PoliticsRe: Flood In Uyo Despite Drainage System By Julius Berger by ritux: 10:33am On Oct 19, 2013
Estate that does not have its own drainage. I once lived in one estate that does not have drainage and the whole estate was always flooded during raining season. Nobody advised me before I had to pack out.

Now should govt be the one to construct drainage for the owner?
FamilyRe: Should A Married Woman Be A Bridesmaid? by ritux: 8:36am On Oct 19, 2013
This topic made me remember an incident that happened in one of this new modern churches during solemnization. It is either redeem or winners....can't remember exactly. My sisters husband was the best man to the groom. During the sermon, the pastor started prophesying to him that he sees him getting married very soon before the end of the year.

Menh....you need to see the funny smile and laugh that was on the faces of those that knew he was married.

Kudos must go to GEJ for this. We all saw when he rightly spoke at the UN summit that Nigeria deserves a seat in the security council.

I know anti GEJ haters will want to take this away from him but they won't succeed. Waiting patiently for what APC bigots Liar Mohammed Tinubu will say. They never see any good thing from this administration.

One Nigeria...united we shall be.

Are you the security guard?
*jes askin'*
No, I'm not
Foreign AffairsRe: Hillary Clinton Given £80 Parking Fine In London by ritux: 2:40pm On Oct 16, 2013
This can happen in Nigeria. It all depends on the personality of the individual involved.

I tell you a story.............There was this Shell regional manager traveling from PH to Warri. On his way, he decided to stop by a Shell Flow Station. When he got there, he wanted to get into the flow station but the security man refused because he was not putting on helmet. The manager introduced himself and said he wanted to check something briefly and leave but the security guard on duty refused. The manager left in disbelief without getting in.

Two weeks later, the security guard got a promotion and was made a full time shell staff as against the contract staff that he was.

TravelRe: Dana Air License Suspended For Audit by ritux: 8:39pm On Oct 07, 2013
coconut head: Just spoke with their customer car. they say one has to wait till the scheduled flight date to get a refund. Meaning, they're hoping to be in business soon. My flight is for sundat ABV-LOS. But they say i'll have to wait till sunday and dat the refund can only be claimed at the abuja airport and not Lagos airport.

How true is this please
Nosyke: When I spoke with them, the lady told me that, the suspension was only for today just for the audit, that normal flights will resume by tommorrow.
I don't blame both of you. People like you guys are the ones still keeping DANA in the market. No wonder one of u got a coconut head. grin

With all the complains I have been reading online about DANA, if I even have 100M worth of contract to sign in the next hour, I won't board the next available DANA flight.

My dear I think you guys are not being sincere. However, if you guyz are saying the truth then there must be a transformer problem in your area or distribution problem.

In my area at Orazi Estate, we get power up to 18 hrs daily which is an improvement.

I think this Sule Lamido man has some hidden ulterior motives. Only time will tell. As for Nwabueze, I like the reasons he gave for pulling out and also I don't think he has any grievances against the committee else, he won't have nominated his friend.

PoliticsRe: Anambra NNPP Guber Candidate Kidnapped In Awka by ritux: 8:10am On Oct 07, 2013
Most of us just come here and bring ethnic sentiments into every issue. We keep blaming our govts for the backwardness of our great country NIGERIA......forgetting that most of our problems today is as a result of our diverse ethnic and religious divide.

From research conducted here on nairaland, result shows that majority of nairalanders fall within 20 to 40 years which I personally feel is the youth bracket. Now, if we are the leaders of tomorrow, we should thrive to remove this ethnic sentiments from our thinking and actions and see ourselves as one Nigeria. Our leaders have failed us but we should not fail ourselves. We can start from here Nairaland. I see everyone of us in this forum as highly intelligent individuals who wants the best for this country from different views but that will not happen if we don't stop this ethnic bias and fight.

Let's put a stop to ethnic differences..... Nairaland forum is a place where change can start from. Let's live as one and work towards the unity of our Nation.

Peace!

PoliticsRe: Tinubu- Planned National Conference Is Deceptive & Diversionary by ritux: 7:29pm On Oct 06, 2013
payless: Below are Jonathan's words; not mine.

An Editorial page of Premium Times, Feb. 19, 2013 has it that, “Jonathan personally promised not to run in 2015, a denial today that is bareface lie.” The page continued: At a press conference in Abuja in late 2010, a day ahead of President Goodluck Jonathan’s formal declaration to run in the 2011 presidential election, Mr. Dalhatu Tafida, then Director General of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign organisation, said the president won’t seek another term in 2015. The president, he said, would be available for only a single term if elected.” “I’ll not contest in 2015-Jonathan (2011),” see Daily Independent, Sept 9, 2013. “Four years is enough for anyone in power to make significant improvement and if I can’t improve on power within this period, it then means I cannot do anything even if I am there for the next four years” (Nigerian Vanguard, Feb. 1, 2011). The New PDP is also pointing to a 2011 statement credited to Jonathan in Ankara, Turkey, which states that “President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, said he has no ambition to stay in office beyond 2015, assuring Nigerians in Diaspora that while he will not contest the 2015 election, he will ensure that this year’s election is free and fair.”
Now talking about not keeping to words, what about other politicians that come before us with promises and mouth watering manifestos, do they keep to their promises? As far as I am concern, 80% of Nigeria politicians don't keep to their words. It is not only GEJ.

AIT 8pm news said 14 dead, 6 survivors.

The guest special adviser on aviation during the news said 8 Survivors.

I think only 20 persons were on that plane.
