Lmao, I partially agree with the logic, though as someone already said above not all "broke" men are bad. I think the OP is just saying Men should first focus on being successful, at least try your best to be financially independent before starting a relationship. Women will always be available, we ain't running out anytime soon, so hustle hard and compensate yourself with a fine lady. There are many guys out there, very lazy, that are more focused on ladies than their future. Its all about priorities, strive to succeed, then get a lady. |
Hmm, are you sure this is accurate. Because the last census (though i'm sure it was flawed) showed Hausas with a much larger margin. I really hope the 2018 census can put to rest all this inconsistencies. Let us have a relational database management system with all citizens info. National Population Commission should sit up. All these imaginary millions in Kano, hmm. |
I applaud this, our culture and traditions define us. Leaders at the top should always promote this. Chop knuckle guys |
The Agriculture minister will rather spend funds on importing grass to feed herdsmen cattle, than focus on the needed areas that affect all Nigerians. My advice if he is listening, leave the cattle herdsmen alone, they are running a business and should be able to cover business expenses. If you want to assist them, offer loans. Why use tax payers money to establish herdsmen. To the topic, its unfortunately really, the problem is we don't have modern storage facilities. All fruits/crops have seasons, in the dry season tomatoes is usually surplus and most of it rots away, in the raining season we now deal with scarcity and higher prices. With adequate storage facilities we can regulate supply all year round. Simply economics really. |
deomello:You probably skipped the news few days ago when the Benue state governor distributed wheel barrows for empowerment. The underlying point is this, our leaders (at the state and federal level) waste (for lack of a better word) funds on welfare schemes that are short sighted. The school feeding programme gulpes a whole 200million for a single week, that is not feasible spending at this phase of our development, when we are still borrowing to fund our national budget. Just multiply that by 52 and you will be shocked at the total. Most of the schools where these kids are being fed have no chairs and tables, no basis teaching amenities, yet money is wasted on feeding. My opinion might sound harsh but its the goddamn truth. Most of the teachers in these public schools are highly underpaid, you really think they'll seat down and watch the kids eat without taking some home for their children, this is Nigeria oh. Nigeria has no system of documentation, half of the money expended on these so called "welfare schemes" will be hijacked. Just watch and see in few months (or the next administration) we'll see headlines like: "Principal takes bags of rice meant for feeding kids home", or " teachers exploit feeding programme"; its inevitable in an underdeveloped environment like ours. Our leaders are well aware of this, yet they continue schemes like this. Lets use the IDP camp as a case study, if you only know how most of the donations are being stolen, you will understand what i am saying. All funds should be used on amenities and infrastructure, important infrastructure. If you want to "expose kids to ICT" then open a computer center in the school, where all students (even teachers) can go at will, don't give tablets to a few to take home. |
Waste of funds.. That's the problem in most developing countries, we spend on irrelevant or less relevant things and leave priorities. Will they be able to afford data to fully utilise the tablets, probably not. Why not sponsor their higher education, the tuition of several state and federal universities is close to the price of these tablets. Or add a social amenity or infrastructure. I'm a strong fan of generalities rather than individual gifts. There's most likely some lacking amenities in the school, renovate that and impact more. My 2 cents sha. All these distribution of tablets here, wheel barrow there, school feeding will have no long run effect. |
megafone:Please you mustn't always degenerate to insults. You can pass your message without degrading anyone. I'll just maturely ignore your insults and respond to the rest. Ambode DIDN'T create the "money" he's using. Simply read any lagos budget and you understand how the IGR is generated. No single fund is obtained from any project commissioned since 2014, so please get your facts straight. Ambode is an hard working governor no doubt, but let's give Kudos where it is due. Lastly your 4 points above can't be further from the truth, the highest source of income for most economies in the world after oil is taxation, not landmass (else Sahara dessert will be the richest place). If you have land without companies you're as good as Sahara. |
Hope this is false, while no amount is too much for your ward, funding terrorists is being penny wise pound foolish. No preventive systems have been put in place to prevent another abduction (if the first was true) so basically they can still storm any school , abduction more children and demand more funds. My 2cents sha based on the info privy to me, it's possible there's much more we don't and may never really know. |
