FrLukas: Our diplomacy is killing us oooo.
That's why some fools think Yorubas are cowards.
Is it until we are all wiped out before we throw off diplomacy and defend ourselves.
The utterances of the Fulanis backed by their actions have shown their expansionist agenda.
What they don't understand is that Ile- Ife is like the Mecca of Moslems and the Rome of Christians to Yorubas. The world will end first before Yorubas are dislodged from their current habitat.
The Fulanis don't know this because they are mostly nomadic. They are about to learn. Fulanis are very treacherous. They have always hidden under the cloak of religion.True Muslims and Christians do not kill. They are killers and expansionists going by the utterances of their associations. When I read that herdsmen have killed more than 8,000 people within 3 years,I was very sad.I think they have some ulterior motives which Amotekun will not allow. |

Whoever wants to pee their pants should do so right now. You know that we Yorubas are diplomatic. We do not hate Fulanis,Hausas or Igbos but recent actions and utterances of the Fulanis show that they have some ulterior motives. FrLukas: So you want the presidency just to give legal backing to a security outfit.
You aren't a good strategist are you? Do you play chess? Probably not.
The Executive is only one of three arms of government.
Malami can not proscribe Amotekun. He is not the Law. That's a fact. The way it was setup make it very legal. Even more legal than their own creature, Hisbah, up North.
You probably aren't aware that there is an intelligent outfit behind every move being made so far. The mind every move.
Did you know how effective the OPC was in curbing armed robbery in Yorubaland? If you did you won't be wondering how effective Amotekun will be.
You are yet to tell us the benefits of a Yoruba presidency apart from legalizing an already legal organization.
Keep feeding the lies that some governors are arming the outfit for their own political gain.
Take a head count of all the governors that have bought into it and you'll realize that the cut across the two major political parties.
Naysayer. The operation hasn't even kicked off and they are praying it dies.
I'm sure you are happy the way Fulani herdsmen are killing and raping and maiming fellow citizens.
Maybe you are Fulani man yourself. I have just one message for y'all:
The presidency can burn if it likes, Yorubas will keep Amotekun alive, and Amotekun will keep Yorubas alive. That guy is a Fulani man.Amotekun is a safety initiative that 99.9% of Yorubas home and abroad support. Amotekun stays. |

We southwesterners have being actively involved in this govt since inception, we have put in so much work can't just let the presidency go to another region based on ethnic and tribal differences. selemempe: lol...we do u guys lie boldly? During the regional era the east was Africa's fastest growing economy.
We were the largest exporter of palm products in the world.
In industry, the coal mines of Enugu managed by the Nigerian Coal Corporation and Nigersteel's rolling mill which used steel scraps to produce mild steel bars were one of the few coal mines and steel plants in operation in West Africa in 1963. During the NCNC led government, a cement factory was established at Nkalagu, Nigerian Breweries chose a stout factory at Aba, a Tobacco and glass making plant was located at Port Harcourt. Oil mining in the region started by Shell D' Archy in 1937 did not yield commercial quantities until 1957. But by 1965, oil was a promising source of income. In commerce, the port in ph was the 2nd largest import and export port in Nigeria after Apapa. Mind u, lagos was not western region then.
We did best than any other region...google eastern region bro Everybody knows that you are not economically savvy and the Eastern Region was even trailing the Northern Region. The SW led by Awolowo did not borrow a kobo to prosecute the civil war when he was the finance `minister´.....That is savvy. First skyscraper in sub saharan Africa was built by the Yorubas. Free health care. Best roads. Best infrastructures. Industrial areas. First newspaper. Richest region...that they have to lend Nigeria money, twice. Can´t say it better than this Hausa Fulani man..... The VP had and still has a master. There is nothing in the constitution that stops the VP as acting president then from sacking Daura, a personal appointee of the substantive president, but we all know how the world sees that. I don't think that issue was a matter of North Vs South thing. Even if Daura were Yoruba Buhari still wouldn't have taken it lightly.
Imagine Mr. Pence firing an FBI or CIA boss appointed by Trump in his absence. If I can remember, Buhari was ill when all this happened and speculations were rife about his whereabouts. Many thoughts would have run through the mind of a man like Buhari. |

