Truth is, at the risk of sounding like a broken record you can always refrain from giving advice if you've got nothing to say! Do you know the number of people with HIV who are unaware of their status? At least she's trying to do the right thing and know her status so as to start treatment. Even if she is to be HIV positive, is killing herself the best option? Should we kill all HIV positive people? If that was to be an option, you'd be surprised at the number of people that will be dead!
I am concerned because her reckless action put another man like you life's in danger.Do you know if the man is somewhere working himself to death to make this woman happy ,oblivious of this fact.Women have never taught you a lesson in this life,i suppose.I imagine you would be happy if it were your wife and she transmits same to you with a possibility of turning your children into orphans.Trump is trying to cut off most of the aid programs america gives to other countries so how many africans are going to afford anti retroviral drugs after then

By Mubaraq Abdulwahab

Many students aspire to bag a first class degree or be regarded as an A student in their fields of study at various universities and colleges but is attaining or achieving this feat an easy task? Absolutely! YES, especially if the person follows the right steps and tips. The reason why most students hanker to be a first class student or be regarded as an A-student in their fields of study are numerous. This is particularly as a result of veneration by others to such excellent performing students. It also helps the person to develop confidence and make others associated with him or her proud of them, be an authority in a field as well as find opportunities with regards to scholarships, sponsorships, grants and employment. The following tips will help you attain this.

1. Start from Day 1: To be an excellent performing student, it is imperative to start and have this goal in your mind from the very first day in school. You can achieve this by writing what you wish to achieve in your varsity or school down in a jotter or a small book you will be looking from time to time. A friend once told me “I could remember when I was in my first year in the varsity, I wrote down five things I wanted to achieve in the university, of which one is bagging a first class in my field of study. After 5 years, it was achieved. The fact is starting from day one eases the process and the journey and reduces the stress at the end of the program. It helps in serving as a driving force that makes one to work doggedly, consistently in achieving one’s goal. All one needs is to have the intention from the first day in the varsity and to work towards it. Consequently, it is imperative to state that even if one is not a high achieving student from day one, one can still start from this day to improve one’s self. The tenacity of being successful should be the driving force and believing that there’s no excuse whatsoever for failing in your school. This is because any successful person (be it someone who bagged first class or was awarded the best graduating student or the likes), one sees out there has faced several challenges and crossed several hurdles before attaining it but never gave up. If you aren’t motivated, motivate yourself to work doggedly and vision the future (end). The consequences of your actions. What will be the outcome of today’s actions? Will it be the goad to the dreamland or otherwise. Remember, the early bird gets the worm.

2. Believe You Can: One of the greatest driving force to attainment of one’s goals in this life is believing in oneself. This means believing that no matter what the naysayers and obstructionists say, one can and will reach the promise land (and become who one wants to be). To be a high achieving student or an A-student, you must shun these people who doubt your ability about doing great things. You must believe you can do it regardless of the hurdles, barriers, limitations, bottlenecks and impediments on this your voyage. Always remember that these bottlenecks and challenges are what make the victory sweeter. As it is often said “The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory.”

Work: Word in this context refers to reading smart and hard. It involves working towards the goal one has in mind persistently and smartly. To work hard as a student, it is important that one studies hard, smart and attends lecture regularly. It is also imperative to do one’s assignment early and to the best of one’s ability and most importantly teach and impact on others.

Be Consistent: Consistency has been regarded as the chief determinant of one’s success in life. It is an important ingredient for one’s success. Aladodo, a renowned poet and author once said “Consistency brings one to the river of perfection, if not perfection itself” hence to improve one’s academic performance or be the best in one’s field, it is critical to study consistently and teach others consistently.

Make a Big Promise: Making a very big promise and telling others your goal plays a critical and pivotal in making your voyage to get to any class of degree a reality. This is because youths (lads or lasses) have been known to have a prominent feature which is courage. Hence, making this big promise triggers one to work smartly, consistently and acting on the four tips stated earlier towards achieving and attaining this. Practically, I could remember the beginning of a session where two friends who I know made a big promise. The first lad told the other that he wants them to make a big promise to each other. The first promised to nail a 5.0 in his final year. The other made same promise. So they both agreed referring to their agreement as “the 5.00 challenge”. At the end of the session, one of them nailed a 5.00 while the other had a result close to the promise. This result which I practically noted is in line with the findings of American society of training and development. They conducted a study on accountability and found that just having goals doesn’t mean attaining it. According to them, if one informs someone (privately) or publicly that one wants to achieve a goal, then the probability of achieving it is 65%.

With all these tips and surrounding yourself with peers with similar goal as yours, then you are on your voyage to this amazing dreamland you have. Remember, what story you want people to tell about you? It is also critical and pivotal to state that reminiscing and pondering over the merits of bagging or being a high achieving student, this will also be another driving force to your dreamland. Always remember, you can’t get to your dreamland/destination without boarding the car for the journey!

