Nairaland / General / Re: Why We Could Not Defeat Boko Haram"- Army Commander Writes A Powerful Letter To by ridgeman: 6:34am On Dec 16, 2014 |
You think GEJ doesn't know? Even the President hasn't been to any of the troubled locations so why should lesser mortals. The day the army is serious about Boko Haram that is the day Boko Haram will end but first the Politicians and the President have to be serious until then... |

Naive Government. You actually expect the US to come and rescue you from this mess. Franceis The only western country honest enough to tell you their terms of engagement and follow through. The rest will ruin you quickly. 2 Likes |

Its not April 1st but it should be. Hard to imagine OBJs lawyers actually bothering to respond. Even harder imagining OBJ not releasing his book in grander fashion. Now I'm interested in actually reading the book. |

Another untruth from the coordinating ever expanding Minister. When things get suitably hot she will make her excuses, jump ship and blame everyone else. 1 Like |

Education / Re: Chibok Girls’ WAEC Results Ready – Minister by ridgeman: 9:30am On Sep 16, 2014 |
Just shows how insensitive this Government is. Exactly what value is that information to anyone? Has This government marked the girls as collateral damage? Nigeria has not gone through what Iraq or Syria have gone through yet they wil keep comparing this abduction to those in that area. Shameful we will all die one day and answer for all our failures to humanity. It is inescapable. .. |
Politics / Re: Defence Headquarter Declares Airforce Alpha Jet Missing by ridgeman: 1:40pm On Sep 14, 2014 |
Missing or presumed downed? Military jets just don't vanish without a good reason. Would not surprise me if the faceless Military sympathisers have simply put it out of action as it proved to be too effective. .. |
Politics / Re: Boko Haram Sponsorship Allegation, My Story By Modu Sheriff by ridgeman: 1:20am On Sep 04, 2014 |
Words are cheap it's real evidence that matters. Unfortunately BH is making inroads like ISIL. Maybe after Maiduguri falls then we will wake up, but hope is not lost the military can still win if they simply recognize they are now dealing with a civil war and treat it as such. No amount of pussy footing will work until then. Nigeria is at war... |

@Oti_igba. No you should get very upset and actually do something about it. Support those who are doing something. Go to the market place, canvass your house of rep, go to the newspapers and the TV stations post it on social media etc. But remember no victim no crime so find the victims in the video and put a full stop to this mess |

OP now take your case to court. Find a lawyer, and sue for better working conditions. You have named others (with or without their consent ) and maybe slandered others but you chose to leave your details out? Do the right thing, pursue the right course for addressing this treatment and leave out the threats and name calling. |

The north can no longer be saved... I only see a future of total slow degeneration into chaos... history is full of regions that have become ungovernable, what we're seeing is child's play on what the next 5years will bring. Regardless of who is the next president the lack of will amongst the northern elite and religious leaders to stop these evil acts will only fuel a monster... Goodnight northern Nigeria ...what a pity what a loss of a region that could have been a power house of development 1 Like |

The government needs to acknowledge that they are no longer fighting Boko Haram but are actually fighting Al Queda and it's sympathizers It's hard to coordinate attack after attack after attack on public places without even catching a single terrorist. Where is the intelligence or even the threat alerts to sensitize the public of impending possible attacks. Boko Haram or Al Queda are not the problem it's our inept, incompetent police, so called security services and military that are the problem. All these murders cannot happen without collaboration from those who should be protecting the public. May their souls rest in peace... 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Documents Show Lagos Informed Anambra Government Before Alleged Deportation by ridgeman: 6:05pm On Aug 02, 2013 |
I'm struggling to understand... So one state makes efforts to contact the other state and even transfers the returnees to the designated location. The other state who requested for the location fails to provide any personnel at the location in their own state and then they turn around and cry murder? Let's forget tribe or ethnicity for a moment but it seems one state is guilty of trying to be efficient while the other has folded its arms and decided to do nothing? Now back to ethnicity 1- Lagos is the most multicultural state in Nigeria(possibly in Africa) 2- Will the other law abiding members of the 'affected' group who live in Lagos actually be grieved that this took place 3- Is there any other 'melting pot' state that accords other tribes the freedom to just....be? This is all part of a very minor normal process (which incidentally is expected of good governance) 1 Like |

Politics / Re: What Happened To The ALUU 4 Killers? . by ridgeman: 3:37pm On Jun 02, 2013 |
but the question is still unanswered! I suspect they are still locked up in detention and slowly rotting away, they will probably spend the next 5 years in detention then the next 5 years in prison and then whoever is still alive amongst them will be sentenced to death to be carried out in another 5 years...so 15 years will pass before anything meaningful takes place... SMH may the souls of the innocent boys they brutally murdered rest in eternal peace 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Are Igbo Jews, The Lost Tribe Of Israel? - CNN by ridgeman: 7:17pm On Feb 09, 2013 |
Simple DNA test would resolve all this.truth is Jews are found in many African countries so it's hardly surprising that Nigeria would also have Jews... I believe I read(can't locate the source so don't fry me) somewhere that there is a small northern Nigerian tribe that also has Jewish roots... To our Jewish Igbo brothers I say Shalom may it be well with you... 1 Like |

She needs to get a proper immigration lawyer!!! UK does not allow people who have medical conditions to return to an early grave in their home country. She needs to get a good immigration lawyer Several years ago they tried it with a lady from Ghana who unfortunately died on return to Ghana, the political fallout was huge. Good luck |

Don't know what all the drama is about... Obama averages about 44% approval rating Cameron same or less... Achebe has written what he has written, if the other living participants in the war chose not to then they don't / should not have the right to resort to insults. At the end of the day majority of nigerians are still suffering regardless of tribe and that for me is the bigger issue. Gowon, OBJ etc., please write your own so we the future don't make the same asinine mistakes you all did |