Politics › Re: Pressure Mounts On Osinbajo To Resign by Ritchiee: 10:42am On Sep 19, 2019 |
nairavsdollars: Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
There is intense pressure on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to resign his position with immediate effect, Daily Independent has exclusively gathered.
Sources close to the vice president said since the latest developments in the presidency started, he has received calls from his mentors and loyalists within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to quit his position if he realises “the current developments in the presidency are attempts to humiliate him”.
“Since these developments started, a lot of concerned Nigerians have expressed their concern that the vice president should resign in order to avoid further humiliation. I think that is the intention of those behind the plot too. They want to frustrate him into quitting but I don’t think he (Osinbajo) will do that, at least not for now”, a credible source in the presidency said.
Trouble began last month when the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, issued a memo to Babatunde Fowler, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), requesting him to account for significant variances in the budgeted collections and actual collections by the agency.
Though Fowler, who is a long standing associate of Osinbajo, replied the memo, many believed it was attempt by the presidency not to renew his term.
Also, President Muhammadu Buhari directed his new ministers to channel all requests for meetings with him through his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. Many Nigerians kicked against the move, saying that should have been delegated to Osinbajo, who is the number two man in the government.
On Monday, President Buhari dissolved the Economic Management Team (EMT) headed by Osinbajo and raised another, the Economic Advisory Council (EAC).
The new EAC, which reports directly to the president, will be chaired by an economist, Prof. Doyin Salami.
While Osinbajo has no role in the new economic team, it was also gathered that he may no longer be in charge of the Social Investment Programmes (SIPs) of the current administration, as the TraderMoni and other SIPs will now be handled by the new Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Another presidency source also confirmed that the staff of the vice president will be reduced in the days ahead “in a cost cutting measure”.
A lot of political analysts have said the latest move is targeted at whittling Osinbajo’s powers ahead of the 2023 presidential election as the cabal in the presidency is scheming towards retaining power in the North after President Buhari may have completed his eight years rule.
However, the presidency has kept mum on the issue and efforts made to speak with media aides of the president and some leaders of the APC proved abortive as they declined to speak on the matter.
Speaking on the latest developments, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), said the setting up of the Economic Advisory team will not in any way reduce Osinbajo’s powers.
“Honestly, I don’t see the development in that light. There should be an independent Economic Management team who are economic advisers to the president, it has always been like that. What Osinbajo is doing, his job under the constitution, is chairman of National Economic Council which involves all the governors of the states.
“This new one that was established is to ensure that there is no lacuna. This one is a policy-framing body, they frame policy and recommend to the government. I think that will not affect Osinbajo’s day-to-day responsibilities as head of the Nigerian Economic Council which has a lot of work on implementing policies at the federal and state level.
“My view is that this new group will strengthen Nigeria’s economic power house and capacity to meet our national challenges. It does not remove anything from Osinbajo. He still retains all his constitutional authorities as the chairman of his economic body”, Sagay said.
On his part, Junaid Mohammed, a Second Republic lawmaker, said while there is no rift between Osinbajo and Buhari, loyalists of the vice president should desist from raising false alarm where there is none.
“Osinbajo has performed for the country and for Buhari because of the president’s physical infirmity since he became president. Osinbajo could not have carried out those roles without the permission and authority of the president, his boss. If there is anything wrong in the course of doing his job, it is the responsibility of the president and not the media to call him to order.
“If the two most important people in the country have a problem between themselves which I don’t believe they have, it is the duty of the party to resolve any issues they have. But of course, I am aware that some people who claim to be close to Osinbajo are busy raising false alarm which does not exists,” he said. https://www.independent.ng/pressure-mounts-on-osinbajo-to-resign/ Dumb paper....Independent tabloid is always against SW. Did Atiku resign when Obasanjo was all over him.?Resigning when you are the VP because of mere trivialities like agencies or whatever under him taken away? Atiku went through hell,he did not resign. The best is not to resign. |