Hmm. While I have nothing against the person of Mr. Saraki, his performance as senate President leaves much to be desired. It's common knowledge the huge sums consumed by the legislature, one would expect in this time of recession salary/allowances cuts, instead vehicles worth billions of naira are being purchased. This speaks much to his leadership. At our current socio economic phase we need a prudent leader, someone that's fiscally responsible. Unfortunately Saraki doesn't fit the shoes. I wish the likes of Sanusi, Nuhu Ribadu, Donald Duke, Bakare, and other men of repute will show interest. That said if the choice is between Saraki & Buhari, Ill be forced to choose the lesser evil, which might end up being the senate President. |
Abegi, northerners aren't ready for any breakup now until oil exploration is at exploration/ production level. Fortunately or unfortunately Nigeria as a country has long been carved by our colonizers and there's really nothing we can do about it. Maybe in decades to come, the south can break away, but I don't foresee that anytime soon. What we would advocate for rather is reviewing the requirement to win the presidential election, it only favours the North. Either another state is given to the south east, or we return back to zonal regional structures, the latter seems more feasible. It's unfair for a single zone to have a larger say simply because of their population. |
Lol @ selfie taking. Trust people to wanna take pictures with the masquerades. |
Impossicant, you cannot separate (atleast not in a developing economy like ours), the military from politics. They will always be involved in the corridors of power. Over the years though our military heads have been over fed that anything coup no dey sweet them. life usually becomes more valuable as you get more money. |
na wa o. Where all these people dey comot from. If true, we thank God for the rescue; its just strange that this terrorist group have so much resources to cater for so many people. It is well. My own be say they should be disintegrated before we get on the travel ban list. |
lol, though we joke about the situation, its really unfortunate. Over 50% of Nigerian children grow up with no light, limited to listening to the radio. While their foreign counterparts are watching cartoon network, playing with kids tablets and the likes. |
While I ain't a Fayose fan, this is not a fair comparison. The lagos governor has money, the revenue generated by lagos state is more than all other south western states combined and raised to the power of 2 sef. His predecessors did a great job, though lagos always had the potential begin the former capital, and major port entry. Ekiti on the other hand is too small to be an independent state, still don't understand why it was carved out of Ondo. The only reason history gives us is that Abacha wanted to repay Aluko, no economic basis. So can't really blamed the stomach infrastructure governor, the funds ain't sufficient for anything else. |
As Trump said recently, the easiest job is that of a critic, you really need no experience, skill or qualification. APC criticized the ruling party then, now that they wear the shoe we hardly hear from the minister of information. |
Watched the guy on channels TV, he struggled to answer that question: who will sign the budget. After rigmarolling he finally said the president, only to change again today and say the acting president. It's well oh, every job has it's bad days. |
While its probably the right thing to do. Damn it's hard. After struggling through 4 elections to ascend to a position, you finally do and sickness comes calling. Quite a pity. I guess if the administration was performing better, Nigerians would have been more sympathetic. That's the advantage of having strong institutions, most humans will not, but in developed chimes, the other arms of government, a strong investigative media and an informed populace will force you to resign. |
CreamyMoltenLar:You miss the point of my epistle entirely. Whether we like it or not, there's a societal role allotted to the man and woman. Yes civilisation has extended the women's role with her ability now to get educated and get a job, but it would be highly unrealistic to say we have equal opportunities. Everywhere in the world, the man still has an edge with securing jobs (real jobs, I don't mean low - middle level secretaries or other junior positions), the ratio of men - women who hold managerial positions is still so wide. So in plain English most employers still prefer men to women mostly because they feel a woman(referring to family women) has a split focus between the family and the job. A high percentage of career women you see at the top are usually not family women, either single mothers, divorcees, or single. The logic is simple, you cannot serve 2 god's equally, either you focus on your home and the job suffers or vice versa, one has the give. That said, you made a very derogatory statement about " women exploiting their sexuality to get favours", this is shameful to say the least. I don't subscribe to either sex exploring anything other than their talent to secure favours. Let's paint the traditional scenarios, the man works the woman remains at home to watch and take care of the kids. They both have DEFINED roles, none MORE SUPERIOR. Time are changing indeed, and majorly due to the inability of men to secure desired jobs on time, or the ambition of the modern day women, we find both couples working. Usually the domestic roles which before was akined to the lady is also split. I have absolutely no problem with this. If you reread my epistle I was criticizing men that already budgets on the assumption that the women will cater for this and that. I believe EVERYMAN'S goal should be to fend COMPLETELY for his family. If the women is able to assist that's a bonus. But for a man to confidently allot financial responsibilities to the lady to me is shameful. Anyways that's