omanzo02: Do you really need up to 50kg for 100sqm? The application of adhesive I have see are not really much. . You mean to say 50bags of 20kg to cover 100m2. And yes bcs 1 bags of 20kg size will do 2msq plus waste.... minus and plus |

Badgers14: So, just to clarify both for me and other interested parties looking at this..
Since supafix doesn't need sand, the cost of cement and sand for a typical tiling work is still lower than the cost of supafix?
Do you mind responding in numbers say for a job totalling 100 sqm.
Thank you! Ok let’s use 100m2 of both wall and floor tiles as case study. WALL TILING Using of normal OPC cement for the job Let’s assumed your wall is in a well level gauge. No of cement(50kg) 20bag*3000=60,000 Plaster sand 2.5 tones —————-10,000 Total ——————N70,000. FLOOR TILING Assumed the floor is well balance No of cement (50kg)40*3000=120,000 Sharp sand 20 tones ————-50,000 Total —————-N170,000 In summary If it’s Wall tiling it will cost you some of N70,000( to cover 100m2 area. If it’s floor tiling it floor tiling it will cost you some of N170,000 to cover 100m2 area. Adhesive/ super fix -No sand needed for the wall here. -We are using good product of 2500 per 20kg here. Calculation 100m2 area. WALL Nos of superfix(20kg)45bags*2500=112,500 FLOOR Sand is needed here as leveling to desired height with normal OPC cement and this most be done earlier before using of this superfix. Nos super-fix (20kg) 50bags*2500=125,000 Sand is need here Sand 20 tones======N50,000 Cement 30bags*3000=N90,000 Total=N265,000 Summary of superfix-Wall. N112,500 Floor N265,000 Total N377,500 |

Badgers14: Have you used the supafix adhesive in your projects before or have you seen it being used before. I am curious about how the job turned out.
Also, is it cheaper to use the supafix than cement?
With the higher price of cement now, I know folks would appreciate another reliable alternative to bypass use of cement in certain aspects of building that generally people use cement. I do use the adhesive for mosaic work or marble price ranges from N2000-N3000 per 20kg for good product, they are lesser one like 1200 or so but they are not that good. And you can’t mix it sand So in conclusion it’s not cheaper |
In the other news, Lafarge now have supafix - a ready-to-use tile adhesive. It’s only here we use cement to fix tiles You are right bro, the ready mix cement/adhesive is available in the Mkt but only few people buy it for there project. But if you are laying marble or mosaic tiles it’s strongly advisable to use it. More so the use of cement for tiling work it’s a standard approach which you will come across in most Building construction text book. |

One4me: Before l mention names, trusted names, it will be good to know where your project is located. If in the East/South-South, l will say Spyder If it is anywhere above Lokoja (Up North), l will say Abduilwastecx, if it is after the Niger Bridge down South West, l will say Aventures, Segzy and one other name that l cant remember right now. Archy? Dareynx Paint? Gbadexy is your sure bet Material Costing and Project management? Hail QSfemi Electrical? Topsy Plumbing and the likes? Rotech CCTV? Twinskenny Tiles and bathroom stuffs? Endiasami (but not heard from him for a while) Roofing? Imram Roofing Granite and Sand Supply? Chekitaut but you will need to make sure his vehicle does not break down
There could be other people that have skipped my mind right now but I would gladly work with the above Builders.
#NotABibeli, if l missed your name, it does not mean you are not good, it simply means you have need to impress more on this thred and with the work you do. My apologies.
Keep us informed so we canalso help you answer questions and keep your Contractor on his toes. Thanks so much sir. |

Jasobry: What's the reason please Based on my field practical experience. Door frame ( wooden door) should be installed 1st before tiling then after tiling you will installed the door leaf. REASONS If you installed the door before tiling you CANNOT get the accurate floor level in all area . More so the finishing surface of the door will also be tampered by Tiler no matter how careful they are. But when you tiled your floor round with ONE level then your furniture man will then used the level to determine the door leaf height. Best practice so far for wooden door. Not bible |

seunpinky: Hello house, Kindly help review this roofing quote.
Building dimension according to the roofer: The length is 26 meters and width 15.6 meters, and the king pole will be 11 feet.
Quotation for Aluminum Long Span 0.55: Aluminum Roofing 626.4 meters x #2100 = #1,315,440 Badge Board 6 meters x #2100 = #12600 Ridge Cap 38 meters x #2100 = #79,800 Outside Gutter 31.4 meters x 2100 = #65,940 Bottom flat sheets 14.25 x 2100 = #29,925 Wall Trimming 9 meters x #2100 = #18,900 Facial cladding 22.68 meters x #2100 = #47,628 Ceiling cladding 59 meters x #2100 = #123,900 Accessories #35,000
Total #1,716,533
Transportation #20,000 Installation #150,000
Cc: @money121, kolanshang, rottech, spyder880, saydfact,QSfemi, segzy14, and all others The quotation is not too bad, it’s looks ok, But you can negotiate the cost of the Labour to 90-100k. My concern is the height of the roof 11ft is too low, I will advise you do btw 18-22ft height. It’s a big building |

siralos135: Testimony Time
Words fail me to express my gratitude to Gbadexy for being a shining light in the midst of the darkness I have seen from suppliers and artisans throughout my period of building my house.
I had watched and followed his comments for over two years. He supplied me basecoats and paints from lagos to Minna. He offered to share the tranportation cost with me by 50% and gave me extra base coats. When there was a delay,he assured me of getting another supply if that one failed. When I eventually got the Painting material ,he introduced a painter who managed the paints and even developed a different colour from to give my house the uniqueness we never expected. Thank you Gbadexy!!! My God will surprise you and very soon too.
Worthy of Mention is Saydfact! Always a phone call away answering questions and giving counsel. You have become more than an online friend sir, You are a brother! We never walk alone....
Topsy23 He supplied all my electrical materials without issues. He is someone I can always recommend.
Rotech77 You are one of a kind sir. Even though I couldn't eventually use his service due to constraints beyond me, he answers my questions promptly. I am sure we will still do things together very soon.
Michilin My water tank stand is standing beautifully done because of your counsel. You told me things to look at for and how to bargain properly. It worked!!! Thank you so much
Saturday, 14th of November 2020, a journey that started over 3 years ago became a reality as i moved into into my 3 bedroom bungalow.
To all the elders in the house, I say a very Thank You!!! Keep teaching us,we are learning!!!
On to the next one......by God's grace! Congratulations, good things shall locate all of us Amen. We will definitely have deal next time. Don’t forget to send us house warming Hennessy ooo. |
