A young man was arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for vandalizing all the fancy lights and pulling down statue of Dr. Akanu Ibiam at Abacha round about, Gunning Road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.


According to an eye witness, the man came to the vicinity with Monday hammer and other instruments, climbed the artificial water fall and commenced the destruction.
Before he started, he proclaimed that evil concoctions and charms was buried in the round about before the fancy lights were installed, hence, Abakpa traders and in deed Abakaliki people were held to a ransome by the evil forces in the state from progressing and even asking for their rights.


It was gathered that he removed some materials from the ground and assured the onlookers who were majorly traders in the market that, their liberation is assured having removed the obstacles on their way.
He pleaded with the people not to worry about what will befall him as he was sent by the Holy Spirit and that he will not be abandoned by his sender.


It will be recalled that President Mohammadu Buhari on November 14th, 2017, commissioned the statue of Late father and leader, Late Ezeogo Dr. Akanu Ibiam in Ebonyi

The Hyderabad Excise and Enforcement team busted a drug racket that was being operated from Bengaluru by a Nigerian gang and nabbed one of its members in Bangalore on Monday. Fifteen grams of cocaine were seized from his possession.

The former president of the Nigerian Association in Bengluru, India, identified simply as Eve alias Hamza, (pictured) is allegedly the kingpin behind the drug cartel running in Hyderabad involving African nationals, investigations by the State Excise and Prohibition departments revealed.


The Nigerian kingpin, operates from Bangalore and runs the trade by sending poor African students to Hyderabad, Goa and other cities as peddlers to sell cocaine, MDMA and other contraband drugs.


The kingpin, who runs the cartel from Bangalore, targets students from Africa with financial problems and lures them into the business, AES Enforcement, N. Anji Reddy said.

"He has been trapping students and using them to sell drugs in Goa, Hyderabad and other cities. The operation and network was unearthed based on the confession of a BBA student arrested by our officials in Hyderabad," said the official, adding that Hamza was absconding and efforts were on to arrest him at the earliest.


Excise Enforcement officials arrested a 30-year-old North African who is a BBA student, after a raid near Bible House and seized 15 grams of cocaine and two mobile phones from him.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that he was sent from Bangalore by Hamza to sell narcotic drugs here.


The arrested was identified as Vtindn Guessan Yves, 30, a resident in Bengluru and native of Yaunde town in Ivory Coast police said. He was spotted during a routine check while he was moving around suspiciously near Bible House and was picked up by the officials, who found 15 grams of cocaine and two mobile phones in his possession, said N. Anji Reddy, assistant sup-erintendent of excise enforcement.


“When questioned, he confessed that he worked for the kingpin Hamza in Bangalore and was sent to Hyderabad, like several others, by him.
He also said that he had a roomate, Obum, a Nigerian, and that he had travelled to the city with him.”

A 29-year-old man has been apprehended and arraigned by security operatives for smashing a stabilizer on his sexagenarian-mother�s head in Lagos.

An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Tuesday remanded in prison a 29-year-old man, Taiwo Akinola, for smashing a stabilizer on his sexagenarian-mother’s head.
The accused is facing a attempted murder charge.
The Chief Magistrate, O.A. Komolafe, who gave the order, said the accused should be kept behind bars at Ikoyi Prison pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Earlier, police prosecutor Kehinde Omisakin told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 19 at 8.00 a.m. at No. 2 Raji Ajanaku St., Ayobo, a Lagos suburb.

Mr Omisakin said the accused had in a bid to murder his mother, Iyabo Fawole, 68, smashed an automatic voltage stabilizer and a wooden stool on her head.
The offence contravened Section 230 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The case has been adjourned until October 8 for mention.

Micah Adjarkoh has gotten the attention of the world after he did something not all 4-year-olds can. Micah made headlines after a recording of him speaking to an operator after calling 999 when his mother collapsed.
The little chap and his mom, Chancelvie Ngoy were guests on UK’s Channel 5 News where Chancelvie relived the truly shocking moment when she collapsed and Micah reached for her phone and called 999.


Chancelvie who revealed that she thought she was going to die was just as surprised that Micah who only recently turned 4 would remember the emergency code.

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has explained a statement he made earlier saying he could remain in the Senate forever if he so desires.

We had reported that while speaking on Thursday at an event organised by the #NotTooYoungToRun movement, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, boasted that he could remain in the senate for the rest of his life if he so wishes.



In a reaction as the report went viral online, Ekweremadu in a statement he released on his official Facebook page, @iamekweremadu, said his advice was taken out of context.
He said he was only mentoring the youth that they needed to be rooted at the grassroots and relate closely with their immediate constituencies to achieve their political dreams, ”using himself as an example”.

“My advice was taken out of context. I have always seized opportunities of meeting the youth and other aspiring politicians, who consult me on their political ambitions against the erroneous notion that they must have a godfather in Abuja or the party to succeed in politics.

“Much as I played a key role in ensuring that the Not-Too-Young-To-Run Bill succeeded and even wanted 18 years as age qualification to run for office, I have always advised my mentees that it is erroneous to hope to win elections relying only on the fact that they are young.

“I always advise them to start from somewhere, preferably the grassroots and remain with people even when elected. In my case, I served as Chairman of my age grade association at ten and served so many years as the President of my community’s town union before serving as the pioneer Chairman of my Local Government Area (LGA), etc.,” he said.

He further explained that he used his success story to stress that the secret of his political staying power lies in relating closely with constituents, ”making oneself accessible to them, and ensuring justice and equity in the distribution of opportunities and development projects”.

“I said that so long as I continued on this path, my people would always want me to run, ready to re-elect me as many times as I am willing to present myself. This is a verifiable fact.