my opinion which I believe I'm entitled to. It's simply logic, you want a very submissive wife, yet you want to split the financial role. It doesn't work my dear. One of the main reason why women were submissive in the times of "Things fall apart" is because the man was the head - financial and otherwise of the family. Recall that then women also followed to the farm but specialised in cassava and other less labour intensive crops. The men still did the lion share - yam and other crops that required intensive digging and ploughing. My single point is that, there's nothing wrong with the modern day women assisting her husband, but the man too should realise that the respect and submissiveness will now be reciprocal. A lady cannot bear half of the finances and not make half of the decisions. Your alpha male role reduces when the finances are shared, both parents become equal in all decision making process. Simple. |
BoboYekini:This is what men, some Nigerian men have resulted to - sharing financial responsibilities. It's shameful to say the least. Do you see we ladies asking you to carry our pregnancy for 9 months. This might sound harsh but any man that waits , expects, or counts on a lady chipping in financially is NOT a man. What rubbish sef, while I understand that times are hard in Nigeria with the unemployment situation and all, some men have just become pussies. I'm a strong advocate of women helping if able, but it shouldn't be mandatory, a real man shouldn't and mustn't count on that. Hustle hard & try your best, if no results a good woman can assist, but don't plan on that assistance. |
Poverty mentality: I see no reason why you both can't buy paint and paint the house together if you cannot afford a painter. Misplaced priorities: Why buy a TV and cable sef, when you can use the funds to uplift the look of the apartment. What happened to listening to the radio. Lastly there's a difference between being poor and dirty, the folks here are just dirty people. |
I prefer none, we should proclaim positivity o. Why all the "commas", the Bible says we should live as kings and Queens so why will I manage all the negatives above. Abeegi What happened virgin, Christian, smart, rich, beautiful, all in one person. Ofcourse he should have muscles as an addon. |
Guys guys, if you are making enough money, this should be the least of your worries. Men want submissive wives, yet they complain about footing the bills. It's either one or the other, take care of us and we'll respect you, had over some financial responsibility to us and expect the respect and submissiveness to now be reciprocal. Simple. It's just like cooking, it's the ladies primary responsibility to cook, but when the man starts cooking regularly for the family, then she no longer "owns" the home and shouldn't complain when the role is shared with another woman. Bottom line is everyone should strive to play their roles, men hustle to make money to take care of ALL your family needs, women take care of the home. |
Prefer muscular men, with dark eyes. He looks soft, too soft. I can only guess his sexuality. |
Hmm, fake news people. The headline and content of the write-off don't sync. Upcoming news outlets shouldn't sacrifice the truth for views and likes. This will only heat up the polity. |
banmee:To answer your question I'm currently in ...., so trust that I know what I'm saying. With regards to his tax returns, oh please spare me that. That's his personal business and it's his prerogative to disclose or otherwise. He is a billionaire, first billionaire president in the US and so you can't compare his financials with that of Obama or any predecessor. Simply ask Dangote to PUBLICLY declare his tax returns and you'll likely get the same response. |
banmee:Funny part is Trump ain't corrupt, the democrats have just succeeded in changing the narrative for people that limit their scope to CNN, we who watch Fox news know the truth. Trump will drain the swamp and it scares the F out of democrats. It's normal anyways; people resist change, its clear change has come with trump and the status quo resists it. Regardless we will make America great again. |
banmee:Trump cannot and will not be impeached, in fact he will run for a second term and win. Just watch. All schmuer and the democrats are doing is wailing. |
One sided comments. I guess you purposely deleted the pro comments and flooded this post with the anti-comments. It's alright. If an election is held today in America, my guy go still win. Sleep on that. |
Personally liked this senator, hes very articulate. Was disappointed to hear about his defection. That automatically strikes him off my list. |
There's no direct answer to this - Humans are social beings so companionship is vital. Hence why some people adopt children or still date (if single) when old. My opinion is that while having kids and or getting married doesn't guarantee happiness, it enhances your chances. Was listening to a Ted talks video on YouTube months back, it had a similar topic - "The secret to a Fulfilled life" The clearest message from the Harvard University 75-year study is this: Good relationships keep us happier and healthier. Period." You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KkKuTCFvzI |
Yet the current administration doesn't deem it necessary to make a pronouncement. No other clime even the unsettled south Sudan will tolerant such archaic behavior. |
obviously he is not tracking that Americans have a history of impeaching corrupt and incompetent presidents. Name one leader who has been impeached in nigeria even though every single one in its history is either corrupt as hell or incompetent.
