Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Aptitude Tests E-booklet-now Available by RobbieLex: 6:31pm On Apr 21, 2008 |
Hey if you're trying to read for shell's tests then go to www.shl.com where you can get samples of the tests free of charge. SHL is a uk company that designs all shell's tests so i don't know how coach 5 has the tests in these booklets, My advice - go to the website and pratice other pshycometric tests ( free) and you'll be fine. Wish you all the best. Cheers |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by RobbieLex: 7:34pm On Apr 03, 2008 |
RANBAXY: A big Amen to that, there really is NOTHING God cannot do, keep having faith and trusting God, there's nothing God cannot do. So you guys will be unveiling and unmasking that should be fun, " Hi my name is , but you might know me as Ranbaxy" would love to see and know who people really are, so when we bump into eachother within shell walls it won't be like bumping into a total stranger. Its so amazing the way time flies, Yesterday i was applying to shell and fretting over my srd, and today, Today a whole new next generation of shell hopefuls is about to emerge Suddenly there are so many shell threads now, sometimes i think we should rename ourselves shell - the present generation LOL Seriously though i can't help wondering how long this thread will survive and if it will survive, my main question is what will be the purpose of keeping it alive in the days ahead Before it was a way to inform people who had to go for interviews Then it was a way for us to join our faith together and pray that God would open the door to Shell for us Now what will be the purpose Keeping in touch Remaining hopeful for the few remaining shell hopefuls?? an avenue to while away time A thread to inform the upcoming next generation of shell employees Or just something we have been doing a long time and gotten pretty used to For me I enjoy writing on this thread, I actually look forward to it, I guess when you write stuff that lots of people will be reading, you know that your words could go along way to whoever is reading them Encourage a tired job hunter, Encourage a faithless unemployed graduate, Change the mind set of someone who thinks a Job would define them So for me writing on this thread has been a wonderful experience, I encouraged myself through other people's words and i encouraged others the best way i could. All i can say is whether these be the last days of this thread OR the birth of a new thread with a new direction It was worth it all through the way I enjoyed the nairaland shell waiting days And i met a lot of great people here ( though a lot of masks are still yet to be unveiled) It has indeed been a fulfilling journey Thank you all PS This isn't a goodbye message, sooooo you ELV people una done get internet connection ohhhh, no excuses, so drop a word sometime Cheers |

HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO everybody I'm certainly in a very good mood today, i just feel i have wonderful reasons to be happy for my life, thinking of easter and what it symbolises in my life - our lives, the fact that we would not be if he didnt let us be by dying and giving up all he had He is the reason for everything for living for breathing I think and i believe that that is enough reason to be happy, enough reason to sing shout praise and dance I actually feel like screaming, only i am alone in my room and if i scream, well people in my house plus my neighbours would think i have gone crazy Speaking of crazy , anyone heard Mercy Me's Crazy I am so loving that song right now! I'll share the words with you all CRAZY Why would i spend my life longing for the day that it would end Why would i spend my time pointing to another man isnt that crazy How can i find hope in dying with promises unseen How can i learn your way is better than everything i am taught to be isn't that crazy I have not been called to the wisdom of this world But to a God that's calling out to me Even though the world may think I am losing touch with reality It would be crazy To choose this world Over eternity If I boast let me boast in flithy rags made clean if i glory let me glory in my saviour's suffering Isnt that crazy As i live this daily life i trust you for everything i will humbly take a step when i feel you leading me Isnt that crazy You can call me crazy Call me Crazy Anyway i love the words of the song, really deep and all To my dear nairalanders it doesn't matter what the world calls you, let them call you crazy, jobless, desperate, All that really matters is what he calls you, All ELV bound people i wish you all the best in packing up your bags, need any help just hola, lol Cheers |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by RobbieLex: 5:37pm On Mar 23, 2008 |
onizzy: Hi Onizzzy sorry i am just replying you know theres alot of excitement here, so theres a tendency for people to forget to reply you. Well about shell's recruitment, they usually advertise in the newspapers when they are recruiting especially their engineering positions which comes in the form of SITP. For non- technical roles or commercial roles, these are also made public or done through recruitment agencies. I have also heard of a few people who put up cv's in shell's website and got calls, i don't know how true that is but i don't think that would really hurt if you tried that. How ever you get your application through to the hr, if you qualify they will invites you for an aptitude test ( although i know some people who didn't have tests but just had straight interviews) after which if you are successful you get to go for srd shell's recruitment day - a very interesting interview process which is in the form of an assessment centre. For qualifications, well i know that shell takes people with 2.2 I'm not sure if theres any added thing you need like a professional qualification or something if you have a 2.2 but i know they take 2.2 sometimes, but generally you find more people with 2.1's and above. Speaking of applying to shell i saw an ad in one of the threads, if you are interested in finance and economics you can try to apply for it , i think its to close on the 21st of April. All the best onizzzy hope i was able to help you a bit. Cheers |

