innovative:Hey innovative, i'm guessing you're a fin/hr hopeful right anyway welcome onboard i feel you on the long and endless wait, it's been a long long time since october srd, would be great if you chip in once or twice 2good:i thought someone mentioned something about a waiting list for sitp, thought that explained why some people have not heard anything yet. Anyway 2good i know how you feel, just keep your head up and keep having faith. I think you should also try to get in touch with HR so you can know exactly whats happening. Cheers |
Page 100 this is unbelieveable, congrats you all! |
angela255:Congrats angela, what are you planning to do your masters in?? well september is a long wait, who knows you might get your offer letter before then deinowei:yup my connection is really wacked today. yeah cutesey had srd interview, so we are all more or less on the same level now, waiting for medical invitations. we have not heard from her since then though, but i'm sure it went well. she's a sharp girl. deinowei:Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, good point but emmm deinowei, what makes YOU think i am a HE?? food for thought ![]() |
deinowei:Offer letter, my dear we have not even been called for medicals, the way it is after the initial srd in october, a bunch of people got negative feedback about a week later, three people i am aware of in my group, and the number varies in other groups. the rest of us without feedback have been pretty much in the dark! waiting, and ofcourse being hopeful funny enough for me the wait has been an experience, i have completely enjoyed the "narialand" aspect of it though meeting people on this thread who will oneday become my colleagues, resumption, well we heard shell wants to start off in april i dont know how true or if that applies to us but hey i guess we can only just wait and see, and pray of course! |
Lol, my internet connection is kinda crappy, been trying to sort that out for a while. Madam deinowei how are you this evening ? ![]() |
Rave:Hmmmm atleast by then we for don dey earn FAT FAT salary, so we go fit spray you better money for your wedding! |
KDB:lol, thanks i dey try take am easy ohhhh but lets see how it goes, like Ranbaxy said "God has not forgotten us" |
KDB:So far we have'nt heard anything ohh and we are pretty much in the dark. But shell is currently conducting srd for finance people, so we are speculating that they probably don't have enough people and they need more, well it's just speculation, but what can we do but speculate. Take the hint well well oh and shine your eye! ![]() |
deinowei:How you take know if her husband to be no be correct guy, hmmmmmm don't underestimate rave ohh! Deinowei i take it you are planning to fall in love during SITP hunh, ( coughs) KDB, RANBAXY and co take a hint fast enough oh! LOL deinowei:I'm here now, I'm not the owner of nairaland though, and i don't plan on a take over bid too ( seun your site is safe) hmmmmmm, yes we will get to see if i am as vocal as i type. like i said there'll be a lot of suprises within shell walls. @ house thanks you guys for being around and posting, really brightened up my day ![]() Cheers |
aniffy4eva:thanks aniffy4eva, yeah i actually really like the nlng thread, when i wrote the shell test and i was scared i would definately flunk out i stumbled on the nlng thread, i posted there and joined my faith with the house, a little while later i got a mail i had passed, guess it was then i sorta realised the power of a praying "house" and when tosat talked about a shell thread i felt it would be a swell idea, and here we are, i read your blog too, and it's really nice, i'll make sure i post a comment there the next time i visit. tosat:i see you forgot i had exam yesterday, well it went well, come online later lets chat. Thats true cutsey how did your srd go, you haven't been around for a while! anyway let us know how far ok. RANBAXY:Amen oh, this house will not fall, well i do hope the process ends soon, the endless wait has been crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy, lol but God dey! RANBAXY:Geez thanks Ranbaxy, God will never forget any of us, he can't forget his children! You guys have been a source of encouragement too, and i have made great friends here, it'll be so cool when we all start working together ( and i am being prophetic here, so all shell hopefuls shout AMEN) deinowei:hMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM KDB: ![]() Hmmm if i had my shell offer letter i wonder what i'll be doing not reading, probarbly shopping, lol actually i don't think there's anything wrong in doing the haliburton test, there's nothing as wonderful as having offers and then choosing, and remembering you had offers and you made a choice, does something good to you ego! so you guys should write it if you want to, it's up to you KDB:yeah theres someone who posted something like that a while back and honestly the guy was clueless as to what the problem could be quote author=KDB link=topic=91130.msg1986297#msg1986297 date=1203707932] abba, but you've already got one na, ![]()

