question or should I say a small worry concerning my case or perhaps I'm just being paranoid. My category is F1, but about 3 -4 years ago , I applied for non immigrant visiting visa which was denied but in that application, I filled married, cause I was engaged then and thought I was going to get married, which didn't happen, which makes me single up till today. Now my question to the experts in the house is, now that I'm awaiting my interview letter for my immigrant visa, if that comes through hopefully soon, will I be asked about the change of my marital status at the embassy because of what I filled in my visiting visa application form years ago, or will they just go by what's filled in my ds260 which indicates single? This is my question. Looking forward to your replies. Thank you in advance! |

It is definitely a glitch of system, however you can check with them by calling the London embassy Qeremin: Hi guys,
Looking for some advice.
My US Citizen dad filed for me, my brother and my sister in 2013 so our priority date is November 2013. He should have filed since he was a resident, but that one is a long story for another day.
Last year we got the invitation to start processing before the Trump Ban. I have been based in the UK since the filing, my sister in Nigeria and my brother moved to Germany 2 years later. We didn't know about this marriage causing a change of category from F1 to F3, so my sister got married and so did I, only my brother remained unmarried. During the process of the NVC processing, my sister was advised that her category had changed because she got married. However, mine never changed even though I added my wife and said she was travelling later. I even added my marriage certificate but they never changed my category.
Fast forward to 2021 after the Trump ban was lifted, my brother got his IV and is now in the US. Mine took a while longer but NVC scheduled my interview for next week. Yesterday I got an email from the US Embassy in London saying that I should confirm my marital status as my DS 260 says I am married. I reply confirming that yes I am married and that much is clear from my DS260. They send the following reply back: "As now you are married, your visa classification changed from F1 to F3. According to the visa bulletin on travel.state.gov, your priority date is not current.
Unfortunately, we need to cancel your upcoming visa appointment.
Please continue to check the cut-off dates on the visa bulletin by visiting www.travel.state.gov when your priority date becomes current."
This email came from an inbox for submitting documents, so I am assuming this is not the person who will conduct the interview?
Now I have no problem with this as I assume my luck has just run out, but alas something is still up. I logged into CEAC, and it shows my Category was now F31. A couple of hours later, it shows my category has reverted back to F11, it is almost as if someone changed it back or there is a glitch in their system. My appointment has not been cancelled and it is still saying I should attend. I was meant to attend my medical today, but I decided not to attend so I don't waste my £350 plus more for vaccines.
I have now been thinking should I attend the Interview since this will not cost me any money, and the worst they can do is refuse it? I have nothing to lose as I am a UK Citizen and I am ok ish here.
What is the advice of this house on this complex case, and has there been any case in the past like this? |

Not DQ but when current on chart A. My son was 20 years+ 2 months when we DQ February 2020. The names might still be there, what matters most is the CSPA. My file was approved within 4 months so my son couldn't leverage much time. But for 30+ person, that means you need a good 9 years plus gap between the PD and the approval date. Ajenikoko89: I think you need to read up on CSPA because i think it only freezes up once you all are DQ or current |