This is what I keep telling those are making noise about Buhari, Buhari is already gone, its his physical body thats still in Aso rock, the Presidency is off his hands, he will kicked out and nothing would happen, why? Those that made Yaradua, GEJ president are thesame folks that made Buhari president after he cried and gave up hope. You people keep hailing Tinubu, but if these bunch backed GEJ in 2015, it wont matter what Buhari and Tinubu does, Goodluck would have won and nothing have happened and would be by now preparing to hand over to whom they chose, fact is these people are no longer with Buhari.

You are right, she has provided no information about the father. However, my take is that an involved Dad should be screaming "bloody murder" if his kids were put at risk, and not be silent about what's happening. I was not suggesting that his parental rights should be taken away from him, rather I said she should ask that he willingly give them up "officially" to be adopted by her future American citizen spouse, to facilitate the speedily resolution of their status issue. He will always be their bilogical father, no one can take that away from him. However, he could consider giving away his day to day decision making rights over those kids, something he has already done for all intents and purposes. This is where I meant that you and Justwise are perhaps being a tad sentimental. He is apparently not in the picture right now making important decisions about these kids future. What difference does it make if this is made official?

When is the last the democratic part controlled presidency and the house?
Obama provided a pathway to citizenship through DACA by inserting a clause in the Act that enabled the smart ones to travel across mexican border, came back the same day and got issued form i-94 at the border which gave them a path to green card.He also opened another pathway for them to join and naturalize through military MAVNI program which the smart ones among them also utilized.Trump came and closed down those pathways immediately he was sworn in.These, subjected obama to a lot of attacks and hatred from fox news, briebart, alt far right white nationalist groups, hardcore racists and the then candidate Trump.Obama is one of the most humane presidents in recent american leadership. He really knows the pain minorities and immigrants face in America and he wanted to make their yoke lighter for them by taking the risk to do what he did and facing backlash from the hate filled hardcore racists in this country who now support trump.Any black man or immigrant that is supporting trump in this country is simply a lost soul
Christianity Etc › Re: For Believers: Bible Studies For Spiritual Growth by rinzaugustine: 6:32pm On Nov 18, 2018
Ihedinobi3:
Hello everyone.

Allow me to welcome you to the thread and wish you a productive experience with it.

The purpose of this thread is...

to provide on a regular basis teachings on the Bible to help believers in Jesus Christ who want it to grow spiritually and bear fruit for the Lord Who bought them with His Life.

Clearly, the primary concern of this thread is with Christians, believers in Jesus Christ. But unbelievers who are curious about our Faith are welcome to observe if they please.

While the author is not shy of debates of all kinds, this thread exists essentially to share what he has learned with others who are willing to learn from him. If there is disagreement with what is said here, he would be happy to discuss that disagreement elsewhere and even link it back here if necessary or useful. This is just to maintain focus and order.

New material will be posted every Sunday with deliberate effort made to cover the basic and major doctrines of the Bible so that the reader can come to understand what the Faith is about. Questions will be entertained all the time regardless what day of the week it is.

Much that may be said here is not exactly common knowledge in the churches today. It may shock the sensibilities of most believers today. The reader is implored to be patient with the studies here. It is also to the reader's benefit to keep in mind that the author is willing to answer any questions or challenges to what is taught here.

It is strongly advised that the reader keep their Bible close and check every claim that is made in the studies written up here. While the author is committed to providing the Truth as clearly and accurately as he can, he believes that no teaching will do any good unless it stands on the Bible and illuminates the Scriptures for the believer.

As believers, our job is to grow in the Truth and help one another to do the same. This is why this thread was conceived. This is one of the ways that the author hopes to help other believers to grow in the Truth and become able to help fellow believers as well.

But perhaps the reader is not a believer. If that is the case, the author implores the unbelieving reader to give their trust to the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may be saved. There is nothing on earth that will last forever. Everything we see and experience in this life will come to an end. But eventually, we will stand before God and it will be decided what our eternal fate will be. If we get to live with God forevermore as part of His Eternal Family, there is no joy in this world to compare with what our experience will be and no loss or suffering or pain in this life that will sour that experience either. But if we are rejected by God and condemned to eternity in the Lake of Fire, there is no pain or suffering or loss in this life that will compare to that experience and no joys in this world that will comfort us then. Whatever the reader's particular experience in this life, whatever the reader may have done, the Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ Who was God Who came down to earth to become a Man and die for all the sins of humanity from the smallest to the greatest, from the first to the last, has paid for it all. All it takes to become part of God's Family, as has just been said, is that the reader should believe in Jesus Christ. The reader is implored to put his confidence in the Lord Jesus and salvation will be theirs.

Getting saved/born again is only the beginning of a long journey. Getting saved is getting in the door or gate. Ahead stretches a long path that every believer is called to follow in order to fulfill the purpose of their salvation. In John 15, our Lord Jesus says,

John 15:8,16 NASB
[8]My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
[16]You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

This is why we were saved: to "go and bear fruit and that [our] fruit [will] remain". The vast majority of Christians are not pursuing this goal. But even so, it is what our Lord expects of us and what He will judge us on.

