I'm not sure he's serious about it. Those are the documents Citibank asked from me when I applied back then and this was when I was about 1 year in US. Discover it is another card company that cherish students but they won't send you student card pre-approval if you haven't been in your 1+ years as a student. All the cards have similar approval requirements, you've to have a verifiable location before they entrust their money to you.

Does that include secured credit cards??, maybe that is what he was issued

You can only get the savings account free if you are under 21 and a student or you have to maintain $300 or more every monthly cycle or schedule a $25 monthly transfer from a qualifying BofA account I.e your checking account

You can't go over six transactions during a monthly cycle, to make that possible you will have to maintain $2k in that account.

Naah, its a walk in store. I usually call to check if the rate makes sense before I go there, the thing Is that the higher the amount the more the transaction fee. I knew something was up with worldremit cause the last time I sent money thru them it took them 24 hrs to post the money which was unusual.

Big mess, I wonder what happened. World remit is relatively cheap, those African stores charge too much money that's why I hardly use them

I think there are African stores in some cities where you give them $$ and they remit naira to a naija account immediately. Their rate is like #371.

Richmond, you are right in your little explanation. You just work for the company and at the end of the month you present you invoice (net of tax) and collect your money in cash or check.

What exactly(else) do you want to know about "independent contractor "? You can also refer to it as independent consultant

Let me throw more light, its a delivery job, we get paid electronically (direct deposit) by tips from the customer. Am just asking cause of tax and stuffs, am not cut out to do pay rolls and compute tax info I know accountants can help but...... In general is it really advice able to be an independent contractor "considering that at the end I will still remit tax to d govt", its a part time stuff the tips can be shitty sometimes but on a good day people tip $5 and above. Sometimes if d order is expensive the customer must tip handsomely. Am just concerned about the tax thing, I have made about $1k since march. Do I even get to have a tax break abi later they will milk away all my money, I don't want to make a lot of money by d end of the year so I could either pay less or no tax.

I know its irrelevant but I need someone to reply me.

I have a limited idea about working independently "independent contractor" whereby the company u work for don't withhold taxes and other things from ur wages/paychecks. Pls who has an idea, I tried Google but I need a specific info. Any former independent contractor here?? Thanks

Some people's interview might be short (Like my wife's) while others might have a relatively long interview. Please, lets stop tackling people with short interviews. For me, I do not like reading fluff e.g. How I enter bus from cele, tyre come burst, How them dey deny people wey dey my queue, I come change lane, come run go toilet make the VO no for interview me, come dey for toilet dey pray for God to intervene. USA interviews are pretty straight forward and I feel the transcripts should be concise.

Any graduate from any good school can get internships and jobs at top companies provided they have the skills and are smart about the application process...talking about Engineering courses now..don't know about other areas. Student loans are lot more headache than people think-and with all the interest.

Am glad someone mentioned the interest part. Personally my unsubsidized student loan accrues 50 cents per day. Na to go join military for loan forgiveness.