like i said, there's nothing like having options and then making a choice, but hey you know now shell is number one for me |
hi guys, sorry i have been up and about recently jare trying to find myself a job, lol How are you all, KDB nice one man you have been doing a great job tooo Thanks you guys for the comments will be back in a bit to comment on the comments. Cheers |

scoobydoo:i see you noticed, well i have no choice really, sometimes i find this thread on the third page, IMAGINE!!!! so i have to do a quick post to keep it from ending up in the lagoon, lol Keep the faith alive bros. Cheers |
dutchess: ![]() let me take a wild guess, you have been a victim of unilag records office senate building right, i'm just guessing though! |
AlfaPrime:you can say that again, exxon mobil is a really great company, all the best pisky i pray you come out tops, cheers |
yeah kpmg is calling everyone now for interviews, i'm about to have my second interview in a bit. my advise is read up a bit on the departement you are interviewing for and then just be confident, they are really nice people. Adaeze Balogun is really nice too. All the best folks |
Edoblakky:Edoblakky i can just imagine how you feel, tons of us still havent heard anything still sooo just take it easy ok. Maybe you guys should actually call your facilitators or something to find out whats up, |
texazzpete:Lol i can just imagine this happening, that will be the day! |
Rave:Hmmmmmmm so we hit the bulls eye yeah, that;s really great news ohhhhhhhh, atleast it was worth the wait in the end. Congrats on your upcoming wedding, hmmmmm you suppose send special shell hopefuls invitation and we suppose get special VIP seat.LOL Yes persistence does pay alot, i'm learning that theses days oh 2good:wish i knew the answer to that question, but hey you really have no choice but to keep waiting i guess! To the house, please make una no disappear, the thread is mighty lonely without you all, cheers |
okin:Awwww i'm so sorry Okin, i'm practically in the same shoes though i'm sure i don't sound it , but hey i have learnt to take things in good faith jare, But for all we know more invitations might come sooo lets all keep our fingers crossed. Cheers |
Okin, actually i know a procurement person who has an invite on the 20th of feb, not everyone posts on nairaland you know, they have started sending invitations, ![]() |
trillions:well so far very group that sat for the tests in january has been invited, i dunno if its going to be in batches but lets just see how it goes sha, for all we know more letters could pour in this week, or maybe not, just keep the faith alive and hope for the best |
router:hi, applying to exxon mobil isnt a hard process atall, they usually advertise in the newspapers when they have vacancies then you get to send your cv's via the internet, right now i don't think there are any vacancies but you could just submitt an unsolicited application to the site and keep your eyes open for the next time there's a vacancy. i can't remember the website now but just google exxonmobil nigeria and you should find the site. all the best. jidadex:i don't think anyone is going to send replies to yourbox jidadex, you should do a little work yourself too, lol Anyway theres another exxon mobil thread where some tips on the interview where posted there you can read that, all the best then. |
angela255:I know the feeling jare, atleasy you sitp folks have had some form of feedback, we hr/fin folks are just hanging jare, but what can we do, but wait and pray of course, everything is in God's hands and what is meant to be will be, i tend to think that way these days because it helps me worry less about things, if not i for don die with hypertension on top waiting for shell, lol I can just imagine the tension you must be going through especially now that people have gotten offer letters and even rejection letters, but just keep having faith and believing in God, at this point that's the best thing to do. Take it easy angela and whatever happens just know that God indeed knows best. Cheers |
This is the most hilarious thread i have ever read on this forum, lol i think someone would change the name of the thread to " i am interested" the funniest part is even after i have made this post tons of people will still post their email addy's and say i am interested please mail me, this is just too funny interested in what i ask? you all should just learn to be patient enough to read, that might just be the key that defines you getting a job or not, anyway thanks though you all made my day, i just can't stop laughing infact i have a new email address called iaminterested@mailme.com ![]() To the first poster i really think what you intended here was nice but my advise is that you just start a new thread and this time don't call it vacancies for fresh graduates, a lot of people are just to desperate to read! i just cant wait to see who the first person will be to post another email address right after my comments, my God deliver us!!! |
