Family › Re: Single Brothers and Sisters, Keep Your Head Up! by ronald4lif(m):
To be single isn't a big deal and deserve no sermon of encouragement. I think if anyone deserve to be encouraged it should be the married. What a lot of the married go through isn't admirable and something to dream about.

Now this is not to rub the marital institution in the mud but marriage isn't a rosy ride like some may want us believe. There are married people who wish they could have their single days and sole independence back. Just like there are some who have found total repletion in the union.

Before one rubbishes single guys/ladies they should take an inner look of their friends, loved ones and acquaintance who are all married. Look beyond the surface and propaganda they are projecting and ask yourself how happy these people are? Have their lives improves better than it were when they were single? Many marriages today are still together coz of the kids, which is a good thing.

I don't know about you but I can confirm that many of the married I know aren't contented with their marriage. I can see beyond the facade and some usually open up that they got more than what they bargained for. So before anyone berate the unmarried don't think the other end of the stick is better.

In a nutshell, marriage isn't for everyone. If you think it's what you want go for it. And if you think it isn't something you can handle, stay away from it. Naysayers and what 'jobless' people would say people shouldn't bother you.

Why didn't the guy stand his ground about her taking the test before sèx.

Let's always try to condemn wrong doing. What this op and his friend did is very very bad. It's not like the girl threatened him with a gun to his that he must have raw sex. Some people are even calling her a terrorist. Really?

For someone that says he's in the medical field the guy goofed big time. Let's always try to call a spade a spade. People always do shiit because they know they're not in a sane clime where they can't be dragged to court of law for their wrongs.
Oh well. I still support him for saving a life but his wrongdoing is enormous and should have landed him in jail should the victim find out she was drugged. And his license withdrawn. But for saving a life, all misconduct is excusable by moi.

See, this could be SuperStory cheesy but I will use the opportunity to decry violation of Human rights and the use of drugs to subdue people(esp women).

I insist the easiest way is walking out of the relationship and insisting on non-reconciliation except the test is taken(by valid clinical tests) not some wacky kit undecided

Do NOT drug your girlfriends!
Do NOT engage in Pre-marital sex, unprotected!
Do Not get in a relationship if you don't have common sense!

I'm done.

Cc Ronald4 lif ..How have you been? Your holidays? Hope you ain't shacking with some babes hehtongue
My holidays have been that of mixed feelings, bored and same time excited not to have to wake up early and set for work etc. It feels gawky just staying at home, eating etc without my accustom daily engagement even as I'm not looking forward to Monday. Yes I'm that confuse. sad

Lol, shacking a babe. Is there anything wrong with that? I'm human and I think coítal acrobatics is in tune with my natural sustenance. Did I just said that? lipsrsealed

So what if she reacts violently to the administered drug, what if she died in her sleep?

Is it not more sensible for Op's spineless friend to have asked the lady to take the home test and on her refusal, walk away from the relationship!

Why are y'all looking at this from one angle? God, what if the drug killed her? Does that matter at all to you all?
Well, one could pass out from sedation and it was a risky gamble on his part. The story would have been entirely different if that was the case. But since everything went fine, his action can be pardonable.

I must also admit his motive was extreme and irrational. That one doesn't want to perform an HIV test doesn't mean they are carriers. Not everyone feels the need or muster the courage to have one done. Still, whatever misconduct on his part is forgivable. What if there was a deliberate intent to infect her lover?

The violation of her human rights can be pardoned in this case. A life was saved and that's worth more than the infringement on her right. Whether the intent was to infect the boyfriend or she wasn't aware of her status isn't also tenable to me. A life was saved.

MRBrownJ:
i mean, you were clueless about why men did that so i gave you a possible reason... which makes a lot of sense. dont you women do things in your lives that are positive (aka win-win) solely for y'all? read again what you wrote earlier on, and tell me how this is beneficial to us men. women dont act any differently here.

BWAAAAAAAAAH!!! so developping a r/ship OR getting a free vacation (and some "good time" ) is wrong for women?! would you rather developping a r/ship OR getting free gifts and money (as you string the guy along)? at least women get something great from the male deal, what do men get from the female deal, if it doesnt work out?!

we must live on a different planet, a man flies you out to some fancy city, he wine and dine you, flirts with you, maybe even takes you shopping (thats the mumus out there) takes you to watch some movies, maybe dancing, treats you like the princess that you are, and in return he expects some warm affection that should come naturally that you will BOTH enjoy... and you see something wrong here?! if feelings aint mutual then fair enough, dont waste any time and excuse yourself 30mins into the date, et voila case closed.

bro, there are a few issues:
the rape/ritualist/kidnapping thingy in Nigeria is a big deal.... before a woman can decide to meet a guy she has to be very clear about her intentions. with the way many Nigerian men think, i dont think it is advisable for a lady to visit a guy at his home (that she aint feeling sexually like that). in the mind of many Nigerians, a gal that come to said guy's home is a confirmation that she wants sex... which is a completely wrong way of thinking imho. thats why women should stay away from men's place if they aint ready, and instead they should stay in hotels if they coming from other cities.

whoever has the means and desire to make the visit happen, should do so. but if a man spends money to bring a gal to his city, he expects to get closer (emotionally and physically) to that woman, to score some valuable points for their possible union, or just have some good time together. 1st visitation should happen when/where both are the most comfy to do so, but one thing is certain, they have to evolve (emotionally or physically) after that visit if not then thats a bad investment for the both of them.

also, there has to be a clear understanding between these two people before embarking on such journey as to what the purpose of the travel is. we men want to burn bridges and we have no problems having some bedroom acrobatics on the 1st weekend together... is that wrong really? it isnt to most, and it is all about being honest with what you desire. if the lady can afford it, she can pay for the hotel of her choice so that she is in control, at all time, as to where she stays and how things goes. furthermore, if she isnt down for any hanky panky then she should excuse herself from dinner/movies etc and go back to her hotel (or better yet, not come to visit at all). but we have to be clear on one thing: a man is not gonna fly a gal out just to watch her eat 10plates of amala and then kiss her good night.

so beforehand, women have to be realistic and ask themselves (and these men) the RIGHT questions... and these men have to be honest about their intentions from the get go.
Wondrous and breathtaking thought. The embolded interposition was very hysterical and penetrative. Had to re-read again. This should wrap up the discourse. grin

Oliviaarims:
What I mean here is that before consider going out of their way to see each other, both parties should have discussed the end purpose to the meet up and should have agreed to be on the same page.