“This is despite the fact that my town, Mpu, is the smallest in my LGA, and my LGA is the least in Enugu West Senatorial. And that is the more reason I remain humble about it and most grateful to my people, who are my primary employers and above all to God to whom all power belongs, and whose grace has no doubt brought me this far,” he added.
Ekweremadu has been Nigeria’s deputy senate president for over a decade.

The cute daughter of footballer Emmanuel Emenike and former MBGN, Iheoma Nnadi, turned one yesterday. The former beauty queen took to Instagram to share beautiful throwback maternity photos to mark the birthday.


She also took the opportunity to reveal that she didn't know she was pregnant at the time "bloggers" reported it.

She wrote;

Back when some blogs wrote that I was pregnant, I didn’t even know I was actually pregnant. I was quite annoyed. Yes! I knew I had gained weight, but can’t a woman gain weight in peace again?� I believed it was “happy weight” or from the injection. Hence my response�‍♀�‍♀ I also had irregular periods, so it wasn’t a big deal not to see my period.


One day, I decided, let me actually go and check as I started having food aversions, nausea, fatigue etc. I found out I was 11 weeks in!!!! I sat in my car for complete one hour!


God was truly taking me on a journey that I felt I wasn’t ready for. However, carrying her was an exciting and beautiful journey.
I realized that I was way stronger than I thought. I’m so blessed. 
I never missed an appointment, always repacking my hospital bag and cleaning the house�. During my third trimester, i always wondered what she’ll look like, I couldn’t wait for her to come. 


My little-big baby is 1 today. Her first year on earth. So thankful to God for this journey, blessing, her good health, her cheerful self and her loving dad.

When we reject God’s created order and purposes for our lives as women, we will not find lasting happiness. We don’t need feminism to inform us of our worth and value.

We need to re-embrace God’s design for marriage, family, dignity of life, and sexuality. We need to repent of our pride and accept God’s Word as the authority in our lives.

Rohr, who extended his contract with the before the World Cup in Russia guided the team through a successful qualifying campaign but came under scrutiny after the team failed to progress beyond the group stage with just a win and two losses.

There were calls for Rohr to be sacked, but the NFF have decided to back the German tactician.

“I got good offers from countries who were at the World Cup, but in the end I decided I want to continue working here in Nigeria,” Rohr stated during his interaction with the media in Lagos on Friday.

“I like the team we have here and the NFF has made the environment very conducive for me, so I don’t see any reason why I should leave now.

“I hope this team will be better in future and it is important to continue the good work we started.”

Rohr will be hoping the Super Eagles qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after missing out in the last two editions.

The three-time African champions will face Seychelles in their AFCON qualifying game on September 7 in Victoria.

Popular comic actor, Mr John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu has condemned the rising spate of homosexuality in the Nigerian movie industry.

In an interview with newsmen published on Saturday, Ibu said the practice has been killing the industry gradually.

The actor, while answering a question on the challenges facing the industry since he acted his first gig in 1978, said, “For one , piracy came in and crept into the very fabric of the movie industry.

“A lot of other things came in too and shrank the growth and speedy rise of the industry.

“Homosexuality came in , lesbianism came in and a whole lot of people in the industry became members of these devilish acts to bring the spirit down .

“I came out and told them that this kind of spirit kills the spirit of the movie industry because all it does is to come close to somebody that actually devotes time for the industry, to make the industry grow through their respective offices and companies , making these persons they come close to start second – guessing what they are offering .

“I said to them , if you are indulging in this kind of devilish group , it won ’t work and because of that some slacked.

“Nollywood is my main constituency , so when things are happening on my watch that speaks contrary to what the industry is trying to portray then somebody has to speak up .

“But we still have a lot of people that take the industry very seriously, delving into the business and projecting a better name for the industry.”

However, he commended the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas for working assiduously to curb the trend.

Ibu added, “I must commend the National President (of AGN), Emeka Rollas. He has been doing a lot because for a very long time , good administration eluded us until he came in .

“He has been so wonderful in his administration . But he is only one man , he can’t do it alone but I also must tell you from the very careful selection of the National Task Force body , I know that we are going to succeed in making sure that we curb this thing .”

Ibu, while also lamenting the prevalence of piracy, called for the establishment of an anti-piracy body for the entertainment industry.

He said, “And again , since we have NAFDAC that are in charge of food and drugs in Nigeria , we have EFCC against corruption , then let’s have anti- piracy board for the entertainment industry, including the music and film industries .

“Those people will take care of us . And we would be very happy because anybody who is a writer will write more when the film is being sold , when actors act more, when directors direct more and when marketers market more.

“But , if this virus called piracy is going to continually plague the sector then that means we are labouring for nothing .

Piracy is still in existence but if only the government can just help us and setup an anti – piracy board in Nigeria, I would be the happiest person.

The general overseer of Victory Life Bible Church Abeokuta, Ogun state, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has come under criticism from Nigerians after asking his church members to drop N5,000 and various amounts of money in his hand so that they can receive their blessings.


In a trending video posted online, the cleric can be heard telling the congregation that if anyone has N5,000, N10,000 or N3,000, he/she should come and drop it in his hand because what he’s doing is special and wants his congregation to connect to it.




Church members trooped out in their numbers to drop the offering as the pastor told them that money will locate them anywhere they go.
Nigerian Facebook users have heavily criticised the pastor over his mode of offering as they say that one’s blessings doesn’t depend on how much he or she gives.




Recently, the pastor’s wife, Rev. Folake Achudume, trended online after asking members of the church to give N21, 000 so they can secure a divine intervention within 21 days.
In a video which went viral, the clergywoman asked those that do not have the money during the service, to come to her office within the week to drop the money.