Really nice piece mister, coming at a time when lots of people need to remember that God can do all things, kudos to you! |
Hmmm Tommy vex so you have a secret love for teddy bears, hmmmm interesting! hope you got lots of them for vals day though |
trillions:Nice one man, it certainily isn't by power or by might, at this point i guess it's faith that can do it! i believe i have received it! ![]() |
KDB:yup i feel you, was only just pulling your legs jare! somze:I wouldn't say shell's process is flawed because of ethnicity, i just believe the recruitment process is only a reflection of the country we live in. Ethnicity is a very important part of Nigeria, and this division shows its head from the day you write common entrance, sit for jamb examinations to get into university, receive scholarships in university, and continues straight through to the process of getting a job. There is always one form of quota system rooted firmly on ethnicity, while this may not seem very healthy it's a necessary evil to achieving a form of balance in the country and it will keep on being an important part of the country for some time to come. It would be almost impossible for a multinational (especially one that has its operations tied down to the vital part of Nigeria's economy- oil )operating in Nigeria who will not take the peculiarities of the Nigerian environment into consideration. Rather than say flawed, I'd say it is aware of the Nigerian factor and really for any organisation to be successful it has to incorporate the environment into its overall corprate strategy, which of course involves its human resource strategy. Call it unfair but yeah people from the Niger delta will be given some sort of preference, either in the number of people they hire, or less stringent requirements, so i wouldn't be shocked or surprised if texxazpete says they have more western people in his programme somze:I disagree with you on this, i doubt if ongoing restructuring has anything to do with wanting to hire more people from the west, from what i understood it was purely efficiency driven, shell is trying to streamline jobs through its ONE Shell project, which of course is an off shoot of the vandalising of their vessels, Niger delta crises, debts owed to suppliers and a series of other things But of course people within the walls of shell will have a clearer and firmer grasp on the situation, but even then people's opinions generally differ on the subject, guess we just have to wait and see how the story unfolds. |
Alfa prime i take it you're some sort of human resources expert right or something, i never heard of BEI before, so thats what that sort of interview is called yeah!!!!!!! I don't know about the briefcase part, i mean do women have to carry a briefcase ? and a white shirt, yeah i guess white has this purity thing stamped all over it, but i think a sharp looking tm or a h and c under a black suit would do it, (or any other really nice looking shirt if you aren;t much of a tm fan), generally i'll say wear something that makes you feel on top of your game and not tooo self concious, AKA something comfortable!Anyway all the best pisky, with all this info you should be blasting your interview innit ? I'll still ask around from people i know who are scheduled for next week and i'll let you know.Like alfaprime said preparing is your key to success sooooooooo prepare as much as you can, oh and pray tooo! |
coolesmile:Coolsmile sorry to burst your bubble but Mobil has started calling for interviews, i know a couple of people already scheduled for interviews I don't know for sure if they have finished calling everybody but so far people have been invited. . so just take it all in good fate jare pisky:Pisky you have a way with the Big words don't you, anyway don't take it the wrong way, alot of nairalanders have been looking forward to hearing from exxon mobil so you coming to say you have the interview and all that brings in some tension, lol Anyway about the interview, i have a friend who did the accounting interview sometime ago, i'm not sure if its the same structure as what you'll be having this time, but from what he told me it was the same basic interview, only that it was a panel interview.(i think there where like 6 interviewers) So just prepare yourself on basic interview set questions, tell me about yourself, weaknessses, all those typical interview questions. Be smartly dressed, confident, and smile always.I'll let you know if i hear anything else before your interview. All the best then. |
fmonopoli:So there's another srd coming up in march, hmmmmmm do you know if this is the last one that's going to hold or are there more scheduled in april, may, or even JUNE |

?