It's not enough for the guy to start making moves on the assumption that the girl wants sth with him, judging by the way she chats. It's necessary to confirm.

If she puts him straight and says that she wants no such relationship or that she harbours no romantic feelings towards him, then I see no further need for an invitation.
The embolden brings me back to my previous question. How possible is it for a girl to affirm (emphasis on affirm) she's not interested in engaging in an amorous affair with a guy and same guy goes ahead to invite her over on a journey of several miles.

She echoed she doesn't want a date nor have any interest in you whatsoever and then the guy still invites her? On what basis and who does that? Pardon my ignorance but it sounds foolish.

Well, to an extent that's true. A casual regular chat can easily be mistaken for sth more serious. But before he thinks about inviting her over or himself coming over, the purpose must be stated and well
understood.
But wait, are you saying a guy will just invite a lady to his base without making his intention known? No blarney or flattery enticement even if it's passive and not straightforward? How is that even possible? He might have made his intent known except if the lady is ignorant or blind to the signs.

Well, true I've just encountered one but I didn't mean it literally when I said 'they'. That was an allegorical speech.

How can I complain there are no virgins when I've buttressed I don't like dating one? Certainly that was unrelated to my posture and affirmation on the topic in discuss.

The only time he can be deemed worthy is if they're in a relationship or both are intending to consciously start one.
I beg to disagree. And my reason is based on the premise that the average Nigerian woman is overly withdrawn and grandiosely reserve. This which usually makes the Nigerian man just assume once he's exchanging correspondence with a lady on a constant basis then she must be interested and nursing a relationship in mind.

How would they know that the chat is just an innocent and casual one? You lots are too close-minded when it comes to expressing oneself towards friendship and or relationship as the case may be so we just have to assume stuff even when they're non-existing. Can't fault us on that can you?
Romance › Re: What's The Reason Some Guys Do This? by ronald4lif(m): 12:50am On Dec 30, 2015
MRBrownJ, sorry to ask I don't know if you're a Nigerian or have ever been there but I'm sure you're conversant with the poor security, data base system of her citizen and their non-challant attitude towards rape and other sexual harassment cases from relevant authorities. In light of this, what do you reckon? Is it safe for a lady to make the first visitation move?
Romance › Re: What's The Reason Some Guys Do This? by ronald4lif(m): 12:45am On Dec 30, 2015
Oliviaarims:
huh

That's why it's all the more ridiculous that some guys would even think of asking a girl to take the risk, when there's no real bond between them.

And some girls really do that. huh
Having an indepth assessment of the risk and safety issues involve it doesn't make much of a sense going to visit a guy first in a society like ours. Someone you don't know their history and background records and moreso in a society where rape cases are disregarded and most goes unreported due to the lack of trust in the judicial system.

An open place should be more secure and better to get to know each other better. And if a lady is to travel to meet him it means they're going to stay either in his place or a hotel. However, if he's to come over every meeting is likely to take place in a public venue, which is safer.

Sure ladies do that and sometimes it depends on how long they have relate and know each other, their chatting history. Which would have build more trust.
Romance › Re: What's The Reason Some Guys Do This? by ronald4lif(m): 12:29am On Dec 30, 2015
Oliviaarims:
It's most definitely not t-fare issue. Safety in so many ramifications is more of a major concern.
The safety concern brings another twist to it and I think for a vulnerable society like ours risking to go meet someone we don't know their criminal background from afar doesn't sound great. But other factors remains valid.

haba, i agree with your conclusion, but regarding the blood issue, you might barely even notice it at all. Sometimes, just a stain on the bedsheet. Unless Na sword you take disvirgin an
True. But the blood issue is just one aspect of it. Virgins are overly sensitive, lament a lot and expect too much from whoever deflowered them. They are always quick to remind one how they sacrifice their 'pride' for him. That's more upsetting than the blood experience.
Romance › Re: What's The Reason Some Guys Do This? by ronald4lif(m): 12:10am On Dec 30, 2015
I think if the lady finds the man worthy of travelling to her base, she too can do same. All these societal imposed protocols should be scrapped biko.
Romance › Re: What's The Reason Some Guys Do This? by ronald4lif(m): 11:59pm On Dec 29, 2015
MRBrownJ:
i think you are the one who doesnt understand us men... you see, since there is some sort of connection here (however small/formal it may be), that man wants to try his luck and stop wasting time with this back and forth long distance BS.... so he invites the gal over. if she comes and they get along like a glove then they can continue making sense out of this thing (and possibly have a great r/ship), if they dont get along then at least he would have possibly gotten some "free" coochie.

so as you can see, it is a win-win situation here for men, and certainly not unnecessary invites..... it becomes unnecessary when the gal dont give a damn about the guy but keep stringing him along for online chit chat that goes nowhere, and where everyone can pretend to be who they are not, since they never met in real life.

now if that gal doesnt want to meet, then fair enough, and let that guy not waste any more time with you... but sadly we all know that many of these women CRAVE for men's attention.
Very apt as always. Respect!