You guys are really funny, Anyway engrbrume i know that the engineering test is in three sections. Mechanical saptial Maths I heard that its really technical too, with all them further maths kind of questions. Unfourtunately i am not an engineer and so i can't exaclty give you a broad description of the test but atleast i can give you this little information to start with first. I wish you all the best in your test. 1 Like |

Happy sunday all its been a very lonely and rather dull few days in the house, everyone is missing shaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, i wonder why? Hi guys so sorry haven't checked this thread in ages anyway my advice is that you call them up just incase they have misplaced your file or something, i actually didnt wait for them. You should try to get your hands on a direct line, really wish i could help you with that but i can't exactly give out a number on this forum, so my advice is if you have a friend that works there you could try to get a direct line for one of the hr ladies from them. Cheers all and happy easter |

teemee: Hmmm seems teeme has taken over from deinowei, dein wetin happen today KDB: Me toooo, thats the question i tried to get Mike to answer, i mean no matter the topic , you ought to remain professional in a professional environment. Maybe if Mike could give us an example, then we'll see things from his perspective |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by RobbieLex: 9:51pm On Mar 17, 2008 |
Miketomi: in summary i think there are two broad categories of Nigerian workers. Those who are over worked And those who become redundant ( this is the category where a lot of oil workers usually fall into) Then there is the very small category of people who actually become professional at their jobs, who actually make out time for personal development irrespective of whatever industry they fall into. Like you said it takes hardwork and being serious minded to fall into this category. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by RobbieLex: 9:30pm On Mar 17, 2008 |
Miketomi: It's good that you consciously try not to make people fell uncomfortable, i know how i feel when people just break into their lanuguage - it's an impolite way of indirectly saying "it's not your business". I'm curious to know what type of information would really require that one speaks his local lanugauge in a professional environment |

Hi guys hope you all had swell weekends, been a little under the weather for a while and out of circulation, sorry about that jare. I see yemhosky answered our call and finally dropped a word. Good to have you back men, i thought you had completely exed our side ohhhhh. On the oil company's debate, I really do not have facts as such, but with my little experience with mobil i realised that There's a little bit of the Nigerian factor present in the company, though my experience with them was really brief and may be to short to reach a strong conclusion but i PERSONALLY think Shell is a lot more professional than mobil, i hear Total also scores really high in professionalism, but in terms of pay and incentives i don't know for sure which is a better option. I don't think the yoruba factor is an issue, i am not yoruba but i tend not to look at tribes as a big issue, we are all one nigeria jare, and if mobil takes people on merit and yoruba's come out tops then there is no reason why yoruba's should not dominate the company, though i am not a fan of language speaking at work and i know yoruba's over love their lanuguage, but still it's not cool to speak in any languauge people around you cannot understand when you are in a professional environment, For me the choice of company depends on what's important to you as an individual, and where God wants you to be. People do extremely well in most of these oil companies and at the same time lots of people get redundant and don't really have any career growth and stuff. So it depends on who you are and what you want to get from where you are. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Shell Nigeria - The Next Generation by RobbieLex: 9:58pm On Mar 14, 2008 |
KDB: Hmmmmmm seems we have a lot of hot cakes on this thread. KDB - mobil shell Deionowei - agip shell So kdb what was the key deciding factor for you, so many people faced in similar situations would always look for the one that pays higher, obviously you didnt, So why did you eventually choose shell instead of mobil? |