2 Corinthians 5:10 NASB
[10]For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 NASB
[12]Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,
[13]each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work.
[14]If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.
[15]If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

In the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), the Lord taught us that it is very important to Him that when He returns we should stand before Him with fruit that will survive His fiery test. He will not look kindly upon lives that have produced nothing for Him. So, it is not only right but positively to be striven for that we produce fruit that will survive the Lord's fiery test at His Return. This is what the Lord has left us on earth to do.

How do we do this? It is by learning the Truth with the help of a gifted and prepared Bible teacher, believing it, and deliberately and diligently applying it to our lives and finally helping other believers to do the same(Eph 4:11-16; 1 Pet 2:2). Spiritual maturity is the immediate goal of spiritual growth. At the point of spiritual maturity, we have become able to tell what the Christian Faith is about, why we are here and what is expected of us. That helps us make good decisions concerning every issue of our lives here on earth. It also makes it considerably easier for us to hold on to our Faith and persevere till the end through every trial and every tribulation. Those who fail to grow to maturity always run the risk of falling away from the faith when things get tough as they inevitably do for every believer (Matt 13:20-21). Those who fail to grow to maturity remain susceptible to all kinds of heresies that sneak into the churches (Eph 4:14). Those who fail to grow to maturity may last until the end but they will not bear fruit as a mature branch would and therefore they will suffer loss of reward (Matt 13:22).

Therefore, it is critical that we commit to spiritual growth and pursue spiritual maturity and production for our Lord. There will always be some excuse to deprioritize these things (Matt 13:22) but it is in our very best, our eternal interest to keep these things top among our priorities everyday. It is good to keep in mind that every concern we may have which distracts us from these pursuits commanded by our Lord is one which our Lord not only is very well aware of but has very abundantly provided for even if not quite in the way we may like (Matt 6:31-33). This walk of ours is a walk of Faith so not everything will be immediately evident. In fact, very little will be but what is evident to us will be enough for us to continue pressing forward to please the Lord Who bought us. We should keep this in mind all the time as we take pains to grow spiritually and bear fruit for the Lord.

This shows Atiku understands Nigeria's problem more than many people do.People only steal government's money because they see it as belonging to nobody and even if you fight corruption for 100 years you can never end it because a black man is still a black man. When you privatise those institutions nobody will see any money to steal or can you steal from MTN,GTB and other privately owned companies and go scot free?Government's duty is regulation through tax and law enforcement and creating enabling environment for businesses to grow in form of free enterprise just like it happens in America

JohnspeakU:
4 CLEAR CUT REASONS WHY YOU KEEP MISSING OUT ON OPPORTUNITIES

© Johnspeak Uwangue

Opportunities are the crucial stepping stones to the next levels in our careers and business. And we should always focus on keeping an eye out for opportunities and making the most of them when they arrive. But often opportunities slip by without us even noticing them, and we are not paying attention to what is causing us to miss them.

Today, I want to share with you just some of the many reasons why we keep missing opportunities from a different point of view.

1. AS A THIEF
Oftentimes, opportunities may come to us as a thief. They come in the form of stealing from us and people who always miss out on these kinds of opportunities are those who are always scared of losing. I keep telling people that the reason why the rich keeps getting richer is that the rich are not scared of using the money they have to get more money. They understand the concept that you use money to get more money. Meanwhile, the poor will always hold on to the little they have and not invest it because they always think that someone or an opportunity wants to steal away the little they have.

2. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Have you ever told someone about an opportunity you have and they analyze and tell you that your idea or opportunity is too good to be true? This is another reason why most people lose out on great opportunities. Most people over analyze and over analyze until they over analyze themselves out of an opportunity that could have changed their lives forever. It’s good to always analyze an opportunity presented but always be careful not to over analyze yourself out of a great opportunity.

3. AS LOVE
Sometime ago, my sister was looking for a model for her makeup business interview with one of the country’s leading newspaper. She had friends she could call for the job but she had to tell me about it before informing her friends who are into modeling. As I sat down to think about the concept, I remembered that a course mate of mine was into modeling. The truth is, I was never close to this course mate of mine; we were just the Hi and Hello kind of friends. I knew that she being featured on a top Nigerian newspaper will boost her modeling career and also give her something to brag about but another thought kept telling me not to give her the spotlight because she might not appreciate it.
But out of love to help grow someone’s career I informed her and she was super excited about it. The interview was done and her face was featured on the newspaper and that boosted her career and we became very good friends after that. My main point is that this lady has helped to grow my own career more than I helped grew her career.

4. TIME WASTER
Have you ever been told of an opportunity and you neglected it because it was going to take too long to produce results? I have had opportunities that were supposed to take longer time but manifested in a shorter time because I was dedicated to it. Because it took a longer time for someone else doesn’t mean it will take longer time for you. It’s just a matter of dedication and consistency.
Opportunities abound everywhere and opportunities not taken hold of will fly away and leave us to wait for another opportunity which may take longer time to come or might not came again. Every opportunity is an opportunity to grow to the next level in our businesses, careers, relationship, family, finance etc.
.
SUCCEED YOU MUST!
